"I think it's about time you two got Familiars."
The sudden news drew the surprised gazes of both Issei and Asia. Both of them looking surprised at the information that their president was giving them.
Rias smiled at the looks on their faces "Since the past few weeks, both of you have shown great work ethics in regards to your clients that both of you deserve to get Familiars."
Issei blinked at the information "Familiars?"
"Indeed," She leaned forward in her chair "Although some get Familiars the moment they join a Peerage, I figured it was important to your personal training that you hand out fliers and explore the town first."
"Oh," Asia blinked "Is that the reason for us handing out those fliers?"
"Correct, handing out those fliers and getting information around town is technically the job of a Familiar." Rias smiled "And since I figured that it's time you two graduated from handing out fliers, to being full time Devils with clients, you'd need Familiars."
"I still think he should keep handing out fliers," Koneko chimed in from her spot on Asterios' lap "Asia can get a Familiar though."
"Shut it you squirt." Issei turned to her with annoyed glare, who only replied by poking her tongue out of her mouth.
"Um…" Asia spoke up "What's a Familiar?"
"It's basically a magic animal," Yuuto explained "We Devils use them, as president says, to hand out fliers and get information that we might not get on our own."
"Ohhhh." She looked around "Do you all have Familiars?"
Rias stood up and held out a hand, with a puff of smoke a small Bat like creature suddenly appeared in her hands. The red head smiled and gave the creature a pat on the head "This little fellow here is my Familiar," Rias looked up from her Familiar and smiled at Issei "I think you've seen her already Issei."
The confused look on his face, changed to recognition when the bat like creature transformed into a young lady.
The transformed Familiar smiled at Issei, before her eyes turned to Asterios.
The disguised Minotaur met her gaze, and stoically raised a hand to wave at her, one that she returned.
Asterios' eyes glanced down as he heard a grumble from Koneko, her eyes staring up at him.
Rias' Familiar turned back to its bat form, before vanishing in a similar puff of smoke.
Akeno giggled at the look on the two faces of Issei and Asia, "Well if you're impressed with that this is one of mine." she pointed her finger at the ground and a magic circle appeared. A moment later, a small creature the size of the palm of her hand appeared.
"An imp!" Asia spoke out in surprise.
The creature looked around and then scrambled backwards when Asterios' gaze fell onto the creature. Like a child it quickly hid behind the legs of its Master.
"aww…" Asterios gaze softened as Akeno giggled at the sight.
Yuuto was next, the blonde opened his mouth "And this I-"
"I don't really want to see yours," Issei cut him short before he could finish.
"How mean" Yuuto laughed at the dismissal.
"i would like to see it," Asterios spoke, something that Asia agreed with a silent nod.
With the sound of flapping wings, a bird seemingly appeared out of nowhere and landed on the Knight's shoulder. It looked Asterios in the eye and let out a squawk.
"hello bird," the Minotaur returned its greeting.
"Hello mister bird!" Asia followed.
It squawked again, prompting Yuuto to chuckle a bit "I'm sort of glad you guys can't hear what he says."
Issei looked the final Devil in the room "What about you Toujou-chan?"
Koneko jabbed a thumb over her shoulder, pointing at the disguised Minotaur that she was sitting on.
"Oh, you're her Familiar Asterios?" Asia asked in surprised.
"Very funny," Issei deadpanned, getting confused looks from the former nun "Maybe if I had joined yesterday."
The neutral look on Koneko's face changed into a smirk, before she pointed up.
The two of them followed the direction where she was pointing, and saw a pair of cat ears suddenly pop out of Asterios' massive mane of hair on his head.
A moment later, a cat head suddenly popped out and let out a meow. It purred and stretched on his head, before walking forward and lightly tapping him in the forehead.
"this is shiro," Asterios introduced the cat, before his brought his hand over his head and gave it a pat, his hand covering the small cat in its entirety.
To Issei and Asia, it looked as if he pushed it back into his head.
"He likes to sleep in Asterios' hair." Koenko explained.
"This is super cool!" Issei looked around at the Familiars in the room.
"They're all so cute," Asia paused and then turned to Rias "But how do we get a Familiar?"
"Well that's what I wanted to say next," Rias started to speak, but was cut short by a knock on the door.
Akeno, after dispelling her own Familiar, turned to the door and answered "Come in!"
The door to the club room opened and walked in a group of girls and one boy. The one leading them was Souna Shitori, or Sona Sitri, the Student Council President.
Koneko's eyes widened slightly at their appearance, the white haired girl standing up from Asterios' lap.
The rest of the club house members did the same, standing by their Master as the rest of the Student Council walked into the room.
Asterios, still in his chair, took his hand off of Shiro, the cat still purring on his head, and turned to the door. He raised a hand and greeted the people with his stoic look "hello, welcome to the occult research club."
A few of the girls turned to him, and looked surprised at the tall boy sitting in an equally massive chair. The only one that didn't seem surprised was the one with blue hair.
"Hello Minos-san," Tsubasa returned his greeting with a wave "Not at track practice today?"
"not today," he shook his head.
"Shame." Tsubasa smiled, one that remained even as one of the other girls with her elbowed her in the stomach.
Rias smiled at the interaction, moreso when she saw a pout from Koneko, and turned to the one leading the group "What brings you here?"
"Just a visit," Sona replied "I heard that you recently added a new member to your Peerage, and since I did the same as well, I figured we could introduce them to each other."
When Issei expressed over confusion over her words, Akeno was kind enough to explain that Souna Shitori was actually a Sona Sitri, and just as how Rias was the heir to the Gremory family, she was the heir to the Sitri family.
"I didn't know there were other Devils in this school," Asia couldn't help but shy away at the knowledge.
The sole male of the group raised an eyebrow "I'm surprised that they didn't know about us."
"We try to avoid getting in each other's business." Sona replied. She gestured to the blonde "By the way, this is Saji Genshirou, he's my newest Pawn."
"This is Issei, my own Pawn, and Asia, she's my newest Bishop." Rias gestured to her own Peerage members.
More than a few of them glanced at Asterios, who seemed to have been ignored in the introduction.
Sona's eyes looked over Issei and Asia, before they flicked to Asterios. Her purple eyes, serious and calm, meeting with his red ones, stoic and unnerved.
Rias noticed this and turned to the disguised Minotaur "Asterios, if you could stand up please introduce yourself. It's not polite to just sit down with guest."
"oh sorry," He reached into his head and pulled out Shiro from his head, placing the cat onto the table, and then stood up. All seven foot of his current disguised form rose from his chair, seemingly growing taller as he stood up straight and stood with the group, standing just behind Koneko "hello, my name is asterios minos. i am human."
Rias smirked a bit at the slip up, but decided not to correct him.
Sona blinked as she had to tilt her head up to keep looking him in the eye "I see you weren't lying about his size Rias. I think he's even taller than my other Rook." She nodded "Pleasure to meet you face to face Minos-san."
"hmm" Asterios let out a grunt and nodded.
"Damn, he is one tall bas-" Saji stopped himself when he felt a glare nearly punch him in the stomach from the small white haired girl standing in front of the aforementioned tall student. He coughed into his hand when he could also feel the disappointed glare from Sona "I mean. I heard that he was tall, I think this is the first time I've seen up him up close."
Issei grinned "If you think he's big now, he gets even bigger!"
Tsubasa eyes sparkled "Does he now?"
[Scene]
After a few more exchanges, one that involved the two Pawns trying to break others hands by squeezing them, the two of them found out about the fact that both of them had apparently planned to get Familiars for their Peerage within the same time frame.
Initially planning to settle the dispute with a tennis match.
In which Asterios watched with confusion at the match, wondering if all tennis matches' were like this.
(Koneko explained that it wasn't, and that this was special)
All that resulted was a draw, and two pairs of broken tennis rackets.
Then they ended up deciding that a good way to settle the dispute, was with a dodgeball match. Taking place at night at the school gymnasium.
"so I throw it, and hit them, they lose?" Asterios asked one final time, as Yuuto threw the ball his way once more.
"That's the gist of it," Yuuto smiled "I'm glad you caught the rules quickly Asterios."
The disguised Minotaur nodded his head at the compliment.
"Are we sure that they're okay with Asterios joining us?" Issei asked, wincing as Koneko continued to try and push him further down.
"Sona didn't see anything wrong with it," Rias smiled as caught a throw from Asterios "Since Asterios is part of the club, it's fine for him to join."
"We basically have a tank," Koneko spoke up, giving a thumbs up to Asterios, uncaring of the pained cries underneath her "So we can't lose."
Asterios eyes widened a bit at the words. He turned to Rias, accidentally letting the ball that Yuuto throw bounce off his head, and asked "should I take off the disguise for this match president?"
Rias raised an eyebrow "If you want Asterios, if you think it'll help us win."
"Oh my!" Akeno smiled from her spot helping Asia stretch "How noble of you to reveal your true self to help your fellow club members!"
Asterios blushed at the words "th-thank you, vice-president."
After stretching was done, they gathered within the court in the gymnasium. Tied around the heads of the Occult Research Club members were headbands with inspirational words, made by Issei.
"Are you ready Rias?" Sona asked.
"A moment," Rias turned to Asterios "Asterios if you want to take off the disguise now, unless you've changed your mind?"
"oh right," Asterios reached for the ear-ring that held the spell and detached it from his ear.
Immediately his body grew to his full size, his attire changing into his normal metal corset and red sash along with the manacles around his limbs, his horns grew from his head, and finally his eyes turned from the normal human ones to his inhuman pair.
"Holy, ow, shit!" Saji swore as he stumbled back at the size of the Minotaur before him, a few of the other members stumbling backwards at the sight as well.
"I'd complain," Sona spoke up "But I figured it's my own fault."
"To be fair," Rias smiled back "He was the one that suggested it."
Both teams readied up.
Asterios himself had the first ball, looking comically small in his hands. He turned to Koneko, who gave him a thumbs up, prompting him nod back.
The referee for the match watched her flag, and signalled the start of the game.
Every member of the Student Council immediately felt danger, and the source of it was the Minotaur standing in the middle of the room.
Asterios pulled his arm back, and threw.
The fact that it had missed, not for a lack of trying, didn't detract that the throw had shaken the entire Gymnasium. Just the throw.
When it had impacted the wall, it buried deep into the wall and shook the area enough that some of the girls from the Student Council fell over and covered their heads.
"You missed." Koneko called out to the Minotaur.
"oh…" Asterios slumped forward slightly at the failure.
