"Boss we've got incoming fast. All shields to full power immediately. We've got multiple targets incoming at high speed." Cassandra, who insisted on taking part in the operation yelled out orders. Getting everyone not focused on reinforcing the barrier to jump into action.
No sooner that we had we were all nearly forced to our knees by the immense magical pressure rushing at us. Each of us knew that was merely a warmup for what was to come as it wasn't nearly as high as a rogue god's normally is.
"What the hell are we dealing with. Cassandra, Hermione can you sense anything?" Hadrian tries to yell out to the two who went into a state of trance and when they cam out of it tried to give a report simultaneously. It would've been comical had the situation not been so serious.
"It's- bull." With all the noise of the idiots insisting on watching and whatever it was trying to break down the barrier the intel came out a bit choppy but it was obvious what it meant after the third time they tried to get it out. Our target was teasing us by not being serious and sending out one of his avatars. Although if he remembered correctly then this one was nothing more than the godly equivalent of a warning shot as it was most definitely nothing more than a gigantic battering ram to break down the barrier.
He was all too familiar with these kinds of toying tactics, as it was the same thing that he used all those years ago when he killed him.
"What're your orders boss? The shields are holding up for now, but it's unclear for how much longer. If this barrage keeps up we'll only be able to sustain for another five minutes." A shikigami said with a large amount of strain in its voice.
"Then it looks like we've got no choice. We can't keep stalling forever, the second our defenses run down he'll rush at us faster than we can blink and we're toast. Hermione relay the order to switch to 'Weatherworn'."
A loud gasp of disbelief was heard as the paper doll actually shuddered. "Are you sure boss. That went horrifically bad the last time you tried that. Need I remind you that you almost died, and since he was still alive when you did it, you would've died for real."
"We don't have time for worrying right now. This mess is just going to get worse." As if on cue a loud boom was heard as all the bulls disappeared and several solar arrows shot through the shields and detonated on impact.
Nodding reluctantly the doll flew up and multiplied, each one bearing a bright and distinct rune. When it connected to everyone, excluding the idiot squad as they had taken to calling them, had teleported to just in front of the doors and reinforced the barrier there.
Ignoring the nuisances' protests he began to use one of his authorities he took from Circe.
"O immortal sun, I beseech you to send forth dawn's horse-drawn carriage!" As soon as he finished the incantation to use one of the authorities he stole after his fight with the Japanese king three white horse divine beasts appeared.
The main reason for using them first is that they'd be a good counter for his opponent. Although he didn't know how many more times he'd use his arrows.
He didn't have time to contemplate any further as he had to jump out of the way of a flurry of punches. He wasn't fast enough though as the last two managed to graze him.
Before he could get his bearings back a large tendril of shadows thrust at him and sent him flying into the barrier hard, cracking it barely.
"How disappointing God Slayer. I'd honestly expected more from the one who fell my father." A tall handsome man with dazzling golden hair, sidelong glance that was tinged with seductiveness, and mischievously smiling lips. His body was the definition of muscular and carried a silver long bow.
"What a pain. What're you doing here Phoebus Apollo?"
This chapter is long overdue. I will post the last part by the end of the week. I will also be updating some of my other weeks and for those who read Eclipse Pirates, I will be redoing that one soon.
