Chapter 1

Jim sighed as it rained from his room. He looked at a photo of Clare " I can't believe , she had to move away and it was after we saved her brother " He thought. He was glad that at least , they told her parents what was going on and how they kissed before she left. He put on his coat and walked around arcadia oaks. He noticed a new coffee shop and entered it. He took a seat and sighed as a girl placed her coffee down at his table. " you seem sad , What happened " the girl asked.

Jim smiled " This girl I liked left because her family moved away and i have spent the last week in my room " He said. The girl chuckled " I see , My name is Rize " She said. He nodded " the name is james lake Jr but my friends call me Jim " He said. She smiled as the waitress coughed " So Jim , what would you like " She asked. Jim was blushing " Some coffee , thanks " He said.The waitress went to get the coffee as Jim stared into Rize eyes.

Rize placed her hand on Jim's " Jim would you like to go on a date tomorrow " She asked. He smiled of course as the waitress placed his coffee on the table. He took a sip and smiled as Rize payed for the coffee. " See you tomorrow Jim " She said waving bye. He was blushing as he waved bye back at her. Touka sighed " Boys are so dumb " She thought taking the money and placed it in the register.

Jim took a sip of his coffee and watched the rain. Touka crossed her arms and was looking at the clock. Jim finished his coffee and looked at the waitress as he got up.He noticed the annoyed look on her face " Sorry miss waitress , i took my time waiting for the rain to stop " He said opening the door to leave. She smiled " its fine , come back again " She said. He walked out the door and was happy.

He arrived home and opened the door . He walked inside " What have you been James lake Jr " he heard jumping up. He turned around " Mom , I went out and found a coffee shop " He said. Barbara looked her son in the eyes. " Well , your in a better mood , you met a girl didn't you " she asked. He scratched his face " Maybe , Mom , will talk in the morning " He said heading to his room. He jumped on to his bed and fell asleep.

The next morning he woke up and walked to the bathroom. He took off the clothes , he wore to bed and entered the shower and turned on the water . He thought about last night and the girl , he met. " I think , its fate " He thought as the water washed over him. He finished with the shower and turned off the water. He placed a towel on after drying off.

He went into his room and changed into a suit. He looked in the mirror " no too much , he said noticed how many blue shirts and jeans " He had. He noticed the pile of clothes on his bed after changing into them . He placed the clothes back and was wearing his normal outfit. " Hmm , by the power of merlin , daylight is mine to command. He looked at the armor in the mirror " hi , Rize i am here to be your knight in shining armor " He said. " no , just no Jim " he heard. He turned and stepped back " Toby how long have you been standing there " He asked. Toby gave a stare " long enough , that your mom made breakfast oatmeal " He said.

Jim untransformed from the armor. " I see , A girl asked me out toby and I was trying to figure out what to wear " He said. Toby took a seat on Jim's bed " if she likes , you just wear what you normally wear " He said. Jim looked in the mirror " thanks Toby " He said heading downstairs , He looked at his mom eating the oatmeal.

He took a seat and quickly ate it. " nice job , mom I'll make your lunch for work before my I go to my date " He said. Barbara saw how quick jim was working boiling some water and frying some chicken and chopping some tomatoes. " So you do , have a date just call me when you get home I'll be working late in the hospital " She said. Jim nodded making a quick cheese sauce and placing some egg noddles in the boiling water.He placed the pasta , chicken , tomatoes and topped it with the cheese sauce. " Finished mom " he said placing it into two containers. He placed in the fridge and left.

Barbara took a sip of her coffee as Jim came downstairs. " You smelled , Jim's cooking don't worry he made one for you toby as well " She said. Toby nodded taking out of the fridge " I'll tell Jim thanks later " He said leaving. Barbara grabbed her lunch and left for work. Jim walked towards the coffee shop and saw Rize waiting and waved. Rize waved back as Jim stopped in front of her. " wow that , dress is amazing " He said. Rize punched his arm " its almost the same as my last dress , but thanks for the complement Jim " She said. He smiled taking her hand

and walked to an arcade and bookstore. She looked at it and smiled fun and took his hand as they entered. Jim and Rize started playing a crane game. He won her a stuffed bear. He then grabbed a book off a shelf and noticed she took the same one.

After both paid for the books Jim and Rize went to a park and started reading. " So jim , what are your thoughts are on the main character " She asked. Jim smiled " he is cool and everything , but its kinda dumb how he fails to notice the girl he likes wants to kill him " He said. Rize placed her head on His shoulder " i think the same thing Jim , wanna go and grab a bite to eat " She said. He nodded as they sat up from the bench. He smiled holding her hand as they walked to a fancy restaurant.

He was shocked at who the waiter was. " Eli pepperjack " He said. Eli nodded leading Jim and Rize to a table. Rize smiled and order Jim surf and turf. Jim noticed Eli almost dropped the food but was saved by Douxie. Douxie placed the food on the table and put the surf and turf in front of jim and some sandwiches in front of Rize. Jim started to eat the steak and lobster tail. He noticed as it got dark Angor on a roof nearby. He sighed as he finished eating. Rize paid the bill and Jim took her hand as they left.

" I'll walk you home Rize " He said. Rize waved her hand throu her head " all right Jim " She said. " I'll lead the way " She said. Jim nodded as they walked throu side streets. Jim noticed they were alone as he felt a stabbing pain. He noticed Blood and saw the change in Rize's eyes. He tried to run and noticed they were in a construction sight. He fell over and noticed Rize in front of him. He took out the amulet and had trouble finding the words. " Jim , lets finish our dinner " She said.

Jim noticed the steal beams fall and passed out. He was barely awake on the operating table. " The only way will save him is if we give him the girls organs " He head before passing out.

He awoke in the hospital and saw his mom asleep leaning on the bed. He woke her up shaking her shoulder . " Hi mom , what happened " He said. Barbara woke up and hugged her son. " Jim , I am glad your awake , what happened was an accident that girl you were with died and her organs are inside you " She said. Jim nodded noticing the food in front of him. He took a bite and spit it out as his mom left the room " Horrible " He thought going back to sleep.

He sighed not eating the next day and turned away visitors. He kept thinking what is wrong with me. He wanted to ask Blinky or dictatious but felt like its just from the accident the changes. He was realised several days later. He got out of the taxi and noticed a note from his mom and Toby. " Here is some food and Jim son I will be away for two weeks " He said.

He sighed opening the door and placed the food on the counter. He turned on the tv. " A ghouls sense of taste is different and their body is stronger " He heard. His face turned pale " no no , i am not a ghoul " He thought. He rushed to the kitchen and cooked a whole bunch of dishes. He took a bite of each and every dish and vomited in the bathroom. He put all the food away and went to bed.

He walked to school the next day and did not speak to Toby. He noticed Toby place a raw steak in front of him. " Toby that is covered in maggots " He said. Toby " Sorry about that Jim , but is something wrong , and i wanted to use something to get you yo speak to me " He said. Jim smiled " I am the same , old Jim just having an off day " He said leaving. Jim walked home after school and as he entered Angor pushed him to the ground. " Could you try and kill me " He said pushing his dagger into his kidney.

Angor sighed " no damage , you really are a ghoul Jim " He said. Jim started to cry " I am not , i am a human " He said. Angor tried the other kidney " Former Human , troll hunter " He said. Angor noticed tears in Jim's eyes and felt sorry for him. " Excuse me but I think , He has had enough " a girls voice said. Angor looked at the girl " I was just leaving , but he feels broken make sure to help him come to terms with what happened " He said leaving throu the window Touka broke throu.

Jim looked at the girl and noticed the uniform " Wait your , the waitress from that cafe " He said. She ruffled Jim's hair " I meant to see you earlier but your good at avoiding people and turning away people at the hospital. Jim dried his tears " So I am a ghoul " He said. She nodded " I could tell , when you past by the cafe and I was taking out the trash and smelled Rize " She said. Jim looked in her eyes " has anything , like this happened before " He asked.

She rolled her eyes and flicked Jim's far head " Hell No Jim , and My name is Touka " She said. Jim nodded looking at the amulet " Let me guess , we are heading to the cafe , so I can learn more " He said. She started walking to the door " Yup " She said. He followed her " Touka , mind if I check something first " He asked. She turned and faced him " Be quick , Jim " She said. Jim smiled holding the amulet " By the power of merlin , daylight is mine to command " He said.

Touka watched noticing the armor and his Kagune. She looked at the Kagune rapped around the armor and his sword. " I see checking to see if you are the troll hunter " She said. Jim had a questioning look " How " He asked. She chuckled " Just gathered some information " She said. Jim slammed his hand into his face " Eli and his diagram , Is he a ghoul " He asked. she nodded " No , no just someone who likes to help others " She said leaving . Jim quickly followed after her after untransforming from the armor.
