Love you to Death - Part 4 (End)

*** Alison's narrative (voice-over) ***

I'm not perfect. My heart is defective, too many years of being cold & alone, it's rusty because of it. But, even if my heart is rusty, defective... I love you, my defective heart loves you to Death, I just wonder if you feel the same...

(Inside Alison's house)

Pam - "Emy, help me to find Xmas decorations in this house..."

Emily. - "Mom, this is not our house. What if Ali doesn't like that kind of stuffs...?"

It was already December, and even if the tornado was no longer a threat, when the tornado passed by Rosewood, it did big damage to the Fields house. So, till everything gets repaired, they will continue living with Alison. The blonde seemed delighted with the intrusion, but every day, Emily felt more and more concerned about it, she doesn't want to cause any trouble, 'walking on her toes' would be the best expression to describe how Emily wants to act around the house, but...

Pam opens a closet, and, says. - "Oh, I think I found them!"

Emily pleads. - "Mom, please stop, you..."

Pam starts to get the things out, and, says. - "I'll decorate this house with or without your help. So, what it's gonna be, Emy...?"

Emily sighs

Pam. - "Sweety, everyone loves Xmas..."

Emily. - "And, what if Ali doesn't like it?"

Pam puts some Christmas adornments on Emily's hands, and, says. - "Well, if she doesn't like Xmas now, she will..." (teasing smirk) "When she become a member of the family..."

Emily blushes. - "M-m-mom!"

Pam shrugs. - "What? Do not look at me like that, I like her. And, I want her in the family. I'm putting that as my only request to Santa, so..."

Emily rolls her eyes, she doesn't want to talk more about it. So, she decides to help in order to change the subject. It's not that she hates the idea of her & Alison, together like that, but...

Emily mumbles. - "It's too soon..." (She shakes her head, and, says) "Yes, we're not ready for that... I'm not ready..."

Maybe the brunette doesn't feel ready to make that jump, but, someone else seems more than ready for it...

(At a Park)

Wayne smiles. - "Very kind of you, Alison. To come with me, for a walk..."

Alison chuckles. - "It's my pleasure, Sir. To be honest, it's me who's grateful with the company..."

And, she wasn't lying. Since the Fields came to stay with her, Alison doesn't feel the need to do long hours of work. Going home at a decent hour, it has become a joy because...

Alison. - "I don't feel alone, anymore, and it's because of you, all of you... thank you..."

Her words deeply moved the blind man, and, Wayne opens his arms. Alison hesitates, but, she closes the gap, and, hug him...

Wayne squeezes her tight, and, says. - "Even if we return to our home. Always feel welcome to come by, and, get dinner with us. Okay?"

Alison whispers. - "And, what if you never leave...?"

Wayne. - "Huh?"

Alison breaks the hug, she softly grabs Wayne's right hand, and, put in the palm of his hand a ring. Wayne can't see the beautiful diamond that's in it, but, when he softly touches the ring, he drops his jaw open because...

Alison. - "I would love your blessing to ask Emily to marry me..."

Wayne. - "Do you want to marry her because you feel lonely?"

Alison. - "What? No!"

Wayne knew that the question was impolite, but, he needed to say it. Because after all, Emily is her most precious gift in this Earth. And, even if Alison seems to be a great girl, he needs to know that Alison's purposes are the right ones...

Wayne. - "Then, why do you want to marry my Emy?"

Why? Why anyone wants to get married during this bad economic? Why does anyone want to promise a forever when we don't even know if we will have a tomorrow? Why...? Wayne wants to know why, and, Alison wants to know too, because to be honest, she has no clue about what to reply, what is the correct answer for that question? Alison doesn't know, the only thing she knows is...

Alison. - "She's home..."

Wayne frowns. - "Huh?"

Alison takes a deep breath, and, says. - "I look at her in the eyes. And, I just know that I found my home..."

Wayne smiles

Alison keeps talking. - "She's kind, she is not scared to say when she 'loves' something. She's always smiling, she believes in the best of the people, she's optimistic. She's..." (Smile) "I could spend days, weeks, years... trying to enlist all the things that I love about your daughter. But, if I have to sum it up in one phrase, it would be that I love her in ways that I can't explain..." (chuckle) "In ways, I even don't understand..." (big smile) "I don't know if that is the correct answer to your question, but, it's the honest answer I can give you..."

Wayne smiles. - "And, that's enough..." (He puts the ring back on Alison's hand, and, says) "I've the rest of my life to hear that list of yours, of all the things you love about our Emy..."

Alison smiles. - "Does that mean that I've your blessing, Sir?"

Wayne smiles. - "That means that I can't wait to have another daughter..."

Alison blushes, Wayne hugs Alison by the shoulder, they start walking back to the house when he teases...

Wayne. - "And, I know that Pam & me, we would love to have some grand kinds too..."

Alison blushes, and, she just chuckles. Kids, family... wishes that she never had before, but now, she can't stop dreaming about it.

(Inside Alison's house)

Wayne & Alison, they get back, and, when they do it, the blonde gasps, surprised when she sees the Xmas decorations. She looks around, and it felt like a travel in time, she saw herself again, as a kid, running all over the house, helping her parents to decorate the house. Memories she forgot, and that now, she can remember... memories of happy Xmas came back to live, and, tears started to fall from those blue eyes...

Emily says with concern. - "OMG! You don't like it!"

Alison smiles. - "In the contrary... I love it..."

Emily softly caresses Alison's cheek, clearing the tears. Their eyes meet, and, the brunette wants to understand why Alison is crying then, but, she doesn't get the chance to ask because...

Alison says. - "And, I love you..." (big smile)

Emily gasps, surprised, she stays speechless. She wasn't waiting for an 'I love you'. The brunette loves to use the word 'love', but, is she ready to say it back? And, really mean it...?

Emily. - "I... I..."

Alison. - "I didn't say 'I love you' to hear it back. I said it to make sure you knew... you know that I love you..."

Emily blushes a lot, and, nods. - "Okay..."

Alison smiles. - "Okay..."

Pam. - "Ali! You've to taste my Xmas cookies!"

Alison walks towards the kitchen, and, says. - "I'm coming..."

Emily stares at the distance, she sees Alison eating cookies with her dear mother, she sees Alison helping Wayne to decorate the Xmas tree, she sees Alison... the real Alison. Not the boss, not the rich girl with cold heart... she sees the blonde for who she really is, and, says to herself...

Emily smiles. - "I love you, too..."

*** Emily's narrative (voice-over) ***

Falling in love can be an event, a proclamation that nothing in your life has ever meant as much to you as this person does. You love, for reasons you might never understand, but that's okay because knowing that a love like this can even exist inside you, it's enough... it's more than enough... I just hope I'm more than enough for her, too..

(At the company)

It was during Xmas, that Alison was thinking about giving the ring as a present for Emily. The idea was to put it under the tree, so, the brunette would see it when they would open the presents. Pam & Wayne were aboard with the idea, so, it was just up to Emily to love it, and, Alison was hoping that the brunette would love it...

Alison looks at the ring, and, says. - "Will she say 'yes'...?"

The blonde was deeply thinking when a knock on her door, it brings her back to reality...

Alison hides the ring in her pocket, and, says. - "Yes, come in..."

Aria. - "Hi... I kinda need your help..."

Alison. - "On what...?"

(During the Xmas party of the company)

Spencer smirks. - "Awww... look at you, as Santa..."

Alison puts on the big red coat, and, says. - "Shut up..."

Aria looks at Spencer, and, says. - "Don't make jokes, Spence. You didn't want to help, so, I had to enlist Alison's help..."

Spencer rolls her eyes. - "I'm not a festive person. Besides, Alison has blue eyes, and, porcelain skin. She's better for the roll than me..."

Aria hums, not happy with the answer, but, she has no time to argue. The guy who showed up to be Santa, he was too drunk to act like Santa. Aria could collect the costume, but, she needed someone to wear it...

Aria looks at Alison as Santa, and, smiles. - "You look good, in it!"

Alison hugs her fake belly, and, says. - "Ho-ho-ho..."

Aria smiles. - "And, you sound even better!"

Spencer groans, for a reason she can't understand, she hates to hear how Aria gives compliments to someone else that's not her. So, the brunette walks away, and, it's way to the party, she finds...

Spencer. - "Emily..."

Emily. - "Hi... ahmmm... have you seen Miss. DiLaurentis? She's not in her office..."

Spencer. - "Alison is helping Aria with something for the Xmas party..."

Emily. - "Oh, I see..." (she whispers to herself) "She didn't say anything to me about it..."

Spencer. - "It was something that came up at the last minute..."

Emily nods, she doesn't like to look possessive, but, she can't help it, when it's about Alison, she still feels insecure around her, like if any second the blonde would change her mind, and, look for someone else, someone even better? Emily's insecurities are something that she can't control, just like Spencer can't control her mouth, and, her curiosity...

Spencer. - "Emily. Can I ask you something...?"

Emily nods. - "Yeah, sure..."

Spencer. - "Are you ready to get married?"

Emily blushes. - 'What?!"

The brunette looks pale, like if she saw a ghost, and, her face is all Spencer needed to see to have an answer to her question...

Spencer looks at the facial expression of Emily, and, says. - "Uhmmm... I see, I was right, it's a bad idea..."

Emily. - "What? What are you talking about...?"

Spencer doesn't reply, she just looks over her shoulder, and, realizes that someone else heard their conversation, so, she turns towards this person behind her, and, says. - "See Santa... you should re-think about your choices of gifts for this year, I think..."

Emily has no idea of who's this Santa. Looking at those blue eyes, she feels like she knows the person behind that costume. Santa looks sad, and avoids eye-contact before Emily could say something else. The blonde saw Emily's expression when Spencer talked about marriage, and, it makes her sad to think that Emily would say 'no'...

Emily asks. - "Santa... are you okay...?"

As Santa, Alison walks away without saying a word. And, Spencer looks at her, leaving sad. Spencer doesn't like to act like the Grinch, but, it's in her nature to be a cold heart smart pants, till...

Noel puts mistletoe over Aria's head, and, says. - "Oh look Aria, you're under the mistletoe, a kiss... it's the tradition..."

Aria gasps, shocked by the proposition, and, she has no idea of what to do when Noel leans down to kiss her. Aria loves traditions, she loves Xmas; Spencer doesn't find any reason to follow traditions or act happy during Xmas season, but, when the young lawyer sees what is going to happen between Noel & Aria, her body moves by itself, and, before knowing it, she cups Aria's cheeks with her hands, and, kisses her under the mistletoe...

Aria smiles. - "Wow..."

Noel. - "Hey! It's my mistletoe!"

Spencer looks at Aria in the eyes, and, says. - "Yeah... but, she's my girl..."

Aria blushes. - "I am...? Your girl...?"

Spencer. - "I must admit. You're too cheerful, for me. But, maybe that's okay. Maybe that's what a Grinch like me, needs..."

Aria hugs Spencer, and, says. - "You're not a Grinch! You're perfect! Perfect for me..."

Love makes you see the best of people, see what others can't see. And, Spencer realizes that maybe, just because we don't feel ready to love, it doesn't mean we doesn't want it...

Spencer. - "Emily..."

Emily. - "Yes...?"

Spencer. - "Alison wants to marry you..."

Emily. - "What?!"

Spencer. - "She has a ring, and, everything. Maybe, it's wrong of me to tell you this. But, I feel like I already messed it up, so, I feel the need to fix it..."

And, she doesn't fix anything, but, she pushes the brunette to sit on Santa's legs...

Emily wraps her arms around Santa's neck, and, says. - "Hi, Santa..."

Alison blushes a lot, she tries to act like a normal Santa, but, having Emily on her lap, it makes her feel so many things, that, her mind is spinning right now...

Emily. - "Santa, your face is very red..."

Alison exhales deeply, she closes her eyes, trying to control herself, but, then...

Emily softly kisses Alison's cheek and, says. - "Don't look sad, okay?"

Alison. - "Huh?"

Emily. - "I don't know if I'm ready for marriage or not. I just know that think about it, it freaks me out..."

Alison sadly sighs...

Emily. - "But, I just hope that my reaction doesn't make you sad, Ali. Because, I really want to spend a happy Xmas with you..."

Alison. - "You know that it's me?"

Emily caresses the fake white beard, and, chuckles. - "I could recognize those blue eyes, everywhere..."

Alison smiles, and, she smiles even more when Emily puts a soft kiss on her lips...

Emily. - "Don't look sad, okay..."

Alison nods. - "Okay..."

*** Emily's narrative (voice-over) ***

We can't be 100% sure about how we will react under some circumstances. We can believe we're not ready for the change, we're not ready to promise something we doesn't know we can... but... we can be sure of something, that when the circumstance presents itself, our soul knows, our body knows, our heart knows what to do at that precise moment... without regrets...

(Xmas, at Alison's home)

Wayne. - "Let's open the gifts!"

Alison nods. - "Yeah, sure..."

Everyone opens their gifts. Wayne smiles with the pair of socks and, the big sweater he got. Pam smiles with the new gloves she received from Wayne & Emily, and, a hearing device from Alison...

Pam puts it on, and, smiles. - "I can hear so much better with this..."

Alison smiles, helping others, it has always made her feel good. But, seeing how Pam's face glow of joy because she can hear better, it brings her more joy, than what she even expected...

Wayne. - "Open our gifts, Ali..."

Alison smiles. - "Oh. You didn't need to bother. What is it?"

Pam. - "It's not something fancy, but, we hope you like it..."

What can you give to the girl who seems to have everything? Power, money... The Fields can't give anything like that, but, what they have to offer is something even better. And, that's...

Alison. - "Love..."

The blonde reads the tittle of the photo album she gets from the Fields, and then, she turns the pages of the photo album, she looks at all the pictures of her with them, and, Emily, and, smiles a lot...

Alison. - "I love this..."

Emily. - "You do...?"

Alison nods. She never thought that she has done so many memories already with them, but, looking at the pictures, every one of them is filled with joy and love. And, that's the best gift that Alison could ever ask for...

Pam. - "There are still some free pages, so, you can add more pictures..."

Alison nods. - "And, I'll... thank you..."

Wayne smiles. - "And now, it's your turn, Emy. Open your presents..."

Emily nods, she looks under the tree for her gifts, but, she just finds the gift that her parents prepared for her...

Alison. - "Ahmmm.. my present... I... I didn't have time to wrap it... sorry..." (She walks to her room, and, says) "Wait a minute, I'll be back in a second..."

Emily. - "Yeah, sure..."

The blonde comes back, something hiding in her back, and, the brunette stretches her hands with the eyes closed, she puts the palm of her hands up; Alison puts over Emily's hands a gift. And, all day long, Emily was preparing herself to see a little box, or a diamond ring immediately. She was preparing herself for it, but, she wasn't prepared for..

Emily opens her eyes, and, frowns. - "A cheque?!"

Alison rubs her cheek, and, says. - "Uhmmm... yeah... so, you can buy whatever you want..."

There's no ring... there's no reason to freak out... but...

Emily returns the cheque to Alison, and, says. - "NO!"

Alison frowns. - "No? What do you mean by 'no'?"

Wayne whispers. - "What is happening?"

Pam. - "Ssshh..." (She increases the audio volume of her new device, and, says) "Stay quiet, and, let me listen..." (teasing smile) "this is even better than my soap opera..."

And, between the Xmas tree & the Fields, Alison looks at Emily, confused, because she has no idea of what is happening inside Emily's mind till...

Emily demands. - "I want my ring..."

Alison. - "What?!"

Emily. - "I know there's a ring... so, I want it!"

Alison. - "But, you said that the idea of marriage, it freaks you out..."

The brunette starts to understand why Alison didn't continue with her plans to propose, but, even if she still doesn't feel ready, even if she doesn't feel enough for Alison, she...

Emily pouts. - "I know what I said, but, I want my ring..." (She crosses her arms around herself, and, says) "And, I'm not moving from here, till you give it to me..."

It's very childish what she's doing, but, Alison smiles, she finds it cute, really cute...

Alison turns around, and, says. - "Okay..." (She goes to her room, and, when she comes back to the living room, she has the diamond ring on her hands) "Here... the ring..."

Emily smiles, looking at it, it doesn't scare her anymore...

Alison holds Emily's hand, and, says. - "If you just let me love you to Death. You would make me the happiest person in this world..."

Emily grabs the ring from Alison's hands, and, puts it in, when she says with a big smile. - "Then, it's settled. I'll make you the happiest person in this world..."

They smile at each other, and, the memory of this Xmas will be something that they will always cherish till Death... or, even beyond that...

*** Alison's narrative (voice-over) ***

Love you to Death, it's a big lie. Because love has no limits, even after Death, I'll keep loving her, I'll always love her, just as much as the family we create...

(Xmas' Eve, a few years later)

Wayne opens the door, and, says. - "Ho-ho-ho, Merry Xmas!"

The old man opens his arms, and, 3 little kids jump to hug him, saying 'grand pa'.

Pam gets out of the kitchen, and, says. - "Oh, you're back... did you find it?"

Emily appears with a furry dog, covered in mud and, says. - "Yes, we found him..." (She looks at the dog with a disapproval look, and, says) "Messing around with the roses of the neighbors... again..."

The dog looks down, feeling shame by the way that Emily is looking at him...

The kids smile. - "Pepe!"

The kids were going to hug the dog too, but...

Alison gets out of the kitchen, and, says. - "Oh, no, no, no... no one is touching Pepe till he's clean..."

The kids sadly pout. - "Oh..."

Emily grabs the dog, and, says. - "C'mon buddy, let's clean you up..."

And, while Emily is dealing with their furry dog, the kids stay in the living room, playing with Wayne while Alison & Pam do the last preparations for Xmas dinner...

Alison opens the oven, and, says. - "It still needs a little more time..."

The blonde was checking on the turkey when two strong arms get wrapped around her waist...

Alison looks over her shoulder, and, smiles. - "Hi..."

Emily smiles. - "Hi..."

The blonde closes the oven, she turns around, and, happily kisses her wife on the lips...

Alison smiles. - "Merry Xmas..."

Emily smiles. - "Every day with you, it feels like Xmas..."

Alison chuckles, she blushes, and, they were leaning for another kiss when...

The kids say. - "Mommies! What do you gonna ask Santa to give you this year?"

They look at each other, and, say. - "The same that every year..."

Alison. - "That we can keep loving each other.."

Emily. - "Even after Death..."

They kiss, and, the kids jump over them, wanting too, a little affection. the couple puts lots and lots of kisses over their little faces...

Emily looks at her kids, and, says. - "And, what did you ask Santa to bring you this year...?"

The kids say at the unison. - "Another sibling!"

Alison & Emison frowns. - "What?!"

One of the kids, says. - "If we're more, we can set a football team!"

Alison chuckles. - "Oh, sweetie, you need more than 4 kids to make your own team..."

The kids look at each other, they rush towards the Xmas tree, ready to change their letters to Santa...

One of the kids, says. - "I'm asking for 5!"

The other kid reply. - "No, 10!"

The only girl in the group, says. - "Let's ask for twins!"

Emily nervously chuckles. - "Oh boy... that's a lot of kids..."

Alison bites Emily's ear, and, teases. - "I'm up for it, if you're too..."

Emily gulps hard, she's taken back by the teasing expression of the blonde. But, truth be told, nothing would make her happier than a big family with the one she promised to love till Death...
