"I'm so happy for you two, Bella!" Kagome squealed.
Emmett and Jacob looked at the two women, puzzled, then Bella's scent hit Emmett's nose, and he smirked, "It's about time you two mated," Emmett said with a laugh. As Bella blushed, "Congratulations, you two."
Bella let go of Kagome and stepped closer to her mate, "Thank you, Emmett," Bella said shyly.
Jacob looked between Emmett and the other couple, confused, "Mated? How can you tell?" Jacob asked.
"Well-"
Kagome glared at her husband, "Shut up, Emmett."
Emmett could only chuckle.
Jacob continued to stare at Bella and Ginjiro, then his eyes widened, "OH!" He exclaimed when it finally dawned on him what they meant. Jacob blushed and congratulated the couple.
Renesmee looked between Bella and Ginjiro, confused. She placed her hand on Jacob's neck, asking for her to be given to Ginjiro. Once Jacob gave the baby to Ginjiro, Renesmee asked him what was going on. Ginjiro smiled at the baby, "Your mother and I are married, Kit; I am now your father."
Renesmee squealed in delight and hugged the Fox Youkai around the neck as tightly as she could. Ginjiro chuckled and hugged her back, "The only thing left to do is to give you my blood so that you are officially my child, Kit."
Bella and Ginjiro had discussed it earlier and decided that as soon as they returned home, Ginjiro would perform the blood adoption on Renesmee. He explained to his mate that it was straightforward. One drop of his blood was enough to change Renesmee into a hanyou. Her DNA would change to match his and Bella's, any trace of Edward would be erased. When Bella heard that, she let out a sigh of relief; she was glad that her daughter would have no connection to her soon-to-be ex-husband.
So, Ginjiro handed Renesmee to Bella then pinched his index finger with his thumb. He squeezed until a drop of blood came to the surface, "Now, little one, I need you to swallow my blood; you will only need a drop for the adoption to be completed," Ginjiro informed the baby.
Renesmee opened her mouth, and Ginjiro let a drop of blood fall onto her tongue. Renesmee swallowed the blood, and they all waited anxiously to see what would happen. In a matter of seconds, everyone began to notice the change. Renesmee's features began to change, but only slightly, her brown eyes turned amber, and her ears were slightly pointed. The baby's hair changed from a copper color to a light blonde, almost white but not quite. Any features that she had that made her resemble Edward vanished and were replaced with Ginjiro's. Overall, the baby became more stunning than she already was.
Everyone cooed at how adorable Renesmee looked, and Alice brought a mirror so that Renesmee could look at herself. When Renesmee saw her reflection in the mirror, she stared at herself for a long while. Everyone began to worry that she didn't like the way she looked, then suddenly the baby let out a delighted squeal and turned to kiss her mother and placed a hand on her mother's neck, showing how happy she was with the change. It turned out that she retained her power to communicate. It suddenly dawned on Bella; she wondered if her daughter would get any of her new father's youkai powers. She turned to Ginjiro and asked him.
"Renesmee may receive some of my magic. I have heard of many hanyous being able to perform foxfire and illusions, but only time will tell," Ginjiro informed his mate.
"Will she age?" Carlisle asked.
"No, she will reach majority and stop aging, and as my mate, Bella's life span is tied to mine," Ginjiro informed Carlisle.
Everyone let out a sigh of relief. The thought of losing Renesmee and Bella was unbearable for the family. Once everything had settled down, Esme decided that a bit of celebration was in order, and Bella agreed. She called her father and invited him and Sue over to the house; Bella didn't explain the reason; she only told Charlie they would celebrate. Charlie asked Sue, and she agreed.
When Charlie and Sue arrived with Seth, who had been visiting his mom, Bella ran out to greet her dad and the others, with Ginjiro following behind, holding Renesmee. Charlie smiled and hugged his daughter tightly, "Hey, kid, what's going on?"
"We're celebrating mine and Ginjiro's union, Dad," Bella explained.
Charlie furrowed his brow, "You got married?"
"Not exactly, Dad," Bella said, then blushed.
Ginjiro laughed, then wrapped his arm around Bella's shoulder, "We are married, Charlie, in the Youkai way," Ginjiro explained.
Charlie thought for a moment, then his eyes widened, and he blushed, "OH!" Charlie exclaimed, causing Sue to giggle.
Seth looked between his mom and Bella, confused, "What? I don't get it."
Sue laughed and hugged her son, "I'll explain when you're older, Seth."
Seth thought for a moment and decided that he didn't want to know. At that moment, Charlie noticed his granddaughter and that she looked slightly different, "What happened to Renesmee?"
"I adopted her as my Kit, Charlie. I gave her a drop of my blood, and that altered her appearance slightly. Though, I will cast a glamour on her so that she appears human," Ginjiro informed his new father-in-law.
"So, does that mean Edward is no longer her father?" Charlie asked.
"That's exactly what it means," Ginjiro answered.
"Good, now that is something to celebrate," Charlie said with a chuckle and then took Renesmee from Ginjiro.
"I have to admit, kiddo, you look adorable as a Hanyou," Charlie told his granddaughter.
Renesmee giggled and placed her hand on Charlie's neck, thanking him for the compliment.
After that, the group went inside the Cullen house to start celebrating Bella and Ginjiro's union.
