AN: Hello to all my readers. Here I bring you my first Naruto crossover story and in this story was with my favorite Avatar. I would like to announce to you that I won't add things like 'san', 'kun' or 'chan', but I will add 'sensei' only for certain characters.
Naruto is set after the Fourth Great Ninja War.
Legend of Korra is set after 'Turf Wars'.
I don't own anything.
It was a quiet day in the Hidden Leaf Village. A couple of months had passed since the Fourth Shinobi World War and now there was an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
Before, the Five Great Shinobi Nations used to be in continuous conflict, but after the war, they understood that they were stronger together than divided, so they decided to keep the ninja alliance permanently.
That made things more relaxing, although of course, there was the occasional problem to solve, but still, everything was peace and quiet.
"I'M BORED!"
Except for one.
Lying on the roof of a building was Naruto Uzumaki, the nine-tailed fox jinchuriki, Kurama.
Due to the growing peace in the world, there weren't many exciting missions lately and that bothered Naruto as, while he had ways to pass the time, he wanted some action.
"Ho. Why can't old Tsunade get me a mission?" asked Naruto.
"Don't expect something to happen in less than a second, brat. Or do you want the Five Great Shinobi Countries to go to war again?" asked Kurama from inside the jinchuriki.
For many years, the two were hating each other, but then, during the war, Naruto began to accept Kurama, not as a weapon or a monster, but as a friend and in the end, the two became partners.
"Of course not. I'm glad you all get along despite being at odds for many years. It's just that I wish I had something to do." said Naruto.
"Maybe your wish will come true sooner than expected." said a voice.
Naruto sat up quickly and turned his head to the side to see his sensei, Kakashi.
"Kakashi-sensei, what are you doing here?" asked Naruto.
"I was looking for you, Naruto. The Hokage wants you to come to her office." said Kakashi.
"Really? She's going to give me a mission?" asked Naruto getting up excitedly.
"Maybe or maybe not. You never know." said Kakashi.
"Well I hope it's a mission and an exciting one." said Naruto.
"Naruto, you are the hero who saved the world and someday, you will become the Hokage. You can't be so picky about some things." Kakashi said wisely.
"I know. I know. But it's just that I've been bored lately." said Naruto.
"Well, you can always try reading Jiraiya-sensei's books." said Kakashi taking out his 'Icha Icha' book.
"I'm not interested in that perverted hermit's books at all." said Naruto before turning around. "Well, I'd better not keep the old lady waiting." said Naruto before leaving jumping from rooftop to rooftop.
"This kid is as energetic as ever." commented Kakashi before he sat down and started reading his book.
Inside the central office of the Hokage building was Tsunade, granddaughter of the first Hokage and current Hokage of the village. After the war, she had decided to retire and pass the baton to the next Hokage, but she needed to settle a few things before that happened.
She was going through some documents when a certain orange-clad blond man kicked open the door.
"I'm here, old Tsunade!" yelled Naruto before a shoe hit him in the face.
"I've told you a thousand times to stop calling me old!" exclaimed Tsunade angrily.
"But you are." said Naruto, causing an anime vein to form on the Hokage's forehead, before approaching the desk. "So, Kakashi-sensei told me you wanted me here."
"Well, yes. The truth is, I have a mission for you." said Tsunade calming down.
"Yes, finally!" thought Naruto with a big smile of excitement.
"Don't get too excited. You don't know what she's going to ask you to do." said Kurama.
"And what kind of mission is it?" asked Naruto with restrained excitement.
"Well you see. It's about..." began Tsunade.
"Yes..." said Naruto.
"About you..." continued Tsunade.
"Yes..." said Naruto.
"You order the official village files." finished Tsunade.
Naruto was left with his face in excitement as he stood transfixed. Inside, the bijuu could be heard laughing at the jinchuriki's expression.
He stood like that for a few seconds until realization hit him.
"WHAT?!" asked Naruto in utter shock.
"I said order the official..." began Tsunade.
"I know, but I want to know why you're asking me. Don't you have people to do that?" asked Naruto.
"The person who usually takes care of that is sick and the others are busy with other errands." said Tsunade.
"But why do I have to do it?" asked Naruto.
"Naruto, have you forgotten? A week ago you told me and I quote: Give me a mission, old Tsunade. Please give me a mission. It doesn't matter what it is or how boring it is. Give me one." said Tsunade.
"Hahaha. She's right. You practically begged him to give you this mission. Hahaha." said Kurama.
"Shut up, Kurama." thought Naruto talking to the bijuu.
"So, Naruto, what are you going to do? Are you going to accept this mission or are you going to go back to hanging out and being bored? I'm warning you, there might not be any more missions in a few days." said Tsunade with a cheeky grin.
Naruto growled internally, as he could see that the Hokage had caught him. He didn't really like paperwork issues, but he also didn't want to spend the rest of the day doing nothing. Besides, as Kakashi had said, someday he would be the Hokage and then he would have a lot of paperwork work, so he thought it would be better to go practicing, even if he didn't like it.
"*Sigh* Alright. I accept the mission." said Naruto.
"Good. There's a ninja outside who will take you to the hall. I hope you're having fun." said Tsunade with a smile.
"The only one having fun is you." thought Naruto proceeding to leave the room.
"No, she isn't. Hahaha." said Kurama laughing at the jinchuriki's situation.
Later, Naruto was in the file room sorting them by subject and alphabetically and needless to say... That he was very bored.
"Jo. I hate this." said Naruto.
"It's too late to complain now. You asked for this mission, so it's your turn to fulfill it." said Kurama.
"You're just saying that because you're not the one doing it, right?" asked Naruto.
"Partly." said Kurama with a smile.
Naruto growled internally at that.
"You know? Now that I notice, there are a lot of interesting scrolls about various techniques and history." said Naruto.
"Well, you've never been interested in reading to learn techniques except for that one time with Mizuki." said Kurama remembering the first advanced technique the jinchuriki learned many years ago.
"I guess you're right." said Naruto returning to his mission.
Suddenly, placing some files, he hit the bookshelf so hard that it caused something to fall from above and hit the ninja's head.
"Ouch!" expressed Naruto before rubbing his head.
Looking down, he discovered that what fell was a scroll, but that one looked very old.
"Hmm? That's weird. What was that scroll doing up there?" asked Naruto looking at where the scroll came from.
"From the looks of it, it was probably set aside and forgotten over the years." said Kurama.
"I wonder what's on it that they would have set it aside." said Naruto proceeding to open it.
"Be careful. I sense something coming from it." said Kurama.
"Oh, come on. What danger could an old dusty scroll have?" asked Naruto before opening the scroll.
On it, a swirl similar to Naruto's seal could be seen, but around it were four different symbols that he couldn't recognize.
"Do you see it? There's nothing interesting. Although this symbol looks a lot like mine." said Naruto before touching his finger to the swirl symbol.
Suddenly, the swirl symbol began to glow, scaring the ninja to the point where he dropped the scroll. After falling to the floor, a wind swirled through the room, dragging scrolls and books with it. Naruto covered his face with his arms and before he could say anything, the glow of the symbol increased until it covered the entire room.
By the time the light dissipated, the room had become empty and because the wind faded, the books and scrolls fell to the floor. The light from the swirling symbol lingered before it moved on to the other four symbols and soon after, that glow was gone.
AN: How was this start, eh? I hope I didn't get anything wrong. Anyway, I guess you all know what happens next, so I'll say goodbye. See you in the next chapter!
