Chapter 18

After the destruction of the Necromorphs, some of the people flew towards Mar Sara and conduct an investigation on what happened. There are two teams that have been sent to the destroyed ruins where the Red Marker. The first team is comprised of Team RWBY, Team SSSN, the Red Team (Grif, Sarge, Simmons & Lopez), along with Shoto Todoroki, Mina Ashido, Ochaco Uraraka, and Hanato Sero. This is Alpha Team. Bravo Team is comprised of Cementoss, the Blue Team (Caboose, Tucker, Washington & Church), Team CFVY, Team SLVR, Mei Hatsume, Kirito and Asuna. They all board the Protoss shuttle and get as close to the site where the purification beam hit.

Dr. Watts says over the radio as the two teams land, "See if there is anything about those creatures and their origins. We need to know our new 'friends' in order to deal with them if there are anymore."

"Got it, Doc." Church flies out and up, "I'll keep an eye on the area above and let you guys know if I found anything or see if those things are still around."

"RIGHT!" almost everyone says.

Yet Grif asks, "How come Alpha Team gets to go in some scary and partially disintegrated facility while Bravo Team stays outside where it's safe?"

Lopez replies in Spanish, "Bravo Team mantendrá alejados a los monstruos más grandes mientras nos ocupamos de las perras más pequeñas."
Translation: "Bravo Team is gonna be keeping out the bigger monsters while we're dealing with the smaller bitches."

"Okay, I can live with that."

Sarge then orders, "Alpha Team, let's move out!"

Alpha Team heads into the first building that is mostly intact close to the crater while having headlamps on their heads, which are just small flashlights on headbands. In the meantime, Bravo Team search around to see if anything survived. Cementoss removed and flatten as much of the rubble as he can when someone sees something.

"Wahoo!"Mei shouts in excitement as she pulls out some sort of cylinder-shape device, "Look at this baby! I can totally make a new and improved whatchamacallit!"

"We're not here to scavenge, Hatsume."

Close to the crater, Tucker and Velvet patrol on the edge of the crater.

"Soooo..." Tucker tries to start a conversation, "You're eighteen, right?" Or trying to hit on her.

"Yes. But you should've known that by now. I mean, we've all known each other for a month."

"Yeah, well, I don't pay much attention." Tucker is being honest about that. "...Are you also dating your teammates?"

"Yeah. All members of Team CFVY are bisexual."

"...wow..." Tucker is trying to process what Velvet just said.

Kirito and Asuna check out the center of the crater. Both of them try to see if there is anything left.

"Looks like there is nothing but dust." Asuna says as she holds a handful of dirt and dust.

Kirito has a magnifying glass as he looks at the ground, "Looks like there are some red particles left." he pulls out a vial from his black box, "I'll see if the science team can discover what this stuff is."

Washington, Caboose, Lycan and Coco explore another part of the crater. Thanks to Lycan's wolf-like Faunus traits, he sniffs around to sense any sort of danger or anything that might be intact.

Washington asks, "Any luck?"

"No. Not really." Lycan sounds disappointed, "Man, I was hoping for some action."

"Now you're beginning to sound like Carolina."

Coco looks around, "Where's Caboose?"

Both of them stop talking and notice Caboose is gone as Washington says, "Oh not again."

"Does he always wonder off?" Lycan asks.

Over at a half destroyed building, Caboose goes through a lot of partially burnt junk to see if he can find...something. Caboose rummage through and just take whatever he finds that isn't burnt as he stores them in his black box.

"There we go." Caboose seems to have found something.

Yatsuhashi, Vella and Ragora check out some of the outskirts of the crater to see if there are any other buildings.

Vella sighs as she looks around, "This is boring."

"It's the calm before the storm." Yatsuhashi quotes.

Ragora groans, "What a lame cliche."

"Hey. It's a good quote."

"But utterly cliche that I find boring. And I hate cliches."

Vella sighs, "Come on guys. Let's just do our patrol."

In the ruins, everyone march forward as they head deeper underground. The place has taken a serious beating from the purification beam that resulted in some areas being collapsed with many holes in the floor and some rubble cutting off access to other hallways. There isn't much but rubble.

"Wow." Yang looks at the mess, "That purification beam really did a number on this place."

"I'm surprised that it is still intact." Weiss is surprised that the place is still standing.

"It shouldn't be," Simmons state, "but we should be careful in case of any pitfalls or any sort of instability."

Ruby checks under a rock, "I don't think we can find anything."

Grif gives up on searching, "Well, we tried. The end. How about we try out that Yukihira restaurant back on the ship?"

Shoto blasted some debris that with his fire and reduced all the rock and metal to melted slag before freezing them. "Made a new path. Let's learn about this place." he walks down the hall.

"I like this kid." Sarge says.

Simmons murmurs to himself out of jealousy.

Mina says to Shoto, "Perhaps I should be able to clear the rubble. That, uh, Simmons guy said that this place might be unstable. My quark and Uraraka's are ideal for places like these."

Neptune says, "Yeah, no shit!"

Hanato states, "And my tape is strong enough to be the perfect rope as long as you don't get tangle in it."

Scarlet touches the bangs on his hair, "I definitely don't want that."

Sage looks at Hanato's elbows, "So that's what they're for."

Blake asks Mina, "Say, does anyone back in your world treat you differently?"

"What do you mean, Blake?"

"I mean, your appearance. Back on Remnant, humans...don't treat us Faunus very well. Let's just say that when the humans made first contact with Faunus, they were scared of some that have bestial fangs and...I think you get the idea."

"Hmm..." Mina thinks about her question, "To be honest, no one treated me differently. My appearance is meant to keep me resilient to my own corrosive acid, but it has a limit. Many people's quarks do give them some special appearances, which is uncommon."

"Yeah!" Ochaco is being cheery, "There is a police officer we saw after the USJ Incident that had cat-like features. Like, more cat-like features than you have. Fur and everything. Even have a cute little bell."

Mino then hugs Blake, "But you are super adorable with your cat ears!"

Blake started to blush with her cat ears down before Ochaco hugs Blake as well.

Sage says, "Although... Some of those people with animalistic traits say that their world has a lot of anti-prejudice laws that are enforced. So no racism of any kind is allowed."

Blake says while still being hugged and blushing, "That's good to hear."

Everyone continues to head down until they made it to some sort of chamber that has a lot of computers. Yet they also noticed a very nasty smell coming from all directions. The smell of rotting corpses even though there are none. The stench was so bad that some members vomited after running out of the room. Simmons already goes to work on accessing some of the computers along with Lopez doing the hacking. After some recovering and hacking, Lopez managed to gain access.

"Okay," he speaks in English, "I think I got it."

"Thanks, Lopez." Simmons does some typing to learn more about the facility. He types away until he finds a few interesting files. "Hmm..." he went, "I think I got something. Something about biological swarms. But lets see if we can learn about this place first." He searches some more. "Okay, got it! I found a file related to...Necromorphs?"

"What're Necromorphs?" Ruby asks.

Simmons reads, "A type of infectious bacteria that reacts to the Markers. These structures re-broadcast a highly concentrated electromagnetic signal that alters any dead tissue in range on a cellular level, converting it into Necromorph tissue and re-animating the corpse of the host organism. This signal also affects the minds of intelligent life forms, usually manifesting as dementia and resulting in homicidal and suicidal actions, laying out a rich field of fodder for the Necromorph infection."

"Soooo... The storm was caused by the Marker thing?" Yang asks.

"Yeah. Apparently, the Red Markers are made of bismuth as a substitute since the normal Black Markers are made of a completely different substance."

"What kind?" Sage asks.

"Unknown."

"Well that sucks." Mina says with her arms crossed.

"Yet that may explain the creation of the Necromorphs." Simmons continue to search through the database, "And I think I found other forms of biological hive minds that might still be in the galaxy. There are...the Zerg."

"Wait a minute." Grif said after hearing that name, "Isn't that one of the factions from the Star Craft series?"

"Oh yeah." Sarge remembers something, "I remember those games. They help me with my calculated strategies along with every other strategy game. Better than chess."

"There are also the Tyranids."

"Those are from Warhammer 40K, right?" Sarge asks, "That grimdark universe where everything has gone to shit?"

Hanato place his clenched hand on his palm, "Oh yeah! I saw miniatures like those back home."

"There is also the Many. Which I do remember from System Shock 2 back when I was in high school. And there is also the...uh-oh." The sound Simmons made doesn't bode well. "We also got the Flood."

"Those alien parasites from the ring-shaped weapons?" Grif asks, "Ah shit."

"You know those things?" Ochaco asks.

Grif turns his attention towards Ochaco, "Yeah. I read about them in a few reports from the UNSC. Extremely parasitic and feeds on the intelligence of other life forms in order to get smarter."

Simmons joke, "Won't get much out of a brain like yours. Probably suffer from a heart attack from all your fatty contents."

Sarge says to Grif, "Grif! When we meet any of these parasitic life forms, I order you to throw yourself at the enemy and let them eat you. That way, they can die from a heart attack by eating your super greasy body."

Mina asks the Huntsmen & Huntresses, "Does this always happen?"

"Yes/Yeah." they reply.

Simmons does one more check, "Ah fuck! We also got Xenomorphs!"

Those who are from Earth go, "XENOMORPHS!"

Those from Remnant have absolutely no idea on what they are.

"What're Xenomorphs?" Sun asks as he raised his left hand.

Simmons explains, "Nasty parasites that hug your face and shove embryos down your throat and later get an infant alien bursting out of your chest."

Team SSSN and Team RWBY are extremely disturbed by that. Even more so than all the other stuff Simmons said before.

Weiss shakes her head to shake off the fear and disturbance, "Okay. Next time we find new planets, we should conduct investigations and survey them before we land on them. I know we're immune to those things now, but we should take into consideration about the safety of those who have no black boxes. We don't want to endanger the lives of all on-board the ark. Agree?"

"Agree!" everyone agrees.

"Nonsense!" Sarge steps up, "We need enemies to-" Team RWBY and Team SSSN started smacking Sarge around, "Ow, ow, ow! Okay I take it back! OW!"

Somewhere in the Mutliverse, Not Too Long Ago...

Somewhere in space, a blue spaceship just came out of hyperspace and made its way to a planet. On board the ship designated as the Astra by the people on board, are the characters from Astra Lost in Space have finally arrived back at Astra.

"Hell yeah!" Kanata cheered with his missing right arm, "We made it home!"

Aries is at the console, "Now all we need to do is-" Aries stopped and gasped at what she sees.

"What the..." Quitterie has her eyes open in horror.

Everyone are in total shock by what they see out the window.

"That's impossible..." Zack says in disbelief.

Funicia hides behind her sister and shuts her eyes as if she is trying to wake-up from a nightmare. For what they see before them are two different alien fleets not only fighting each other, but also with the fleet defending the planet. We have the Covenant fleet from Halo on one side and the alien fleet from XCOM on the other side. Astra's military forces are trying their best to keep the two alien forces at bay, but are slowly getting destroyed by the advance alien technologies as many parts of the planet burn.

"So it's true." Charce looks at the destruction, "There are aliens that are more intelligent than humans."

Paulina's lower lips quivers, "I can't believe-... But we never found... How is this...?"

Kanata springs into action, "Everyone! We need to get outta here!"

Aries pleads, "But we cannot just leave! We finally came home! We have to find my mother!"

Luca points at the chaos over Astra, "I don't think we have much of a choice!" Then looks at everyone with a terrified expression, "Because those aliens are coming at us!"

Four banshees and two flying saucers are charging straight at them.

Zack jumps over to the helm, "Initiating emergency jump!"

The ship turns around as three of the four banshees fire their fuel rod cannons before two of them were destroyed by the saucers. Luckily, the ship activated its hyperdrive and got the hell outta there before those rounds hit them.

"CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT IS GOING ON!?" Quitterie demands an answer in her frightened.

Everyone on the ship is just as frightened and confused as Quitterie as they try to process everything that just happened.

"Where am I?" a woman's voice is heard among them.

They look around and noticed two new people onboard the ship. The woman who asked is Emma Spring, Aries mother. The person next to her is Finn Zweig, Ulgar's dead brother, who is somehow alive. Everyone just stare at them as they have no idea what is going on.

"Finn?" Ulgar looks at his brother with a small tear streaming down his left eye, "Is that...you?"

Aries runs up and hugs her mother, "Mom!"

Kanata shouts, "Okay, what is seriously going on!? We have Aries' mother onboard and Ulgar's dead brother!"

"You got me!" Luca is just as confused.

Before anything can be explained (or theorized), the entire ship started to rock and shake as they freak out. They all stopped and try to gain control of the situation they're in right now.

Zack tries to get the ship out of hyperspace yet unable to, "I can't get the ship out of hyperspace! The controls aren't responding!"

Then the artificial gravity gets turned off as they are now up in the air. Emma and Aries started to drift backwards until Kanata got both of them...with both arms.

"What the-?!" Kanata notices, "My arm's back!"

"How is that possible?!" Seira notices.

Finn says, "I don't know what is going on, but I think we're gonna crash!"

They all scream as they head to parts unknown. While doing so, Paulina notices that there is another person onboard in the stasis room. The person registered as Seira Vix on the monitor. Yet all of a sudden, they are taken out of hyperspace and see a planet in front of them.

Yun-Hua screams out, "WE'RE GONNA CRAAAAASH!"

And everyone screams as they about to crash into Chau Sara.

Present Day...

Onboard the arkship, Izuku gives the thirteen the tour on the ship and listens to their story as they walk through a corridor.

"Ah man, that must've been horrible." Izuku says about the tale they give, including how they found out that most of them are clones.

"Yeah, but we managed to pull through in the end." Luca says, "And thanks for saving us."

Funica thanks him, "Thank you."

Izuku smiles, "No problem. It's what heroes are supposed to do."

Charce notices the strange things around, "By the way, what exactly is this place? I notice that there are a lot of strange...people around." He refers to the hobgoblins, keijins, demi-humans with animal features and many other oddities that look like they're from a fantasy setting or some modern day sci-fi.

"Long story about that." Izuku says, "We'll fill you in once we find you guys some sleeping quarters.

Seira looks at Charce, "By the way, Charce."

"Yes, Princess Seira."

"I told you a thousand times to just call me Seira. Anyway, there is something I need to talk to you guys about."

The two left to get a bit of privacy about something. In the meantime, they bump into members of the Mitama family from A Centaur's Life with Manami, an angelfolk humanoid, holding onto the youngest of her sisters, Suetsumi (also called Sue and is a hybrid of angelfolk and catfolk), in her arms. In front of them are the three 'Chister' triplets, all catfolk, who are Chiho, Chinami, and Chigusa.

Quitterie squeals, "So cute!"

The three go, "Meow!" before Quitterie hugs them.

"Hey!" Chiho says, "Let us go!"

"Yeah, weirdo!" Chigusa struggles to break free.

"You can't just hug us like that!" Chinami tries to go under Quitterie's arms.

Manami puts Sue down before Funica pets Sue's head.

"How cute." Funica says.

Sue smiles and gives a, "Meow."

Tricky/Devil: Don't know.

Tricky/Devil: But this is an interesting turn of development.

Sun Falcon Pharaoh: Are the people responsible for the current state of affairs responsible for what just happened?
