As the day went on, Asterios found that a lot of the other students were fond of looking at him. As he sat, and struggled to be honest, in class his senses told him of his classmates staring at him. And every time he turned to meet their gazes, they would quickly look away.

Weird…

Even the teacher seemed to be doing the same. Whenever her eyes would search the class for an answer for a question, whenever she would catch his gaze she was quick to avert her eyes and find someone else.

At least it let him sit down quietly as he tried to understand the lessons.

As he did, he felt his stomach grumble.

"hungry" he muttered.

A snack was promptly dropped onto his table. Looking up he saw Koneko dropping one of her treats on his table. He nodded his head "thank you" and opened the packaging.

"Umm Minos-san," he took a few bites before the teacher called out to him. He lifted his eyes, and once more they locked onto hers. She averted her eyes and let out a nervous laugh "I-It's nothing, enjoy your snack."

"i will," he nodded to her kind words and ate the gift.

[Scene]

"Toujou-Chan!"

Koneko, who had finished putting on her gym uniform, turned to see her classmates approaching her.

"Yeah?" She questioned as she grabbed a stick from her locker.

As they walked around the changing room, they all looked between each other "Well we were just wondering."

Koneko shoved the stick through a hole in the wall, almost absentmindedly, "About what?" She passed the stick to one of them.

They accepted it without question, moving onto another section of the wall "Well, you know Minos-san right?"

She nodded her head as they stabbed the stick through another hole in the wall. "Yeah, me and him are pretty close."

The stick passed through a couple more hands "Well, we're just wondering," They all looked rather embarrassed "If you could tell us anything about him."

Another hole was jabbed through with the stick.

"Why?" She asked.

"W-Well," Koneko didn't like how many of them blushed "He's just so mysterious you know?" One of them commented "He shows up out of nowhere, and he says that he's living with you and is part of your club."

"Why don't you ask him yourself?" Despite giving that suggestion, Koneko didn't like that she had said those words "I'm sure he'd answer."

They stabbed through another hole in the wall, and looked between each other for a while.

"Well," One of them rubbed the back of her neck "It's just…"

"He's kinda scary you know?"

Koneko snatched the stick from the one currently holding it, a subtle glare on her face. She rammed it full force through another hole.

This time, causing whoever was on the other side of the wall to scream in agony. Before two other voices shouted "RETREAT!"

They heard the scrambling. For a moment everyone in the room forgot about what they were talking about to glare at the wall, some of them cursing under their breath at the trio of students who had just been peeking on them.

"Asterios is nice," Koneko told her classmates, passing the stick towards one of them "He's kind and gentle. He won't get angry if you talk to him."

"But he's so intense!"

She shook her head "There's nothing to be afraid of."

[Scene]

As the last one fell, exhausted from his attempt to keep up with the leader of the pack, Asterios found himself running alone. The short sleeves of his gym uniform showing his arms, revealing its muscular form, and the many scars that ran over it.

Despite the passed out forms of his male classmates, Asterios was not aware that he should stop running and so he kept running.

Koneko watched at the side lines, sighing to herself as Asterios proceeded to destroy the current school record for long distance running.

[Scene]

"limit myself?"

It was lunch time, and Asterios and Koneko found themselves sitting together in their class as they ate.

Koneko has her own boxed lunch, while Asterios… had forgotten to bring any food as he watched Koneko eat.

"You're not exactly fitting in," she stated "We aren't supposed to tell the rest of the world of 'Us' remember?"

She heard whispers with her enhanced hearing, but she ignored them.

Asterios tilted his head "but i tell everyone that i am human when i meet them. doesn't that mean that i am fitting in?"

"No." She stated.

"oh," he looked down "i thought i was doing a good job." He raised his head "okay i'll try harder to fit in."

Koneko paused and sighed "Don't try too hard. As long as you don't do something crazy, you'll stay unnoticed."

He looked at her determined "i'll keep working on it, that way we can still go to school together."

Koneko smiled "Do your best."

He nodded, and she went back to eating.

After a few moments passed, Koneko looked up from her bento box to see Asterios staring at her eating. She swallowed the bite in her mouth and asked "Not eating Asterios?"

He shook his head "i didn't bring food."

"Are you not hungry?" She asked, confused since she recalled the stomach growling this morning.

"i am, but since i forgot to bring food i'll just wait until tonight." He stated.

She raised an eyebrow, her chopsticks grabbed a piece of chicken in her box and brought it up to a mouth "If you're hungry Asterios," she popped it into her mouth and chewed "You can just buy food. You have money now, President gave it you didn't she?"

It took Asterios a couple of seconds, 10 seconds if she counted right, and suddenly his eyes lit up. "i do have money, i can get food."

She nodded her head "Yes you can, do you need directions?"

Seemingly shaking in excitement, Asterios stood up "no, i memorised the layout of the school with the map president gave me. i'll go and… buy food." He was like a child, excited at the prospect of getting to buy his own snacks for the first time in his life. As he left, he paused and turned to her "do you want anything koneko?"

"Something sweet," she replied.

He nodded and left the room.

Maybe she should've told him that technically students weren't allowed to leave the classroom during lunch. But with how the teacher was too terrified to do anything, she figured she'd let it slide.

[Scene]

Asterios moved through the hallways of Kuoh Academy, the path towards school store that sold food was clear in his head. Memorising paths almost second nature to him.

More than a few teachers and students saw him and stepped aside. He didn't pay them any mind, as a singular thought appeared in his head.

He could get food.

Without hurting anyone.

He moved faster to his destination, following the set path. And finally he reached it. The school store, he saw the food on display, he saw the person he should pay.

He also saw that there was three other students there. A bald one, one with glasses, and another with brown hair.

He paid them no mind as he stopped in front of the store.

The owner reeling back at his sudden appearance. He tilted his head up and asked "C-can I help you?"

"food," he unintentionally growled. Hunger and excitement mixing together.

In a flash, what looked like two pieces of bread with meat in between them, wrapped in a clear plastic was placed in front of them. The man had his hand on the product as their eyes met.

There was fear, fear in his eyes. He was shaking, but he kept his grip on the bread. He held out a hand and spoke "Th-Three hundred yen."

The fear in his eyes faded away when, what he assumed to be, the delinquent fumbled with the money in his pocket. There was panic in his eyes, not from shame, but from embarrassment. He watched as he finally managed to get the proper amount of funds.

He paused as he was about to pay, almost unsure. But he opened his palm and dropped the money onto the counter.

The store clerk would've complained, if he wasn't afraid of the seven foot giant caving his head in, and just swiped the money and released his grip on the bread.

Slowly, carefully, he picked it up. Unwrapping the plastic, he brought it to his mouth and took a bite.

"tasty…"

It was divine, the taste in his mouth. It was food, delicious food that tickled his taste buds and made him hum.

It was food he had earned without having to hurt anyone.

Before he knew it, Asterios had finished the meal. He looked at his empty hands, the taste in his mouth was still present. His eyes flicked towards the store owner.

Asterios walked away from the store with an armful of those bread and meat, as well as a box of candy for Koneko. A smile on his face.

"You, big guy!" A voice called out to him from behind "We've got somet…thing t-to say…"

Asterios turned around, his smile still on his face, and saw those three students he had passed by.

All three of them looking ready to fight, but the looks on their faces told him that they were scared.

Oh that was right, he was still smiling.

"yes?" He asked, a neutral look on his face.

The one with brown hair was shoved forward towards him by the other two, and simultaneously they shouted "Hyoudou wants to speak with you!"

"Bastards!" He heard 'Hyoudou' cursed. He looked up at him, and once more fear was on his face. A moment later, he gulped down the saliva in his mouth and pointed a finger at him "JUST WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!"

"asterios minos, i am from greece," he answered the question. He paused before he added in "i am human. it's nice to meet you."

Shocked by the polite reply, Hyoudou could only return it with his own "Uh… Issei Hyoudou, um likewise."

[Scene]

Koneko's classmates dispersed from her table when they noticed Asterios entered class again. He was carrying an armful of store bought sandwiches, and a Pocky box ontop.

"i bought food," he said happily, "and candy for you."

"Good," she watched him sit down in front of her and just released the sandwiches all over their table. He reached out for one and just went to town on it.

She looked down at the food slightly confused, she knew that they weren't that good, but she shrugged her shoulders. Instead she picked up the Pocky box and gorged on the contents.

"oh right," Asterios paused on his fourth sandwich to say "issei, matsuda, and motoham told me to say hello to you Koneko."

Koneko had to stop herself from hissing.
