The following morning, when Summer woke, she also woke up team RWBY. Ruby smiled, knowing that what happened the night before was no dream. She hugged Summer before she got up from bed and took a shower.
An hour later, team RWBY headed to class. Meanwhile, Summer headed to the top of Beacon tower to speak with Ozpin. Once there, she didn't expect to see Qrow. Ozpin, Qrow and Glynda were surprised at who they were looking at.
"S-Summer?!" Qrow said. He then looked at his flask. "I think I've had enough for today. I'm starting to hallucinate".
"I'm not your hallucination, Qrow," Summer said. "I'm as real as real can get. It's good to see you again".
"N-No! This can't be!" Qrow said. "H-How are you here?! Twelve years! Twelve years with no word from you…No, something's not right. You don't look a day over twenty-four. Who the hell are you?!".
"I'm real, and I'm Summer, Qrow," Summer said. "I'm here to speak to Ozpin about how I'm here".
"Are you really Summer Rose?" Ozpin asked. Summer nodded at him. "If that's true, then what happened to you, and how is it you still look as young as the day you disappeared?".
"I died, Ozpin," Summer answered. "There is no doubt about it. I remember being in the afterlife watching Yang and Ruby grow up. I also watched Tai breakdown for so long. I'd like to thank you, Qrow. Yang and Ruby wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for you. You saved their life that day".
"I know what you're all thinking right now," Summer said. This made Ozpin raise his eyebrow. "I won't tell you who it was that brought me back to life. I won't betray that person's trust in me. But know that I'm here, and I'm real. However, I don't know if I'm ready to continue fighting the war with Salem. This time, I don't want any regrets, and I'm not willing to leave Ruby, Yang and Tai again".
Ozpin kept insisting on asking Summer how she came back to life. Qrow and Glynda didn't like how Ozpin was being pushy since Summer just came back. As much as they wanted to figure things out, they didn't want to push things too far like what Ozpin was trying to do. Slowly, Glynda and Qrow's respect and trust for Ozpin were diminishing.
Qrow texted Tai to meet him at Beacon as soon as possible. At first, Tai kept responding that he was teaching a class and couldn't leave. But after Qrow texted him that it had something to do with Yang and Ruby, which isn't a lie since it's about their mother coming back to life, he dashed out of his class and informed the head of Signal that he had a family emergency. Once at Beacon, Tai immediate hounded Qrow.
"What's going on, Qrow?!" Tai said in a panic. "Did something happen to Ruby and Yang?! Please tell me they're okay?!".
"Whoa! Whoa! Calm down, Tai," Qrow said. "It's not bad news. In fact, it's good news".
"Hello, Tai," Summer said. She then proceeded to punch him in the face. "I love you and all. But that's for almost getting Ruby and Yang killed due to your negligence".
Summer then helped Tai up. She hugged him and told him that she loved and missed him once more.
"S-Summer?! What's going on?!" Tai said. "I'm not hallucinating due to being concussed from a punch, right?".
"You're fine, Tai," Summer said. "And I'm finally back to you and the girls".
"I missed you so much, Summer," Tai said. "Where have you been all this year?".
Summer then explained everything to Tai as she did for Ozpin and the others. She kept Jaune and the others involved in her return. Tai couldn't believe that someone was out there that brought her back to life, he thought it was the doing of a God, but Summer told her it wasn't the god's doing.
"It's good to have you back, Summer," Tai said. "Have you met the girls already?".
"I did," Summer said. "I made sure that they went to class today after taking a shower".
With Jaune, he was currently in class for Grimm Studies. Port was a great teacher. All his stories may sound useless, but if one takes their time to analyse the stories, it's riddled with hints on the behaviour and weaknesses of the Grimm told in the stories.
"Haruhime, how are you liking it here?" Jaune asked. "I hope you're enjoying your time".
"I am," Haruhime said with a smile. "I've never expected to be in an academy. Back in Orario, these types of lectures are only available for nobles".
Jaune nodded at Haruhime. He then looked at Ren, Nora and Pyrrha.
"Hey, guys?" Jaune called. Ren, Nora and Pyrrha looked at Jaune. "What are your plans for this coming semester break?".
"Ren and I aren't doing anything," Nora said. "We plan to stay here at Beacon for the most part and head to Vale when we get bored".
"I'm planning to visit my family in Argus," Pyrrha said. "I miss my parents".
"How about you, fearless leader?" Nora asked. "What are your plans?".
"I'm heading back home as well," Jaune said. "My family is probably panicking from my disappearance".
"What?!" Pyrrha, Ren and Nora said at the same time.
"Right, I never told anyone. Pyrrha, remember when I told you that my father refused to train me?" Jaune said. Pyrrha nodded. "Well, I decided since they didn't want to support me, then that's fine. If they don't want to support me, they don't have to. I'll achieve my dream on my own. That's what went through my head and the reason I ran away from home".
"Did you contact your family since then?" Nora asked. "It's not right to make them worry about you".
"Don't worry," Jaune said. "The moment I got in Beacon, I told them that I was here. The reason why I'm heading home is due to them telling me to come back during the semester break".
Jaune and co then concentrated on their class. Meanwhile, Ozpin in his office was confused at the irregularity of things. First is another person being able to use magic, not just one, but two. Then, the new girl that Jaune asked permission to stay at Beacon. Not long ago, he met her and felt magic from her, and it was more powerful than his in his prime. Now, it was the resurrection of Summer Rose. He didn't know what was happening.
"I don't understand what's happening," Ozpin said to himself. "How are there so many new variables in play?".
"What's happening?" Ozpin asked himself. "Are the Gods responsible for this? No, they said they wouldn't return as their experiment was a failure…Then again, the God of Light did return for a brief moment when he brought me back to life and gave me the four relics to take care of".
"That God of Light is nothing more than a hypocrite," Ozpin said. "If he just brought me back to life, then this wouldn't have happened. In the end, it happened, and he brought me back to life anyway. They are Gods, yet they couldn't predict such an outcome. Unless it was their plan all along and their experiment is still ongoing".
"This is getting me nowhere," Ozpin said. "I need fresh air".
Ozpin stood up from his seat and came down from his tower. He then took a walk at the Beacon courtyard. There he saw Tai, Summer and Qrow catching up. Ozpin knew that Summer wasn't lying when she said that she died because when she described the afterlife, it was the same place he was in when he died for the first time.
"The God of Light said that bringing people back to life is breaking the balance," Ozpin said. "If that's the case, isn't giving Salem and me a form of immortality breaking the balance? Maybe the so-called balance isn't real in the first place…No, the balance is definitely real. It's just not as fragile as the God of Light made it out to be. A single life is not enough to break the balance. No, even a thousand lives may not be enough to break the balance".
Ozpin was contemplating things that happened in his long life. He didn't know what to think anymore. Ozpin had no way of beating Salem.
