p.s. never doubt a sadistic tease

"I must say that no matter how many times we do this it never gets easier." Neville said as we stood outside surrounded by numerous barriers and members of our organization which we formed shortly after I became a Campione. While England has several with long histories I felt it'd be more efficient if I made a separate one of my own.

"You're telling me. This time will be a lot more riskier than usual since we didn't have anywhere to evacuate all the students and villagers." What was unsaid was that he didn't even give an iota of thought as to what to do for them. The barrier was for him and his team, protection was their problem. If they wanted his help then it was their fault for being so annoying.

Although he wasn't exaggerating when he said that he was getting great amusement watching whiskers blunder greatly. At the moment he was hanging upside down tied up in front of the doors of the school. This was done using Circe's authorities Cursed Desire. He had spent over an hour pestering the hell out of everyone trying to impose and sound important and put himself above everyone, no matter how fruitless and untrue it was, so he gave him what he wanted.

It'd been forever since he'd had a real fight that he was itching for it to hurry up and get started. Considering who it was approaching he knew it'd probably be best to start off with someone from the same pantheon, the king class god who was the second God he'd killed.

Flashback

"Sir I've got a troubling report." A man in a green coat with gold accents said as he ran into the personal office of his leader.

"What is it Baum." He said sighing in slight annoyance of being disrupted, but at the same time glad since he could temporarily stop the titan sized pile of hellish paperwork. It was times like this that he knew a cloning technique so he could make his clones do all the work while he took his daily maintenance of 23 hour naps. (because I'm bored the first person who guesses this reference I'll either continue on or redo one of my other works of their choice)

"We've received a report that a rogue God has been sighted." That got all his attention. Normally reports would be about something so boringly bothersome as a magical beast running rampant through Hyde Park, again, but a Rogue God took priority. Especially since the other Campione in this country would just make him do all the work, again. Sometimes he wondered who really was the child between the two of them.

"Summon the council and prep all the details. We need to know as much as possible before heading out." With a nod he rushed off to do just that.

Timeskip...

"Why have we been summoned?" One of the elders on the council, left over from the previous group before the takeover, asks arrogantly. It took everything I had not to punch the man into next century. We had never gotten along, ever since I arrived the bloated mage had been consistently trying to shut down everything I did. It was no secret we didn't get along. At this point I didn't have much reason to keep him on, he'd used his influence to convince the others to not kick him out but I have had it with him. One more outbursts, and consequences be damned, he'd be out faster than a wind god.

Completely ignoring him I waited for the others to show up before starting the meeting. Doing my best to hide my smirk at the not subtle look of outrage from being brushed off like a rookie.

"Now then we can get started. The purpose of this meeting is information as per usual standard. We've gotten reports of a powerful rogue god in the area. We've already begun evacuation but if we don't step in soon then it could quickly turn into a mass calamity." Pushing a button the debriefing papers appeared. It had what few details the survey team were able to gather. But it should be enough for some of them to at least start to get a generalized idea on what we were facing at the least.

"Most troublesome indeed. I believe I have a good idea what we're dealing with." One of the more younger members of the council said as he put his paperwork back on the table. He had brown hair and a large scar over his left eye and strangely enough an eye patch over the undamaged one. I tried to ask someone about it as the thing gave off a weird vibe but apparently no one knew the answer either.

Placing a hand on the crystal in front of his he channeled clairvoyance magic through it which brought up images of a tempest and in the center of it several shifting animals, the most prominent being an eagle.

"Councilor Zaraki, do you know what it is we're dealing with." I asked the ragged man to avoid any potential stalling. To be honest the elders weren't the only ones about to get the boot, the entire council was utterly useless. No wonder they had to get their asses saved by a child, the whole organization is pretty much useless and as soon as this assignment is order is going to be getting a massive overhaul.

"Based on the animals being used it's safe to say that the god in question is from the - pantheon. I believe that it may be- removed for sadistic pleasure." This got everyone on edge, even a low ranking deity posed a major problem, but a - class was an entire continent sized can of worms on its own.

"If that's true then the situation is worse than I thought. But this is Britain, normally deities would stick to terrorizing territories close to their pantheon's homeland, so bother coming all the way out here just to go on a rampage." While it wasn't an unheard of thing, the statement did stay true for that class, their arrogance and pride being at play for the most part of that than anything else.

"How long do we have until he fully forms." With the rate and the speed of destruction in the reports it's clear that he was trying to reform himself. If they could contain him before then there was a chance that he might be weakened enough to minimize the damage at the very least. Although the chances of that happening were slim to none. Campione's were known for having piss poor luck after all, that's how they got their jobs in the first place.

"We're not sure but we speculate from at least one to two hour minimum." As usual the odds of catching a break just weren't on the table.

"I have a plan. Have a fully barrier team mobilize in the most likely location and tell them to leave a small gap. If what I'm thinking is right then I just might know what to do."

I meant to post these a lot earlier but time got away from me and dealing with quarantine and computer problems popping out the wazoo it just slipped away. I will be posting the last of my promised trio later. It will be the end of the mini flashback arcs. If you have a problem with my short chapters then who cares, complain about it and I will ignore you.
