Chapter 752
Nope
The bunker needed to be breached. There were several choices available to them. One team still worked on the inner bunker door with Thermite and C-4. That option wasn't progressing rapidly.
They could try and use the few missiles on the drones but the bunker was designed to withstand that type of attack. It wasn't designed to withstand assault by construction equipment, used as destruction equipment.
Cameron wanted to use the bulldozer for the best effect. It was decided to attack the corner of the bunker and try and breach it from there. They only needed to make an opening big enough to send troops in.
Savannah watched as the bulldozer went to work. Its massive size was a factor. Its strength was pure brute force. It shoved on an area of the corner of the bunker and a section cracked, fragmented and broke off.
Savannah returned her attention to the area in back of them. The dead still lay where they fell. She looked at each one in the moonlight. She was aware that they all started out as a child with a mother and a father. They might have brothers and sisters. Some may have been married or have children. Now they were dead. Many of them were killed by her hand. Then there was the female Gray that died with her hands around her throat. Cameron kept her hands there, over hers, until the woman died. It was her eyes that bothered her the most. She could still see them look at her as the life faded from them. The female knew that she was dying. That was why Cameron kept her hands over hers to make sure that she didn't show weakness or offer mercy. Instead she delivered death. She needed to refocus. The immediate threat was where she was at now. What was done was done.
It was about survival. If she hadn't killed the Grays, they would have terminated Cameron and Cammy. They would have killed her. Even worse, she could have been captured and abused repeatedly before they killed her. At least after two children, they wouldn't know she was still a virgin. She needed to push those thoughts from her mind. Every time she did other thoughts crept back in.
With some time to think about it, it bothered Savannah but not as bad as the female did. Cameron's hands were over hers. They made sure that her hands continued to apply the force. It was her hands that were on the woman's neck. It was her eyes the woman stared into as she died. She looked at the dead around her again and knew there was 'coldness' in her now. There was 'darkness' inside of her. She could feel it try to come out. That didn't really seem to bother her. Because it didn't bother her, THAT was what bothered her.
Savannah checked around her again. The bulldozer knocked off another section of the bunker wall at the corner. There was rebar exposed now. It was tangled in the shattered concrete. The big blade of the bulldozer lifted and caught the rebar. It bent it and then snapped it. The bulldozer backed up and made another run at the corner. The process was repeated over and over.
"Fire in the hole…." Someone called out.
Savannah quickly gathered her thoughts. She moved alongside the bulldozer for cover and held her ears. There was an explosion. It was followed by a slight wave of concussion.
"We need more Thermite." Someone said.
There was some movement of Terminators back and forth between the entrance to the bunker.
"This is the last batch." Another answered as they headed for the inner bunker door.
Savannah heard the bulldozer make another assault. She focused on the surrounding area again. She couldn't help but look at the dead that lay scattered on the ground. They were like so many rocks just laying there. Were they anything more than meat and bones at this point?
The dead were so quiet.
All their problems were over.
Their eyes of death were open and led to the gateway of darkness. It was the same darkness that called her.
Only their silent voices remained and 'those eyes'….
The Metal girls were all geared up and armored up. They were ready for combat.
Gail, Ally and Sheila all received the change in plans. They were to stick with John and go after one of the big trucks. It was news that they could have done without. That wasn't what any of them currently planned for.
Sheila only reluctantly put her pants on a short time ago. She wasn't pleased with their new destination.
"Stockton? That is a few hours drive." Sheila said. "I just put all this gear on."
Ally was just as disappointed as the other Metal girls were. She tried to make the best of the situation under the current circumstances.
"I would assist you in its removal." Ally said. "But I'm driving now."
Gail only finished dressing a few minutes ago. Her plans were to go and assist Savannah. The new change in plans only irritated her. She felt that Savannah needed more protection under the current circumstances than John did.
"We should go help Savannah." Gail said. "I think we should go there anyway."
John Henry silently listened in on their conversations. He'd been watching footage through their body cams as they pleasured Sheila. The views weren't always consistent and changed a lot is the girls moved around in the back of the van in various positions. He hadn't informed them he was watching them whenever he could get a view. He justified his actions as 'research into females'.
He decided to update the girls with the current conditions where Cameron and Savannah were at along with Cammy. He gave them a complete report as to the use of the bulldozer and Thermite and C-4 against the inner bunker door.
Sheila knew that to go there would be a bad idea at this point, especially since they received additional assistance from another group of their Terminators.
"Cameron and Cammy are with Savannah." Sheila said. "Plus a team of our Terminators are there now."
Ally didn't want to push the issue either. With John out alone with Bob and headed for danger, it was clear that he would need additional protection.
"If we don't stay with John, Cameron will be upset." Ally said. "I want to help Savannah as well but we all know John alone out here will drive Cameron 'insane'."
Sheila wasn't so sure that hadn't already happened. Some of Cameron's actions at times indicated that she was quite insane.
"I think that she already is." Sheila said.
Gail wasn't sure that was a fair assessment. She thought that they'd all done some questionable actions at times. She knew that she had. When Duplicate Jesse was first thought to have been terminated in combat, she sought self termination as well. They ended up pulling her chip before she could self terminate. She only found out years later that it was Savannah who asked them to pull her chip before she hurt herself. Even as a young girl Savannah was the one who looked after her. Then there was the time when she needed to fight two Terminators near the old helicopter base. They were ready to terminate her permanently. One of them was about to rip her head off. It was Savannah who came to her aid and Tasered both of the hostile Terminators. Savannah gave her knife to her and asked her to pull their chips. Savannah always maintained that it was her who deactivated the two Terminators. Savannah never told anyone that she'd Tasered both of the Terminators first. Savannah told her it would be their secret and it always had been since. Not only did Savannah save her, she allowed her to keep her dignity and pride intact along with keeping her alive. She was sure that some of the other Terminators probably thought her infatuation and love for Savannah was pure insanity, especially since Savannah was spoken for many times over already. That didn't matter to her; she still knew how she felt about Savannah. Did that make her insane too?
"Who isn't?" Gail asked. "Are we? Am I?"
Sheila was aware that she pulled quite a few questionable stunts and did more than a few things that she shouldn't have. Some might view her treatment of human prisoners as a form of insanity as well. To her, it was part of her programming and what Jesse warned her about as part of the 'darkness' that existed within her. Jesse was able to suppress much of that darkness with the help of the human girls and Cameron. In her, the darkness was very prominent and Savannah worked with her to try to suppress it. She questioned her earlier actions. If that wasn't a form of insanity, what was?
"That may be true. I think we all are in a way." Sheila said. "I know I am. I almost hurt the property manager's wife. She didn't do anything to me or us. I wanted to hurt someone."
Gail was with Sheila when she was attacked by the hostile Terminator. She was actually the one who brought him down with her Taser for Sheila. She also allowed Sheila to pull his chip so that Sheila was the one who deactivated him.
"You were angry about the Terminator who attacked you." Gail said.
Sheila was reminded of what she almost did to the Terminator who'd attack her. She wanted Gail and Ally to hold him down. She wanted to hurt him. She wanted vengeance in that moment. Maybe she was blinded by insanity. She noticed that Ally fooled with the rear view mirror.
"I was angry. What are you doing, Ally?" Sheila asked.
Ally continued to move the rear view mirror slightly.
"I am adjusting the rear view mirror." Ally said.
Gail was slightly irritated to hear that. She'd already set it up for Ally to drive.
"What would you do that for?" Gail asked. "It was already adjusted perfectly."
Ally noticed that Sheila started to remove her gear. She knew what was going to happen next. There was one thing that Sheila could never get too much of. It was a 'finish'. Being an exhibitionist was a close second.
"I'm readjusting it so I can watch you two." Ally said.
Sheila was more than willing to share with anyone in front of an audience. It actually excited her more when she knew that she was being watched. She actually thought of herself as more of a 'teacher' at that point and those who observed her were her 'students'. The bigger the crowd that watched her, the more extreme she was willing to go with her partner. Usually they had a few more inhibitions than she did. It only excited her more to force her will upon them as the others watched.
"That's fine with me." Sheila said. "If you got it, you need to flaunt it. That's what I do."
Gail was aware they were traveling at an excessive rate of speed to catch back up to John and Bob. She thought a little caution should be involved to prevent any unnecessary sheath damage to them if the vehicle were to be involved in an accident.
"You need to watch the road." Gail said.
Ally didn't think it was a big deal.
"I have two eyes." Ally said.
Sheila wanted to mess with Ally a little.
"You also have two hands." Sheila said. "Make sure one of them stays on the wheel. I know what you'll be doing with the other one of them."
Ally laughed with Sheila's statement.
"You know me too well." Ally said.
Sheila expected to be with Ally after she was done with Gail.
"Not as well as I'm going to." Sheila said. "It's a long drive back."
Gail wanted to be with Ally as well as Sheila. She didn't want one of them to hog all the action.
"In that case, we'll all take turns driving." Gail said. "That way we all get to share."
Ally was aware of who all the girls wanted her to be when they shared.
"Gail will pretend I'm 'Cameron'." Ally said.
Ally wondered if maybe she would really be thought of as 'Cammy' at this point by Sheila. She was very jealous of the fact that Cammy was the one who went with Sheila into the past for eight years. It was supposed to be her but Cameron sent Cammy instead to punish her for some perceived infraction that she committed against Cameron. She wanted to make Cammy 'suffer' for being away from Savannah for that time period. She was sure that Cammy replaced her as Sheila's main love interest. She felt a glitch impulse as she thought about it. She didn't want to know if she'd been 'replaced'.
Gail didn't think it was a big deal.
"So?" Gail asked. "Everyone does it."
Sheila often played 'Jesse' or 'Young Jesse' when anyone ever wanted her to. She would always play 'Young Jesse' for Savannah. Savannah always asked her to be herself after she did that one time. That request always made her feel good inside that somebody wanted her to be who she was. That was one of the things that made Savannah extra special to her.
"It sounds like an honor." Sheila said. "Does it matter?"
Ally was always pleased with the extra attention she received as 'Cameron'.
"Nope." Ally said. "It just means you all work harder to satisfy me."
All three Metal girls laughed.
It helped to take away the tension and apprehension they felt about Cameron's team and John being out in the field.
At least none of them started to glitch - yet.
If things took a worse turn for either Savannah or John, it would have an adverse affect on all three of them.
John and Bob continued on their quest to link up with Steve's team. So far that was the only big rig that they'd spotted of the three. John was determined to find out what was in it. If it was empty, he wanted to find out where the HK equipment was left.
John Henry explained to John what was happening with Steve's team. They were on the big rig's tail.
John was now in direct communication with Steve.
"Do you have a visual?" John asked.
Steve kept them under constant surveillance.
"Affirmative…." Steve said. "They're about to pull in to get some fuel."
John felt an instant red flag go up.
"Or they're setting you up." John said. "Don't slow or stop and obtain a new vehicle. Drive past them or turn off before you get to them. You'll need a new vehicle for sure."
Steve believed that he'd been careful not to be 'made' by the Skynet forces.
"I don't want to lose them again." Steve said.
John Henry was able to move a drone into position to back up Steve's team.
"You have a drone ready to engage them if necessary." John Henry said. "I have both targets 'locked up'."
John didn't want to take any chances. Steve's team was in a semi remote area currently. For the big truck to stop along with its support vehicle seemed to indicate they thought they had a tail.
"Steve, get a different vehicle." John said again. "I don't like this."
Steve understood John's concern even though he thought they'd been unobserved.
"Affirmative…." Steve said.
John knew they were much closer to Steve's team but he was sure there was still some distance to make up.
"Bob, how far away are we?" John asked.
Bob worked hard to close the gap but he also needed to use a certain amount of safety in regard to John.
"Unfortunately it's still about an hour." Bob said.
John was aware a lot could happen in that time. He looked behind them to check on the Metal girls.
"That's too long." John said. "Are the girls still behind us? I don't see them."
The Metal girls were close behind them earlier. Bob observed what they did as they drove. He hoped to keep the answer simple.
"They've slowed some, they needed to switch drivers." Bob said.
John looked over at Bob. That sounded highly unusual to him.
"Switch drivers?" John asked. "What for? They don't get tired."
Bob didn't say anything.
John wondered about his silence and attempted to figure out why and then it hit him.
"Do you mean they are…?" John asked.
Bob didn't want it to become an issue. He observed that the van was in back of them again.
"It's best if we don't know." Bob said. "They've caught up again."
John looked back. He wondered if he could see anything. He couldn't. The glare of the headlights hurt his eyes. He briefly thought that Bob could stop and he could ride with the Metal girls and watch them in action with each other. He would be purely an observer and not a participant. To watch two Metal girls together, he would gladly be JAFO. He'd been able to observe Vanna and Allison together several times when they tried to get him to be with them. It went from periods of the most intense sex that he'd ever seen to periods of pure sweet beauty as they slowly made love to each other and shared themselves completely. It was as educational as it was arousing. He glanced at Bob and quickly adjusted his pants. How could he have turned them down?
He looked at Bob and shook his head as if to clear his thoughts. It was time to move on to the other operation.
"What's the story on Cameron?" John asked.
John Henry kept a careful watch on Cameron's team and the team of Terminators that were there. He also continued to check the surrounding area for a breakout of Grays from a hidden location associated with the bunker.
"The drone footage shows they're about to breach the bunker in the northeast corner." John Henry said. "I've seen evidence of a few explosions from the area of the inner blast door. I don't think they can breach it."
John hoped for a little more specific information. He wanted to know so he decided to ask anyway.
"Where are the girls?" John asked.
John Henry was ready with the answer.
"Savannah is on perimeter security near the bulldozer." John Henry said. "Cammy was last seen attempting to help with the blast door on the bunker."
There was one more person John wanted to know about.
"Where's Cameron?' John asked.
John Henry noted Cameron's concern for all of her troops.
"Cameron is on roving patrol. She's watching over all of the others." John Henry said. "She's protecting them all."
John smiled. Cameron was protecting all of them and when they would be ready to enter the bunker, she would be the one who would lead the assault.
Cameron was worried about everyone. She was still not sure if there was another way out of the bunker and a counter attack would be launched. She knew their drones were on patrol but they still didn't have any communication yet with John Henry or CamNet.
She patrolled the entire area. She didn't spot anything. She was sure the Grays were waiting to make a break for it. She figured they would wait until the bunker was breached. Most of their force should be ready to storm the interior then. If the Grays were gathered at the escape point, they would have the best chance of getting away. They would try for a breakout.
She was aware that if a group of Grays was able to break out it would leave Savannah exposed to more danger. Cameron didn't look forward to an underground 'adventure'. She didn't want Savannah to have to experience it again either. She would need to make sure Savannah didn't enter the bunker.
Cameron headed over to join Savannah. When she came around the bulldozer, Savannah was gone. She continued all the way around. She found Savannah who now pointed her M4 at her. She held her Taser as well underneath the fore grip. She hadn't expected a greeting like that. Then again she did try to creep up somewhat clandestinely.
Savannah immediately lowered her weapons and thought she needed to offer an explanation.
"I saw movement." Savannah said. "I was unsure it was you with our communications down."
Cameron felt that was the appropriate behavior. It seemed to her that Savannah was a little bit 'off'.
"You always do an excellent job." Cameron said. "You looked troubled."
Savannah spoke a little harsher than she'd intended.
"Who would know better than you?" Savannah asked. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean that."
Cameron looked at the dead Grays littering the ground. She knew that wasn't the problem.
"Is it because of the female Gray?" Cameron asked.
Savannah spoke without hesitation.
"Yes." Savannah said.
Cameron thought they've been over this issue enough to have it resolved. That apparently wasn't the case.
"She was a Gray, she would have talked. She would have endangered John and our operation. She tried to kill you." Cameron said. "She could identify us. She could give descriptions of everyone. She would have endangered you."
Savannah's face had only been about a foot away from the female Gray's face as she died.
"I didn't expect her to look at me as she died." Savannah said.
Cameron was worried Savannah might blame her now.
"You didn't try to move your hands away." Cameron said.
Savannah swallowed hard.
"The 'job' wasn't finished." Savannah said. "I needed to protect OUR family. I did."
Cammy saw they were talking and came over to join them.
The bulldozer crushed another chunk out of the corner.
"Once that rebar is severed, one more blow should produce an opening." Cameron said.
While she'd been on guard duty, Savannah thought about how they should enter the bunker and keep damage to a minimum for their team. She was aware more Grays needed to die to insure that their team would be safe. She knew it was more blood on her hands. That impending death didn't seem to bother her.
"Once we get an opening into the bunker, I want a missile fired inside." Savannah said. "I want it fired before any of our team goes inside."
Cameron and Cammy looked at each other. That hadn't been something that either one of them thought about.
Savannah noted the looks on Cameron's and Cammy's faces. She wanted to explain her thoughts more thoroughly.
"If the Grays stayed to fight, they know right where we will come in at. They'll be waiting to ambush the team." Savannah said. "If they don't have another way out, that's where they will have to fight. If they want to escape, they don't have a choice. They should be massed there, waiting to make their move."
Cameron knew since they weren't trying to blow the bunker open at the corner, the Grays would not be expecting a missile to enter. They would be expecting a ground assault. It was an effective strategy. The Grays would be caught off guard and bunched up to try and make a breakout to save themselves.
"What's the status of the bunker door?" Cameron asked.
Cammy was displeased with the slow progress.
"It has about three quarters of its thickness melted in the lower quadrant. It's severely weakened." Cammy said. "We have one satchel charge left."
Savannah didn't think so based upon the angles she'd observed earlier but she thought it was worth asking.
"Can a missile reach directly there?" Savannah asked. "To the door?"
Cameron would have used that option already if it was possible.
"No, it's designed to prevent that." Cameron said.
Cammy looked over at the bulldozer as it made another run.
"Our best bet is the corner entry." Cammy said.
Savannah wondered if the Grays could make a breakout from the inner bunker door.
"Can the blast door still be opened from the inside?" Savannah asked.
That was one possibility that Cammy always had the teams who worked on the inner blast door to pay attention to, to make sure that they weren't surprised.
"No. Part of it is melted to the floor." Cammy said.
Savannah felt her original idea was the one that they should back.
"I still want a missile fired inside the corner breech point." Savannah said. "I want our troops protected. I want you protected, Cameron."
Cammy needed some way to communicate with John Henry.
"I need to signal for a drone to come down and land." Cammy said.
Savannah would rather have that drones remain airborne. She wondered if there was an alternate form of communication available.
"Can John Henry 'lip read' you if you look up at the drone?" Savannah asked.
Cameron tilted her head slightly.
"Yes." Cameron said.
"Then do it." Savannah said.
Cameron waved her arms and looked up. The moon lit her face as she silently spoke.
Savannah wanted to make sure that all the troops knew what was going to happen once an opening was breached into the wall of the bunker. She didn't want anyone surprised or caught off guard.
"Cammy, I want you to tell each member of the team what's going to happen and when." Savannah said. "I don't want anyone getting shrapnel damage."
Cameron rejoined them.
"The bulldozer will block most of that." Cameron said. "I have communicated our plans. After the missile is fired, the drone will join the others looking for a 'breakout'."
Cammy departed and started to speak with each team member.
"Cameron…." Savannah started.
Cameron looked at Savannah.
"I'll lead the entry." Cameron said.
Savannah reached out and gently touched Cameron's cheek.
"I know." Savannah said. "Cameron, be careful."
The two of them looked at each other for a long moment like that. Cameron reached up and gently touched Savannah's cheek. The simple gesture said a lot, without a word needing to be spoken.
No, Not Really
Everything yet to happen
Remains only a guess
Is there more to have
If you can own or possess
We can take a gamble
Roll the dice
Never look back
Never think twice
When we take a chance
Reaching for the unknown
It's a pretty good bet
We could end up alone
So with great confusion
We see the other reach out
To a stranger no less
It fills us with doubt
I feel distant and unwanted
You've grown quite chilly
Do you think I understand this
No, not really
Nobody
