Tear Stained Letters

This was the end of his childhood, the jungle of transition into adulthood that he had fought through. Lifting the first one from the pile, he noted the date, the worn paper, the water stains that had made the ink run a bit.

Here's the package you asked for. I've put all your favorite snacks in, along with some chocolate. Bernie got some books we hope you like and I bought you a notepad and pen, should yours run out. I'll write a proper letter later.
