Chapter 5: The fall of the Alpha
Madison stood protectively in front of Jia, stretched her arms slightly to the side and pushed her back a bit and clenched her fists, she couldn't impress her opponent with that, but she wouldn't surrender.
"Madison, please, let's just take it easy, I promise maybe I won't shoot you this time." Said Belvera, a Jonah henchwoman Madison already knew from an earlier bump-and-grind where the Titans had set them on each other in New York. She was extremely dangerous, especially since she had managed to disappear under the radar for almost half a year. Completely gone without a trace and now she was back with new henchmen.
This time they looked a little different. Instead of camouflaging themselves as Monarch personnel with their equipment, they had some kind of special forces uniform, greenish, modest color to better blend in with the surroundings, they had no logos or any brands on their uniforms, wore helmets with radios attached, bulletproof shooting glasses and mouth cloths to completely cover their faces and silenced rifles, these were professionals compared to the people Jonah had hired.
One thing was significantly different about them though, they all wore or had something like they held batons, however they were lightning bolts that went on the ends without any cables or anything else attached to them, much like the rest of the equipment it was much more high tech than the usual Jonah had, those had always consisted of things he could scrap together like that, often stolen Monarch equipment, but this, neither knew of a point of view that owned such a thing, nor that Monarch ever developed such a thing, it was made specifically for this mission.
"So Madison, meanwhile, I hope you enjoyed your tour of the island, surely you've seen it." "What did you do?" "We?" Said Belvera. "We were just doing a little test run." She grinned saucily, also looking at Jia, who was hiding behind Madison.
"A test run is this? You've taken these people's homes!" "Oh, you should know all about that." Belvera deliberately provoked Madison and as expected the smart but young teenager was easily swayed and was about to attack her.
But a few shots rang out from the base in the distance, everyone's attention was drawn to it. "Damn." Murmured Belvera. "Well then, looks like our departure is coming a little earlier than planned. Jia sweetie come here." And waved her over.
Madison wouldn't let that happen and held Jia back, who in turn tried to get away from her. "I won't let you do that." "I know, but it's going to cost you and she won't let that happen to you." Madison looked down at Jia. She had a worried and scared face, she didn't want this Evil Woman to hurt Madison and wanted to avoid this at all costs.
Protecting, standing up for someone else, even at that age. Madison smiled and let her go, whispering after her, "take care of yourself." Even if she couldn't hear it.
Slowly she stood behind Belvera and tried not to think of anything bad, hoping that if she followed the rules, everything would be fine.
"Well then Madison, here's to a new one." "So you won't shoot me?" Madison was somewhat surprised by this. "No, for certain reasons we need you alive it looks like. Watch your step, we're getting out of here." She said and let two men go last behind the group to keep Madison at a distance, she didn't follow them but always kept an eye on what they would do. After a few minutes they were already gone and disappeared into the base.
Madisons just stood there and felt her heart pounding, she grabbed her neck, her pulse was racing and she could hear the pounding in her ears. She was not aware of the shock and stress she was experiencing, it was like she was losing control of herself again.
Her powers slowly felt more and more like a second side to her. As if she was different than she was actually born, she didn't know what to think or do about it. Meanwhile, she accepted this other side, but she was unsure if she should fully embrace it, let alone what the others thought about her.
Still unsure about Abby, not only how she felt about it, she thought about it a lot, still unsure what to do, but also what Mark would say or do should he find out about it. Maybe he would separate them as much as he could and never see each other again again, she didn't want that, she and Abby were friends, maybe.
Then reality snapped back to her. Mark was still in the outpost, he could be hurt, or worse. Immediately Madison ran to the outpost, her eyes sparkling blue again, fear and anger rising high in her. Suddenly an Osprey took off from behind the outpost, it had greenish camouflage, they hadn't been able to see it in the jungle on approach, with a loud rattle it immediately darted away from them, past the two helicopters still in the air, faster than an ordinary Osprey, it was a custom made one, similar to the soldiers, so she had to hurry if Mark and Ilene weren't already taken.
A few minutes earlier
Mark and Ilene entered the command center, which was on the left side of the square from their Osprey. There were none of the people who had maintained and run the station, but there were no dead or blood anywhere to be seen.
Only what was found was equipment such as radios that had been left lying around. "I don't like the look of it." Said Mark. "Who was the head of the station here again." "Dr. Andrews." "Ah Ilene, the other one." Mark gave a slight smile as he looked at Dr. Ilene Chen, she could only smirk and shake her head. "Let's get to work, maybe we can find something out here."
She marched over to a large table, which was located behind directly next to the radio control center, through the windows above it, light shone through. On the table was a transparent screen with touch function, similar setup to Castel Bravo.
The outpost was designed to be a compact outpost that would last a year without contact with the outside world.
Ilene pressed her hand on the display and immediately a message came out to unlock. As a Castel Bravo member, she could set access to all files, which was also granted to her.
Immediately she searched the surveillance cameras, but there was nothing, it said that they were down, Ilene compared the time and it was the same time as the distress signal.
"What is it?" Mark asked. "When we got the emergency call, everything here shut down shortly after. Maybe it was an EMP." "A MUTO, Megaguirus?" "Do you think it survived?" "Madison said there were larvae there too, I would imagine something had survived."
"But there was no record of any abnormal movements." "None at all?" Mark was already on to something he tapped around on the screen looking for records. "But if Gorosaurus is here, there should be something there, seismic activates, radiation, signals. There's nothing here, though. "
"That means someone deleted the files?" "That's to be assumed, unlikely that by chance the system no longer has that record in the time we get a distress signal and now we don't find a single soul here."
Mark and Ilene searched the archives, also of the personnel, again and again gaps in the data appeared, all at the same point 2 days ago. No indication of injured, sick or similar of that kind.
Ilene noticed a folder stamped "Ilene", it was her name, but not her folder, but Dr. Andrews. Maybe there was something else in there that could be useful, so she went inside, and immediately found pictures and videos as well as many reports. "Here look." She said to Mark as she enlarged the folder on the screen and went through the pictures.
The first few were photos of the island, some fauna and flora, Dr. Chen immediately made a backup for the folder, should there be anything useful in it for the future. As she went through the pictures, Ilene asked, "Do you think Madison hates me?" "No. Why?" "I don't know, somehow I feel like she already knows and is giving me the cold shoulder about it." "It's not your fault, Madison is a teenager." "Mark, you know it's not that simple with her." He sighed. "We have to tell her, I don't want to be a secret from her anymore." Mark sighed again. "I can't do that, what will she think?" "If we're not completely honest with Maddie, then we can't expect her to be."
For a brief moment the two were silent, the guard at the entrance had completely removed herself from the conversation and was just humming away in her head, he didn't care what the lab coat wearers were talking about.
"Sorry." Murmured Mark. "No it's okay, we're all a bit on the edge." Said Ilene, now came other pictures, pictures of the Iwis, the village, it caught their attention. Specifically what caught their attention was that in each picture there was an Iwi girl, but she wore a mixture of Monarch Modern and Traditional Iwi clothing. Then came a picture with her and Dr. Andrews alone, the two of them smiling in the photo. The file was named "Jia", so Ilene assumed that was the name of the Iwi girl.
The next photos, however, hit Dr. Russell and Dr. Chen like a wrecking ball. It was none other than Kong, who was just rising from the side of a mountain. "It was said that Kong had disappeared." Whispered Ilene in awe of seeing this titan. "I thought so, too." Mark continued typing, a new image, of Kong now resting on a mountainside near the outpost.
After that came a video, Dr. Andrew shot it from her camera, they were just in a forest, Kong looked down as Jia walked towards him, carefully the Titan sat down on the ground, in the process trees crunched and tugged around making quite a noise and a small tremor.
You could briefly hear Dr. Andrews startle, but nothing happened to them and she tried to keep the camera straight. Jia had already come close enough to him and he reached out his finger to touch her, very gently she touched and stroked him on it, it seemed to make Kong smile.
Ilene noticed something, Kong's eyes they were different, they stood out yellow. But, before she could look at the files further, there was a bang and shots flew through the air, shattering the glass of the screen as they radioed central. Mark immediately threw Ilene onto the and took cover, she could briefly hear the painful groaning outside at the entrance before the lifeless body of the soldier fell to the ground. Shots continued to be exchanged, meanwhile Mark slid further under the radio center table and pulled Ilene with him, if they wanted to get out of here alive they had to hide. The gunfire stopped, now they had to be very quiet.
He pressed himself fully against the cold metal wall behind him as he and Ilene held hands. "I'm scared Mark." Whispered Ilene and she gripped his hand even tighter, he was scared too. He clutched it tightly, he had no chance of winning here, he could only hope they were not discovered, remembering back to another time, more peaceful times.
When he would build a den with Maddie and Andrew out of blankets and cushions, tell stories with them in it all morning, play and have a good time. Sometimes Emma was there too and they were a whole family. Now it felt almost like that in a way, but times have changed, Emma and Andrew are gone, Madison is slowly getting older and starting to turn into a new person. But when he felt Ilene's hand squeeze, he remembered again that not everything was over and there was still reason not to give up.
Someone walked into the room and made their way to the computer, the screen was shot and could not be accessed. "Shit, those idiots." Scolded the man, he had a slight accent Mark couldn't really place. He saw the man stand directly in front of them, trying to get something else out of the computer. He didn't have military clothing, but rather expensive looking shoes, from behind Mark could only make out a glimpse, but he also seemed to have a fine pinstripe suit along with tailored pants.
He shot a few times into the computer table in front of him with a machine gun, which startled Mark and Ilene slightly, but they held their hands over their mouths to avoid being noticed until it was riddled like a Swiss cheese, he turned to the radio center and looked out of the airfield. Mark felt his heart pounding. The man's shoes were only a foot away from Ilene. But the man was in a hurry apparently and moved out of the room again as he radioed someone, Mark only heard the man swear in an accent and exhaled deeply once.
They waited a few more minutes, brief loud cursing from outside until silence fell for a minute, then an Osprey flew away over the outpost. Ilene and Mark slowly came out of hiding, but stayed covered, everything was devastated, splinters lay everywhere, displays flickered. Ilene grabbed her cheek, felt something warm and wet touch her finger and looked at her finger which was reddish, she was bleeding slightly, a splinter had hit her.
Mark peaked at the airfield, their Osprey was still there, so they had had another one. A helicopter made a landing approach as two soldiers and the pilot got out of the Osprey, apparently they had been hiding there or survived the attack. The rest of the people who had arrived were lying around dead, the one helicopter of the 3 that accompanied them seemed to have shot them, bullets had broken through the glass, that one was no longer usable.
"Who were those guys?" Mark asked, looking at the computer, they wouldn't get anything more out of that either. "We can find out when we get back to HQ." As Ilene made her way out Mark saw a bullet on the ground, it looked a little different, it was from the man's rifle, he picked it up and saw a number on it "SSS9." Mark muttered as he read it. Before he could examine it further he heard Maddie's voice calling out to him.
He tucked it into his jacket and ran out. Madison had arrived at the airfield and was running toward him. Ilene was on her before him and immediately checked to see if she was hurt. "Maddie are you okay, are you hurt, what happened?" Ilene's reaction was strange for Madison, but she didn't really have time or think about it. When Mark reached her she hugged him tightly, she had been afraid something had happened to him. She let go of him again and told what had happened. "Belvera was here, she had a Iwi girl with her, her name was Jia..." Mark and Ilene looked at each other, it was 100% the same girl they had seen on Andrew's computer. "She said Kong was her father...whatever they are up to with that..." Mark gripped his mouth, if this was true it could mean they had a Titan under control. "We need to report this to HQ immediately."
Mark ran to the Osprey, where the pilot was already getting it ready to go again. Meanwhile, Ilene and Madison followed him as she continued to check that everything was okay with Madison. "Wait Maddie." "Stop it." Growled Madison at her and stomped her foot next to her. "I don't need your help, I'm fine." She said and got into the Osprey, Chen just stood there, got a rather saddened look and sighed.
Meanwhile, Mark was trying to reach Castel Bravo with the black pilot, he had sat on the co-pilot now that he was dead, but there was no reception. "Dr. Mark Russell here, can anyone hear me?" He spoke into the radio. No one answered and instead there was only static. "We should be on our way, we may be able to get a contact once we get off the island." Said the pilot, Mark nodded in agreement.
The pilot again gave the radio contact to the two other helicopters to take off and get into formation with them. Madison sat down in the first seat behind the pilots and crossed her arms, looking stubbornly at the wall. She was angry and yet worried.
Jia was in danger, taken hostage by Belvera, after what she had shown and told her, she felt connected to her, very strongly the little Iwi girl reminded her of herself.
Ilene sat down a little further away on the other side and tried to load the data she had made a backup of on her display, but the signal was interrupted. Which was strange for Ilene, since it was a satellite connection. Maybe there was some interference up there, at least she hoped so.
She began to write her report and had almost forgotten that she was still bleeding from her cheek until Madison pointed it out. "Ilene you have a scratch there..." Maddie tapped her cheek while looking at Ilene. "T-thank you," somewhat confused, she went forward to the cockpit to grab something from the first aid kit. The Osprey had long since taken off and was flying back again, this time a slight change of route, the helicopters flew in front of them side by side over a swampy landscape where small ponds lay scattered like puddles, single scattered trees and fallen ones were on the lush green areas, on the sides small mountains and hills separated the landscape into a long valley that ran snake-like, in front of them was again a forested area that led a transition between swampy area and rain forest.
Ilene was getting a band-aid from the first aid kit, standing behind Mark in the cockpit, when she looked out, she caught something coming at her from the left side. "Look out!" All of a sudden a huge boulder hit one of the two helicopters in front of them and the impact created an explosion that glowed brightly and caused the Osprey to spin, while Madison was pressed further into her seat while moving to the left, it almost threw Ilene off until Mark grabbed her by the arm and stopped her. "Everybody hold on this is going to be a crash landing." The pilot did try to regain control of the Osprey, but one of the wings was more damaged than expected, aimed at the beginning forestation in front of the swamp.
He pushed back with all his might and pulled as hard as he could on the lever to break the fall, but a few feet from the ground he was already shouting, "Hold on!"
Madison squinted her eyes and hoped for the best, from one moment to the next feeling an enormous impact trying to travel her out of her seat, but holding on as best she could. She heard the metal of the Osprey groan and shear as the machine overloaded and the rotor blades shredded as it dragged across the ground. Trees and branches cracked loudly, earth and stones were thrown against the glass.
But after a few seconds it was over again, they had landed and the machine came to a stop. Her heart was pounding, she was breathing fast and sweating, she felt light abrasions on her hands, but at least she was alive.
The pilot coughed as smoke rose from the machine in front of them and asked blankly. "Everybody okay?"
Mark helped Ilene get up, she had crashed to the ground and broken her left upper arm, he himself was fine except he felt a little sick. When Ilene was back on her feet he looked at Madison, she was fine too, like it wasn't completely lost yet, two near death situations in one day was too much for him. "Madison help Ilene out, we need to connect with base or some outpost, do we have any satellite phone here?" He turned to the pilot, he nodded and searched around next to him and pulled out a box, it was a small survival kit, he opened it and handed the phone to Mark and he immediately tried to reach the nearest outpost, in fact he got a number and went out of the machine to get better reception, meanwhile the pilot received a radio message from the other helicopter that had survived the whole thing. However, he heard only brief shots and loud shouting. "Valkeri 2 I don't understand you what's going on?" "Big monkey, big monkey!" He heard yelling through.
Shortly after, a deep roar made the valley tremble, followed by an explosion. The pilot turned in that direction, but immediately pulled himself out of his seat to go outside, knowing what his chances of survival were if he continued to be in the machine.
Madison, meanwhile, had already helped Ilene outside and helped her sit against a tree next to the crash site. When they heard the roar, their eyes were immediately fixed their gaze in the direction and there Madison saw him standing in the valley, many emotions went through her head, fear and anxiety as well as anger and hatred towards the titan she saw. Kong, the king of Skull Island.
He was bigger than she had ever seen him in pictures, but he was much younger then. Now he was full grown. 100 meters at least, similar to Godzilla. Angered, he snapped wildly at the remaining helicopter until he caught it too and destroyed it with a ridiculously simple clench of his fists, causing it to explode.
Wildly he roared around and pounded his chest and stomped on the floor to show his dominance. Madison could feel the vibrations underneath her, what they meant, she looked at his face, small scars marked him, but one thing immediately stood out for her, the piercing yellow eyes he had. Something inside her told her she had to fight, instinctively she was challenged by Kong, but when Mark ran to them and called out to her she snapped out of it, she had almost forgotten herself again.
He came running with the pilot, the group of survivors gathered, they were the last 4 survivors of the squadron.
"Holy sh*t that is a big Ape." The pilot cursed, he himself had never seen Titans, so this was the first time for him.
"Foster said a pickup team was already on the way, would take about 20 minutes to arrive." "If we survive that." Chen said. Because she realized Kong had spotted her and was already marching toward her.
"The monkey isn't after us, is it?" Asked the pilot in a panic. "That's exactly what he is, we invaded his territory now he wants the invader out of the way, we need to get out of here." Mark helped Ilene up. "Can you run?" "I can try." But Madison wasn't so sure Mark was right, she saw it again in Kong's eyes, there was pure hatred and anger in them, no longer like a titan who just wants to defend his territory.
"Come on we have to go!" Mark tapped the pilot on the shoulder as he and Ilene ran off, immediately the latter ran with them, but as they entered the dense forest, he noticed that Madison had not run with them. "Hey man your daughter!" He shouted, Mark turned around, startled it ran down his spine cold, he saw Madison just standing there as Kong was only 100 meters in front of her. "MADISON!" He shouted. But she only turned to him for a moment, she had already slowly taken her titanic form, her eyes glowing blue.
Mark whispered "please don't" he begged her not to put herself in danger, he couldn't watch this again. But Madison knew she had to fight so that she and the others would have a chance.
"Run for the hills!" she shouted to him, Kong was already only 20 meters away from her and lashed out with his fist to smash on the helicopter's stelle and with it Madison.
She spread her Mothra-like wings of light.
Mark saw her, like an angel she looked, it gave him hope for a short moment, but still he wanted to run to her, he couldn't leave her behind. "Are you crazy man?!" The pilot held him back and Mark had to watch Kong ram his fist into the ground causing a big explosion that knocked them both over, it hurt, he cried out, out of pain and for Madison, he couldn't process it properly. Ilene held onto a tree next to them.
Mark immediately got up again and saw only how Kong rose from a larger cloud of smoke and roared down on them, he looked him in the eyes, he also saw now the yellow piercing eyes, he had already foreseen them, back then on the Argo. Just as he shuddered at what was going on here, what was actually standing there in front of him, Kong had noticed them. Even if they were perhaps only a small spot for him, apparently, however, he was far from finished.
But before the great ape charged, something glowed blue below in the smoke. Confused and curious, Kong looked down and then was thrown backwards with a blue shockwave. He stumbled around at first, until he fell back into the large green space of the valley.
Mark just stood there rooted to the spot, the shockwave had pushed the smoke away and there she stood in front of the crater Kong had created. Madison's back glowed blue with her Mothra-like wings, to her sides were still the trees and plants of the forest, she was standing right in the middle of the crack in the vegetation that the helicopter and Kong had made.
Slowly the titan sat up again, supported himself with his left arm, had put the right one on his knee, he was not injured, only surprised. Kong looked at the opponent he was supposed to eliminate, but now someone was challenging him, the second Alpha.
Down he looked at the place where he was pushed away, there stood this small human with the queen's wings. His facial expression immediately changed to pure hatred again, even though he wanted to fight it, his instincts told him to attack and kill, like a whisper behind his ear.
As the big ape reared up, Madison took off running, she had become extremely fast, when she had the Mothra's wings she could run much faster, was more agile and could dodge better through it. Out of the forest and onto the grassy area towards Kong, she jumped over small pools and puddles, but made a sharp left turn 50 meters before him and ran onto the steep ridge of hills that surrounded the valley on the sides. Kong was already back on his feet and marching towards it. The valley was just under 500 meters from one side to the other, 100 meters still separated Madison and the left hill range, she might just make it.
She thought about what she could do, she couldn't run any faster, but Kong would catch up with her in a moment. The mountain she was heading for was also close to 70 meters high. "Jump." Came to Madison's mind, even if it sounded ridiculous, but if she concentrated the shockwave she used from her feet, maybe it could catapult her high enough. There was enough strength in her to knock down a Titan with it, it was worth a try.
She let her wings go and tried to concentrate only on her legs, her body soon reaching the limit of what a normal human could do. Kong was close behind her and was ready to stomp her foot, but then she let all her energy out from under her feet and jumped towards the mountain.
Her ears raged a little at the air passing her, she had to squint her eyes slightly as the wind pulled so hard against her. But she had made it, she was in the air and jumping towards the mountain, 100 meters above the ground or so, but she didn't really have time to think about it. The mountain apparently had a small plato, it was enough area for her to land, and she would make it, but the impact would be hard. She spread her arms slightly to the side and somehow tried to regulate her fall.
Madison closed her eyes and searched for the pure titans within her. Immediately, she filled up more powerfully and her back began to glow again, surrounding her body and forming the Godzilla back plates again.
A moment before landing she opened her eyes again. With the feet in front she landed on the ground and slithered briefly over the flattened ground, thereby pulling her shoes a furrow in the ground until her back fell to the ground and braked extra with her hands, it scraped her palms too, but after a few meters she had also come to a standstill again.
Exhausted, she let her body fall to the ground and breathed in and out quickly. Underneath her she felt this mixture of earth and stone, it was hard and soft at the same time. She looked up at the sky, it was dipped in orange from the evening sun. The clouds passed slowly, what looked like birds flew over her way. Behind her she heard stamping, the ground vibrated again under her, she heard powerful footsteps coming towards her again.
Madison looked behind her with her head, seeing everything upside down. But the outline of the large shadow that loomed over her was all too recognizable, along with those piercing yellow eyes that glared at her.
Suddenly she felt that she was catapulted back into another time, barely a year before. She was facing a titan in a similar situation in Boston. She stood in the reception room of the Red Socks and was stared at by the one who is many. Full of hate, he wanted to kill her, just as Kong was about to do now. But she would not give up so easily, never would she bow to her nightmares.
She snapped out of her thoughts and scrambled to her feet, ignoring the pain she was now in, her powers pumping her further again, and out of sheer spite Madison faced Kong.
The two stared at each other. Madison's eyes glowed a bright blue, while Kong's eyes were still that vicious yellow. He growled at her, baring his teeth, but Madison was not afraid of him and instead took off her jacket and as a sign of challenge threw it at Kong. The latter just stared down at it for a moment and roared at Madison, she roared back, she was ready to fight for herself and others, no matter the size, probability of victory or danger.
Kong had been provoked enough and lashed out with his right fist, Madison planned to jump aside and then hit his arm with full force, but then she heard a loud but painful roar from Kong and his arm was pulled back.
Gorosaurus had rammed her powerful jaws into his upper arm to protect the alpha. With a mighty swing, Gorosaurus turned her head to the right, grazing Kong on the mountain with his left hand, causing the ground beneath Madison to shake briefly. Goro threw Kong to the ground again in the middle of the valley, as Kong lay on the ground she turned to Madison who walked closer to the edge to her.
Gorosaurus turned her head slightly to the side and made a short sound, she was loyal to the Alphas and willing to fight for and with them. Madison smiled a little and wanted to touch her, but then Kong jumped and up Gorosaurus in the neck, it was a deep bite, and in the process the Titan was thrown against the rock, almost causing Madison to slide, but she was still able to drop backwards to avoid crashing into the abyss.
Gorosaurus hit Kong in the head with her long tail and braced herself against the king of the island, pushing him aside. Now she faced her opponent, the wound on her neck wasn't that bad and only made her angrier. As Kong briefly grabbed his head and staggered backward, Gorosaurus charged head first into his chest, forcing all of Kong's air out of his lungs. Wildly, he tried to punch the big dinosaur's body, but that only made the primeval beast wilder, and eventually it pressed Kong against the mountain on the other side of the valley.
Madison watched, right now there wasn't much she could do, a shockwave from here wouldn't reach far enough to catch Kong, besides so would Kong.
But Gorosaurus seemed like a good match against Kong, wasn't it thousands of years ago where the two species warred and almost chased each other to extinction.
Gorosaurus slammed her head against Kong's chest again and then tried to get at his neck with her sharp teeth, but he knocked her away before she had a chance. As Kong raised both his arms and raised his fists side by side to crack Gorosaurus across the skull, she turned just as she shook her head and whipped Kong with her tail against his ribs on the left side, bringing the titan great pain and knocking him slightly to the side again.
Madison, meanwhile, tried to see if Mark and the others were recognizable from up here, but she didn't see them, nothing she could do now but hope they were safe.
Gorosaurus had recovered from the blow to the head and sped toward Kong, mud, debris and water splashing and flying through the air as a primeval roar went through the valley. Kong saw the dinosaur rushing towards him and was about to grab him by the head, but all at once Gorosaurus straightened up in a running start and leapt forward with her feet in front of Kong, lifting and balancing herself off the ground with her tail, and kicked him first in the stomach and then against the head.
With the Jump Kick, Gorosaurus brought the Titan down and onto all four. Now he stood there like an ordinary gorilla and looked up at his rivals, the ancient dinosaur, who stood up and roared at him to show their dominance.
But Kong does not bow to anyone. Then that voice whispered in his ear again, giving him power he couldn't even imagine. He jumped up, dodged his opponent's powerful fangs, spun and took Goro in a headlock, punching the skull several times, teeth flying out of the dinosaur's mouth. Goro scratched and pulled a deep wound in Kong's hip, edging into the flesh with her long and sharp claws, but Kong was driven on, ignoring the pain.
Madison couldn't do anything from up here, she felt useless, defeated, it was supposed to be her job to protect the Titans, but now she had to watch as one of them was at her mercy from one moment to the next.
Kong continued to grapple with Gorosaurus until the two stood in the middle of the valley, slowly the dinosaur freed itself from the powerful arms of its opponent again, but then she felt Kong grab her by the neck with his hands, start to choke and slowly cut off the air. She kicked her feet and sharpened her claws into his chest, but Kong had overpowered her and had become too strong for her.
Sparks and small lightning bolts began to form on his forearm, Kong's eyes began to sparkle, the red veins in his eyes turned to a yellow golden color, the lightning continued to crackle and spray his arms until Kong sent them in a massive charge right into Gorosaurus and a massive lightning wave caused the titan to wriggle and finally fall. When Kong felt that Gorosaurus was completely paralyzed he just let it fall to the ground, as the mighty ton body hit the ground it continued to throw up earth, water and debris. Slight movements were still there and she breathed, but at an uneven pace her eyes were closed and could do nothing more against the danger.
Kong moved to her neck and carefully put his foot on it and was about to strike the final blow. Until a hot pain hit his back, he turned around and saw Madison standing on the plato. She had changed back to her titanic form, drawing more of her energy, and had unleashed a great shockwave concentrated in his direction.
Enraged, Kong jumped out with his fists on top and wanted to smash the whole mountain together with Madison. But when he was a few meters above the air, a bright blue light that was very hot from the left hit him in the side and threw him several meters away almost to the end of the valley.
Madison looked to the side, shock was in her, but again hope and joy, he had arrived, he could not go faster, even if he had heard his queen's cries for help.
Godzilla stomped through the dense forest, scaring up flying creatures as his powerful feet snapped the trees beneath him like matchsticks, behind read clear imprints of his foot and toes in the ground just as he discharged a charge of his atomic breath, the blue on the back plates slowly flickering out again. He walked across the crash site and stood directly opposite Kong in the typical Skull Island yellow orange scorching light of the midday sun. His massive body broke through the light and dropped a shadow on the valley below, angrily looking down at Kong who was just getting back up. Godzilla let out a short roar to make his alpha status clear, and turned over to Madison, who still had the light of her titan form around her. Carefully and slowly, he lowered his head to her so that Maddie could get to him. Immediately she touched him, hugged him and stroked his muzzle, it calmed her and made her happy, it regulated her heartbeat, restored some strength and energy. She had already experienced many bad days, but this was one of the worst, her emotions and thoughts were torn apart, traumatized by everything, shreds of Boston and all the other events flew through her mind, she began to cry, to sob.
Godzilla realized this and also who had caused it, felt a rage, a desire for retribution to make his partner happy again or whoever made her sad. He turned over to Kong who was already ready to fight again, the wounds Kong had meant nothing to him, only the strength that was still in him, he pounded his chest, it echoed through the valley, followed by a brutal and aggressive roar, challenging the Alpha as he pounded his fists on the ground.
Godzilla growled and bared his teeth, but still gave a short but clear look at Madison behind him, she should keep her distance, this fight would be too dangerous for her. With certainty Godzilla took a step forward and stomped on the ground straightening his body forward and roaring with such force that it made the valley shake. "Roooooooooogaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr."
The two titans charged at each other and Kong got the first punch in and caught Godzilla against the neck, but that didn't itch him much and he slammed his upper jaw into Kong shoulder pulled him to the side, let go again which got Kong going for a moment and then he threw himself against Kong with his shoulder, at first he was surprised by the weight Godzilla had, but then grabbed him by the arm and neck and braced himself against him and pushed him away from giving him an upercut from below on the chin Godzilla which must have hurt quite a bit.
Godzilla answered with a spin to the side and a slap with his tail back to the other side of the mountain, where Gorosaurus had already knocked him away. When Kong's back hit the wall, he roared, but was hit in the chest by Godzilla's foot, which threw him up and pinned him to the ground. Still not quite beaten, he punched Godzilla's stocky leg as he went down, catching the kneecap, which made the alpha groan briefly, but also made more sour.
When Kong was on the ground and tried to get up again, Godzilla turned around and hit his back with his tail, pushing him down with it, again and again. But Kong was stronger and tougher than expected, equal to the Alpha.
On the next strike Kong threw himself sideways onto the field, rolled over and grabbed Godzilla by the tail, as he wrestled with him he straightened up further, Godzilla wanted to turn to him but couldn't act fast enough. Kong stood up and pulled as hard as he could with all his might, even though Godzilla was heavier than him, the sheer muscle power he could muster would help him carry and throw Godzilla onto his back. He in turn now crashed his skull down to the ground and bit his upper lip with it and then he felt his body being dragged across the ground by Kong, rocks and small trees scraped across the right side of Godzilla's body, he tried to hold on to the ground with his claws and made large furrows through it but he had underestimated his opponent. Kong let go of Godzilla and let the Alpha Titan slither back to the other side of the valley against the mountain, small and medium sized rocks rained down on Godzilla, but he couldn't even think about that, above him was Madison, she could fall down. As he looked up at the cliff, it briefly went dark from one second to the next and he felt something ram his head into the ground with such force and violence that he had never experienced before. Pain, such as he had not experienced in a long time. As the pressure subsided again it became lighter in a flash as the sun shone down on him, followed by a blow to his neck and chest. Looking up, he saw Kong's mighty fists slamming down on him, over and over again. The pain grew stronger each time, he felt his body slowly give way Godzilla looked Kong in the eye, there he saw only pure hatred, in those yellow sparkling eyes, he growled angrily, Godzilla, the alpha, the king would bow to no one.
As Kong was about to lunge at him again a small blue object jumped at him from the mountain, from Godzilla on the ground he couldn't see it but it hit Kong in the chest knocking the titan backwards several feet and falling on his back as he roared loudly, a stabbing pain had gone through his chest.
Godzilla, meanwhile, saw the blue object come crashing down on him, it had flown slightly backwards when it hit Kong. It was Madison, she had used the last of her strength to help Godzilla fight, to help him. Seeing his partner fall Godzilla jumped up, she had her Mothra Titans wings of light as she made her fall into the abyss. Mid air she fingered his head, the impact was hard but he immediately realized she was still alive as tingles spread across her forehead and she got back up.
"Godzilla..." She whispered and looked down at her feet, where the ground she was standing on was her savior, as she saw and watched his skin she realized how dizzy she was getting, too much energy was taken from her with that blow, never before had she used something like that against a Titan. She braced herself with her hands as she fell and began to breathe harder.
Godzilla took a step to the side and cautiously turned towards the valley, but unlike he had thought, his opponent was still not beaten, Kong jumped towards him and stabbed Godzilla's neck with a large tree that fit into his hand like a dagger, whereby he himself also got splinters in his fingers, dragged the tree the neck along, until Godzilla finally bit him in the upper arm, so hard that he was almost to the bone and pulled to tear the wound deeper, which made the great ape to but only angrier and brought to snort.
Madison was flung through and was right at the bite Godzilla had caused and tried with all her strength to hold on to his head, slipping down to the back of his neck and almost being caught by Kong's hand and had partially climbed into the wound with her left foot, Godzilla's blood now stuck to her.
She felt it getting very hot under her, the buzzer behind her, the vibration of the Atomic Breath under her. Madison closed her eyes and hoped for the best as Godzilla brought his Atomic Breath down on Kong. The blue more of flame and heat burned though, pushing him back a little, but the King's ultimate attack had grown weak, something inside him was holding him back, leaching and pulling on him, he wasn't at full strength, Madison felt it, he had reached his limit.
Which made it easy for Kong to overpower him again as the atomic breath ended and Godzilla gasped in exhaustion. Kong grabbed the places he had hit, shoulder and chest, wiped his head and just yelled at Godzilla and ran at him again.
"Godzilla, watch out!" Madison shouted at him, but he was too weak to defend the attack and Kong had his lightning bolts on his arms again and struck Godzilla against the chest with them, giving him electric jolts directly into his body, Godzilla cried out in pain, each strike spreading through his body and causing spasms in him, after Kong kept pounding Godzilla with his new ability, he struck the alpha against the head, putting him out of the game for good now. Godzilla fell to the ground, as Madison fell with him, he took her in his hand to protect her from the impact.
It was briefly dark for her as she felt Godzilla gently wrap his hand around her, but then she felt the impact and was briefly thrown to the side, causing her head trauma. When everything stopped, it beeped only for her and she looked around, uncertainly confused, in the dark. Then Godzilla's hand slowly opened again, the light of the sun beaming down on her, and she carefully tried to retrace her steps away from him. She staggered around, her ears still ringing, other sounds suppressed, dizzy. She wandered around for a few feet until she saw Godzilla's head again, he was lying just a few feet in front of her, breathing heavily, his eyes closed or only a slight crack open, blood running down from the wound on his neck. The king of the monsters was defeated.
Madison went down on her knees, her world around her collapsed, the ground beneath her was just churned up soil, all around her was only death, around her she saw images of her destroyed house flashing, she could no longer understand the world, she had become helpless, powerless. Then she heard that roar again, it was from her nightmares, Ghidorah. But when she turned around and a shadow loomed over her, it was not Ghidorah, but Kong she saw, but he had the same yellow piercing eyes, full of hate, full of rage, directed against life itself.
Madison straightened up one last time, clenched her fists and faced her end. In her mind she wanted to protect Godzilla from more pain and suffering, so that nothing more would happen to him, but realistically she had no chance, but she could not think clearly, emotions guided her.
Madison yelled at Kong out of frustration, out of anger, out of fear, defenseless she stood there, ready to stand up for others so she could go on living, even if it meant Madison would lose.
Maybe it was luck she had, maybe fate or maybe there was still good in Kong, but he did not attack her, he had won, he had no reason to kill her, even if that voice behind him in ear said otherwise. The wounds he got didn't bother him much, they would heal soon, but from now on he carried the victory and with that he was the new king, King Kong.
He roared at the sky and beat his chest, his fists glowing, Madison could do nothing but watch, the new Alpha Beast was crowned, but that didn't mean she would follow him, nor that other Titans would immediately listen to him. Kong's reach was nowhere near as far across the planet as Ghidorah's, it would take a while for the others to accept him, time to do something about it, Madison sensed it, Kong's presence was not a good one, the balance was in danger.
Behind Kong she heard a roar, it wasn't quite as loud, but she knew exactly what it was, Gorosaurus, Madison spotted through Kong's legs, she had gotten back to her feet and roared at the alpha throwing her head back and showing her red colored throat, a warning sign that he should leave the territory.
Kong first wanted to attack again, but stopped. Voices whispered again, gave him orders from the dark, retreat, but next to the dark voices was also a bright voice that he knew well. Kong turned to the side, towards the east, sensing that someone close to his heart was asking him to come. So he made his way there, he went on all fours, climbed up the mountain on the valley side and disappeared behind it, flying animals were startled, but as quickly as the fight had begun, it was also over again.
Madison just looked behind him, she just didn't understand why. Why did it all happen to her, why did others have to suffer when she was with them. In her despair, she blamed herself, but there was nothing she could do.
Gorosaurus just stood there for a while and inspected Godzilla and Madison from a distance, the two were weak, beaten, but still recognized them as Alphas, but she didn't care, her own survival was more important to Gorosaurus, it was her instinct. She simply turned around and went in search of a quiet place to rest, also received enough injuries, but not quite as bad as Godzilla.
Madison moved closer to his head, limping over to him with the last of her strength, fighting her own body to get closer once more. His breathing had still become heavy, his eyes were only slightly open, but he could see her and made a short, pained sound.
Madison was finally on him and touched his skin, she saw the wounds and scratches he had, the old ones as well as the new ones. And even she had them herself, hands were scraped up, head was bruised a cut on the chin.
"Godzilla, I'm sorry." She said and leaned her head against him and continued to cry. She could feel how weak he was. "Don't leave, get up, get up, please...get up."
She cried and screamed at him.
Sorry for how long this one took again, I had a lot of things going on irl with school/work stuff so I hadn't much time for writing, also the heat is killing me, but I hope I can get a smaller chapter out this month before going back to learning again. See you all in the next chapter! P.S. I'll iron out some things in a bit, so don't worry.
