Yang yelled in excitement as she flew through the air using Ember Celica to propel herself forward. She glance to her left to see the bull head lowering to the ground. Smiling she turned her focus back to landing. "After finding Ruby we'll meet up with Wrecker, Tech, and.." she thought before blushing. "Outrider."

"We'll be touching down Troopers." The bullhead pilot said opening to doors. "Isn't that yang?" Wrecker asked as a yellow and brown blur flew past. "yep," Outrider said swinging his helmet's faceplate down before facing his friends. "Wrecker, hang on to old reliable for me will ya?" Tech realized what Outrider was doing. "We're a hundred feet in the air." Outrider chuckled. "Yeah, but if we're going to set up operations at beacon, we might as well develop our landing strategies." He said before falling backwards.

"He'll get himself killed one of these days." Hunter said shaking his head watching Outrider launch a cable from his wrist into a tree. Ozpin chuckled watching the three present bad batch members look at a tablet viewing their teammates. "But he's right about one thing." Echo said gaining hunter's attention. "What's that?" he asked. "We're going to need landing strategies if we're going to work with huntsmen." The cybernetic clone said

Outrider watched as the bullhead landed while he holstered his DC-17 blaster pistols. "I must say even though that was a stupid move… that landing strategy was impressive." Tech said as wrecker handed Old Reliable to the heavy gunner. Suddenly, the three heard gunfire. "That sounds like Crescent Rose." Wrecker said before he, Tech, and Outrider rushed towards the sound.

"Where did all these Grimm come from?" Weiss said as she and Ruby backed away as a horde of Grimm advanced. "I don't know, but I wish we had met up with Tech, Wrecker and outrider first." Ruby said. "Who?" Weiss asked "they're.." the scarlet reaper said before a familiar voice yelled. "Time for the wrecking ball!"

(Bad Batch theme plays)

The two looked to the left as wrecker charged forward harpooning several Grimm while shooting them. Tech soon followed firing his DC-17s. Outrider came up last mowing down Grimm. Weiss' mouth lowered in disbelief seeing the three operatives while Ruby cheered at seeing her friends.

(Bad Batch theme end)

"I'm impressed Sergeant." Ozpin said seeing the team work Wrecker, Tech, and Outrider were doing." Hunter smiled "thank you sir." He said before noticing Crosshair switch the tablet to Yang. "Crosshair, what are you doing?" Echo asked. "Checking on Outrider's girlfriend." The sniper said. "Crosshair, he hasn't…" hunter said before he was cut off by Ozpin. "Miss Xiao Long has indeed shown interest in your heavy gunner, hunter. However, it remains to be seen if Outrider returns it."

Yang walked alongside Blake as she silently panicked. 'What if outrider doesn't like me. oh, I hope he does." Yang thought. "You ok?" Blake asked making the blond brawler jump. "Yes.. yes I am." Yang said giving a nervous chuckle. Blake narrowed her eyes before yang stopped and sighed. "I like one of Bad Batch's members and I don't know if he likes me back." She said. "like him? As in, you love him?" Blake asked before yang nodded.

"May be you should just tell him and get it over with." Blake said as they exited the forest. Suddenly an explosion rocked the ground. "The hell? Blake said. "Probably Wrecker throwing a thermal detonator." Yang said.

"What the hell did you throw?!" Weiss asked. "A thermal detonator." Wrecker said. "At least it wasn't a napalm one. Otherwise, we'd have a forest fire on hand." Outrider said flipping his faceplate up. "Now lets regroup with yang and her partner." Ruby smirked. "You sure are worried about my sister. You love her don't you." She said. Outrider gave her the stink eye and closed his faceplate. 'thought so.' The scarlet reaper snickered quietly while Weiss raised an eyebrow.

"What's so funny?" she asked. "Can you keep a secret." Ruby whispered looking at Outrider. Weiss nodded. She may not be one for gossip, but she would keep a secret. "My sister has a crush on Outrider." Ruby whispered before hissing was heard.

Yang approached the ruins with Blake. "So, Outrider saved you from an ursa and you fell in love with him because of that?" Blake asked as yang picked up a knight chess piece. "How about a little pony?" the blond brawler asked before answering Blake's question. "That and his kind nature." Blake smiled as a voice yelled.

"Haul your kriffing ass!" the two turned towards the direction and saw Ruby, Weiss, Wrecker, and Tech run out of the forest while Outrider backed up firing Old Reliable. "Which one's Outrider?" Blake asked. "The one that's walking backwards." Yang said as an alpha king tajitu appeared. "Son of a bitch." Yang exclaimed seeing the snake.

Outrider dodged the giant snake's lunge at him. "Force me, that was close." He said. "Ok, you want to eat something" outrider activated a thermal detonator and placed it in a bag with other thermal detonators.

"He's not going to, is he?" Wrecker asked. Tech glanced at Yang. "Let's hope not." He said praying. Outrider tossed the bag into the snake's mouth. "Choke on this, you snake bastard." He yelled throwing the bag before dodging another lunge. Picking up Old Reliable, Outrider ran as the snake stopped and began to gag. "That Grimm looks like it's going to be sick." Yang said before the Grimm exploded. The shockwave reached all the way to Ozpin, Glynda, and the rest of the Bad Batch.

"My word." Goodwitch said seeing the fireball rise. Echo chuckled. "That would be Outrider's doing." Hunter said. "That was our entire stash of thermal detonators." Crosshair said. "Don't worry. I'll show you how to make explosives with dust." Ozpin said.

Outrider was sent flying towards the ruins and landed with a pained grunt. He rolled onto his back and looked at where the Grimm had been. All that was left was a very large scorch mark. "I fucking hate Grimm." Outrider said as Yang's face came into view with a concerned look. "You ok?" she asked. "Yeah, give me a second Lil' dragon." He said. Outside yang's face remained neutral, but inside she was freaking out. 'Oh, my Oum. Another nickname. I love it more than Yellow dragon.' She thought

"Interesting, Ms. Xiao Long is concerned for his well-being." Ozpin said before turning to hunter. "Has any of the girls Outrider asked out been worried for his well-being before? The ones that he presumably saved beforehand." Hunter shook his head "No. I guess Yang might be the one for him."

Soon, the remaining beacon hopefuls arrived. "Ok now what?" Jaune asked looking at the Bad Batch members. "Why are you looking at us. We're proving our selves to Ozpin, not to become students." Wrecker said. "But you have more experience with fighting." Pyrrha said. "Yeah, with clankers, not Grimm." Ren frowned at the word clanker. "We came here for these "relics". I suggest we get out of here." Ruby said. "Snatch and grab. Love it." Jaune said.

The group of eleven ran to the ruins of a tower while a Deathstalker chased them. "Well, we can't complain that we didn't get our exercise today." Outrider said while yang laughed. Meanwhile Nora was having trouble keeping up after twisting ankle. "Hurry Nora. We're nearly there." Ren said as Nora tripped. "No!" Ren said gaining the other's attention.

"Nora!" everyone screamed. Outrider stopped and dropped Old Reliable. "Outrider? Tech asked already knowing what he was going to do. The heavy gunner didn't respond as he unholstered his pistols and ran at the deathstalker shooting it. "The hell's he doing!" Yang exclaimed in a worried tone. "Saving her." Wrecker said as Outrider rushed up to Nora before pulling the pink dynamo to her feet. "Move!" he said as the deathstalker approached going for Outrider as Nora limped towards her friends.

Yang watched as Outrider dodged the Deathstalker's stinger, but he failed to notice it's pincher. "Outrider look out!" she yelled. However, it was too late. The pincher collided with Outrider's body throwing him into a nearby pillar. "NO!" Yang said rushing forward picking up Old Reliable as she did.

"Shit. Crosshair!" hunter yelled. "Already on it." The sniper said launching a cable. "Let's go Echo." Hunter said as Crosshair got into position. "She's going to get herself killed." Wrecker said charging firing his blaster rifle. Yang stopped and pulled the trigger.

(Bad Batch theme plays)

Ruby turned around and saw her sister holding Outrider's gun. "Sis… you truly do love outrider." She muttered as Echo and Hunter rushed by her.

Outrider looked up to see Yang using Old Reliable while making her way to him. 'You're truly amazing Yang. I love you.' He thought before passing out. Yang got closer to Outrider as the Deathstalker finally succumbed to the multiple blaster shots its body had taken. "That's what you get." She said as her eyes glowed red for an instant.

(Bad Batch them end)

Yang looked to Outrider's body and dropped Old Reliable and rushed to his side. She took his helmet off. "Outrider, look at me. Please wake up." She begged as tears began to run down her face. Tech crouched down next to her. After a brief scan, he looked to yang. "Don't worry. He's still alive." Tech said before yang smiled hugging the unconscious trooper.

2 Weeks later

Ruby awoke in her dorms to see that yang's bed was empty. Sighing, she got up accidentally waking Weiss. "Ruby, it's the weekend go back to bed." She said. "Yang's back in the hospital ward." The leader of Team RWBY said. "Great. Has she told him yet?" Blake asked. "Outrider's still unconscious." a voice said. the three turned to see Tech leaning against the doorframe without his helmet on.

MEANWHILE IN THE HOSPITAL WING

Hunter watched as Yang sat in the chair next to Outrider. He smiled knowing that she'd be there when he woke up. Even if she wasn't, Tech had given her a communicator so one of them could let her know. "He likes you just so you're aware." Echo said handing yang a cup of coffee. "Thank you." The blond brawler said taking a sip.

"it wasn't your fault, you know. Outrider knows the risks." Yang looked up to see omega. "Omega, what are you doing here." Hunter asked as Taiyang answered. "Ozpin contacted me and I came to check on yang." Hunter nodded. "She wasn't hurt, but she feels responsible for him being in a coma." Echo said.

"Yang," Tai said "I know that your worried about him. And I hope that he wakes up for you." Yang looked to her dad. "Why?" she asked. "Because you love him and I'm pretty sure he loves you." Yang smiled when a feminine voice spoke up. "if it means anything to you Yang. I actually feel responsible." Everyone turned to see Nora. "What do you mean?" Tai asked. "Outrider saved Nora by distracting the deathstalker chasing after her." Echo said. Any further comment were cut off by a groan.

"Did anyone get the license plate of that speeder." Outrider said earning some chuckles from the gathered Bad Batch members. "Hey Sarge, is Nora alright?" hunter grinned "She's safe trooper, but someone's been worried about you specifically." He said pointing at Yang who tensed up and blushed. "Let's leave these two alone shall we?" Echo said gently pushing Omega out.

Soon, Yang and outrider were alone. "So, you were worried about me?" the heavy gunner asked. Yang blushed and nodded. "My heart nearly stopped when I saw you hit the pillar." The blond said. "Can I ask you something Yang?" Outrider asked. "You just did." Yang said as Outrider rolled his eyes. "But yes you can." She looked down to her hand when she felt something grasp it. Her eyes widened when she saw it was one of outrider's hands "Yang, do you…. Love me?" the heavy gunner asked. Yang was shocked at the question.

Outrider looked away knowing that he was going to be rejected. However, he felt her hand tighten in his grasp. Looking back at her he saw that she was smiling while tears fell down her face. "Yes…" the blond said. "Yes, I do." Smiling, Outrider placed his other hand behind her head and brought her in close for a kiss. "I love you too, Yang Xiao Long." He said before they kissed.

A/N: and thus, ends chapter 5. Outrider and Yang are an official couple. Way too early I know. This chapter had to be longer due to the events needed to lead up to the confession.
