Monster Hunter: World isn't the happiest of worlds to train when one is from Remnant as the monsters are immensely powerful. No Grimm can match the beast of this world. However, that's precisely what the Schnee family needed.

Within the Wildspire Waste Willow, Winter and Weiss were fighting a Rathian, while Jaune was far away watching hidden with presence concealment. Jaune had his Tauropolos out with a quiver on his back that had infinite arrows thanks to the usage of Primordial Runes.

Rathians are Fire-breathing female wyverns, also known as the Queens of the Land. With powerful legs and poison-secreting tails, they hunt mainly on the ground. Sometimes seen preying as a couple, Rathians and Rathalos cooperate well.

Rathian is a medium-sized true flying wyvern similar in looks to her male counterpart, Rathalos. Her hide is a dull, muted green in contrast to the Rathalos' deep red, and her lower mandible features a long, protruding chin spike. Her upper back and wingtips are covered in a moss-like fur not seen on the Rathalos, and while her clubbed tail lacks bony spikes, it makes up for this with the presence of sharp and highly poisonous needles, which she can use to poison foes upon contact.

In the beginning, the Schnee's were chasing after a Kelbi as Jaune wanted one to use its horns to make a healing potion. However, a Rathian suddenly burst out of a cave nearby and started attacking them. Jaune didn't go and save them as he wanted to see if they could handle it. But one thing Jaune didn't realise is why the Rathian appeared in the first place. It was due to his scent as a Dragon. He may not have the demerits of a Dragon like its weakness, but he still had the smell and aura of one.

The Rathian flew towards Willow and the others and slammed its tail on them as they were in the way of finding Jaune. But Willow, Winter and Weiss were able to jump out of the way. Seeing this, the Rathian decided to breathe fire on them. Weiss and Winter could get out of the way fast enough as they weren't in the line of fire, but Willow was. Thankfully, Willow was able to put up a Glyph shield in time to block the fire.

A few more minutes go by, and Jaune saw that although Willow and the others were strong, they were no match for the Rathian as they've never encountered such a beast before. So, Jaune used his Eldritch Portal to get them out of the battlefield and back to the camp.

"You girls did great against something you've never seen before," Jaune said. "However, I don't think you're ready to fight against Large Monsters. In the meantime, you girls can train with Whitley alongside the other hunters. They can teach you how to hunt bigger gains than any Grimm you've fought before".

"I don't get it," Weiss said. "How are you so comfortable fighting such monsters? I don't think you've been in this world either. Plus, I've fought monsters in the dungeon of Orario. How come these monsters are more powerful".

"It's not that they're more powerful, Wiess," Jaune said. "It's that they are capable of higher thinking than the monsters in Orario's dungeon. I read that the wyvern that you've fought is called a Rathian. All of you were lucky since its mate wasn't around, because if it was, then fighting them would be far more difficult".

"Also, how are these people able to survive this world without Aura?" Weiss said. "These monsters are incredibly powerful".

"Simple, really," Jaune said. "These people are using the monster's body parts to make powerful weapons and defensive equipment. Plus, they are amazing at dodging".

"By the way," Willow said. "Did you say that Whitley is training with the hunters? I thought he didn't like Huntsman in our world? Why would he train with people here?".

"Well, the thing is," Jaune said. "Whitley doesn't hate Huntsman and Huntresses. He hid his interest in them due to Jacques. But now that he's gone, I convinced Whitley to be himself".

"I didn't know that," Willow said. "Thank you for helping him out, Jaune. I think I need to step up my game as a parent".

"You're doing great as you are now, Willow," Jaune said. It was true. One can't expect years of neglect to be cleared in a month. "It'll just take some time for Whitley to get accustomed to the new you and seek you for help since he's been relying on himself for a long time. You'd also need to gain his trust in you".

"I know, I know," Willow said with a sigh. "This is my fault, to begin with. I'll do what I can to gain his trust and be there for him if he ever needs me. It's all I can do for now".

Jaune then kissed Willow. Weiss didn't react as Willow had already told her of her intention of dating Jaune. On the other hand, Winter had no idea that they were dating.

"Hold on! Are you two dating?" Winter said. "I thought Mr Arc already had a wife?!".

"About that…Sorry, I forgot to tell you, Winter. But I did inform Weiss about it," Willow said. "You see, I became infatuated with Jaune sometime during Weiss' birthday. I thought I was hiding my infatuation quite well, but that wasn't the case. Jaune's wife knew how I felt about him, and she encouraged me to follow my feelings, and I did".

"This…This can't be real...This is amazing," Winter said while hiding her smile under her hand. The situation was just like one of the novels that she liked reading. She then whispered. "This is just like one of the scenes in that book! Two women sharing a man and going on adventures!".

"Come again?" Jaune said. "I thought I heard you talking about something similar to one of the books you read?".

"I said no such thing," Winter said. She was back to being stoic, but inside she was giggling. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to check up on Whitley to ensure he is properly trained".

Winter left, but she was heading in the wrong direction.

"Uhm…Winter," Jaune called. "The training ground for the hunters are on the other side".

"I-I…I knew that!" Winter said. She then cleared her throat. "Now, if you'll excuse me".

Winter headed to the training ground for new hunters to make sure that Whitley was doing fine and if he was being properly trained. Meanwhile, Willow was thinking about the fight they had with the Rathian.

"Oh, Jaune," Weiss called. "Why is it that you banned me from using my wings in a fight? I thought it would be useful".

"It's useful if you have full control of it," Jaune said. "But you aren't, and that would be dangerous if you lose control in mid-air and plummet down".

"I guess that's true," Weiss said. "Then how about my mother and my swords? How come you took away her Married Blade and my Ivy?".

"I had to," Jaune said. "Otherwise, this training trip would have been pointless. The Married Blade, or as Willow calls them Arc and Schnee, can kill these monsters easily, making the training useless. Same goes for Ivy".

Jaune then saw Willow pondering. So, he called out to her and asked.

"Willow?" Jaune called. "Is there something wrong?".

"Hmm…I thought about the fight we had with that wyvern you called a Rathian," Willow said. "I felt it was quite weird. Rather than fighting us seriously, it felt like it was searching for something, and we were in its way. Most of the time, it would take its eyes away from us".

"I felt that too!" Weiss said. "It's like the attacks were meant to make us fall back".

"That's interesting," Jaune said. He then rubbed his chin in thought. "I saw that it would occasionally look in my direction, but it couldn't find me due to my concealment spell. I might have been the cause of the Rathian appearing in the first place".

Jaune wanted to investigate why the Rathian seemed to be looking for him. He had a few ideas, but he needed to confirm them. So, he decided to head to the Wildspire Waste the following morning to figure out what made the Rathian attracted to him.

"Willow, Weiss," Jaune said. "I'm going to leave tomorrow, but I want you both to continue training diligently and do not enter any of the hunting grounds until my return, okay?".

Willow and Weiss nodded at Jaune since they knew if there was something that troubled Jaune, then it wasn't something they would be able to much against. At least for now, since they aren't strong enough to help Jaune, they would just get in the way. But in the future, they wish to be able to help him as he has helped them.
