As Jaune completed his experiment, he headed back to the surface. On the third floor, Jaune met with the white-haired kid being chased by the Minotaur. The kid seemed to have gotten stronger. The moment the white-haired kid saw Jaune, he was happy.
"Jaune-san! I knew that you were alive!" Bell said. "A lot of the people in the guild thought that you died since you haven't returned after two weeks!".
"How do you know my name?" Jaune asked. "I don't remember telling you my name when we met"
"I-I was able to get your name from Rose-san in the guild," Bell said. "I described you, and she was able to easily recognise who I was talking about due to your weird clothing".
"I see," Jaune said. "Anyway, I'll be heading to the guild to exchange all the item drop and magic core that I collected".
"Goodbye!" Bell said. "I bet everyone would be surprised that you've returned".
Bell, who saw that Jaune was alive, became even more motivated than before. So, he continued to fight the monsters.
Jaune made his way to the guild and looked for Rose as he arrived. The werewolf was shocked the moment she met eyes with Jaune. She couldn't believe that he was alive. Rose is a person that has experienced many death of adventurers who was assigned to her. One of the reasons she rejected being an advisor for Bell is her not seeing him as strong and didn't want to experience another death of an adventurer assigned to her.
"You're alive," Rose said with shock. "For the past few days, I thought you've died in the dungeon".
"I guess it's natural to think a new adventurer is dead when they don't return for a few weeks," Jaune said. "I was so immersed in killing the monster and diving deeper that I didn't want to return".
"H-How deep did you dive?" Rose said. Her instinct is telling her that the answer would be absurd. "I don't know why, but I feel like the answer would be something crazy".
"Hmm…I was able to dive to Floor 49," Jaune said. "Quite an interesting area. No grass or trees grow on the desolate ground. The rocks and the sand are all a reddish-brown colour. The place was deserted. I wanted to continue diving deeper, but I thought it would be better to bring Scáthach with me. So, I came back. Otherwise, I would probably send a few months there".
"F-Forty-ninth floor…" Rose questioned what Jaune had just said. Then again, it would be impossible to know what Moytura looked like unless they've been there. There is a map created by the Loki Familia. However, it hasn't been released. "There's no doubt you've truly been to the forty-ninth floor. No one has any information of it outside the guild and the Loki Familia".
"Oh, by the way. Where can I sell all the magic core and item drop that I collected," Jaune said. "And there are a lot of them".
"Huh? But you don't have anything on you?" Rose questioned. "Did you store it in a storage before arriving here?".
"No, I can store everything I own in their own space," Jaune said. "It's quite a convenient thing to have".
"I suggest not informing anyone of such ability," Rose warned. "If people knew, they might target you".
"Thanks for the advice, Rose," Jaune said. Rose was surprised that Jaune didn't use any honorific. "So? Where can I sell my collection?".
"Follow me," Rose said. "Since you reach the forty-ninth floor, I'm guessing you have a lot of materials with you. If that's the case, it is best to bring you to the back so that no one would be able to see any of the things you own. Therefore, lowering the chance of you being targeted".
Jaune followed Rose to the back to check all the drop items and magic core that he was selling. This process took a while since Jaune had a magic core of monsters from the first floor to the forty-ninth floor. For the final price, Jaune received 3,550,380 valis.
"Is that a lot?" Jaune doesn't have a clue since the currency of DanMachi is different from Remnant. "I'm not really familiar with this place's currency".
"What?" Rose was confused. "But this currency is used throughout the mundane world".
"Aha-ha-ha! Don't mind me," Jaune said. He then lied. "I lived outside of Orario, and the currency we used are supplies. So, I'm not used to using valis as a currency".
"I understand," Rose said. She then explained the currency. "With this amount of money, you should be able to live comfortably for a few years if you spend it wisely".
"Nah! That's not happening," Jaune said. "I'm planning to use the money to buy a building I can use to make a weapon and armour store. IT's been a while since I forged anything".
"You're a blacksmith?" Rose was intrigued. Jaune being able to dive to floor forty-ninth on his own, she thought he was a training maniac. "You're quite something, Jaune. Different from the people I meet daily. Quite an oddball if you ask me. But it's not bad".
"Do you have any recommendation on a building I can turn into a store?" Jaune asked. "IT would be great to have someone help regarding property since I've never bought one before".
"I do know a few people," Rose said. "You tend to know people when working as a receptionist in the guild. Do you have any limit to the amount you're willing to spend?".
"None," Jaune said. "If I'm short of cash, I can return to the dungeon and kill a few monsters on the lower floor. That should be enough to pay for everything".
"You're truly an oddball," Rose said. "No one is as nonchalant as you when it comes to diving deep in the dungeon. Even the strongest adventurer called Ottar acts like you when talking about the deeper levels of the dungeon".
"Meh. That's just how I am," Jaune said. "I've been this way since I was twelve, at least from what I remember".
[By the way, are you planning to use the same tactics as you did back in Remnant to gain customers for your shop?]
"Yup! Why not?" Jaune said. "I will give them the money if they can destroy my weapon. Otherwise, if their weapons break, that's on them".
[I see that the black-heart (Master Blacksmith0 is about to open business once more]
"Hey! I'm not black-hearted," Jaune said. "I'm not forcing them to buy from me, nor am I forcing them to accept the challenge of pitting their weapons against mine".
Once done with dealing with the guild, Jaune looked for a place to stay. When Jaune was in the dungeon, he had a tent and a sleeping bag. Now that he's out of the dungeon, he is looking for a regular bed to sleep on.
Looking around for a while, Jaune found a place not to sleep but to eat. The establishment was called the Hostess of Fertility. The front entrance has a set of double doors with wood carvings decorating the frame. Carvings can be seen in various places on the front of the pub. The Hostess of Fertility sign can be seen on the left side of the entrance and on an overhanging sign with a crossed fork and knife.
"Welcome to the Hostess of Fertility!" Syr Flova greeted. "My name is Syr Flova. Is this your first time here in Hostess of Fertility?".
"It is," Jaune said. "How do things work in this pub?".
"It's pretty simple," Syr said. She then hands Jaune a menu. "You order what you want to the assigned waitress to you then they bring the food, which would be me. There is no harassment allowed here, and they won't be tolerated. We will find you if you try and run without paying for the food. And there will also be no fighting".
"That's fine then," Jaune said. "Now, let's see what you have…Can I just order the entire menu?".
"You can if you want," Syr said. "But remember what I said. If you don't pay, we will look for you no matter what".
"That's no problem," Jaune said. "I'll order the entire menu".
After taking Jaune's order, Syr gave it to the cook. After a few minutes of waiting, a certain werewolf and his Familia arrived in the Hostess of Fertility. They were welcomed in and sat at their table.
"Ha-ha-ha! I told you! I told you all that you were going crazy," Bete said. "See, where is this so-called person that has the power to beat all of us combined? Nowhere that's where! Ha-ha-ha".
"You know we are talking about a dead person, right?" Tiona said. "Why are you laughing at a dead person?".
"What does it matter?" Bete said. "He was weak! That's the fate of every weakling!".
"You're really getting out of hand, Bete," Tione said calmly while sticking to Finn. "The captain is right. You need to reel in your craziness".
Jaune heard everything they said. He wasn't bothered with the werewolf. Jaune can crush him easily. The only reason he hasn't, is because Jaune doesn't like bullying the weak.
Another few minutes passed, and Jaune's food was ready. Syr and other waitresses brought the food to Jaune. He happily ate all the food that arrived at his table. All the adventurer in the pub was amazed that Jaune could eat so much. He wasn't even slowing down.
During the commotion of Jaune's eating feat. The Loki Familia looked at the area that everyone was looking at. That's when they saw Jaune. Bete was shocked that Jaune was alive since he hadn't returned for two weeks. Ais, on the other hand, has other ideas. She wants to challenge Jaune to a duel.
While this was happening, Scáthach arrived in the Hostess of Fertility. Using her connection to Jaune, she was able to find him. That's good and all, but Jaune's jaw was wide open due to Scáthach holding a young woman with fox features in her hand.
