It was midnight, and there was nothing good on TV. The best they had seen so far was old reruns of All in the Family. Olivia jammed at the remote in frustration, but finally came upon something she liked.

" Luke and Lorelei are by far the cutest TV couple," Olivia smiled at Elliot.

" My 14 year old daughter watches this," Elliot grimaced. " Change the channel."

" No!" Olivia squirmed away, as Elliot wrapped his arms around her, making a play for the remote.

" You know, I usually don't let other people hold the remote," Elliot pointed out, giving up.

" Other women or other people?" Olivia questioned, raising her eyebrows.

" Liv, I would think by now, you would know that I hold women in the same respect I hold men!" Elliot countered, but it seemed Liv was more interested in what was going on in Gilmore Girls.

A somewhat awkward silence ensued, and Olivia rested her head on Elliot's broad shoulder.

While Olivia got comfortable, Elliot quickly snatched the remote from under her elbow where it lay.

Olivia groaned.

" Sucks sharing a couch with a cop doesn't it?" Elliot laughed.

" Did you forget I was a cop too?" Olivia asked.

" Well you certainly weren't showing off your skills on that one," Elliot replied, waving the stolen remote in her face.

Liv groaned, and once again got comfortable.

Elliot quickly changed the channel, until he found something HE liked.

" Now that's what I'm talking about," Elliot declared, looking triumphantly at Olivia.

" The X-Files?" Olivia gaped.

" Now that's a cute TV couple. Mulder and Scully," Elliot stared intently at the screen.

" You never cease to amaze me, El," Olivia shook her head.

" Well I can't run out of material, or else you might not keep me around!" Elliot teased.

" You'd have to do something pretty dumb for me to get rid of you. But I wouldn't put it past you," Liv playfully punched his shoulder.

Elliot just smiled.

" You know who else is a cute couple?" Elliot asked.

Olivia turned on her side to look at the face she so adored.

" Who?"

" Us."

Olivia stopped breathing.

" And how's that?" was all she could muster.

She tried to take it lightly. She couldn't.

" We're perfect. We're just like Mulder and Scully!"

Olivia laughed, to mask how she was really feeling. Could he really just have said they were perfect?

"… and we're partners," apparently Elliot was still talking.

Liv was determined not to take it to heart.

" And you, my friend, are crazy. Just like Mulder," Olivia stood up.

" And you're rational just like Scully," Elliot stood up as well.

" I think you've been here long enough," Olivia shoved her hands into her back pocket.

Leave before I kiss you, Elliot.

Elliot grabbed his jacket. I have to kiss her, he thought. But all he could do was shake his head, and walk out the door.
