The following morning, Jaune was resting in his bed. The previous night, after the fight with Scáthach, his mother scolded him about the stupidity of his actions. However, she was also proud of him for getting together with Scáthach.
Currently, Scáthach is sitting in a chair beside Jaune's bed. She was tending to Jaune because, unlike her, Jaune doesn't magically get healed from the inflicted wounds of Gáe Bolg Alternative. Well, she did suffer a bit and was immobile for a while until Jaune destroyed Gáe Buidhe, eliminating the curse of the spear. This allowed Scáthach to heal with supernatural speed, her severed limbs regenerated.
Outside the door of Jaune's room, the Arc sisters were watching Jaune and Scáthach. They can see Jaune converse with Scáthach, and they saw the one thing they really want to see.
Scáthach kissed Jaune on the lips. However, after kissing Jaune, Scáthach looked at the door. The Arc sisters saw this, and they bolted.
"See, I told you they'd leave after they saw what they wanted," Jaune said. "Then again, it's possible they were scared of you".
"Oh, please. You just wanted a kiss from me…Thank you, Jaune," Scáthach said. She then kissed him again. "For everything. You were able to change the way I viewed the world. You made me feel like I'm more than just a killer of man, wraith and gods. I felt like I was more".
"Hey, I'm glad I met you as well," Jaune said. "What I saw in your memories was what motivated me to train to the level I am now".
Meanwhile, at Beacon. Qrow and Glynda were tending to Amber, the Fall Maiden.
"Psst! Glynda. Tell me, are you really interested in Jaune?" Qrow asked. "I know that you said you only have a professional relationship but is that really all?".
"Yes, Qrow," Glynda said with a roll of her eye. "Jaune's a great person. However, I'm his professor, I'm not into dating a student".
"Okay, let's say he's not your student," Qrow said. "Would you date him if he asks you out? And also, you can't really call him your student if he's the one teaching you something. If anything, you're the student".
"…No, Qrow. I wouldn't," Glynda said with hesitation. "Our age difference is too far apart".
While Qrow and Glynda were talking, Amber woke up.
"We need to call Oz," Qrow said. "He would have questions for her".
"She just woke up, Qrow," Glynda said. "I think we should let her rest".
"I agree with you, but you know how dire our situation is," Qrow said. "We need to know if she saw the face of her assailant".
"I know, it's just… she's already been through a lot," Glynda said. "The least we can do is let her have a proper rest for a while longer without Ozpin or anyone hounding on her".
Qrow left the room and headed to Ozpin to inform him of the awakening of the Fall Maiden. Ozpin didn't wait a second before heading to the location of Amber. He needed to find out the identity of the person that was able to steal the Fall Maiden's power.
When Ozpin arrived in front of Amber, he started asking questions.
"I can't remember," Amber said. "Some of my memories are missing. All I remember is that I saw a little girl in the road and tried to help her, but it turns out that it was nothing more than an illusion".
"Try and remember," Ozpin said. "This is important. We need to retrieve the stolen power".
"I can't! There's a massive hole in my memories!" Amber shouted. "I've tried to remember! I just can't. I don't know what you don't understand".
While Ozpin was forcefully interrogating Amber, Cinder and her cohorts arrived in the Land of Darkness, where Salem resides. Cinder headed to the room where they had their meeting.
"Mistress, I've returned," Cinder said. "I'm sorry that the plan had failed".
"I know, I received the message," Now, tell me, Cinder. What happened?".
"Everything was going fine. I was able to steal half the power of the Maiden before Qrow Branwen was able to interfere," Cinder said. "We were able to get the cooperation of the White Fang. However, the moment we arrived at Beacon, things went downhill.
Watts' program failed. It was detected by the CCTS and was deleted, even the original program. Then we have the Mt Glenn operation. For some reason, Qrow was able to get information on it. He was able to raid the place and arrest most of the White Fang. Those who weren't arrested were killed, even one of my people, Roman Torchwick".
"Watts…" Salem called. She stared at him. "I thought you said that your program was a guaranteed entry to the CCTS? Now, how is it that Cinder's infiltration of the CCTS was a failure? Do you have anything to say for yourself?".
"I…I have none," Watts said. "With Atlas arrogance and pride for their creation, I thought I'd be able to exploit that and model a virus targeting the weakness of the CCTS system that I work with".
"Ha-ha-ha-ha! You're all nothing but failures!" Tyrian mocked. "Cinder was so confident that she would be able to accomplish the mission and Watts was confident in his virus. Turns out none of your confidence had merit. Ha-ha-ha-ha!".
"Now, now, Tyrian," Salem said. "Their failure isn't entirely their fault. I think there is something or someone in play, a new player. All of this couldn't be a coincidence, especially when things started to go downhill when Cinder entered Beacon.
However, I doubt that idiot Ozpin is responsible for this. No, that man is as arrogant as any other person. He probably didn't think that one of the students in his precious school was an enemy. No, this has to have been done by a third player".
"What's your order, Mistress?" Cinder asked. "I'll do everything according to your order".
"For now, we need to figure out the third player in this game of cat and mouse," Salem said. "We need to figure out what this person's agenda is and if we can exploit him. Show me all the files that you've collected from Beacon".
Salem looked through all the data, and none of them stood out. Except for Jaune Arc, not because of the data, but because of the Arc name. Salem remembers some of their members since they gave her a hard time a long time ago.
With Jaune, he asked Alice to spin the Gacha for him.

Jaune then took out the new Gáe Bolg. He was astonished at the new design. Well, it mostly looks the same, but the barbed design and the circles on the spearhead have become gold. The feeling one gets when looking at the spear is far more intense than before.
"Gáe Bolg…No, it's much more powerful than before," Scáthach said. "What did you do to give it such power?".
"I fused it with a spear known as Gungnir," Jaune said. "According to Alice, Gungnir was a weapon from a king known as Odin. It was quite powerful and has the power to control something known as the Bifrost and use cosmic energy".
"You fused the Gungnir with Gáe Bolg?" Scáthach said. "What is it capable of now?".
"Everything that Gáe Bolg and Gungnir can do," Jaune said. "Want to give it a try?".
"If you don't mind," Scáthach said. While holding on to the new Gáe Bolg, Scáthach can tell that she can't use its power. "This spear isn't allowing me to use the power within it. I think it recognises you alone as its wielder".
Jaune then asks Scáthach if she wants to spar with him. Jaune received a knock on the head. Scáthach told him that he hadn't even recovered, and he was already thinking of fighting again. Though, Scáthach was the same, as she has a genuine fondness for battle. She wanted to challenge the new form of Gáe Bolg.
