"Aunt Cath, Uncle Steve is asking the fish feed," Kevin said to Catherine as he entered the house.

"Are you guys going to feed the fish yet honey?" She asked.

"Yes, Uncle Junior wants to see me feed the fish," Kevin replied.

"Okay." Catherine went to the kitchen and filled a small bowl with the fish feed and gave it to Kevin. "Go slowly so you don't fall in." Catherine took him to the porch and watched until he approached the lake.

"Steve, he's close!" Catherine shouted to Steve.

"Okay, Cath. I've got an eye on him," Steve replied and walked over to Kevin to pick him up.

Kevin began to throw the feed into the lake and the fish soon approached. "Wow Kevin! What a lot of fish!" Junior exclaimed and Kevin smiled.

Catherine came into the house again after Steve took Kevin to stay close to him. "Feeding the fish is just their thing, you know?" Catherine said to Tani.

"I understand. They are creating strong bonds, and that's very good. I can see that Steve really likes Kevin," Tani replied.

"I was so scared, Tani. When Steve came here when Kevin was in the hospital I didn't believe he would stay. I thought he would miss his work and his friends. It's so nice to have him around but, considering our history, I'm even afraid."

"Afraid?" Tani questioned her.

"Yes, fear that everything will go wrong and we will break up again. You know that feeling that everything is so right it feels like a dream?"

Tani smiled. "It's not a dream, rest assured. McGarrett loves you."

"Thank you," Catherine smiled at her.

Two days later...

Steve took Catherine, Kevin, Tani and Junior out to dinner. Tani swaddled the baby well and Catherine put a very warm coat on Kevin. Kevin was sitting between Catherine and Steve and Kai was in the comfort baby next to Tani and Junior.

Kevin wanted French fries and was rocking his little body in the rhythm of the music. "Looks like someone is happy," Tani said to Catherine. "Yes, but let's pretend we're not watching or he'll get shy and stop," Catherine replied.

Alice saw them and approached. "Hi Catherine, hi Catherine's friends."

"Hi Sheriff Alice. Can we help you with something?" Steve asked.

"I've come to invite Catherine to work with me again," Alice gestured in Catherine's direction. "So Catherine, do you accept?"

"No, Alice. I don't accept," Catherine replied.

"I know you were upset that I fired you, I understand. But I'm willing to give you one more chance," Alice said to Catherine.

"But I'm not willing to give you another chance, Alice. Besides, I have a family to take care of now.

Alice was embarrassed by Catherine's refusal. "Okay. If you change your mind, you know where to find me."

"I won't change my mind."

Alice turned away and joined her husband and children at another table.

"Congratulations Cath. You were firm and kept your dignity. I'm proud of you," Steve held her hand and kissed her softly.

"Thank you sailor," Catherine replied.

"I think we missed something," Junior didn't understand Catherine and Alice's dialogue.

"Don't be indiscreet," Tani said to Junior.

"It's all right, Tani. There's nothing to hide. Alice is the sheriff of the police station where I worked and she fired me because I stayed in the hospital with Kevin. She has two small children but she had no empathy for me and Kevin. She almost never worked the hours she was supposed to and always took advantage of my responsibility at work. She would go home because she said she had a family to take care of and I would do my job and hers. By that attitude I understood that she meant that she had a family and I didn't."

"But now you have a family," Steve held her hand.

"Yes I do, and I'm very grateful for it," Catherine replied.

"Aunt Cath, would you like a French fry?" Kevin offered her a potato and Catherine ate it. "Thanks honey."

They ate dinner, talked, enjoyed the music and some time later returned home.

Steve and Junior were talking on the porch and Catherine put Kevin to bed. Tani approached and smiled. "Kevin slept so fast. I put Kai in his crib and he fell asleep right away too."

"I'm so afraid that one day he'll think I drove him away from his mother and be angry with me, Tani."

"Kevin loves you, Catherine. And do you know what I think he will think?"

"No. What?" Catherine asked.

"I was lucky to have Catherine and Steve here for me when I needed them most," Tani replied.

"I hope so, Tani."

"I'm sure you do."

Three days later...

Steve, Catherine and Kevin drove Tani, Junior and Kai to the airport.

"Uncle Steve, it's a plane!" Kevin was excited as he saw a plane taking off.

"Yes buddy. And you're going to travel in a plane just like that someday."

"Today Uncle Steve?"

"Not today honey," Catherine answered Kevin's question.

Steve and Catherine hugged Junior and Tani and kissed Kai's forehead. "We'll miss you guys," Steve said and Catherine agreed with him.

"We'll miss you too," Junior replied.

"Thank you for your hospitality. We had a wonderful time with you," Tani said.

"I want to kiss Kai too," Kevin said to Catherine and she took him on her lap. "Kiss his forehead gently honey."

"Bye Kai," Kevin said after kissing the baby's forehead.

Twenty minutes later they boarded and Steve took Catherine and Kevin home.

After Kevin slept in the bedroom, Catherine sat down on the couch next to Steve. He hugged her tightly. "I loved Tani and Junior's visit, but I was already missing we dating a little bit."

"Really?" Catherine asked looking into his eyes seductively.

"Come here," Steve said as he pulled her to him in a passionate kiss.
