"So...how do we start?" Luca said placing both hands on his hips, as both he and Street stared at the mess in the newly bought house.

"Um.." Street began, shrugging his shoulders. "I've got no clue, buddy."

There was trash, debris and all sorts of leftovers in the closed up space. Even though the house was pretty spacious it was only because they were using their imagination because at the moment it looked more like a small landfill. The biggest issue wasn't the condition of the house, it was the two men in charge of remodeling it just because neither had any type of handyman skill let alone experience. They were eager to get started but they weren't anything like Mario and Luigi!

"Man, this is gonna be the best place ever! I can feel it" Luca said super excited, clapping and moving around the space.

"It might be the asbestos you're feeling." Street said with a smirk.

Luca had been blabbing on and on about how he was going to turn this place into the ultimate man cave, filled with all kinds of stuff for them to relax and enjoy their free time from work. He was the Don Quixote of the adventure, while Street stood back and reminded him that they weren't giants but windmills he was looking at. He had no idea how Luca could be so excited when neither one of them had a clue of what to do!

"C'mon, bro. Can't you see the potential?" Luca said over excited, opening his arms wide to gesture the mess of a kitchen in front of him.

"I might, if I knew what I was doing!" Street said skeptical

Luca moved around, telling him all the things he wanted to do and have and place and complete...and all Street could do was cringe! It was very hard to believe it would become real because the place really needed a lot of work, exactly what neither him nor Luca knew how to do.

"Luca, are you sure about this? Neither one of us knows how to build anything!" Street was beginning to be concerned about the money and effort.

"Aw, c'mon man! This isn't nothing Youtube can't teach us!" Luca said, still looking around. "First, we need to clear everything out, so Chris' uncle can start with the front wall and the ceiling."

"Ok." Street was relieved that he could at least do that.

Chris had stopped by earlier that day and called her uncle who promised to help patch the huge whole in the front wall where Luca wanted to place the flat screen TV, and fix the ceiling. So, both men grabbed a pack of bags and began picking up every trash, debris and junk they could find. After hours and hours of filling out trash bags, Street took a seat in one of the front stairs. He was beat! He took out his cellphone and found a missing text from Chris.

How's the house work going?

I'm exhausted and we still have a lot to go. This is impossible!

lol ?

c'mon, Street! It's a one story 2 bedroom house, not a mansion!

I'm tired, Chris. I can't feel my back!
?

?

Quit it!

I've never ever done house work like this before

All you had to do was clean, Street. No building or restructuring or even painting.

So? ? It's still tiring and boring.

Two hours and more trash bags later, Street was back at the front step. His shirt was drenched of sweat as the LA heat was felt throughout the house, which only counted with just a few windows that actually opened for ventilation. It truly felt like a furnace with all the work to be done, plus the heat and the lack of ventilation. Street was amazed at the amount of energy Luca still had! He was working on what would become his room, which was almost ready for the ceiling and painting by now. Street had the lateral room from the kitchen, which really didn't matter much to him. He was wishing for a queen size bed at the moment with running water in the bathroom for a cold cold shower.

"We'll have to buy some new windows for sure." Luca agreed nodding his head, appearing with two more trash bags in hand

"Windows? Try AC, Luca! We'll melt if we don't get real ventilation in this place!" Street complained, dumping some of the water from his bottle down the back of his neck. He tried relaxing in the front step, but his whole body ached...plus he smelled like a pig taken out of the mud after hours of rain!

"Hey, you know what? I bet we could install it ourselves. I mean, how tough could it be? Just choose a place in the ceiling and place a it, right?" Luca said, staring at one side of the main room.

"Uh... are you sure?" Street was not liking the idea at all

"Yeah! Yeah, that's what we'll do. Electricity will be on in the next hour." he paused as he dumped the bags in the side of the front porch, "Gives us enough time-"

"Luca!"

"...to buy the unit and install it-"

"Luca"

"...ourselves. Wont be a problem for Chris' uncle and his crew-"

"Luca!"

"...coz we can pick a spot in the ceiling that doesn't need that much work."

"LUCA!"

"What is it, man?"

"Are you out of your mind? We don't know anything about installing an AC!" said Street annoyed

"Relax, I've seen videos. It's simple. Piece of cake. C'mon!" said Luca super excited, waving him off. The officer took out his car keys from his pocket and raced to his truck.

BOOM!

CRAAASSSH

BAAANG!

BOOOOOONG! BOOOONG! BOOOONG

BZZZZZZZZZZZ

Peeeeeewwwww, PLAT!

"Alright guys, here we go! Remember, they're friends of my niece, so be nice!" Uncle Sarzo said parking in front of the old house

"Just some drywall and ceiling leaks, right?" asked Thomas stepping out of the pickup

"Yeah, a couple of hours and we're outta here!"Uncle Sarzo lamented

"Perfect" Thomas said wanting to get it over with

They took out a couple of bags and tools, and made their way to the front of the house. They were stunned to find the door was missing. Uncle Sarzo was the first one to notice the disaster inside.

"What the hell happened?!" he said with a mix of fear, surprise and dreadfulness. The others froze behind him.

The entire wall was laying on the floor, in pieces, as two huge boxes lay in the middle of the space. Luca sprung from behind one of them, holding a wrench in one hand and the instructions manual in the other. Street was resting against the far back wall, staring at Luca and shaking his head.

"Hey, man! We decided to get started before time. Save you a couple of hours!"

"What in the world did you do?!" Sarzo asked, with everybody else now looking around the front entry

"Uh... me and Street got to work on the AC units. We got these massive things here, but since they didn't fit the door, we just took it out and then just took out the whole wall altogether. Less patching!" he was talking so fast, everybody's jaw kept dropping more and more in disbelief.

He noticed the scared looks and the way Sarzo shook his head, "What's wrong?"

"You realize that big unit goes outside of the house, not inside, right?"

"Oops!" Luca said as he pinched his lower lip, turning towards Street, who came rushing in with an angry expression on his face.

"Are you serious?" Street asked staring at the construction crew, as he grabbed his head with both hands.
