CHAPTER 8

(BILL'S P.O.V)

The package Russell received now lay on the coffee table, while Russell hurriedly opened it. "History in the making Bill," Russell laughed gleefully. Suddenly Russell froze in confusion, as we both realized the package that Russell ripped apart was empty. Russell's confusion then turned to panic, as he continued to hilariously dig for his imaginary medallion. I would have laughed if the situation wasn't a deadly one.

"Where's the medallion Bill?," Russell suddenly appeared in front of me. "I don't know what you're talking about-" I began to say. "Bullshit!," Russell exclaimed enraged at my response. Without warning his right hand shot up, and grabbed me by the neck, thus strangling me, as he lifted me into the air.

"You're involved aren't you?!," As I continued to gasp for air, Russell then slams me into the ground, and cruelly crushes his left shoe into my head in a split second using his inhuman speed. "I've been watching you Bill," Russell growled. "And I still can't fathom how a pathetic one hundred year old vampire such as yourself, became King of Louisiana. No matter, once you hand over the medallion I'll finish you off, and take over your territory." I was about to explain again that I didn't have it in my possession, when I heard my front door slam open.

"LET HIM GO!," I heard Mario demanded. "Who…" Russell said nonchalantly. "The fuck are you?." "I'm Bill's friend, and I have what you're looking for." Russell immediately removed his foot from my head, allowing me to stand, but stared at me threateningly to not move. Mario closed my front door silently, keeping his eyes on the amused Russell, as Mario offered the silver medallion with his outstretched left arm. Without hesitation Mario throws the medallion to Russell who catches it with his arm. "How'd you get possession of the medallion?," I asked Mario, genuinely confused. It was one thing if Mario heard about the medallion through rumors, but him having possession of it was not what I was expecting.

"Tara told me about the medallion," Mario explained, as Russell put on the medallion now. The silver medallion had an emerald placed in the middle of it. "And I just found a Clurichaun inside my house fifteen minutes ago, who was wearing it around its neck." "It's been awhile since I've seen one of those," Russell casually stated. "Seems like I was wrong about you Bill being involved." "The Clurichaun raided my wine cellar, and promised anything in return," Mario further explained. "I asked about the medallion he had around his neck, and he told me he stole it from the vampire king," Mario gestured to Russell. "So I told the Clurichaun that I wanted it 'cause I planned on giving it to you, however right when I was about to come over, I saw through your windows that Russell was strangling the shit out of you, so I rushed over so you wouldn't die."

"You should make him one of your right hand man," Russell suggested to me. "He's very loyal as a friend. That's rare nowadays." "Well Mario," Russell then turns to him. "You just saved Bill's life, and gave me back my medallion. Just like Bill you get to witness me walk in the sun untouched in the morning. In the meantime Bill, why don't we play a game of chess to pass the time since we have…" Russell paused checking his watch. "About eight hours till sunlight. Oh and Mario," he said to Mario suddenly right up in his face in an instant. "If you try to escape, I won't hesitate to kill you. You see how easily I overpowered Bill."

Russell then casually walked away, and headed to the closest sofa, as Mario and I exchanged worried looks.
