"I worried about Yang. What if Outrider doesn't wake up?" Ruby said as beeping sound was heard. Ruby, Weiss, and Blake looked to Tech. Realizing that his communicator was going off, the brains of Bad Batch answered. "Tech here." He said before his eyes widened. "Understood, I'll tell them." Ruby raised an eyebrow. "Tech. what is it?" Tech smiled. "it appears that Outrider has come out of his coma… and confessed to your sister." He said as ruby cheered. "YES! CALLED IT!" she yelled while her teammates looked at her. "Whoops, sorry." Tech chuckled. "I will admit that it's actually a shock." He said gaining Blake's attention
"What do you mean?" she asked. "Outrider.. didn't exactly have the best track record with girls. He said that he'd given up during initiation. I'm surprised Ms. Xiao Long actually returned the feelings." Tech said before adjusting his goggles. The remaining members looked at each other.
"So, what happened while I was out?" Outrider asked Yang. "Well, we got our team placements." Yang said drinking the coffee Echo gave her. "And?" the non-clone asked. "I got placed on a team with my sister." Outrider smiled. "And the other two?" he asked. "Weiss Schnee, and Blake Belladonna." The blond brawler said before noticing Outrider's expression. "Something wrong?" the heavy gunner looked at her. "Weiss is the girl who yelled at your sister." Yang rolled her eyes.
"Yes, but she's getting better." She said. "Though Wrecker keeps an eye on her just in case." This made both of them laugh. "Wrecker's like that. He acts like a big brother to Omega." Outrider said as hunter re-entered the room with Taiyang. "How about that. Instead of telling my daughter you loved her, you asked if she loved you." Tai said making the non-clone jump. "Mr. Xiao Long I…" outrider said before Tai raised a hand. "As long as you don't break my sunny little dragon's heart… I'm fine with you dating my daughter." Outrider nodded before hunter spoke up
"I spoke with the nurse, she said that you can check out of the hospital wing." He said "Ozpin also has a job for us." Yang got up to help steady outrider. "What's the sitrep?" Outrider asked. "Strange activity in a section of the emerald forest that he wants us to look into. I've also requested that Team RWBY accompany us." Hunter said winking at the new couple making them blush.
LATER
"So, what's the intel." Outrider asked. Tech brought up a hologram stunning team RWBY and making Yang latch onto Outrider. "Easy, it's just a hologram." He said reassuring the brawler. "According to Ozpin, the strange activity has been roughly forty mikes Southwest from Vale." Tech said zooming in on the location. "Mostly forested at best. Now we'll need stealth to recon" all of Bad Batch sighed when Wrecker spoke up. "I hate that word." He said complaining. "Wrecker, we know you hate it. We heard you the first time during the battle of Annaxes." Outrider said. "We're nearing the drop zone Bad Batch and RWBY." The pilot said as the door opened.
(Armed and Ready; RWBY ost plays)
"Hey yang?" Outrider said. "yeah hon?" the blond brawler asked as her boyfriend flipped down his helmet's faceplate. "Last one down has to pay for dinner." Outrider said before sprinting out of the bullhead. "No fair." The brawler said following suit as Wrecker laughed and Ruby shook her head. Outrider launched a cable and reeled himself in before releasing it and dropping to the ground. Yang landed not long after.
(Armed and Ready; RWBY ost ends)
"You cheated." She said storming up to him. "in war, your enemy won't play fair yang." Outrider said as the bullhead landed. "Having a fight already?" Crosshair asked. "Not really. Just testing her patience and telling her that in a combat situation the enemy won't fight fair." Outrider said. "Hmph." Yang said crossing her arms. Tech noticed Blake rubbing her neck. "Is your neck stiff?" he asked. "No. just nervous since we're in the field with you guys." Blake said.
Hunter placed a hand on her shoulder. "There's no need to be nervous, you've got a group of elite combat operatives watching your back." He said not knowing that outrider was snickering. "What's so funny?" Yang asked having noticed her boyfriend's snickering. "I don't think you're the only one who likes a member of my team, Lil' dragon." The heavy gunner said jabbing a thumb at Blake, whom was blushing, as hunter walked away. Yang grinned deviously. "Let's leave it for now." Her boyfriend said.
Hunter brought out a disk and the hologram of professor Port appeared. "Professor, we've entered the forest, but no signs of activity." He said. "understood hunter, but be careful. There are smart Grimm in this world, so they'll wait for an opening to strike." Port said. hunter nodded before the hologram vanished.
Crosshair shot at a beo-wolf killing it. "I don't like this." He said. "isn't this area usually swarming with Grimm?" Yang nodded. "yeah it is." She said. "Who cares, as long as I'm able to shoot things I'm happy." Wrecker said while Yang and Ruby shook their heads in amusement. However, the group of ten were unaware that they were being watched.
"Interesting." Adam said watching the group through a computer screen. "So, this is the famous "Bad Batch" you told me about." A voice said behind him said. The bull faunas turned to face a scientist. "Yes, doctor merlot they are." Adam said. "I can't wait to see how they fair against my creations." Merlot said as Adam walked up to one of four stasis tanks.
"Have you made any progress on the serum?" he asked. "it's coming along slowly, but with this technology you gave me. I hope to make enough for all four of…" merlot began. "No, only enough for this one." Adam said as merlot frowned. "Do bear in mind taurus that this is my island and lab. Now come, let's give them their rest. Their time will come." He said as Adam looked at the tank he was in front of one last time before they left the room.
