"You know, it felt like I didn't really do much in that match." Issei commented as they celebrated their victory over the Student Council.
"Same here," Asia said weakly.
"At least you two did more than the chumps on the Student Council," Koneko reassured him "You guys fought 'til the end, two of them forfeited the moment Asterios threw one ball."
"To be fair for them, it was a very scary throw." Yuuto, ever polite, defended their opponents for giving up just as the game started. "Speaking of which, nice throw Asterios!"
"thank you, yuuto." Asterios nodded with a blush on his face.
"I'm just glad that you all managed to get through without any injuries," Rias said happily, a glass of juice in her hand. Her eyes flicked towards Issei with an amuse smile "Well non-permanent injuries at least."
"I'm just fine to be honest," Issei laughed "I probably would've felt worse getting hit in the nads, if Saji didn't also…"
At once, both Issei and Yuuto shuddered at the memory.
Asterios turned to Koneko, a confused look on his face. But she just simply placed a finger over her mouth.
"Remind us never to play against you in dodgeball Asterios," Yuuto informed the Minotuar.
"aww…" Asterios slumped slightly in his seat.
"Don't be so down Asterios," Akeno gave a reassuring pat on his shoulder "That just means that they want play with you."
That seemed to lift his spirits a bit.
Rias finished her drink, placing the juice down on her table "Well now that celebrations are done, shall we head out to get our two newest Devils their Familiars?"
Asia blinked "Are we going today?"
"The full moon is out tonight, it's the best time to make contracts with Familiars at this time." Rias explained. She leaned back against her desk "Although, there is a slight problem."
"More of a formality to be honest." Akeno continued from the words of the club president.
Asterios blinked when the two of them looked at him.
"I've said it before, the Gremory teleportation only works with those who are part of my household." Rias explained "And why Asterios is practically part of the Gremory family," a phrase that the Minotaur to blush happily "He's still not officially part of the household, so he can't use the teleportation circle."
Issei eyes widened, before they narrowed "We can't just leave him here!" He gestured to the Minotaur "He's the reason we can go get our Familiars."
Asia looked just a little sad at the news.
Yuuto was already giving the Minotaur an apologetic look.
Koneko was already glaring at the two older girls, it's intimidating factor ruined by the fact that she was pouting rather than snarling.
And Asterios… didn't seem that affected. Staring back at the red head with his stoic gaze.
Akeno rolled her eyes "Come on Rias, you don't have to tease them like that."
Rias giggle "I can't help it," She walked up to Asterios "But I am somewhat serious. To use the Gremory Teleportation circle you need to officially be part of the household." Her finger came alight with a red glow "I can obviously draw its crest onto you, marking you as part of the Gremory, only if you want to."
"Of course he does," Koneko spoke up "He wouldn't say no to this."
Akeno "Koneko, what did we say about asking for permission." The grumble she received as a response made her laugh.
"Well Asterios, want to be part of, or at the least property of the Gremory's?" Rias waggled her finger.
Asterios nodded, holding out a hand.
With a fwish and flick, the crest was drawn into his hand.
"Was that really necessary Prez?" Issei asked with a sigh.
Exasperation that was shared by Koneko, who's glare and pout only grew more intense.
[Scene]
The scenery around them changed, and the Occult Research Club found themselves in a rather spooky looking forest.
"Woah," Issei looked around "What is this place?"
"It's a magical forest silly, it's where all the Familiars come from." Akeno said.
"It's kinda scary," Asia leaned into Issei, the former nun looking around her "I've never seen anything like it."
"It's fine, don't worry." Yuuto tried to reassure her "There's nothing to be scared of." The blonde noticed how, even though Asia looked scared, Issei seemed fine. He raised an eyebrow "You're taking this rather well Issei."
"Y-Yeah," He nodded "It's kinda spooky, but compared to-" He paused to glance at Asterios "Uh, other places it's not that scary in comparison."
"Ah." Yuuto nodded, but kept quiet.
Asterios head tilted up and, to the surprise of everyone, seemed to sniff the around around him.
"a lot of magical creatures," he spoke, his eyes seemed to dart around him "some of them looking this way."
"It's to my own expectation, with your presence and your power you're inviting competition."
Heads turned to a tall tree, where an older man wearing some rather childish attire, was standing ontop the tallest branch. Despite the rather goofy outfit, he was looking at the group with a rather serious expression.
"Minotaur beast with a girl on his shoulder, are you aware of the strength of your power?" The man pointed a finger at him "Your presence is not only ancient but filled with magic, If you patrol this area looking for prey then you'll end up with morsels quite tragic."
"Hey man-child," Koneko voice suddenly interrupted his speech "He's with us and he isn't looking for a fight."
The man pulled back at the barbed words, but he turned his focus back on the Minotaur.
Asterious met his gaze.
"I see what you mean little girl and I apologise, it's just that the safety of these creature I mu-" he paused when he felt killing intent and saw that the Minotaur had seemingly caught the girl that was on his shoulder mid-jump.
[Scene]
The Familiar Master, the man that had verbally assaulted Asterios as Koneko would explain it, lead the Gremory group to a rather serene looking lake.
"This lake here serene and bright, at the bottom resides Magical sprites." The Familiar Master explained, prompting the interest of Issei.
As he gushed about the possibility of an attractive Familiar, Asterios leaned forward closer to the lake. The reflected visage of a Minotaur, and the short white haired Devil on his shoulder, appeared on the water.
A moment later the image vanished as it rippled and from the depths emerged the sprite that the Familiar Master had talked about.
In a form that did nothing but drive Issei to despair.
The rather muscular woman turned her attention to the source of the sound, before her gaze locked onto the largest and most muscular figure of the group.
With movements that caused the water around her to splash in an arc, she flexed her arms above her head.
Asterios eyes narrowed as he could feel hostile intent.
She returned the glare by striking another pose, this time presenting her biceps towards the Minotaur.
Further sensing the hostile intent, Asterios' body slouched forward slightly as he spread out his arms. His mouth pulled back into a snarl.
The water underneath her splashed as she changed her pose, flexing her arms to present her biceps and her chest. Her eyes flashed dangerously.
Asterios mouth opened and let out a growl.
The water underneath her exploded as she suddenly rushed forward, seemingly skating on the water with her abilities.
The two clashed, locked in a brawler's grapple. She was immediately overpowered, the larger size of the Minotaur and his greater strength forced her arms above her head.
"Ho ho what a sight, of the many elementals this one holds the most might." The Familiar Master crossed his arms impressed "To present such a challenge to a male can be seen as ritual to mate, mayhaps she wishes the Minotaur to be the one to share her fate?"
"I don't think so." Koneko spoke up as she pulled her fist back. The sprite looked surprised, seemingly noticing her for the first time. The surprised expression didn't last before a small fist that held much more strength than it should smashed into her face and then send her skidding back into the lake.
Koneko glared at the water, before turning to the rest of the group. "What?" She shrugged "it's not like anyone here wanted her as a Familiar."
[Scene]
"Well if a sprite is not up to your standard, then maybe for the boy there's a Familiar who's taste you catered." They moved further down the lake.
"Anything that isn't like what we just saw, please." Issei begged.
"I think she had nice eyes," Asia commented kindly, before she pursed her lips "At least until it started glaring at Asterios."
"Well the one I'll show you might be more recluse, but her appearance I feel your taste it would suit." Moving the deeper down the lake the Familiar Master looked back at "But be aware that this chance may not come again, if you leave and return later I cannot promise that she might be there then."
"A rare Familiar then?" Rias spoke up "That seem's lucky for us."
"Indeed very rare to see as she sees herself as elite, only seeing this forest as a retreat." He held out a hand to stop the group, before he gestured forward "Behold and feast your eyes on a being with beautiful features and skin so pale, the kindest of the Three Gorgon Sisters, Euryale."
Just as before they stopped before a serene looking lake. The only difference was that in the middle of the lake was a formation of rocks that looked exactly like a bed.
Reclining on the bed was a rather petite looking woman, with purple hair and dressed in fine white clothes. She didn't seem to notice the group, simply lying on the rock bed while a magical spotlight seemingly shined upon her.
When they moved closer, her eyes opened and snapped towards them.
Rias and Akeno took a step back, only to be surprised at the lack of petrification.
"Fret yet boys and girls there is nothing to fear, neither she nor her sisters will petrify others if they wish to return here." He paused "But if they use their other abilities, then that's not my responsibility."
At the rather lacklustre reassurance, Rias Akeno and Yuuto opted to turn away from the Gorgon, Yuuto even summoned a blade just in case.
The eyes of the Gorgon sitting in the middle of the lake stared at the rest of the group dismissively, something that made Asia wilt as those eyes seem to insult her just by staring at her. Eventually she turned away, from the gaze and from the embarrassment at the thought of being insulted by just a look.
Her eyes turned from Asia and then landed on Issei.
Immediately he fell to his knees.
The rest of the group reacted, but paused when they heard sobbing from the Pawn. "How can someone be so mean with just their eyes?!"
Rias shook her head, while Akeno simply laughed and gave him a reassuring pat on his back.
Then the last one willing to stare at the Gorgon was Asterios.
The two of them stared at the each other. The dismissive look in her eyes slowly melting away into interest the longer the Minotaur kept his gaze locked on her without a reaction.
Issei, who had recovered, stood up and saw the staring contest between the two. He looked back and forth between them, before he grinned and playfully jabbed the Minotaur in his side. "I see it now Asterios, I guess you do have a type don't you?"
Asterios was about to answer, but found his gaze of the Gorgon blocked by a pair of hands. He looked around, the hands following him "i can't see."
"There's nothing for you to see." A red faced and angry Koneko spoke through gritted teeth, she turned her attention to the Gorgon in the middle of the lake.
Rias blinked when she thought she heard a hiss from Koneko. She blinked again when she heard the slightly crackle of lightning beside her.
Euryale smirked before she turned her gaze away from the group and simply closed her eyes once more.
[Scene]
"That my friend is a Hydra, a magnificent beast with eight heads. Known to kill their Masters for something as trivial for not giving it enough beds."
Asterios roared as he caught one of the heads in his hands, the giant snake hissed and sprayed its venom on his face. Something that would have drawn concern, if it hadn't already happened twice already and barely did anything to the Minotaur it was fighting.
His bare foot dug into the ground underneath him again and the Minotaur pulled.
"Although it meant to be a creature who's strength and power is to invoke fear, that Minotaur of yours is more than capable of handling it that much is clear" He let out a sigh and shook his head "If I can only make one request is that for you to try to keep this quiet, if people knew of this, even without knowing the strength of your friend, the legends of the Hydra's strength no one would buy it."
"Rip another head off Asterios." Koneko cheered, having removed herself when Asterios moved to confront the Hydra that had suddenly rushed in to attack. Next to her Akeno cheered on as well, even offering him tips of where to punch to draw out the fight even longer.
"It's a shame," Rias spoke over the sound of panicked monstrous screams and tearing flesh "A reptilian Familiar like this would've been perfect for Issei."
"Are you kidding me?!" Issei pointed at the giant snake creature that was fighting their friend "That thing rushed in like a maniac and tried to eat Asterios, there's no one I'm getting something like that!"
Asterios let out a final roar, his muscles bulging as the Minotaur pulled his arms back and tore another head clean off. The former Eight headed beast was down to Five.
The remaining heads shrieked and cried out at the loss of another head.
"I'LL… KILL… YOU!" Asterios shouted, seemingly lost in a blood lust rage.
"The funny thing to think of later, is after this that Hydra would probably be more than willing to accept him as a Master." The Familiar Master winced as the Minotaur punched another Hydra head into paste "Assuming there's any left of it."
[Scene]
"Congratulations on getting your Familiar Asia."
After a couple more Familiars, and one pest that was handled quite shockingly, the trip ended with Asia getting a young dragon as her Familiar.
Only Asia, as Issei's choice of Familiar was a slime that ate clothes that had been cooked and eaten by the young dragon that had chosen Asia.
Koneko chewed into a cookie, simply staring as she saw the dragon shock Issei once more. "I like this Familiar," she said to Asterios standing next to her.
"i think it's little too mean," the Minotaur added, still drenched in Hydra blood.
"Asterios~" Akeno called out from the clubhouse shower "The water is ready, we need to get that Hydra blood of you before it does anything bad."
Koneko popped the rest of the cookie in her mouth "Let's get you clean up." Before she followed the Minotaur into the shower.
On the ground Issei let out a small cry of jealously but also pride at what he was seeing.
