A/N: I do not own Star Wars. All direct text from the Star Wars films will be made bold and made obvious. I don't see enough of the "Watching the films" stories out there, so I decided to write one of my own. Let me know what you think!
Mandalore
19 BBY
The rightful heir to the throne of Mandalore, Bo-Katan Kryze watched as ex-Jedi Ahsoka Tano boarded the Republic Shuttle alongside the Sith renegade Maul. Finally Mandalore was free from his grasp, and she can rule as she has been meant to since her sister, the Duchess Satine, was murdered by Maul.
Unwilling to let Maul escape, she gave up the last of the force dampening containment cells that she had access to. Hopefully this sign of goodwill will make the Jedi Council more willing to leave Mandalore alone. The Galactic Civil War had brought many more deaths to Bo-Katan's people, and Maul brought too many more.
"Ursa." Bo-Katan turned to her fellow soldier, Ursa Wren. "Let's go back to the Throne Room. I am guessing it is in need of a few repairs."
"Agreed." Ursa nodded, however as her jetpack turned on, the flames seemed to freeze.
"Ursa?" Bo-Katan questioned, only to receive no response. Next to her, a door seemed to be opened from nowhere, and a room of black and white laid beyond it. Curiosity got the better of her, and as she pulled out one of her blasters, she walked in.
Republic Cruiser above Mandalore
19 BBY
Ahsoka stood on the bridge of the cruiser, looking out at the stars as she thought back over the battle that just took place. Maul tested her abilities to the max, and had the battle taken place elsewhere, she most likely would have died. That is, if she didn't join Maul like he asked.
The offer Maul gave Ahsoka still confused her. Why would she join him and take down Sidious? Why couldn't the Jedi do it themselves? And why would Maul just make up the story about Anakin joining Sidious. Nothing made any sense. As did Maul's final words before he was stunned. Why would everyone burn and die? It didn't make sense as a threat due to the fact that he specifically said "we."
The bridge doors open and Ahsoka feels the presence of Rex walking up next to her as the cruiser enters hyperspace, heading back to Coruscant. The two watch the stars become blurry before the familiar view of lightspeed comes into focus. Though as the blue tunnel normally twists, it was still.
Ahsoka glances at Rex as he shakes his head in confusion. The pilots were all frozen around them as well. Igniting her lightsabers, Ahsoka turned to see a door open, the black and white patterns drawing both her and Rex through the door.
Coruscant
Senate Building
19 BBY
A transport pulled up to the giant senate building, offloading all sorts of people. Senators, civilians, and most relevant, two Jedi. These two had just rescued the Supreme Chancellor from the clutches of General Grievous. They were Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker.
"Are you coming, Master?" Anakin asked his former teacher.
"No, no." Obi-Wan chuckled. "I'm not brave enough for politics."
"Hold on!" Anakin countered. "This whole operation was your idea."
All of a sudden, a disturbance in the force was felt by both Anakin and Obi-Wan, along with Jedi Master Mace Windu and Grand Master Yoda, who were nearby on the platform. All four Jedi ignited their lightsabers, as the world around them froze into silence.
"What's going on?" Obi-Wan questioned.
"Unknown to me, this is." Yoda replied. "Feels familiar, yet new."
A crack in the fabric of the world split open, and opened to reveal a dimension of black and white shapes.
"This was in a book I read once." Mace Windu realized. "It's The World between Worlds. A dimension between worlds, with doorways leading to different times in the universe."
"Why did a pathway open?" Anakin frowned.
"I don't know." Windu shook his head. "Let's find out, but be wary."
Unknown to the Jedi, a certain Senator who was hidden amongst the columns, was pulled into the crack as well.
The World Between Worlds
?
As all eight of the travelers stepped in, the doors closed behind them.
"Anakin!" Padme Amidala-Skywalker shouted in excitement, however upon noticing who else was there, she coughed and backed away from the hug she was about to envelop her husband with. "My apologies, Knight Skywalker, for my informality."
"Apology accepted, Senator Amidala." Anakin's eyes twinkled at the sight of his beautiful wife.
"We all know you two are friends." Obi-Wan rolled his eyes. "No need for these false formalities."
"Where are we?" Bo-Katan questioned the Jedi.
"The World between Worlds." Ahsoka's eyes widened. "I've seen this place in dreams."
"Fascinating!" Yoda exclaimed.
"Indeed it is." A disembodied voice said, a voice familiar to some in the room.
"Qui-Gon!" Obi-Wan exclaimed.
The blue force ghost of the late Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn appeared in front of the group, causing Obi-Wan to collapse to his knees in shock.
"How… how are you here?" Windu questioned.
"The Force has shown me the future, and I am here to show you." Qui-Gon explained. "The future of the galaxy is set upon a very dark path, and we are going to stop it."
"The separatists win, don't they?" Padme said, frowning.
"I can't tell you, your highness." Qui-Gon winked. "You all will find out."
Bo-Katan rolled her eyes. "Jedi and your riddles."
"I have three holo-films you all will watch." Qui-Gon pointed to the tv and the film discs. "They will show you the future as of 19 years in the future."
"I missed you, Master." Obi-Wan said, standing up.
"Thank you, my padawan, for holding up your promise to train Anakin." Qui-Gon nodded. "You have grown to be a great Jedi."
"Thank you, Master." Obi-Wan smiled, and Qui-Gon turned to Anakin.
"It's been a long time, Ani."
"To you as well, Master Qui-Gon." Anakin responded.
"I will leave you all now, the first film is already loaded up for you guys." Qui-Gon stated as he disappeared. The group sat down in seats that were similar to the Jedi Council seats.
The blue words appeared on the black screen,
A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away…
