Menagerie. This was the first time Jaune had been to this place before. Looking around, Jaune noticed that people were staring at the group. Though, for some reason, when their eyes landed on him, they would look away. Jaune has no idea why.
"Hey, Blake?" Jaune called. "Is there a reason why they seem to look away from me?".
"It's because of our instinct," Blake said. "Before we headed to Orario, I felt something within you change. I was having an internal panic when I saw you then, but I knew that you meant no harm, so I was able to control my instincts".
"Is it that bad?" Jaune said. "If it's that bad, then I don't think I should stay here since everyone is a Faunus here".
"It's not as bad as you think," Blake said. "It wouldn't take long until they get used to your presence. Besides, you're not planning on hurting anyone".
Jaune and the group continued their walk to their destination. When they arrived, they saw the house was huge. Jaune and Weiss were the only ones who didn't seem shocked since they have big houses.
"Whoa! Blake! Are you a princess!" Ruby said, forgetting that Weiss was an heiress. "This house is huge!".
"I'm not a princess, Ruby," Blake said. She then thought about it. "I don't think…so…".
Blake then knocked on the door with the giant door knocker. Ruby and the others were thinking about why they used a door knocker instead of an electronic bell. But Jaune knew, from looking around, he could tell that Menagerie wasn't getting the same technology as the other kingdoms.
"That's terrifying!" Ruby said. "Why is it so terrifying?".
"What the hell?!" Yang shouted. "Why use a very ominous sounding door knocker? That's just weird and scary".
"I don't know," Nora said. "But it sounds amazing!".
The house's door opened, and on the other side was a female cat Faunus. She looked similar to Blake, except the cat Faunus behind the door seems to have a mischievous feeling to her. She was wearing a black, gold and white outfit, she had black hair with cat ears that had piercings, two on the right and one on the left, it was coloured gold.
"Blake…?" the woman who opened the door said. "Is that you?".
"Hi…Mom," Blake said. "It's good to see you".
"My baby girl," the woman said while going for a hug. "I missed you so much".
Blake hesitates, uncertain for a moment, before her face gentles into a smile, and she hugs her mother back. After a few moments, they end the hug.
"Mom, these are my friends from Beacon," Blake said while introducing her friends. The woman looks at everyone and notices that they're all human. She was happy to see that her daughter finally found friends that don't care if she was Faunus.
"Kali?" A man asked. "Who is at the door?".
"Honey!" Kali shouted with excitement. "It's Blake!".
A few seconds later, a giant of a man came to view. It was Kali's husband and Blake's father, Ghira Belladonna. He has black hair, a black beard, a black chest hair and was wearing a purple, silver and white outfit. He seemed to have a smile on his face when he heard that his daughter was back.
"Blake!" Ghira shouted, and he gave her a hug which Blake returned. "It really is you!".
"Hi, Dad," Blake said and smiled. "It's good to see you".
"Blake?" Ghira said. "Care to introduce us to your friends".
"Guys," Blake said. "This is my mother, Kali Belladonna and my father, Ghira Belladonna".
"It's nice to meet you, Mr and Mrs Belladonna," Ren said. "I am Lie Ren".
"Nora Valkyrie!" Nora said. "At your service!".
"Pyrrha Nikos," Pyrrha said.
"Hi!" Ruby said. "I'm Ruby Rose! Leader of Team RWBY!".
"Weiss Schnee," Weiss said, and this got a look from Kali, a Schnee, her daughter was friends with a Schnee, she realised that her daughter truly has changed.
"Yang Xiao Long," Yang said. "Partner of Blake at Beacon".
"Sanjouno Haruhime," Haruhime said. "First name Haruhime last name Sanjouno".
"Scáthach," Scáthach said. "I can be considered a teacher to Blake as I trained her for a month or so".
"I'm Jaune Arc," Jaune said. "Leader of Team Juniper+".
When Kali and Ghira looked at Jaune, their instinct was to run away as far as possible. But then Blake held them to calm them down.
"You don't have to be afraid of Jaune," Blake said. "He means no harm. I've known him since the start of Beacon, and he's done nothing wrong".
Kali and Ghira nodded at Blake and composed themselves.
"Nice to meet you all," Kali said. "I'm Kali Belladonna, as my daughter said".
"A pleasure to meet the friends of my daughter's," Ghira said. "Now, is any of you dating my baby girl?"
"Nope!" Nora said. "Though, I can sometimes see Blake eyeing Jaune from time to time".
"I do not!" Blake said. She then looked at Jaune. "Please don't listen to Nora. I've never eyed you like she's implying".
"Are you sure?" Nora asked. "I have pic…".
Nora was not able to finish her words as Blake covered her mouth.
The group was brought inside the house. Ruby and the others were looking around with curiosity. A week ago, Ruby and Yang were able to see embarrassing pictures of Jaune. Now, Ruby was hoping to see embarrassing photos of Blake.
"Ahem, Mrs Belladonna," Ruby called. "Do you have stories of when Blake was younger?".
"Of course, I do!" Kali said. "Also, please call me Kali. Now, follow me to the family room. That's where I keep all the memorabilia".
"Hah!" Jaune laughed. "Blake, you're going to feel what I felt when Ruby and Yang saw my baby pictures".
"What do you mean?" Blake asked. "I don't think I have any embarrassing moments".
"You may think that, but I doubt it," Jaune said. "Plus, Kali is a mom. She probably has a special album that she uses when showcasing her daughter to her friends".
"Oh no!" Blake said. She remembered an album that was well hidden in the family room. "Oum! Please don't let my mother show my embarrassing pictures!".
"That's a prayer that'll never be answered," Jaune said. "Because a mother's ability to embarrass their children is godly in nature…See? Look. She already has the special album in her hand".
As Jaune told Blake, her prayer went unanswered. Kali whipped out a special album that had showcased Blake's most embarrassing moments, like the time she read her first smut. Blake was so embarrassed she just wanted to hide in a hole.
While everybody was having fun, Ghira received a call from someone regarding an issue with the Grimm.
"I'm sorry, Blake," Ghira said. "I'm going to be busy dealing with the Grimm in the desert".
"Dad, if you need help with the Grimm, we can help you," Blake said. "We are training to be Huntsman and Huntresses after all".
"I don't know," Ghira said. "This is not the same as the missions that first years go through. This is a horde of Grimm, and it's in a desert area".
"We'll be fine," Blake said. "I finally came home for my birthday; I don't want to celebrate it without you".
"Actually," Jaune said. "Blake, why don't you stay here with your parents and let me and Scáthach handle the Grimm".
"Two people won't cut it," Ghira said while shaking his head. "The horde is estimated to be in the thousands".
"Even better!" Jaune said. "This would give me a chance to test out the Iron Destroyer against Grimm. I mean, I know it can kill Grimm, but how many can it kill in a minute is the question".
Ghira then leaned towards her daughter and asked a question.
"Is your friend Jaune alright in the head?" Ghira asked. "I've never met a person happy to fight a horde of Grimm".
"There's nothing wrong with Jaune," Blake said. "It's just Grimm aren't a threat to him. We've seen what he's really capable of, and it's not something even the number 1 Huntsman in Vale can do".
"So? He's not crazy?" Ghira asked. Blake nodded. "Thank Oum! I don't know how I would feel if you were around nut jobs".
"I was surrounded by nut jobs," Blake said. "They're called the White Fang".
"Uh! Right…" Ghira said. "I forgot".
Ghira then looks at Jaune.
"Are you sure you can deal with the Grimm?" Ghira asked. Jaune nodded at him. "Okay then. Here are the coordinates. If the people there ask who you are, tell them that you were sent by me, Ghira Belladonna, they shouldn't give you a hard time. Unless the White Fang is there".
"Don't worry about it," Jaune said. "If the White Fang tries to stop me, I'll restrain them. And don't worry, I won't hurt them too much".
With that, Jaune and Scáthach made their way to the coordinates given by Ghira. When they got there, there were many White Fang members since they needed help taking down the Grimm. Jaune shrugged his shoulders and continued making his wait towards them. Meanwhile, the White Fang that saw Jaune couldn't help but want to run away.
