Once the group was near Nippur, Ushiwakamaru and Benkei were responsible for keeping the Demonic Beast Horde at bay. In contrast, Jaune and the others were responsible for sending all the survivors they found to Uruk.
Unfortunately, as Jaune and the others enter Nippur, no survivors are left. Jaune, Ritsuka and Merlin looked through all the buildings, and there were no survivors. Looking around further, Merlin noticed a blood trail that brought everyone to the highest point of Nippur.
On the highest point of Nippur was Enkidu, or the man that claims to be Enkidu. He seemed to have been waiting for everyone. That's because the target was Ritsuka, the last master of humanity.
"Welcome to Nippur," Enkidu said.
"It's you," Jaune said. "The guy named Enkidu, right? Though, I heard Ritsuka and the others call you a fake".
"Oh…Jaune Arc is it," Enkidu said. "I've watched your fight in the battlefront on the Northern Walls. I must say, you are surprising for a human. Though, I'm not sure if you are. I have this feeling that you feel quite familiar".
"Yeah…Okay," Jaune said. "Where did you take the people of this city?".
"Humans are an invaluable source of nourishment," Enkidu said. "We're making use of them with many thanks".
"What exactly are you using human bodies for?" Jaune asked. "From the state of the city, I'm assuming that the people are already dead. All the blood on the ground indicates how long they've been dead as it's no longer fresh…
Hold on a minute…The objective of the Demonic Beasts wasn't the destruction of the Northern Walls, was it? No, the purpose of the Demonic Beasts is to procure as many human bodies as possible for you to use as nourishment for something".
"You're not only strong but smart as well," Enkidu said with a mocking smirk. "To them, the Northern Wall was no more than a place where resources were gathered. This was never an invasion. That plan was to be executed after the second generation of Demonic Beasts was born.
You people are no more than raw materials used to create them. All of you are nothing more than a nursery to create a superior living creature. Isn't that quite significant?".
"Cut the crap!" A soldier shouted. "You're nothing more than a humanoid doll in Enkidu's likeness!".
"You'd at least serve as the opening act for Gilgamesh, right?" Enkidu said. "You should play with this guy!".
A lion-like Demonic Beast appeared from the ground. It was huge, bigger than any of the Demonic Beasts that Jaune has encountered. However, looking at Jaune, it didn't faze him. He merely looked at it with a deadpan face. Mash, Ritsuka and Ana got ready to fight.
"That's the Demonic Beast Ugallu!" Merlin said. "The largest offspring of Tiamat! A lion of the sun!".
Ugallu then charged its attack. Mash took out her shield and was ready to protect Ritsuka. However, the attack of Ugallu was targeted at Jaune, who didn't even move. When Ugallu fired its attack, Ritsuka shouted for Jaune to run, but he didn't listen. Instead, he smiled.
Once the attack of Ugallu reached Jaune, Ritsuka and the others shouted grew louder. However, Jaune remained still. But suddenly, a Tao Mandalas appeared to block the attack, and when it exploded, Jaune was still unscathed.
"Phew!" Merlin said, relieved that Jaune was fine. "You scared us half to death!".
"You are an immortal just like I am," Scáthach said. "How can you be scared to death?".
"Expression!" Merlin said. "It's called an expression!".
"Oh, I know," Scáthach said. "I just wanted to mess with you. Don't think I didn't know about you trying to mess with Jaune and me on multiple occasions".
"Oh-ho!" Enkidu said. "Impressive! I haven't seen magecraft like that before".
"Magecraft? Ha-ha-ha-ha!" Jaune said, laughing. "I didn't use magecraft. Now, let me show you what my Mystic Arts are capable of".
The Ugallu roared at Jaune, but this was the last roar it would ever make as it was split in half. Jaune opened an Eldritch portal and sent it towards Ugallu. Once half the body of Ugallu was through the portal, Jaune closed it, cutting Ugallu in half.
Merlin, Ana, Ritsuka and everyone was shocked, except for Scáthach. Jaune was able to deal with Ugallu with ease. A single portal meant for travelling was used as a weapon.
"Is that all you've got," Jaune said. "Fake Enkidu".
"You truly are different from any humans I've met," Enkidu said. "I wonder what it would be like if you're used as a raw material to make more Demonic Beasts?".
"You'll never find out," Jaune said.
As Jaune said that, the ground started shaking.
"No!" Enkidu said. "Has she no restraint?".
A large area of Nippur was destroyed as a half-woman, and half-serpent rose from the ground. The woman's hair were serpents. She had bright yellow wings and purple hair.
"Such fragile, frail creatures," the serpent woman said. "So, this is the remnants of humanity".
"Frail? Me," Jaune said. "Please, I'm in no way frail. I used to be frail, but a little bit of ass-kicking from Scáthach changed that".
"Oh-ho, you're quite a loudmouth, aren't you?" the serpent woman said. "no matter, you're all going to die today".
The serpent woman's eyes then flashed. Ritsuka, Mash and the others were frozen in place. Jaune and Scáthach, on the other hand, are fine and are capable of moving without any problems.
"I'm famished right now. You shall become my sacrifice while you are terrified," the serpent woman said. She then saw Jaune and Scáthach unaffected. "Oh, you were able to resist my Mystic Eyes. No matter, I'll crush humanity's hope as if I were plucking a mock of strawberry. A fun and sweet end for you, don't you think?".
"Uhm…are we going to fight, or are you going to keep monologuing?" Jaune said. "Because you can continue monologuing while I watch. You're quite amusing to watch".
"Human! You dare mock me!" the serpent woman said. "I'll make sure to eat you first".
"Cool-Cool-Cool," Jaune said. "And when are you going to be doing that? In the next minute? In the next year? Or in the next century?".
Jaune was distracting the serpent woman with words. He was buying time to remove the people that have no way of fighting the serpent woman out of the battlefield to minimize the death count. Jaune was nearly done with it.
The serpent woman didn't even know that the people that she could see were no more than illusions as most people were already gone. The moment she appeared, Jaune felt the power she was emitting, and he created an illusion. Even the people that are supposedly dead are illusions. The only truly on the battlefield were Merlin, Ritsuka, Ana, Mash, Jaune and Scáthach.
"I'm going to enjoy killing you the most, insect," the serpent woman said. "Prostrate yourselves, pray and beg for I, Tiamat, the Mother of All Demonic Beasts stand before you now".
"No-no-no, I've never bowed to anyone before," Jaune said. "Not to my father and certainly not for you. It doesn't matter who you are or what you are, I will not bow".
"We'll see about that," 'Tiamat' said.
'Tiamat' then fired a beam of energy towards Jaune and the others. It wasn't powerful, at least in Jaune and Scáthach's perspective. However, in reality, it was powerful enough to blast a mountain to smithereens.
Jaune blocked it with his Tao Mandalas. He then took out Gáe Bolg and dashed towards the giant lady known as 'Tiamat'. Tiamat's snakes tried to catch Jaune. However, he proved to be too fast for them to catch. Jaune then cut the snakes apart as they got close to him.
Jaune readied spells to be used when needed. The clouds in the sky were turning dark as Jaune readied Descent of the Lightning Dragon, and although it was invisible at the moment, Merlin and the others were protected by Jaune's Great Barrier of the Black Turtle.
Once he was done with his magic preparation, Jaune entered the Great Barrier of the Black Turtle with the others.
"Descent of the Lightning Dragon!" Jaune called out.
Lightning in the form of a serpentine dragon descended from the sky and engulfed 'Tiamat'. However, it wasn't strong enough to take her down. All it did was cause minor injuries. Nonetheless, Merlin was impressed with the power of the magic Jaune used. The only problem was it was being used against a Divine Spirit Class Servant.
