It's been a week since the birthday of Weiss. At the moment, Jaune was teaching Weiss how to use her new (Ice Phoenix Wings). When Jaune told Weiss that the painting was a simple gift, she didn't expect to have a chance to be given an External Spirit Bone as well. She picked the (Ice Phoenix Wings) since it suited her theme.
After training Weiss how to fly, Jaune had to leave with Willow to head to the SDC headquarters since he had an announcement to make. He was sorting out all the legal issues that the SDC was facing, most were already done, but a few needed to be dealt with right away. The news media were waiting to hear the announcement and meet the new head of the SDC. Jaune announced a few things to the world.
One, the SDC would soon no longer sell Dust to civilians as it would be reserved for Military and Grimm extermination purposes.
Two, a subsidiary company of the SDC would be opened. The name of the said company was Arc Industries, a company concentrating on tools, appliances, etc., that would no longer use Dust. People would also be able to exchange their current tools, appliances, machinery, etc., for Arc Industries standards.
Three, the Arc Industries headquarters and manufacturing department will be opened in Menagerie and create over 10,000+ jobs for the Faunus that live there and talks with Menagerie's chieftain are already in the works. Jaune also showcased a basic job contract that would be used to revamp SDC and new Arc Industries.
Third, all the SDC mines would be closed until new safety procedures are implemented. Jaune mentioned that all those wronged by the SDC and Jacques working in the mines are to be compensated. The current workforce of the SDC would also be investigated as racism would no longer be tolerated. Any employees found to be racist within or outside the SDC would be fired.
Jaune also said many other things regarding the SDC and Arc Industries. Seeing as Jaune was a young man, at least as his biological age shows, the reporter tried to shove words to Jaune's mouth that was shut down in the harshest way that humiliated the reporters. Willow was sitting beside Jaune in the conference room where the announcements were made. She was holding her laugh when she saw the way Jaune shutdown the reporters.
At the end of the interview, Jaune and Willow were able to relax, mostly Jaune, as he was the one that dealt with the pesky reporters.
"This was tiring," Jaune said. "I didn't think reporters loved to manipulate every word you say. Too bad for them, they thought it would be easy to mess with me just because I look young".
"Unfortunately, that's how the news works nowadays," Willow said. "They would rather twist the people's words rather than report proper news".
"Anyways, we don't have much time to rest," Jaune said. "We have a meeting with Ghira Belladonna and Sienna Khan in an hour. We have to get their permission to open the Arc Industries in Menagerie".
"I don't understand how we can meet with them today," Willow said. "We're in Atlas. They are in Menagerie. How will we get there in an hour?".
"No worries," Jaune said. "Getting to Menagerie isn't difficult for me. So, come on. How about we get coffee before the meeting?".
"That sounds delightful," Willow said. "I know a great place to have a cup of coffee".
For thirty minutes, Jaune and Willow had a cup of coffee while having a lovely conversation. A paparazzi was following Jaune and Willow, he thought he was so stealthy, but the truth was that Jaune didn't care. But then Jaune thought about Willow. When he looked at her, she just shrugged her shoulders.
The time for the meeting with Ghira and Sienna was approaching. So, Jaune opened a portal to Menagerie, right outside Ghira's house. Willow saw what Jaune did and wasn't too surprised. Willow has seen Jaune do so many things that should not be possible in the past week. One of those things was giving Weiss an External Spirit Bones.
The talk with Ghira and Sienna went as smoothly as it could. For the most part, Sienna was afraid that all the agreements discussed would be broken in the future, and the people of Menagerie would be harmed. However, Jaune told Sienna that the Arc Industries Headquarters would be run by Ghira, which he had already agreed to. Only the most important decisions would be directed to Jaune. This was enough to make Sienna agree to open the Arc Industries in Menagerie.
"You made that look easy," Willow said. She's never had this simple kind of talk, even during her father's time. "By the way, you looked handsome while speaking to Sienna. You looked domineering".
"Thank you…Ahem," Jaune said. This was the first time Jaune was called handsome. Even Scáthach hasn't said that to Jaune since she is more into the warrior and brave people. "For someone who has never done this before, I hope I did well".
"Oh, you did wonderfully," Willow said. "Better than most, actually. Watching you negotiate, I thought you were quite experienced. Nothing like a newbie, at all".
In the Arc Household in Vale. Noah was wide-eyed, looking at the Tv. He watched the interview of Jaune as the head of the SDC. Joking, he thought Jaune was joking when he mentioned buying the SDC.
"What the hell?!" Noah shouted. His wife and kids looked at him. "I thought he was messing about! I didn't think he would actually buy the biggest company in the world! He even got Jacques arrested!".
"Honey, what are you talking about?" Joan asked. "What's with all the shouting?".
"Sorry for the shouting. I was just shocked," Noah said. "Jaune is now the head of the SDC and its new subsidiary company, the Arc Industries".
"Eh?!" Everyone shouted.
"I know! Shocking, isn't it?" Noah said. "Now you know why I was shouting".
"How…? What?! When?" Joan had a hard time thinking of what to say. "Jaune, our Jaune, bought the SDC? Are you sure? Did you maybe make a mistake?".
"Make a mistake?!" Noah said. "It was Jaune on the Tv. He was announcing new changes to the company. Do you think I won't recognise our own son?".
"Sorry…I was just making sure," Joan said. "Of course, you'd be able to recognise our own son".
"This is so shocking!" Jayden said. "Our brother is now the head of Remnant's biggest company".
While the Arc family was celebrating Jaune's success in life. Jacques was fuming in a holding cell, waiting for his transportation to a prison cell. He called one of his cohorts to get an assassin to kill Jaune's family as revenge. Jacques even used all his money in his current bank account, which consisted of 10,000,000 Lien, but it was useless. His cohort visited him and told him the bad news that the best assassin that he sent was killed. They didn't know about the Lahmu in the Arc family house.
Jacques said that he didn't care how much money was used. He wanted the Arc family killed. This was when Jacques went crazy. His cohort told him that all his hidden accounts were emptied, all money was given to charities for the Faunus, whether it be shelter, orphanages, etc., Jacques had no money left in his name.
The worst thing was Jacques' account was being monitored. That means where his money went when he paid for the assassins was traced. Thanks to Jacques, the organisation that operated in the dark was shut down by Ironwood. The boss of the assassin organisation hated Jacques' guts. It would be reported later, when Jacques arrived in the prison cell, that his body was mangled by the assassins that were also captured.
Later in the evening, Jaune returned to his family's home in Vale to see them staring at him.
"What are you all looking at me like that for?" Jaune asked. "Did I do something wrong?".
"No, nothing of that sort," Noah said. "It's just that I never thought you were serious when you told me you would buy the SDC. I thought you were being humorous. I guess I was wrong".
"By the way, dad," Jaune said. "You still plan on retiring from being a Huntsman, right? Would you like a job at the SDC as head of security?".
"I don't know, Jaune," Noah said. "I don't want to move to Atlas. The family is here in Vale, after all".
"You don't have to worry about moving to Atlas," Jaune said. "I can create a device that would open a portal to the SDC when you need it. You can come home every day after work".
"You can do that?!" Noah said. "How is something like that possible…Right, I almost forgot, magic".
"Yup! I'm also extending this offer to Terra, Saphron and Jayden," Jaune said. "You all have the qualification that would suit a position in the SDC. Terra and Saphron are qualified technicians, and Jayden is a qualified financial analyst".
At the end of the talk, Noah, Jayden, Saphron and Terra accepted a position at the SDC. Of course, Jaune being Jaune won't give them special treatment. If they deserve a promotion or a pay raise, they will get it. Otherwise, they won't. Nepotism isn't something Jaune will be doing.
