"Professor, we're nearing a cave I assume the control sensor is inside." Hunter said over the radio. "Yes hunter. If you can find it and see what's wrong let me know." Port said. "Yes sir." Hunter said as Wrecker came up. "So, much for combat." He said looking back at outrider, and echo. "Echo and Outrider's entertaining the girls with war stories."
"Wait, Wrecker's what!?" Ruby asked with an amused grin on her face. "You heard me. He's afraid of heights." Outrider said as team RWBY laughed. "He says he doesn't like high places, that just means he's afraid of heights." Echo said. "First learned that when we saved him on skako minor." Outrider said jabbing a thumb at the cybernetic clone. "I assume that Skako Minor is a planet." Blake said. "Moon actually." Tech said
"I have to ask Echo, were you always with Bad Batch?" Yang asked. "No… I was once a reg." Echo said confusing Team RWBY. "the hell's a reg?" Yang asked looking to her boyfriend for answers. "It's… complicated." Was all the heavy gunner said making the brawler narrow her eyes
"The signal's strong. We're here." Hunter said. the group of ten stood at the entrance of a cave. "That must be the sensor." Ruby said stepping towards it before Wrecker placed a hand on her shoulder. "Easy little red. It's quiet. Too quiet." He said. "Probably means a trap." Crosshair said. "What now?" Hunter placed two fingers to his helmet.
"Port we've found the sensor, there doesn't seem to be any damage done to it. However, the sensor itself is offline." He said. "Understood hunter I… wait, that emblem on the device seems familiar. Can you get a closer look?" Port asked before the Bad Batch and Team RWBY approached the sensor.
MEANWHILE
Adam watched Bad Batch and Team RWBY examine one of the three sensors in the emerald forest. The door opened to reveal Dr. Merlot with two White fang soldiers. "Is she nearly done?" the bull faunas asked. They all are almost done, but I would also like all of the girls to live full lives instead of just one. "HC-003 is the only one I care about Merlot, the other three are expendable." Adam said as Merlot looked at the stasis tanks with a girl in each one. 'I understand he cares only for the faunas, but I would really like to see them all live a good life." The scientist thought.
BACK WITH BAD BATCH AND TEAM RWBY
"Tech see if there's a port Echo can hack into and get this thing up and running." Hunter said. "Everyone else get ready, I have a feeling that we're going to have company. "Understood hunter." Came the collective cry of the bad batch members. Hunter looked to Team RWBY. "I suggest you prepare your team, Ruby." He said. Ruby nodded and looked at her team. "Defense positions." She said
"I got power but it'll take a while." Echo said as roars were heard. "Understood. Here they come." Hunter said unsheathing his knife and unholstering his pistol. "Blast them." Outrider said spinning up Old reliable while Yang stood beside him firing away.
"Some date this turned out to be." The brawler said. "This doesn't count as a date hon." Outrider said while swinging Old Reliable like a bat into a beowolf before shooting it. "Is NOW really the time to talk about dates?" ruby asked hacking off a creeper's head. "She brought it up Rubes." The heavy gunner said. "And… got it." Echo said as a pulse of energy spread throughout the cave vaporizing any Grimm in the area. "It's at a hundred percent." Hunter nodded and contacted Port.
"Sir, we've activated the sensor." He said. "Understood, but the signal still has some static. There's two more sensors nearby." Hunter nodded. "So, mission complete?" Yang asked him while reloading Ember Celica. "Not quite Yang. There's two more sensors that need to be activated." The leader of Bad Batch said before smirking. "then you can have your date with Outrider." Yang and outrider blushed. However, the group were unaware that they were being followed.
"So those are red's new friends." The taller one, a man, said as the shorter one, a woman, smirked. "Shall we Neo?" the man asked. The woman, Neo, nodded before taking the man's arm and shattering like glass.
Yang looked around the ruins looking for the second control sensor with Outrider's binoculars. "Anything Yang?" Echo asked coming up next to her. "I see something on that stone platform out there." The blond brawler said pointing to a structure in the distance while handing Echo the binoculars. "so, where's Ruby and hunter?" Echo looked at her. "They went to scout ahead." He said
"So Ruby, I have to ask. What made you decide to become a huntress." Hunter asked. "To follow in my mother's footsteps and help those who can't help themselves." Ruby said. "A great pledge. I'm sure your mother's proud." Hunter said before Ruby looked down in sadness. "My mom's gone. She disappeared when I was young so they labeled her as killed in action." The scarlet reaper said breaking down. "I'm sorry I brought it up." Hunter said embracing Ruby.
"Well, looks likes red's got mommy issues." A voice said. Hunter looked up to see a man and woman stand in front of him and Ruby. "Roman." The scarlet reaper said swapping Crescent Rose into it's scythe form. "You know this guy." Hunter said unsheathing his knife and hand hovering near his blaster pistol.
"He's the guy who robbed the dust shop I told you about." Ruby said. "Roman Torchwick, at your service." The ginger haired man said. "And this is my associate Neopolitan." The woman smirked while waving. "I take it that your not here for pleasantries." Hunter said gently forcing Ruby behind him while gesturing to a radio-like object on his back.
Wrecker watched as Yang and outrider chatted about plans post mission. 'he's a lucky guy. Too bad in twenty or so years I'll be gone.' (A/N: He's a clone remember) he thought. Suddenly, his communicator went off. "Wrecker here." He said as ruby spoke up. "Wrecker, you remember the crime I stopped right. Well, the guy responsible is here." Wrecker frowned.
"On my way." He said putting his helmet on. "Wrecker, what's wrong?" Echo asked gaining the remaining bad batch and team RWBY member's attention. "Hunter and ruby ran into the guy responsible for the crime she told us about." The gentle giant said. "Let's give this guy a beating he won't forget." Outrider said.
"so, I can pay you a huge sum of money to guard my caravans." Roman said. "A tempting offer, but we don't work with criminals." Roman frowned. 'interesting, he's a hired gun but won't work for a criminal. Normally hired guns are freelance.' Neo thought.
Roman sighed. "Good help is so hard to find." He muttered. "then this is where we part." Roman was about to raise his cane when a yell was heard. "Time for the wrecking ball." Hunter and rose dove to the side to reveal wrecker bum charging at the ginger haired man. "Oh shit." He said before getting plowed into by the muscle of the Bad Batch.
"How do you like them apples." Wrecker said laughing. "That was my favorite suit." Roman said in disgust before glaring at Wrecker. "So, ginger you want a fight? Well, you got one." The gentle giant said cracking his knuckles.
