Chapter 8: Gods of the Sea
"Sister?" Mark was quite perplexed by Belvera's answer to Ilene.
"Half sister." Added Ilene. "Oh yes the lost half-sister of mother's side, cast out and excluded from the tradition at Monarch.
"Cast out, you left with your father by choice."
"Mother had never wanted me see it. You were always destined to join Monarch, I was the unwilling child of a second marriage, shunned by the rest of the family. "
What is this, some sick way to get back at her siblings?" Mark asked her, slowly coming into these situations more and more like a de ja vu of what happened on Isla de Mara, getting a really bad feeling about it.
"No Dr. Russell, unlike you I don't bring family matters into my missions. Just a little teasing to my little sister."
"You're older than me and Ling." "Oh shut up." Snapped back, Belvera seemed sensitive to it but didn't let on and continued immediately.
"The mission of Apex is to force humanity back to its natural prem. Jonah believed with the awakening of the Titans that would have been possible, but human civilization still stands like a rock in a surf, it needs a bigger wave." "The last one almost cost us the planet, we keep having problems coexisting with the Titans, are you completely stupid or did Dad just beat you too much?!" Ilene yelled at her, it was getting to be too much for her. Mark tried to calm her down, he could imagine all too well what this situation was like for her. Madison had sat down on a chair next to her, it was hard to watch her get angry. Mark meanwhile was trying to get more information.
"How are they even going to do what they're doing, with a nuclear bomb that will make the sea and land uninhabitable?" "No, that would do nothing but damage future profits, we prefer another more natural strategy." Another image transmission came in on a second channel, it was Kong. Just like here on this ship with Godzilla, they had Kong chained up as well. Unlike a highly agitated and active Alpha, Kong was sitting very still on an aircraft carrier, as if in a deep trance. "So Kong's attack was anything but accidental." Said Ilene. "You rebuilt the Orca?" "Oh no Dr. Russell, the Orca was prototype, we refined it, Kong is now 87% under our complete control." "How is such a thing possible, Kong is an alpha creature like Godzilla, even in Ghidorah's attack he had not yielded to him."
Meanwhile Madison had pulled herself back together and confronted Belvera herself. "On one side they captured the Iwi girl named Jia, much like me and Godzilla she has a connection to Kong and can hold him back and keep him under control for that scum, that's the 13% where they can't control him." Belvera and Madison stared at each other, Belvera still had that slight smug smile on her lips but it would fade in a moment.
"They put Ghidorah's DNA, cells, blood, or some other devilish stuff in it."
At first Belvera seemed a bit surprised by Madison's statement, looking away and gripping her chin, seeming to think about what Madison had said. Her smug facade remained, to her the whole thing was like a chess game and she loved it, again she put on her nasty smile and turned back to Madison. Mark wanted to intervene and stop Madison from continuing her, fearing what that might mean for her, but Belvera spoke again.
"You're smarter than you sometimes let on. "
"That was obvious, never had a Titan exerted such hatred and rage, except Ghidorah. The electrical charges Kong gave off were almost too similar to Ghidorah's, this one could bring even Godzilla to his knees. Also, his eyes were yellow, I saw it in him, there wasn't just one soul in there. Jonah was after the DNA of Titans before, I assume he knew people who could handle it and also stole information from my mother just like you stole the templates with the ORCA." "Stole is a dirty word, let's just say she left it to us." Madison felt her pulse go up briefly, but managed to keep it in check. "Where would they even get...the head." Mark remembered how Ghidorah's head was severed by Godzilla, they never found it after the detonation of the Oxygen Destroyer, they had assumed it was destroyed in the blast, but if Ghidorah came out of it alive that assumption may have been too much of a guess.
An alarm went off on the ship and a beep across the way on Belvera's side. "I'd love to chat more and tell our secrets, but it looks like they're getting company, let's see if they survive. The terms against Monarch expire in 72 hours." The transmission was cut off and another image appeared, a map of the area, with two targets marked as red dots moving towards them. They were about 2 kilometers away from them.
"Two targets, two clicks northeast coming at us." Gave the helmsman in front of him. "They are approaching at 50 knots and gaining speed Captain." "All on firing standby, secure the holdouts at our target." Madison knew he was talking about Godzilla, because from the bridge she could see him slowly getting more and more nervous and upset, growling sourly. "
"Dr. Russell, Dr. Chen? What are the names of the targets?" "We're almost there." As soon as Chen saw two targets coming toward her that were clearly human, she headed for the echolocation. "Mark, this could become a problem." "What is it now?" "Titanus Tiamat and Manda, a male and a female of the same species. Very aggressive and territorial." "But with Godzilla on board, they shouldn't dare attack, right? " Asked the captain. "Just because he's alpha doesn't mean he can just enter their territory...on top of that, Godzilla lost to Kong and is weakened." Madison knew they were only here to defend their territory, but something was wrong, it seemed like something had upset them, maybe Kong's ship had come close and they had fled. Whatever it was they were angry and on a collision course, unlike the others Madison could feel the vibrations from them all the way into the ship and understand it was a challenge.
"Fire release to all ships as soon as they are in range, form up, expected rendezvous with targets in one minute." He announced by radio to all ships. There were 9 ships, 2 of them battleships, 5 destroyers and 2 carriers around them, from the carrier, combat now launched in the direction of the two Titans.
1 of the battleships and 5 of the destroyers accelerated forward and formed a formation in front of Godzilla's carrier, 2 destroyers and the two carriers on the left and right stayed behind with Godzilla's ship as a defense.
Madison pulled on Mark's arm, he turned to her. "We need to clear Godzilla only so he can protect himself and us even if he is weakened." "Madison this can-" a commotion went through the ship as Godzilla pulled on the chains, they groaned as he pulled wildly and roared, the ship tilted forward slightly.
Manda and Tiamat had arrived, they could still be seen swimming on the surface, they were very long, snake-like titans, like the legends of ancient sea dragons.
Bombs were dropped over Godzilla's ship towards them, the two Titans spotted the objects in the air, dived under and dodged the blast, this was not the first time they had attacked a battleship. All over their bodies were sensory organs with which they could feel electromagnetic fields, temperature changes and vibrations in the water and thus could determine exactly where the ships were or if something was coming at them, much like a shark's sixth sense.
Madison also felt the presence of the two, her feet were tingling, her heart was pounding hard, she grabbed her neck and her pulse was racing, she had to do something but couldn't, as long as Godzilla and her were here on the ship she couldn't do anything.
Tiamat attacked first and lunged out of the water and bit the battleship in the front where his opponent's "head" would be and then snaked around him like a strangler, crushing the ship to pieces. The jets aimed at him and shot missiles, they landed but seemed to have little effect, they pulled a curve away from him but then Manda jumped up out of the water and grabbed one of the jets and crushed, the second crashed into her body and exploded, she then dropped backwards into the water and landed on the second ship in front and it broke in half. Submerged in the water again, Tiamat turned to his partner as she spat out the last pieces of the fighter jet. The two made loud to each other, sounding similar to Wallen's but much more monstrous, only 5 ships and 2 carriers were left.
The two set course directly for their target, but torpedoes were fired in their direction and the two split to dodge, Manda attacking a destroyer to the left of them while Tiamat swam to the right, brushing over one of the destroyers with her tail but not destroying it, and then making another big turn as shots came again from the sides. Now it was directly opposite Godzilla, between the aircraft carrier and battleship.
Slowly Tiamat built up in front of the battleship, shots were fired but seemed to have little effect as Tiamat spread his feet and roared loudly to Godzilla, he returned it, loud enough that everyone on the ship had to cover their ears. "DAD!" Madison shouted to the mark, they had to free Godzilla, he was getting angrier and threatening to tear the ship to pieces, the chains would break soon.
Tiamat lunged down on the battleship with his fangs and pushed it underwater, flinging it back and forth like a wolf that had grabbed a rabbit by the neck, the ship tore in two and Tiamat swam towards Godzilla, his fins and body breaking the surface, his bright eyes crossing eye contact with Godzilla, he hailed the Alpha. He dove under, deep into the ocean. The last thing Madison and the others saw was the tail fin submerging. For a moment it had gone eerily quiet, both Titans were completely submerged, only the sonar still had them on it, they were right below them. Godzilla leaned down to the side, the ship tilted slightly and stared down into the dark blue of the sea.
Mark turned to the captain. "We need to free Godzilla, we have a better chance if he can move freely." "Sure he wouldn't attack us too?" "If he had, he would have done it already!" Said Madison. The captain thought, nodded and went to a lever at the front of the control panel, opened the safety and was about to push it, then Godzilla roared down into water and got a response.
Tiamat jumped out, hit Godzilla against his face, a domino effect was created where the whole ship was now tipping over. Everyone in the bridge tried to hold on as the whole ship turned upside down, it was chaos, people were washed around, the whole room flooded with water, Mark and Ilene tried to get a door open to let some water drain out. Madison was trying to hold her head over a crack of water, through the window she could see Godzilla fighting, in fact he had already gotten his right hand free and had ripped off the chain. Meanwhile Tiamat and Manda circled him and drew a tighter and tighter circle around him. Madison had to crack down and had a plan, she took a deep breath and dove under she swam over to the switch and stood on her head and pulled as hard as she could with her full strength. "COME ON, COME ON!" She screamed into her head, it was stuck and barely moving. In her anger and desperation switched to her titanic strength, Godzilla's like back plates formed of light manifested on her back and she finally pulled the lever. Small explosions were all around Godzilla's arms and neck, it hardly hurt him but finally freed him from the chains, just as Manda bit him in the stomach and pushed him away from the ship, Madison was still enraged and tried to get out and smashed the window with her foot and swam out into the open sea.
Godzilla in the meantime had torn Manda loose from his belly and had grabbed her by the neck, wildly snapping her around and whipping her tail, only inches separated her teeth from his face, he smacked her against the face with an uppercut, Manda roared and let go of him and swam away a bit, Tiamat had come back out of the depths and was about to bite Godzilla's leg, but Madison saw him in her sights and unleashed a shockwave in his direction, knocking him back with it, furious he shook himself. The two sea gods stood off and retreated into the depths, but were far from finished.
Quickly Godzilla swam over to Madison, she drifted in the water, the two were linked again, Godzilla submerged a bit as Madison showed him the current coming from Godzilla made it a bit hard to position her correctly, but eventually she grabbed onto one of the front back plates as he swam by, the current of the water pushed her extremely backwards and made it a bit hard to get a good grip with her feet, but she held on. With deliberation she closed her eyes and touched the back of his neck to send a clear message to him to turn the boat around. Godzilla made a sharp turn to the right towards the carrier swimming underneath, Madison only now got a glimpse of the sheer size of the ship as she looked up, there was various small debris floating around, containers, pieces of the masts but also she saw people, Madison didn't feel good at the sight and turned away, she felt cold running down her spine and that apart from water of the sea. Instead, she looked down into the depths of the ocean. It was clear water and seemed to have no end, all the way down into the darkness, no light penetrated there anymore, only a few life forms walked around there, but in the darkness she saw the forms of Manda and Tiamat swimming around, she should hurry.
Godzilla turned to face the ship and swam up to the surface, Maddie readied herself and held onto him tightly, practically pressing against his skin. As they broke the surface of the water she leaned her face slightly away as a whole gush flowed down her. At the top Madison felt the cold wind brush over her, the light of the sun blinding her slightly as she blinked and wiped water from her face, she hadn't realized how long she had been underwater.
Godzilla grabbed the other side of the ship with his arm and turned it around once, just as Madison had told him to.
Just in time, any more time and the others would have just drowned, Mark and Ilene held on as the ship was turned around, the water slowly drained, Ilene had to cough up a good bit of water.
Mark limped disoriented over to the glass that was broken, as others in the meantime found their footing again and tried to bring order back to the ship. With all his strength he held on to the stray field in front of him and looked out of the broken pane that Maddie had kicked in, the ship had practically become just a floating raft, they wouldn't get anywhere with it, but they didn't need to because Godzilla was on his feet again. Mark looked up at him, for a long time he had not looked at the king so, angry but self-confident. On top of his head Mark could see Madison, she stood erect, with her Mothra wings formed of a turquoise light, and looked forward as if what was below her did not matter, confident as Godzilla. His little angel was growing up, Mark thought.
A short rumble came again as Godzilla pushed away from the ship further into the open water, behind him a destroyer ship.
Something moved under him, a strange current tried to pull him down, but for now he was able to resist it. Madison crouched down to get a better look of what was down there. Then she saw it, the water was slowly forming in a spiral around her, this was one of the abilities Tiamat had, triggering underwater tornadoes to pull his opponent and prey deep down to the bottom.
If the tornado formed completely it could pull all the rest of the ship down with it, they had to prevent that. "Godzilla, swim down!" She shouted to him, he didn't seem to notice the current of the water around him even now, and slowly he fought against being pulled down. But he also knew how to beat this storm, you had to dive down in it. He roared loudly and leaned down, diving down again. Madison took a deep breath and changed her aura to the Godzilla like one, her power would protect her from the dangers of the sea, at least she hoped so. Head over heels Godzilla swam down, his arms close to his body, with his tail he gave push forward, his legs regulated the direction, he moved similar to an iguana. Madison released her hold underfoot, drifting backwards a bit and instead grabbed onto a larger back plate, the feel of it was very rough and edgy.
The underwater tornado was getting stronger and pulling him down faster and faster, it was getting dangerous for Madison and her pressure equalization, but she felt her titanic power balancing it all out and attacking against it. Pale air rose from below, Godzilla saw Tiamat and Manda swimming in a circle on top of each other, their fins glistening in the almost dark depths. Godzilla decided to attack Tiamat first, roaring at his rival, who only now noticed the large shadow coming towards him and hoisted himself up to meet him, whipping up high like a snake. Madison got ready for a collision and put her legs back on Godzilla's back, the plates started pulsing in waves, an intimidation attempt, but Tiamat didn't back down.
As the two collided a shock wave was unleashed destroying the water tornado, water pale and current made it hard for Madison to see as she held on with all her might, but then she saw Tiamat powerful jaws swim up past her, in her mind she was still linked to Godzilla, Images and imprints flowed from Madison into Godzilla, she was now like a second pair of eyes to him, he took advantage of this superiority and bit into Tiamat's flank, the jaws clamped shut in the middle of the body, blood gushed out and welled up some of the water into a dark cloud. The sea titan roared angrily in pain and shook as it pulled through the neck, Godzilla took this opportunity and turned back up and grabbed Tiamat with his hands and pushed him up to the surface.
Of course he fought back and lashed out with his tail and wriggled around Godzilla, Madison was almost crushed if she hadn't dodged in time and held on to the biggest back plate, she saw Manda start to follow them.
Godzilla continued to accelerate upwards and broke through the water together with Tiamat caught in a fight, the two were now between the destroyer and aircraft carrier, Madison hung on to Godzilla's back plate just above the deck of the carrier and didn't even think about it and jumped down, the fear of falling was long gone from her, the will to fight was far stronger. As she landed at the bottom two jets flew just past her, there were hardly any people on the flight deck and the ones that were there were just running wild with panic and unsure what to do and right in front of them Tiamat and Godzilla were wrestling. A small explosion came from the other side of the ship, something had broken through the surface of the water again, Madison turned and saw Manda rising from the water, she roared and hissed loudly, a true water dragon.
Manda was already moving to help her partner, maybe even do the job, but her attention was drawn by something bright down on the ship. Madison glowed again with her Mothra aura and looked Manda high in the eye, challenging the Titan, one on one. Manda let her forked tongue slide out of her mouth and hissed, the fins on her sides spread and she plunged down into water, swimming along the surface, the nasal barble stretched back a bit, Manda had 4 of them, two on top right by her nose, two down by her mouth, just like Tiamat.
The bright yellow glowing eyes sparkled at Madison as she assumed a fighting stance.
Manda attacked the carrier just as the other ships had done before, first it submerged, positioned itself underwater, then reappeared to Madison's right, there was the bow of the massive USS Saratoga. Slowly the sea goddess snaked around the massive belly of the ship, like a strangler snake it would slowly squeeze and then try to bite where the opponent's windpipe or head would be. Madison carefully and slowly took steps back as the ground beneath her began to groan, slowly the bow would break away.
Slowly she wondered what she was doing here, only a few days ago she was thinking of leading a normal life, now she was in the middle of a battlefield, but she had chosen that herself, did she want that though? Somehow she had not quite realized what had just happened, until now she had only acted on instinct. Then she remembered why and clenched her fists, she wanted to help others, help Godzilla, protect.
Manda roared loudly and dashed down to her with teeth straight into the concrete and steel of the ship, but Madison jumped to the side, quite a distance even, as she had done on Skull Island to escape Kong. Then she jumped back again, onto Manda's head. The titan noticed how this, child, was walking on him and stood upright again, Manda spun around and tried to shake Madison off. But she held on as tight as she could and when they were in the position she had been waiting for, she released her wings in an impulse, from a distance it looked like a blue shockwave spreading out. The kinetic energy that emanated from it actually hurt Manda quite a bit and stunned her for a second, it made them both fall back into the water and let go of the ship.
Dazed, the Titan sank back into the water, Madison was also back in the water but tried not to sink so low and looked at her challenger, she was a little proud of what she had accomplished. Round 1 went to Madison. Slowly Manda regained consciousness, shook and blinked a few times, swimming around to regain her bearings. She released breath to form a wall of water pales around her, soon Madison was already enveloped by it and she couldn't see anymore at first she wanted to swim back up to the surface to catch her breath, but the air pales around her gave her new breath again. Manda slowly broke out of the wall, but she had long since wriggled around Madison. The two partners of two great titans looked at each other, Madison was a little unsure what would happen now, but in fact she had gained Manda's respect, she would not have expected that a small creature like Maddie could harm her, the moment was very briefly peaceful between the two. But obviously the fight was not over yet, when from above Godzilla came crashing down with Tiamat, causing them to fall through the Saratoga, which gave the bow the rest. He punched Tiamat and bit him on the neck, but let go as soon as he saw Manda Madison wriggling around. As if startled, he jerked his head back and roared at Manda, his tail whipping forward through the water toward her, kicking Tiamat in the face with his feet.
Like an animal gone wild Godzilla crashed into Manda and tore her away from Madison, the two wrestling around again, Manda was actually a bit faster than her better half and was able to glide out of Godzilla's paws like an eel. Whip with her tail against, from side to flanks to stomach again. As Godzilla took the blows, she swam behind him in a flash and bit the alpha's neck.
Madison had narrowly swam away again and decided to swim up and tried to swim back to the ship, but now another Titan stood in her way, over her sponge Tiamat, he was very large, slightly more than Manda, the two balanced each other out with their powers. Tiamat was more brute strength and had the stronger abilities, Manda was more agile and designed for elegance, like ying and yang they balanced their powers, a reason why the pair had survived and proven themselves together for a thousand years.
He cut her off from the other fight, now he challenged Madison, this little creature had grabbed his curiosity, it was able to resist them, which no human had ever really done, even other Titans had problems with it, it could well be that Tiamat had the potential to become an Alpha.
At first he just watched the little creature swim in the water, waiting to see what it would do as the massive body wriggled around them. In all the commotion of the fight Madison had not gotten a proper look from Tiamat, now she saw this creature in its full glory, lines of fins were on the body, even though it may not seem so, these were very sharp and had already drawn wounds in Godzilla. Even if they were weapons did not prevent the rest of the streamlined body to move agilely in the water, Manda was perhaps faster and more agile, but also Tiamat was a master in the water her true element. With their barbels on the upper and lower jaws, the appearance of Tiamat and Manda was reminiscent of those of Eastern myths and depictions of dragons. Chen once said that they were divine creatures that were worshipped because they brought forgiveness, wisdom and also strength.
Madison got ready for an attack and watched around her it could come from the side, or from all, if the titan decided to tighten the noose. Then she noticed change in the movements, Tiamat slowed down and bared its teeth slightly, as if from one second to the next dashed straight at her, not even thinking about an attack from behind. For Madison it went so fast, the big mouth almost swallowed her, but with a skillful push with the help of an impulse from her feet she dodged. But only a few meters separated her from the titan. Instinctively, she reached for one of the bartels that passed her by and grabbed it. This was a very sensitive organ for Tiamat and Madison knew it, she pressed on it and released her energy, it itched and ached all through the giant titan's nervous system. With her feet she released another blast of energy from below and positioned herself directly on top of Tiamat's head, with full force she also grabbed the two whiskers as it came into range, it felt like she was just trying to hold two halves of a mountain together. She let her energy run more freely, her eyes, veins and hair glowing blue, until now she had not dared to let this power run too far over her body.
With her back, she leaned back and pulled on the whiskers, causing Tiamat to move upward. In anger and confusion at the pain caused by this small child, Tiamat jumped out of the water, several feet in the air.
When they were at the peak, a good 40 meters or so, the impressions of the world slowed down for Madison, the wind, the clouds, the sea all seemed not real and slower than her, it was all just instinctive impressions, her inner power released her completely, she had almost forgotten her own name, it was a wild, unknown side of her she hardly knew yet, full of feelings like anger, hate, determination. Things that had always shaped her, but still it was a new feeling, she was stripped of the fear she felt at these events. Madison took this other side...no this wasn't a "second side" it was her, this was now the real her, she didn't need to tell herself otherwise, she didn't need to hide from herself and lie to herself anymore. Moreover, she was not alone, she had not gained her strength alone, others had helped her to get it, one of them was also there for her now.
As Tiamat plunged back into the sea, Godzilla raced out of the depths of the sea, his eyes glowing blue, his roar resounding over the entire battlefield, he had defeated Manda, and would finish the fight. He was on the long body of the water dragon, about where the belly would lie and pushed him with his almost 90,000 tons under water Madison held only until she could land safely in the water again, immediately she swam up to the surface and immediately over to Godzilla back. Everything went haywire so quickly as she was thrust into the middle of this battle. Tiamat pulled Godzilla back under the water, Madison took another deep breath as they went down, but then the Alpha caught him by the throat and choked him as Tiamat tried to wrap around his right leg, then Godzilla kicked him off with his left. Madison kept low on Godzilla's back and more or less climbed up through the small forest of slabs, around her mountains were just crashing into each other trying to kill each other, maybe she could lessen the damage a bit. As a last protection Tiamat let out a poisonous steam from his mouth directly into Godzilla's eyes and throat. Wildly and furiously he lashed out as Tiamat escaped him, even paying no attention to Madison, momentarily blinded, confused and stressed he roared underwater, even muffled by tons of water it was still so loud. Madison could still hear something behind her, a soft but clear hum, from his anger and stress he charged his atomic breath. But she didn't want that, uncontrolled it would only cause more damage. Mindful of the toxic steam, she climbed right out onto his head, knelt down and pressed her hand to his forehead and closed her eyes, concentrating. "Easy...remember what I told you, I'm here. We can do this." The two linked again, Madison could feel his heartbeat, it was exhausting to maintain this connection like this, but he calmed down again, got away from running amok, even if the fight wasn't over yet.
But Madison again served as a second set of eyes, with their direct connections he could see through her eyes. They saw Tiamat coming right at them, it had formed a vortex of water around it that was coming at the target like a racket, the target in this case being Godzilla and Madison.
It didn't take two seconds then Maddie already knew what they had to do to win, it depended on the exact timing but she was sure it should work. The two got into their positions, Godzilla with his arms ready to pounce, his tail turned slightly to the left. Maddie waited "...3...2...1...Now."
When Tiamat was in range Godzilla lashed out and slammed his tail full force against him, a powerful blow that set off a shockwave that went through all the water, several hundred meters, it knocked Tiamat down into the deep ocean as he was knocked out by it. Puffs of air, debris drifted all through the ocean around them, foaming up at the top. It knocked the steam away from Godzilla eyes, he could see again, but also it threw Madison away, a little forward she was jolted by a current, almost hit by a piece of debris, she pushed it away from her, swam a little to the side and looked around, Godzilla was a little further behind her, scratching his head a little still to get rid of the last remnants of the poison. She swam again in the open water, but somewhat satisfied for the moment, it was over, at least that's what she thought.
In front of her again a mass of air pale formed, as before with Manda it gave her new breath, this almost ran out again, the dragon thrust into the depths came back up and came face to face. His clear, yellow glowing eyes, similar to those of a deep sea fish, her blue glowing eyes, sign of her strenght.
Tiamat looked at her, watching her movements. He did not see Madison as prey, but now recognized her as an equal, even if she was still growing.
Madison received an impression from him, similar to what she could get from Godzilla, she didn't quite understand it, Tiamat was very distant to humans, didn't know exactly how to make it understandable. But as she got the impression, it was a sign of respect. Madison nodded to him.
Tiamat then turned around, Madison could see very well the injuries Godzilla had caused. It was good that they had managed without atomic breath, for now. Manda swam past her and joined her partner, the two of them giving each other a gentle guest. She just watched in fascination and studied them, making thoughts and notes in her head about the two titans. After a short time they were already disappeared in the vastness of the ocean, perhaps they would meet again one day.
For today she had more than enough, slowly she felt the effects of fatigue and stress, now that the fight was over, she had used so much energy, there was nothing more, juice was out, no adrenaline, titanium power dizzied, muscles hurt. With difficulty she swam back up to the surface. At the top she heard so many sounds muffled by the water, ship's horns, sirens, engines. They had landed between the main transporter and the destroyer. It was a little further away but she had to swim to it, when she was halfway there she thought about how she could get up, who was still alive. It scared her. But she was lucky, under her it started to rush and she felt how she gained some height. Godzilla appeared and gave her a little ride on the head. She didn't say anything, not even in her thoughts, but just smiled and let herself fall backwards, exhausted, Godzilla looked up at her, squinting a little, but he too was now satisfied, not only with having won as Alpha, but also with Madison, the first time they had fought side by side like this.
Finally they were back at the main transporter, Madison standing up a bit shakily though. Godzilla put his head down just as perfectly that she just had to go over his snout and directly she was on the ship. As soon as she touched the bottom of it, she sat down and took a deep breath in and out and stared at Godzilla. He wouldn't have to be able to get up on the ship for now, but he didn't have to and that was good, she never wanted to see him chained up again.
As always, Madison began to think about many different things, about the people who had given their lives here, why Manda and Tiamat attacked, how it could continue, they had to free the others from Apex's clutches.
And this wrap up Chapter 8, sorry it took this long again, irl stuff is making it bussy and I myself was kinda shying away from this, I'm not good with writing fight scenes to be completely honest. I will probably need to edit also a bit with spelling mistakes due to translation error stuff, but now I'm doing a little break. Next view chapters are gonna be more chill and laid back cooling, please do leave a review so I can get some feedback on stuff, I've noticed less people interact with the story nowadays. Anyway, have a great day and I hope you enjoyed.
