Sonja was downstairs with Gregorio while Chris went upstairs with Pride. He sat down and Pride put a glass in front of him. He poured some liquor from the cabinet and then joined him at the table.

"Big news down there," Pride said.

"Yeah. I just want to let you know that this will not interfere with my job, King. I'm still 100% devoted to the team."

"I know you will be Christopher, but you have to admit things are different. You have a child now. Your life will never be the same."

"I know that but I want to do right by Percy. I love her and I can't say that I'm sorry Caden was born."

"Did you plan this?"

"No, I thought we were careful."

"It's not my business to ask about your private life."

"I know that but still, I have to be responsible for my actions. I'm just glad that our last case brought Percy home."

"I bet. Had you had much contact when she was away?"

"None. I was kinda scared to call her."

"Why?" Pride asked.

"I never wanted her to go. I just thought it would be selfish of me if I asked her to stay and give up her job for me."

"You know if you had asked, she would've stayed."

"Yeah, I know. But I know that she needed to stretch her wings. She needed to feel free again and I couldn't ask her to give that up."

"A baby kinda gives up those things, Christopher."

"Yeah."

"Well, I'm glad to see you happy for once. It's been a long time. You deserve it."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. Now if I may ask, has Sonja made any plans for the future?"

"She said she's staying in New Orleans, wanted to find a place for her and Caden."

"Has she found anything?"

"I told her they can move in with me."

"Are you ready for that?"

"Absolutely. I love her and I plan to ask her to marry me."

"Christopher, that's a big step."

"I know."

"What do you think she's gonna say?"

"I hope she'll say yes," Chris said as Pride's phone pinged. He pulled it out and looked at it.

"We just caught a case. Dead Navy sailor in the French Quarter. We gotta roll."

Pride and Chris came downstairs as Gregorio was getting up.

"We gotta roll," Pride said.

"Sorry, maybe we can meet later? Are you going back to the hotel?" Chris asked Sonja.

"I guess. I'm gonna have to get packed soon. I'm only there for 2 more nights."

"Here," Chris said, handing her a key. "Bring everything over to the house. You can take my truck too, it's outside. I'll catch a ride home with King."

"Are you sure about us moving in with you?"

"Absolutely. I love you," Chris said, kissing Sonja and not caring who was watching.

"Okay," Sonja said, completely breathless. Chris bent over to Caden.

"Daddy has to go to work now buddy, but I'll see you and mama at home. Love you buddy," he said giving his son a quick kiss. He gave Sonja another quick kiss and then headed out the door.

"Guess it's me and you today, Country Mouse," Sonja said to Caden as Patton rolled into the room.

"Percy what are you doing here? I figured you'd be on a plane back to New York by now."

"Nope. I'm done with the FBI. I'm back in New Orleans for good."

"That's great. Who's this?"

"My son Caden."

"Congratulations. I didn't know you were seeing anyone."

"He was a surprise actually. LaSalle is his father."

"LaSalle?"

"Yeah."

"I didn't know you and LaSalle were seeing each other."

"Yeah well, its all kinda recent," Sonja said. Patton could tell she didn't want to talk about it anymore.

"Okay, any idea where everyone is?"

"Yeah, they got a call. Dead Navy sailor."

"Guess I better get ready for them then. It was good seeing you Percy."

"You too Patton."

Patton rolled away and Sonja looked at Caden. It was gonna take some time getting used to not being in the field with Chris and Gregorio. Being an agent was all she really knew how to do. What was she supposed to do now?

Sonja sighed as she started pushing the stroller back towards the hotel.

At the scene of the crime, Chris was taking photos as Gregorio and Pride surveyed the scene. Miss Loretta was there, examining the body of Petty Office 1st class Declan Watkins.

"What you got for us Doc?" Pride asked.

"It appears Mr. Watkins was shot three times, one bullet through the aorta valve. Death would've been instantaneous."

"At least he didn't suffer," Gregorio said.

"Any idea what he was doing here?" Pride asked.

"From what his commanding officer said, Petty Officer Watkins was in charge of weapons shipments and explosives. He had to catalog every piece that came in and out of the base. According to the commanding officer, Watkins had come to him a few weeks ago saying that his numbers weren't adding up. Commanding officer told him to double check every piece that was in the base," Gregorio said.

"Anything missing?" Pride asked.

"Judging by his reports, several M16s are missing. About 8 in total."

"So someone was stealing weapons and Petty Officer Watkins must've found out who it was and they killed him for it," Chris said.

"Sounds about right. Who was Watkins in charge of?" Pride asked.

"Watkins had 4 men he supervised in the weapons cache. Petty Officers 2nd class Julian Wells and Michael Kingman, Petty Officer 3rd class Nathan Shell and Seabee Mitchum Wallace," Gregorio said.

"I guess we start interviewing them. Gregorio, you take Seabee Wallace, Chris you take Petty Officer Shell and I'll talk to Petty Officers Wells and Kingman."

Everyone split up and as Chris walked towards the barracks, he thought how much easier this would be if they had a fourth. Sonja always rounded out the team and nobody quite did an interrogation like she did. Maybe there was a way to get her back on the team.
