Within the conference room, now that Jacques was gone, Jaune then asked everyone to sit back down as they stood up to celebrate Jacques' arrest. There were things to discuss regarding the future of the SDC as its current state would land them on bankruptcy.
"First and foremost," Jaune said. He then activated the holographic screen on each board member's area. This included Willow, as she now owns 30% of the SDC. "I would like you to look at those pictures on the screen".
Everyone looked at the photos, and they were shocked at the horrendous working conditions that the miners had to go through every day.
"As you can see," Jaune said. "Due to Jacques' illegal activities, this is the current state of things within the SDC mines. Effective immediately, all mines are to be closed down temporarily until further notice.
I want to revamp all the mines' conditions. I'll also be implementing new safety procedures within the mines. Things will be different now that I'm the head of the SDC. Such things you're looking at will not be tolerated.
All SDC employees will be re-screened and re-interviewed. I don't want racism within the workplace. Such actions will also not be tolerated. Lastly, all the employees wrong by the SDC will be compensated".
"Hold on a minute!" a board member said. "If we're to compensate all the employees that have been wronged by the company, then we would go bankrupt!".
"One, I don't want to hear such things again," Jaune said. "Our employees will come before the profit of the company. I will not compromise my morality for profits. These people need to be compensated for things they have gone through due to the SDC.
But you don't have to worry about it since I will be personally compensating them with my own money and not the SDC. I don't plan to continue the corruption of the SDC's current operation. That's just not who I am".
The discussion lasted for a very long time. But the important thing to take note of that happened in the meeting is that Jaune told the board members his plan to limit the sales of Dust to civilians. This caused outrage within the conference room.
However, Jaune explained to them that they have no idea how Dust is formed in the first place and using them for daily necessity is a waste when it's more beneficial for fighting Grimm.
Jaune also told them his plan to create a subsidiary company called Arc Industries. A company that would be responsible for developing technology for daily necessities such as kitchen appliances and motor vehicles that use alternative energy sources.
While the discussion was happening, Weiss' scroll vibrated, and when she read the message, she realised that she had forgotten about picking up her friends in the Atlas bullhead terminal. She excused herself and made her way to where her friends were.
"Ms Schnee," Jaune said. "I've heard of your younger days when you used to be one of the most brilliant women in business. I would like it if you worked alongside me to better the SDC".
"I-I don't know if I should," Willow said. "It's been a long time since I've done anything business-related. I don't even know if I'm still cut out to be a businesswoman".
"Nonsense!" Jaune said. "I heard how amazing you were when you used to work with your father, Nicholas Schnee. I've searched through old articles of how he treated you as his equal when it came to making decisions for the company".
"I… I-I'll do what I can to help," Willow said. "But I might need to brush up on some business studies".
"Thank you, Ms Schnee," Jaune said. "With your help, I'm sure we can bring the reputation of the SDC back to the ways it used to be. Although the current stigma of the SDC won't ever disappear, we can only try to give it our best to show the people that things will be changing from this day forth".
Weiss was outside the SDC building waiting for Klein, her family butler. She called him as she needed a ride to pick up RBY, NPR and Haruhime, who arrived in Atlas an hour ago. Weiss forgot that she was meant to bring them to her home.
"Klein! Step on it!" Weiss said. "I can't believe that I forgot that they are all arriving today! Dang it! This is all because of the display Jaune showed!".
"Oh?" Klein said. "And what display would that be, Miss Schnee?".
"Jacques arrest!" Weiss said with glee. "You should have been there, Klein. Father couldn't do or say anything. He was powerless when General Ironwood cuffed him".
"That's quite a feat," Klein said. "Madam Schnee has been working hard to try and find evidence of Jacques' illegal activities, and yet, she found nothing".
"Well, this is Jaune that I'm talking about here," Weiss said. "I wouldn't consider him a normal person. He is capable of things that no one else can do".
"It's quite rare of you to speak highly of someone," Klein said. "You've changed ever since you got into Beacon".
"I've experienced things that I would otherwise not have if I was here in Atlas," Weiss said. "Plus, I also made wonderful friends that like me for who I am and not what family I was born in".
After thirty minutes of driving, Weiss arrived in the bullhead terminal, and she saw her friends waiting outside for her. She waved her hands towards her friends, and they saw her.
"Weiss! What the hell?!" Yang said. "You told us that you would pick us up! If I didn't message you, I doubt you'll be here".
"I'm so sorry," Weiss said. "Something came up, and I forgot".
"What could possibly happen to make you forget?" Pyrrha asked. "You're known to forget".
"Well, Jaune got my father arrested," Weiss said with a smile. "And it was glorious! You all should have seen it!".
"Whoa! I've never seen anyone happy to see their father arrested before," Yang said. "Then again, with all the stories you told us about your father, I'm not surprised".
"So, if Jaune is here, where is he?" Blake asked. "I don't see him anywhere".
"Oh! Maybe Jaune is now the head of the SDC and is making changes to better the company's status!" Nora said. "I bet he's probably shutting down the mines of the SDC temporarily to make it safer for the miners!".
Everyone looked at Nora as if she was crazy. Except for Weiss, who was confused about how Nora knew.
"Nora," Ren said with a sigh. "I doubt Jaune will be doing that since he doesn't own the SDC, Weiss family does".
"Actually, she's right," Weiss said. Everyone looked at her with wide-eye. "Jaune id now the head of the SDC. Earlier, he informed the board members that he would temporarily shut down all SDC Dust mines until further notice".
"See! I told you!" Nora said. "Now, where can we buy pancake?".
"You don't have to buy pancake, Nora," Weiss said. "I can ask the chef in my family mansion to make you the best pancake you'll ever have".
"I doubt it," Nora said. "My number one favourite pancake is made by Ren, and my second favourite is made by Jaune. None can beat them!".
"Right," Weiss said as she rolled her eyes at Nora. Then again, food made by her family's chef is nothing compared to food made by Jaune. Weiss then looked at Haruhime. "By the way, how come you didn't arrive here with Jaune?".
"Well, Jaune came to Atlas a few days ago, ahead of schedule," Haruhime said. "Jaune said he would be busy, and I should come with everyone instead. After what you said earlier, I understand why he told me to come with everyone. He was busy getting your father arrested".
After talking for a little while, Weiss asked everyone to come inside the limousine. They then all headed to the Schnee Manor. When they saw Weiss' house, Yang whistled at the size.
"Oh damn! Weiss, your house is huge!" Yang said. "It's bigger than Jaune's house, and the Arc family consists of twelve members".
"Well, we need rooms for the live-in maids, butler, cooks and other employees," Weiss said. "I assure you, we have no wasted space".
"Are you sure?" Ruby said. "The entrance area has a massive open space for no particular reason. The only thing there is a bunch of knight statues".
"Ahem!" Weiss said. "Come on, I want to give you guys a tour of the Manor".
Weiss showed the entire Schnee Manor to RBY, NPR and Haruhime. Weiss showed them the courtyard, the garden, dining room, library which Blake wanted to stay in, piano room, and other places. The Manor was massive, but everyone felt how cold it was, nothing like Jaune's place, which is big but felt warm and homely.
