Chapter 2
Jim entered the cafe and was brought to the owner office . he took a seat on one of the leather recliners and looked at the ceiling still trying to process everything as he felt a little kid elbow drop him . " what the heck " he said and got up from the recliner and picked up the kid . He blinked " wait doesn't my mom Barbra babysit you and are you a ghoul " he asked as the kid stuck out his tonuge and ran off . He relaxed and sat back down on the recliner and looked back at the ceiling . he then heard the door open and looked down and to the open door . He noticed it was touka and two others . He noticed the older person took a seat on the other leather recliner and saw the other person making coffee at the station in the corner of the room . He heard the older person coughed and turned to face them .
Yoshimura looked at him and smiled " nice to meet you James lake Jr " he said as Jim nodded . He nodded as the person making the coffee brought it over . He took a cup of coffee from his hand as did Jim . He took a sip of his cup as did Jim who had a shocked look on his face . " ghouls can drink coffee and I can teach you so you learn how to be a ghoul and survive in the human world " he said . He noticed Jim looking closely at the person who made the coffee .
Jim took a sip of his coffee and relaxed " Douxie Casperan wait are you a ghoul " he asked as touka punched him in the shoulder . he then smelled the air and noticed " oh he is human but something else like he has magic " he said as Douxie nodded leaving the room . He took a sip of his coffee and placed the cup of coffee on the table in between the two recliners . " sorry I interrupted you during your explanation and you can call me Jim " he said .
Yoshimura waved his hand " my name is yoshimura and I am the manager of anteiku " he said as Jim picked up his coffee and he put his empty cup down . " so what do you want to do Jim while we train you if you decide that you can live and work here while going to school and touka can help you while thier along with Eli pepperjack who is aware of our existence and helps even thou he is human " he said . he noticed Jim thinking about it . " take your time Jim " he said looking at the clock . He nodded and got up from the recliner and went to leave the room " touka it's time for us to open the cafe " he said leaving the room with touka .
Jim finished his cup of coffee and felt relaxed on the recliner and was lost in thought . " I can't go home but maybe I can find a new balance if I work here " he thought seeing the boy from earlier take a seat on the recliner next to him . " what do you want " he asked the kid . He noticed the kid chuckled as a girl came in that was around the same age and dragged the kid away .
He got up from the leather recliner and walked to the front and saw the two kids and saw touka giving the two kids some coffee
. He looked at the manger " so yoshimura who are these kids and can we talk in your office " he asked . he noticed the manager nodded fine as the kid who elbow dropped and was chuckling earlier followed them and holding a piece of cake . He took a seat on a leather recliner as did the manager . " I want to live and work here so I can learn to survive as a ghoul and perform my duties as the trollhunter and protect everyone " he said not noticing the kid was no longer holding the cake .
Yoshimura smiled " of course and this boy who is a kid name is Chris and is quite mischievous and dresses as a boy or girl so no one knows which he is except his friends and the girl you saw drag him off is his sister hinami fueguchi " he said as Jim nodded
. He looked to Chris and smiled " get touka please since she has to go and help get Jim stuff from his house " he said . He noticed Chris nodded and chuckled seeing Jim sat on a piece of cake . He noticed Jim sighed as he got up from the recliner and noticed the crushed cake .
Jim took a breath and saw Touka enter with Chris who was laughing . He smiled and ruffled Chris head . " funny anyway touka let's head to my house " he said . He left with tokua and saw Eli pepperjack in a work uniform . He scratched his face as they left the cafe and whispered in touka ear . " why didn't rize try and kill eli " he asked . He noticed she shrugged her shoulders at the question . He noticed as they reached his house toby , blinky , and Arrgghh!! waiting inside .
Touka punched Jim in the arm " tell them your still the trollhunter after all " she said
. She noticed Jim stepped back " no running away tell them and I'll give an answer to your question about eli " she said as he rushed ahead and opened the door to his house . She walked in after him . She looked to Toby , blinky , and Arrgghh and patted Jim shoulder to reassure him telling them everything was the right call .
