Summary: Veronica misses Duncan, and thinks about why she's with Logan.

Spoilers: up to 3x03- Witchita Linebacker (major ones for 2x11- Donut Run)

Pairings: Veronica/Duncan, with (somewhat anti) Veronica/Logan mentions

Disclaimer: If I owned it, Logan would be gone, and Duncan would be here.

Logan accused her of wanting to date bad boys, then judge them. He was wrong. She didn't want bad boys. She'd never really wanted bad boys.

She wanted Duncan.

But Duncan was gone, and he wasn't coming back. Even she, with her sleuth prowess, couldn't locate him, though, admittedly, her attempts had been half-hearted. She hadn't given up everything only to have it be for nothing. She'd done it to give the man she loved a chance to do what was right, and to fulfill the dying wish of a dear friend. She could let Duncan go, for him, for Meg's memory, for the daughter that felt like her own.

She could get no closer to Duncan than his best friend.

Duncan's best friend, who she was extremely physically attracted to.

She would move on with her life, and truly let Duncan go. She would pick the pieces back up, with Logan, or without him.

But she couldn't. Not yet. For now, she would hold onto her last link to her first love, and try not to judge him for failing to match up.
