The next morning, Sonja woke up and felt relieved. It had all been a dream. She hadn't confessed her secret to LaSalle and he didn't know about Caden. There would be a good chance she could take her son and quietly slip out of town before she had to see LaSalle again. As much as she wanted him to know about their son, Sonja couldn't take the chance he would reject her or Caden. Although, LaSalle didn't seem like the kind of man who would abandon his child. When he thought Tucker had been his son, he was right there to step up and do the right thing. This was different though as Sonja loved LaSalle and she didn't want to get her heart broken again. That night at his place after Pride's bar, she had hoped he would ask her to stay. She wanted him to want her as much as she wanted him.

A heavy weight fell upon her arm and all she could think was she had done something stupid last night in her LaSalle mania. She almost didn't dare to look at the body lying next to her under the covers. But she finally opened her eyes and found herself face to face with LaSalle! He had come over last night! It hadn't been a dream!

"Oh my God," Sonja whispered as she ducked under the blankets.

"Morning City Mouse," Chris said, his southern drawl coming out husky in the morning. The last morning she had woken up in his arms, in his bed, she had slipped out before he woke and left for the airport. Now there was no hiding from him.

"Morning."

"You plannin' on coming out of there or do I have to come in there after ya?" he asked.

"Oh I'm just gonna hide until the embarrassment goes away."

"Why are you embarrassed?"

"I spilled my soul to you last night and you're still here. Most guys would've headed for the hills by now."

"Well, their loss is my gain. I'm never letting you go again, Percy. I told you I love you and I meant it."

"I love you too LaSalle."

"Good. Now come here," Chris said, twinkle in his eye. He slid over next to Sonja, his lips eagerly finding hers. His tongue slipped across her lip, asking for entrance and she happily obliged him. His hands began to roam her body, catching her thigh and hiking it up over his waist. As much as he would love to take time and pleasure every single fiber of her being, he'd have to work quickly before Caden woke them up.

"Oh God LaSalle," Sonja purred in his ear, offering her neck to him. He gladly took to the skin she offered up. Chris went to work on Sonja as fast as he could but it was no use. Just as he had his thumbs hooking into her panties, Caden cried out.

"Boy he really has some timing doesn't he?" Chris asked, half frustrated again that his son had blocked his opportunity.

"Just like his daddy," Sonja said, laughing at the look on Chris's face. She slid out of the bed and put a robe on. "I'll feed him, why don't you go take a cold shower and then we can take Caden into the office?"

"Sounds good to me. Continue this later?" Chris asked, climbing off the bed and pecking her lips.

"If you think you can be fast enough."

"Oh I can be as fast or as slow as you want," Chris said, winking and tapping her behind before heading into the bathroom. Sonja just shook her head as she headed into the kitchenette to prepare Caden's bottle. Sonja fed her son at the dinette and when she heard Chris emerge from the bathroom, she handed him over.

"My turn to shower now. Why don't you change his diaper and get him dressed? The office is close by, we can just walk. His diaper bag should be packed but you might want to put some extra diapers and bottles in it," Sonja said as she disappeared into the bathroom. Chris took the baby over to the table to attempt to change his diaper. Unfortunately, this was not an area Chris had a lot of experience in so Sonja was secretly watching to make sure he didn't end up upside down.

"How in the hell does she do this?" Chris murmured to himself as he held up a diaper. He knew that those little tab things did something but what were they supposed to hook too? Did they hook to his clothes or did they go somewhere else? Man, this father stuff was harder than it looked. Maybe King could give him some pointers.

Unfortunately for Chris he was taking a little too long to get the diaper on and suddenly he felt his shirt getting wet. He looked down and saw Caden was peeing on him.

"Damn it!" Chris hollered as he shoved the diaper between Caden and himself to shelter himself from the pee. Sonja was laughing too hard now and Chris turned in her direction.

"Something funny?" he asked.

"Just watching you try to change a diaper," Sonja said, giggling and coming to the rescue. Chris watched her as she expertly put the diaper on and smiled at Caden.

"Did you pee on daddy?" she asked her son and he smiled.

"Well you coulda told me how to work one of those," Chris said, taking his shirt off. "What am I supposed to wear now?"

"You know you have your go bag in the truck. You've got spare shirts in there. Go get it and I'll lay him down long enough to shower," Sonja said, smacking Chris on the behind.

"Yes ma'am."

Chris took off to the parking lot as Sonja hopped in the shower.

An hour later, Chris was pushing the stroller down the sidewalk, Sonja by his side. She was holding the diaper bag and carrying her soy latte in her hand. They looked like the perfect little family.

"I've missed New Orleans," Sonja said.

"We've missed you," Chris replied.

"I'm happy to be back."

"We're happy to have you back."

"What do you think Pride is gonna say about Caden?" Sonja asked, suddenly very nervous as Chris turned onto the street the office was located on.

"I don't know but I'll be right by your side. Nothing is tearing us apart again. I love you City Mouse."

"I love you Country Mouse."

Chris and Sonja walked in together and Gregorio was the first person to see them.

"Percy, I can't believe you're back in New Orleans," she said, getting up to hug her.

"I'm happy to be back Gregorio."

"Who's this?" Gregorio asked, peering down at Caden.

"My son," Sonja said.

"He's beautiful."

"Thanks. Pride around?"

"What do you think?" Gregorio asked as Pride came down the stairs.

"Sonja," he said.

"Hey Pride," Sonja said as she embraced him, Chris just staying silent.

"Who's this?" Pride asked.

"This is my son," Sonja said.

"Well congratulations, Sonja. I'm happy for you. Motherhood looks good on you. What's his name?" Pride asked.

"Caden LaSalle," Chris answered and Gregorio almost fell out of her chair.

"Did you say LaSalle?" she asked.

"Yes, he's Percy and mine's son," Chris said, looking at Pride. Pride just smiled as he walked over to them.

"Congratulations Christopher."
