A/N: The original is a prolouge to a story but I read this when I was correcting it and thought well it could be a scenario to why Kagome's father isn't around. The original is much better. If you want to see it let me know.
Unable to Love
Darkness clouded the room of 7 year old Kagome Higurashi. Hiding under her light purple blanket she counted.
1…2…3
SMASH
Even though she knew it was coming, her small, frail body jumped in fright. Voices of a woman and man arguing echoed through the tiny space she called a room.
The deep voice of a man known as her father shouted "I DON'T KNOW WHY I PUT UP WITH YOU ANYMORE!"
"YOU KNOW WHY! IT'S FOR KAGOME!" Argued the feminine voice of her mother.
Once again their arguments were caused by her. There was no love in her parent's relationship and there probably never was. Her existence was a fluke. Her father had always made sure that she knew that she was a mistake and that she had 'ruined' his once 'perfect' live.
"Yeah well she is your mistake. It's not my fault you were so easy."
Grabbing her pillow tightly, Kagome once again counted.
1…2…3…
SMACK!
"I won't take this anymore." Her mother whispered.
"Well darling, you won't have to. I'm leaving."
With that he gathered his belongings and walked out of the door and out of their lives forever.
