Chapter 594

We Wait

CamNet and John Henry informed Cameron that Gail, Sheila and Ally were on the way.

Cameron informed Savannah. Cammy already heard.

Cammy didn't care for Gail's new interest in Savannah. She knew competition when she saw it. It wasn't just sex that Gail was after. It was love. Sheila was all about sex and Ally was whatever anyone wanted her to be.

"What brings them out to this neck of the 'woods'?" Cammy asked. "Gail seems to be more active recently, without Jesse."

Cameron and Cammy both looked at Savannah. They knew there was more to the story with Savannah and Gail. It involved the struggle and fight they were involved in when Gail fought two Terminators.

Savannah didn't want to have this conversation again. She'd previously asked them to not ask about it.

"I asked you both to drop it." Savannah said.

Cameron and Cammy quickly looked at each other and responded the same way.

"I didn't say anything." Both Cameron and Cammy said at the same time.

That brought smiles to all their faces.

Savannah took out her phone.

Gail set out on her own to back up Savannah. She asked Sheila and Ally to meet her. She didn't know they been in the middle of an 'off the books' operation.

She questioned her actions some but everything came back to the same conclusion. Savannah needed to be protected and Cameron put Savannah in danger.

Gail was very infatuated with Savannah because she'd prevented her from being violently Terminated. Two hostile Terminators finally overpowered her and one was about to rip her head off. That was when Savannah arrived and Tasered both of the Terminators and saved her. Savannah asked her to pull their chips which deactivated them.

Savannah refused to take any credit for what happened and said Gail fought and deactivated the Terminators and she saw Gail do it. It was technically correct because that was what happened, at least part of it anyway.

Gail fell hopelessly in love with Savannah for saving her and not allowing anyone to know her shame at almost being terminated after she was overpowered.

She waited for Sheila to arrive. Sheila ran her program with the 'Neural Interface' with Jesse. She knew that Sheila would back her play. She also knew that Sheila could get a little carried away at times with her actions. She hoped that Ally would help keep Sheila in check.

Sheila and Ally drove to where Gail told them to meet her at.

"There she is." Ally said.

Sheila looked at Gail in the SUV.

"She looks out of it." Sheila said.

Ally heard what Jesse said when she spoke with Sheila.

"Jesse did say Gail wasn't herself." Ally said. "That's probably why you're so messed up. You run her program."

Sheila looked at Ally.

"I'm not messed up, you're messed up." Sheila said.

Ally thought the facts spoke otherwise.

"Gail sought termination before when she thought Duplicate Jesse was terminated." Ally said. "Jesse has a dark side that will never go away and you have both of them on your chip. That makes you a real nut job."

Sheila felt insulted.

"Maybe if you weren't so lazy you would fix yourself up some." Sheila said.

Ally was insulted.

"I look fine how I am." Ally said.

Sheila laughed.

"And ten to fifteen years older than Cameron or Cammy look and you're all identical." Sheila said. "You should be glad I even have sex with you."

Ally didn't think that was true.

"Fine, I don't need your second rate chassis." Ally said. "You can get yourself off."

Sheila laughed.

"I already have to do that half of the time anyway when I with you." Sheila said. "You don't know class when you see it."

Sheila and Ally began to argue and hurl insults.

There was a knock on the glass of their SUV.

Gail stood there.

"Is this a bad time?" Gail asked. "Savannah needs us."

Ally and Sheila glared at each other. They were madly in love with each other but refused to admit it to each other or anyone else.

Gail got in the back of the SUV.

Sheila drove while Gail and Ally armored up.

Gail's phone rang. Her face lit up when she saw it was Savannah.

"Hello." Gail said.

Savannah wanted to see what was going on.

"Hi, is everything OK?" Savannah asked.

Gail wanted to back up Savannah.

"Yes." Gail said.

There was a long silence.

Gail wanted to say more but knew there were others around Savannah and her.

"I was worried about you." Gail finally said and then added. "And about Cameron and Cammy too…."

Savannah wanted the assistance even if Cameron and Cammy didn't. They'd needed to send the other troops away to change their vehicles.

"Thank you." Savannah said. "We can use the help. Cameron needed to send the 'boys' away."

Cameron reached for Savannah's phone. She figured that she might as well make use of Gail, Sheila and Ally since they were there. Their vehicle would be unknown to the Grays.

"Gail, this is what I want you and the girls to do…." Cameron said.

Cameron gave a set of instructions to the Metal girls as she'd done earlier to the four teams that were on the original tracking detail. This was her operation now and she wanted things done her way. She decided to make some changes and change the dynamic of the entire operation.

John was worried they were all focused on one spot. There was still the building where the Grays left from. He didn't want to get caught up in a shell game.

"What does the surveillance show at the location where this all started?" John asked.

John Henry picked up a transmission from Cameron. It looked like she was about to do an 'end run' around John.

"There's been no new activity there since the last SUV left." John Henry said. "Cameron's asked the team still conducting surveillance to be ready to move in for an assault."

John wasn't surprised. Cameron did what she wanted when she was out. He wanted to keep things contained and not draw attention to anyone.

"Do we want an attack in the middle of the city?" John asked.

John Henry went over Derek's report and how may Grays already left. He was aware that Cameron did the same thing.

"Derek only reported seeing about fifteen people at that location and five of them left in the van and SUV that went with the truck." John Henry said. "Cameron has a good plan."

John Henry went over the plan again that Cameron formulated.

John wasn't thrilled but it would take down the threat. Maybe the attack could be a precision strike.

The lax security there would play into their hands as they struck a decisive blow.

Cameron felt she obtained a little more flexibility and back up with Gail, Sheila and Ally. That gave her the idea to send the boys back to the building where this truck left from. Derek knew the interior layout and could plan it all out in detail.

She didn't like to put Derek in harms way but she thought the position she'd selected for him posed the least amount of risk. Someone would need to do what she'd selected for him anyway.

Cameron wanted to shake things up some. With her new plan it would do just that.

The guard at the facility glanced up from his phone. He was irritated that something interrupted the game he was playing on his phone. He saw the large brown delivery van approach the checkpoint. It was the second time that day it was there but he didn't seem to notice or care if he did. He knew it would be gone soon, it always was.

Derek drove the brown delivery van. In the back of it were the eight Terminators that were from the detail that previously tracked the big truck. Cameron sent them back to where it all started. None of them were pleased with the change of plans. They did know that Gail, Sheila and Ally were there now to back up Cameron's team. They all wanted some action and Cameron gave them the opportunity to have some.

Cameron redirected them to take down the facility with as little shooting as possible. She was afraid they may have been 'made' while tracking the truck that drove around in crude circles. It all reeked of setting up an ambush or at least a way to see if they were being tailed.

Derek drew a diagram of the inside of the building and where things were at. He took a good look when he was inside earlier as he posed as the now deceased janitor. He also indicated where people were previously at and what they were doing when he'd observed them.

All of their Terminators were assigned to specific locations inside the building and their targets were preselected. Once the brown delivery van was backed up to the dock and the doors of the building opened to receive the shipment, they would strike.

One of the team members from the stakeout moved down the sidewalk and approached near the guard shack. They would be in position to act quickly when the assault started on the building. That was about to happen in seconds.

Jim wanted to take out the guard himself but with Cameron's plan, someone else would need to do it.

Cameron planned out what would happen and what their response would be. There was no guarantee that things would play out that way but she planned for what was most likely.

Ally didn't like her new assignment.

"Why do I have to drive it?" Ally asked.

Sheila was still miffed over their previous conversation. She wanted to rib Ally some more.

"It's because you're already a wreck, love." Sheila said. "Besides you never can look Tight anyway. It's like you don't even try."

Ally felt insulted. She didn't think the view she shared with Sheila most of the time mattered as to how her appearance was. It was their mouths that did all the 'talking'. The only thing she thought was bad about oral sex was the view. She didn't think Sheila could complain about that, especially when she delivered.

"That's not what you say when we're alone." Ally said.

Ally and Sheila seemed to act out in a 'love - hate' manner. It was clear they cared deeply about each other but there was always a lot of banter between them.

Gail didn't like to play around.

"This is about protecting Savannah." Gail said. "Save the rest for later."

Ally and Sheila didn't really want to push it anyway.

Cameron directed the three Metal girls to obtain a second vehicle. They would use it to ram either the SUV or van when they went back to reinforce the compound. Gail and Sheila would then move in to 'help' the occupants of the damaged vehicle. They would actually make sure all the Grays were terminated. She figured it would be soon after the attack started at the complex that the Grays would get the call. Then again, if their Terminators moved swift enough, the call might never go out.

John Henry was to allow a call to go out if one was made. He would track any calls made. It might give them a few more targets.

The goal was to draw off the extra muscle from the big rig while they eliminated the additional threat.

Gail wanted to calm the situation BETWEEN Sheila and Ally but only seemed to escalate it.

"I share the same base program with Sheila." Gail said. "We can work in harmony better together."

Ally was about to let the insults slide. That statement from Gail seemed like it was directed at her. She was clearly upset.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Ally asked.

Cameron listened to their conversation. She'd heard too much. She blasted through their coms

"Enough." Cameron said forcefully.

Everyone went back to their assigned jobs. They all knew when not to 'push' it around Cameron. They all knew that she'd deactivated more than one Terminator and sent another one away into River's future.

There were too many unknowns here for Cameron. The encounter with the HK Tracks earlier still angered her. Savannah was in grave danger there when they attacked them. Both of these operations were connected.

"I want whatever is in the truck." Cameron said.

Savannah questioned the entire nature of this operation. She wanted Cameron to think about everything first.

"You do realize it could be nothing." Savannah said. "It could be a bomb or booby trap as well."

Cammy agreed with Savannah's line of thinking. They were less likely to be shot up or terminated if they used some caution.

"If they knew we were watching the compound, this whole thing could be a ruse to lure us out for termination." Cammy said.

Cameron wanted to take down the building first for that reason. Maybe whatever was important was still inside there.

"I've considered that." Cameron said.

That was Cameron's initial reason for sending the four teams away earlier.

Savannah didn't think they knew enough about where they were at. The Grays picked this spot to stop. The Grays were the ones in control of the battlefield.

"How do we know if there aren't more of them watching this location?" Savannah asked. "It would be the same as we're doing."

Cameron could only go on past experience. CamNet and John Henry were the ones that watched their backs right now.

"We don't know for sure." Cameron said. "John Henry and CamNet both reported that nothing seemed out of the ordinary, no new or suspicious vehicles have been detected approaching."

Savannah still couldn't shake her initial feeling when they arrived.

"What if they are here, waiting? Maybe this is a 'kill zone' already set up that's waiting to be activated?" Savannah asked. "I have felt from the moment I saw everything that something was off."

Cameron wondered that too but said nothing. She knew she didn't like surprises.

"I don't know." Cameron said.

Vanna was still in the Command Center.

"This whole thing looks like it could fall apart fast." Vanna said.

John didn't care for the change in plans.

"Isn't that how it usually goes down?" John asked.

Vanna was very upset when she went over what happened earlier in the day with Savannah, Cameron and Cammy.

"Cameron, Savannah and Cammy already were in a fight for their lives earlier." Vanna said. "We ALL know Savannah shouldn't be out there again."

Jesse looked around.

"Where's Cam at?" Jesse asked.

Vanna didn't know. She hadn't seen her in awhile either. She took out her phone and called Cam.

Cam answered her phone and spoke before Vanna could say anything.

"You know where I'm at now or you wouldn't call." Cam said.

Vanna figured as much as soon as Jesse asked the question. Cam should have told her anyway.

"You could have at least said - something." Vanna said.

There was a slight pause.

"Something…." Cam said.

Vanna wasn't sure if that was a joke or not. She let it slide. Cam went to back up Savannah. That was what she wanted.

"Watch over her." Vanna said. "And the rest of them too while you're at it."

The group in the Command Center all heard the conversation.

John wondered who was left at the base at this point.

"That leaves us low on Terminators around here." John said.

Sarah walked up with Kyle.

"But not on people." Sarah said.

John wasn't really surprised they showed up when they did. He didn't want to take any chances.

"Let's get the base and everyone on alert." John said. "I don't like how this is shaping up."

Kyle already took some measures on his own.

"Riley took Jan to the 'safe room'." Kyle said.

Jesse went to the nearest arms locker and started to issue weapons and body armor.

John looked at John Henry.

There was a long pause.

John Henry knew there was a heavy hitter available if push came to shove.

"I can have it ready to go online under autonomous control." John Henry said.

They referred to the HK Tread that they'd captured previously.

"Not yet, I would prefer it contained an operator." John said.

Sarah understood their conversation and knew what they were talking about.

"I would too." Sarah said. "I don't like the way any of this is shaping up."

None of them did.

When Cameron found out they put the base on alert and were low on Terminators she made a call to her group of Terminators that were coming to reinforce her.

They would now have a new assignment.

Even before the alert was issued from the Command Center, Young Allison went to get Summer. It was her function to protect Summer. Anna would watch over both Summer and her.

Hanna ushered Claire with Summer towards the bunker when they were intercepted by Young Allison. They saw Holly and Allison move out of her room to join them.

Hanna would remain upstairs for now as the rest of the group moved down into the bunker.

Claire spent a moment with Hanna.

"This is my function." Hanna said.

Anna was ready to open the arms locker but hadn't done so yet.

Claire didn't like leaving Hanna behind. She knew she would be the first one terminated if it all went 'south'.

"Is it that bad?" Claire asked.

Anna didn't know anymore than any of them did.

"That's unknown." Anna said.

Holly moved throughout the bunker and escape tunnels to double check everything.

Allison looked distressed.

"I don't need this." Allison said.

Young Allison wanted to refocus Allison. She looked at Summer.

"Can you look after Summer for me?" Young Allison asked Allison. "I might be needed."

Young Allison wanted to take Allison's mind off what was happening. Summer seemed to have a way to do that with anyone.

"Sure I can." Allison said.

There was now a smile on Allison's face.

Claire looked at Young Allison and nodded. It was clear that was what Allison needed right now.

Young Allison went and rejoined Anna back at their monitors.

"What's next?" Young Allison asked.

Anna knew it was better to be safe than sorry. This group of Grays tried to set Cameron, Cammy and Savannah up earlier. The current situation was anything but normal for anyone.

"I don't know." Anna said "We wait."

Claire was ready to call on a higher power.

"And pray…." Claire said.

They all knew things could happen fast and fall apart even faster. That seemed to be the way things happened around there. None of what happened today was planned. It all started as a simple recon. These things always seemed to grow and expand.

Now Cameron and Savannah were in the thick of it. What made it worse was that everything was unknown.

Nobody knew what could happen.

Wait

Things happen in life very fast
Sometimes we sit and wait
We may not see it occur
When suddenly we are too late

One can be left looking
When the other leaves the gate
They may depart in a huff
Feeling dejected and irate

Maybe it was not noticed
As one dangled the bait
When the call goes unanswered
One's inner self begins to deflate

Love that is not returned
Withers and is soon innate
When another is involved
Love may even turn to hate

One can always refocus
They can clear the slate
Maybe confusion can be avoided
If our desires we clearly state

Nobody
