Wrecker, and Ruby entered the auditorium with Weiss and the boy whom had the air sickness issue. "I don't think we've been properly introduced. I'm Jaune Arc." The boy said. "I'm Ruby. This is Weiss and that's Wrecker." The scarlet reaper said as jaune looked up at Wrecker. "Is he… your uncle." He said as Wrecker glanced at him. "No, he's more of a big brother to me. also, he and I aren't related." Ruby said.
"Ruby! Wrecker! Over here we saved you a spot." A voice said. Turning the quartet saw Yang, Outrider and the rest of the Bad Batch. "We'll see you later Jaune." Ruby said offering a hand to jaune who took it. He took it before parting ways with Wrecker, Weiss, and Ruby.
"How's your first day at beacon been?" Yang asked. "After you ditched me? Terrible." Ruby said "yikes, meltdown already?" the blond brawler asked getting a displeased smack to the back of the head courtesy of hunter. "I wish. First I accidentally knock over her luggage over. She yelled at me" Ruby said gesturing to Weiss "then I exploded." Echo raised an eyebrow. "You…. Exploded?" Ruby nodded as yang looked unsure. "Are you being funny?" she asked furrowing her eyebrows glaring at the heiress.
"no, there was fire, ice, and I think some lightning." Ruby said. "You're lucky we weren't blown to or over the edge of the cliff." Weiss said upset. "OH god. It's happening again." Ruby said jumping into Yang's arms. "Oh my gosh you really exploded." Yang said as her eyes widened. Unaware to the trio, Outrider slowly drifted a hand to one of his blaster pistols in which hunter noticed.
"Easy Outrider, we don't want to do anything hasty now." He said placing a hand on one of the heavy gunner's shoulders. "Here." Weiss said holding out a book. "What is it?" Ruby asked. "A book on dust. With some insight you'd be better." Wrecker frowned as Ruby took the book "Now if you'll excuse me I need to find a spot." Weiss said before departing. Ruby turned to Tech.
"Here Tech, I think this will do you and the rest of Bad Batch some good since you're new to remnant." She said giving the book to the clone. "Thank you. This will be most helpful." Tech said. "I don't like her." Wrecker said.
Yang noticed Outrider clenching his left fist. Acting on instinct, yang grasped Outrider's right hand. "I know you want to protect us, but you don't have to shoot everything that threatens Ruby or me." she said leaning into him as a man and woman stepped on stage. Ruby's eyes widened and tugged one of hunter's arms. "What?" he asked. "That's Ozpin." Ruby said pointing at the man. "Thanks." Hunter said
Bad Batch stood in Ozpin's office while hunter explained to the headmaster why they had come to beacon. "I see." Ozpin said. "Well, currently we have no missions for you to do, but we can provide you with supplies until then. I'm very sorry that you're stuck here." Hunter nodded.
"I understand and thank you professor." He glanced at outrider. "if you need proof of our abilities, I'm sure some of us are willing to take part in the initiation." Ozpin raised an eyebrow. "I'll allow three extra participants." He said. hunter nodded. "Outrider, Wrecker, and Tech."
The next day
"I can't wait." Ruby said. Yang chuckled. "Why?" she asked. "Because I can let Crescent Rose do the talking instead of making friends." Suddenly there were murmurs and gasps. Both turned while raising an eyebrow. "Is that Outrider?" Ruby asked. "Yeah it is along with Tech and Wrecker." The Beacon hopefuls watched as the three clone force 99 operatives walked up to the sisters.
"So, you girls ready?" Wrecker asked "Guys, you here to wish us luck?" Yang asked. "No, we're actually taking part in the initiation to back up our, as Outrider would say, bark with a bite." Tech said as Yang chuckled.
"So, in a nutshell you're doing this to prove your story to Ozpin?" she asked. "Yes we are." Yang noticed that Outrider had a new helmet. (A/N: it's a dark grey scout trooper helmet with a black visor with the Bad Batch's emblem on both sides, and had a red stripe down the middle) "Sick helmet Outrider." The blond brawler said. "thank you… I guess." The Bad Batch's heavy gunner said.
if Outrider not been wearing his helmet, yang would have seen his cheeks turn red. "we'll be dropped into emerald forest via Bullhead due to Wrecker's fear of heights. We'll meet up there." Tech said before he, outrider, and wrecker departed. "we're lucky to have met them. Right yang? Yang?" Ruby said before seeing her. She had a dreamy look on her face. The scarlet reaper followed her gaze and saw that it was directed at the three departing Bad Batch members. Ruby smirked she knew who yang was actually looking at out of the three.
"You love him don't you sis?" she asked getting yang's attention. "Love who?" the blond brawler asked trying to play dumb. "Outrider." Ruby said in a teasing tone and wearing a Cheshire cat grin on her face. The effect was immediate. Yang blushed an atomic red. "Ruby, I swear if you tell him before I can…" she began as Ruby raised her hands in a defensive. "Easy sis. I won't tell him."
Meanwhile with Tech, Wrecker, and Outrider
"I am surprised that you didn't ask Ms. Xiao Long on a date Clay." Tech said calling Outrider by his real name. Outrider lifted his helmet's faceplate. "I guess after several failed attempts, I just… gave up Tech." Wrecker glanced at his teammate. "I think she likes you buddy. You should try one last time." He said. Outrider gave him an unsure look as they approached the bullhead hangar.
"So, you three ready?" hunter asked. "We are hunter." Tech said. Echo looked at Outrider as he boarded the bullhead that would take Wrecker, Tech, and Outrider to the emerald forest. "Did he ask her?" he asked Wrecker who shook his head. "No, he's afraid she'd reject him." The gentle giant said. The five Bad Batch members looked at their heavy gunner.
Crosshair glanced down and furrowed his eyebrows and shoved past his teammates. "Hey what are you doing?" Hunter asked suspiciously. "Giving words of encouragement." The sniper said. Outrider looked at his feet. 'I want to ask, but… after all that shit I went through. I can't.' he thought.
"wallowing in self-doubt won't get you the girl Outrider." A voice said. Outrider looked up to see Crosshair leaning against the doorframe. "What do you mean?" he asked the sniper. "You afraid to ask a girl who might have feelings towards you. She may have been able to hide it from you, but not me." Crosshair said taking his toothpick out of his mouth. Outrider narrowed his eyes. Crosshair smirked before continuing.
"She looks at you the same way you once did when you had feelings for a girl. I'd bet my rifle that she loves you." Outrider scoffed. Yeah well…" he began "Just try ok. The others are worried." Crosshair said before departing. Tech and Wrecker joined him on the bullhead. "Since when did Crosshair become a love guru." Outrider asked.
Yang stood on a launch platform deep in thought. "You ok sis." Ruby asked. "I'm just worried what outrider will say if I tell him that I love him." Yang said putting on her aviators before getting launched into the emerald forest.
