Authors Notes- And here I am once again back with yet another update to My Life As I Knew It. As you can gather by now I don't own Dreadwing or Transformers that belongs to Hasbro. Marley however belongs to me. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter Three, I hope you enjoy.

Chapter Three: What I've Become.

Pain. It seemed to be the only thing she knew. Her whole existence was never-ending pain. Her throat was raw as screams continued to tear from her mouth. Marley thrashed against her restraints so hard she was certain her wrists had snapped because of if.

Please, she pleaded, tears spilling freely down her cheeks as her very existence was being ripped away from her. Then...Nothing...

No more...

Silas was hardly one to get his hopes up. Even when there were so many things that could go wrong. And this wasn't the first time Project Nightbird had ended in failure. But he had high hopes for Marley, and from what he could see? Things were going according to plan...

Darkness. Nothingness. That was all she knew. Groaning she blinked open her eyes, and whimpered. She had hoped that this whole thing had been a messed up, stress induced nightmare. And yet, it wasn't as she lay upon this cold table, kept captive by Silas and his goons. Groaning again, Marley moved to rub her her forehead, but stopped when she got a good look at her hand. Instead of a hand of flesh and bone she was staring up at a hand of cold metal and wires. Colored a silver color. Blinking a few more times she flexed her fingers, another whimper as did so before tearing her gaze away from her hand to look to Silas.

Watching as Silas, the cold hearted bastard that had turned her into some of mechanical monster, walked towards her. Biting down on her bottom lip Marley looked around. What had they done to her? What sort of monstrosity had she become?

"I see that you're finally awake." Silas voice sounded from behind her. Making Marley look in his direction, a look of confusion and disbelief etched on her face plate, as she looked down at her hands once more.

"You did it." She whispered, lubricant forming in the corners of her optics. "Y-you're a monster!" She screamed, anger taking over as she lunged at Silas.

She wanted to rip him limb from limb, make him scream and beg, to make him suffer. And she would have succeeded. If not for the jolt of electricity suddenly coursing through her body. Making her cry out in pain once more, and collapse to the ground a few feet from him.

Another cold smile crept to Silas' lips, as he held out a small device out to her. It was black, rectangular with a single red button on it. Silas said nothing as he pressed it once more. Another jolt of electricity coursed through Marley's body, making her cry out and arch her back.

"Stop, stop, stop!" She pleaded, until he finally stopped, allowing her tor collapse to the ground in a boneless heap, chest plate heaving as she listened as Silas moved closer to her.

"A precaution." He told her without prompting. "In case our new test subject decides to get violent. We have to keep you in line somehow." Silas said, moving until he and Marley were face to face.

Marley's right hand moved slightly until Silas held up his hand once more, thumb hovering over the bright red button. Sighing Marley let her hand drop back to the ground once more.

Hands clasped behind his back Silas continued to speak. And all Marley wanted was for him to shut the hell up. As he went on and on. Oh, she wanted to grab the little bastard and squeeze until he stopped screaming and blood oozed from between her fingers. Her fingers then went to the thick, black, metal collar on her neck. Her thoughts going back to the pain when she had first tried to attack him.

Sitting back on her heels, she watched as Silas turned to address his men, congratulating them on a job well done. Meanwhile another question formed in her mind. What was going to happen to her now? She wondered, looking down at her hands once more. Hands that had once been flesh and bone mere hours ago. Getting to her feet she moved around the room, her optics scanning the area. Something she wasn't allowed to do when she had been strapped to the table. Her optics widening when she caught sight of a mirror off to one side. Slowly moving towards it she gripped it, and got a good look at herself. Green optics stared back at her. Her body was a dark purple with bits of grey here and there. And from her back a pair of wings protruded from her back.

"Do you like what you see?" Silas asked.

Biting down on her bottom lip, she looked down at Silas. The urge to crush the little insect was overwhelming, but she stopped herself. Silas then beckoned her over to where a large console sat. He typed a few things into the console and several pictures popped up. With a few scans of odd robotic beings scattered here and there.

Marley blinked was this where Silas had gotten the inspiration for what he had done to her? Not saying a word Marley scanned the pictures, seeing a picture of a large red and blue robot. A yellow and black one , as well as a bulky navy blue one. Saying nothing she looked to Silas once more, the man smiling.

"You can thank the Autobots and the Decepticons. If not for them I would not have found the inspiration to create you, Nightbird."

"My name is Marley." She growled fists clenched at her sides as she straightened.

"That was your name." Silas told her, growling. "But now you are Nightbird. A weapon to be used by MECH that is what you are, and that is what you always will be." Turning on his heel Silas walked away from her. This conversation was obviously over.

Marley watched as one of his men stepped out in front of her. "Your training will begin a dawn tomorrow." The man said, typing something into the console they were at. The pictures and scans disappearing before he turned to face her. "I suggest you try and get some rest."

Saying nothing Marley turned away from him, her optics narrowed as she looked around the hanger once more. Her optics settling on a set of double doors that would no doubt lead to her eventual escape. Her fingers brushed against the collar once more. She just needed to get rid of this. And bide her time, she would get out of here one way or another...
