Here's the new chapter!
Enjoy!
It was a beautiful morning in Karuizawa, Haruhi was working, waiting tables again and Lacy was enjoying a nice breakfast when the pair were interrupted by the twins coming down from their room yelling at each other because one pushed the other off the bed. Lacy looked at Haruhi with pity as she went to wait on their table.
"It's too early for them to be fighting."
Lacy muttered to herself as she finished her breakfast and cleaned up her table before walking up to the twins as Tamaki appeared and hit them with a rolled up book.
"Will you three knock it off."
Tamaki stopped his ranting and the twins stopped their bickering while Haruhi smiled knowing that Lacy first thing in the morning was not a happy person, her scars were showing as she had the day off.
"We're working hard and we don't need you three to make our lives harder. Now. Order something off the menu and be nice to Haruhi. She doesn't have to be nice to you."
The boys looked at her in shock as she glared before walking off to change into a purple, strapless, sundress before walking downstairs to see someone delivering a package.
"Hi Arai!"
Lacy greeted cheerfully as the boy looked up and smiled.
"Hi Lacy!"
The pair gave each other a quick hug before Lacy pointed out a shocked Haruhi.
"Long time no see! It's been since middle school graduation, right? How are you?"
Lacy laughed as the pair started chatting before walking over to Misuzu.
"Why don't you give Haruhi a break to talk with Arai? I'll cover for her."
"That's a wonderful idea Lacy!"
Lacy smiled and told Haruhi she could have a break while grabbing her own apron and waiting tables. Welcoming the rest of the Host Club when they arrived and getting their drinks for them before returning to see the twins trying to get Haruhi in trouble for taking a break.
"Will you two knock it off?"
The group jumped and looked at Lacy as she stared at them unamused.
"Leave Haruhi alone. She deserves a break."
The group quieted down until Lacy walked away before picking on Aria, causing Lacy to turn on her heels and place herself between the two tables.
"Stop trying to pick a fight. Aria is a nice boy. I'm not putting up with this pettiness on my day off."
Hikaru glared at Lacy before saying loudly.
"He's clearly attracted to Haruhi. It's so obvious that it's annoying."
Lacy felt her temper snap a little bit as she almost smacked Hikaru.
"That's enough! You're the one being annoying and immature to top it off! If you keep acting rude I'll kick you out of here myself!"
Lacy was stopped by Arai calling her name.
"Lacy, it's fine."
Lacy turned and looked at Aria.
"It's true I was attracted to Haruhi. But, she rejected me a year ago."
He laughed nervously as Lacy turned a curious eye to Haruhi as Arai explained how Haruhi brushed him off in middle school causing Lacy to laugh and Kyoya chastised her.
"Haruhi. You broke that pure boy's fragile heart with your complete insensitivity."
Haruhi ducked her head.
"I didn't mean to."
She turned and bowed to Arai explaining she was sorry.
"It's okay. I got over it. The fact that you didn't get it meant you weren't interested in me. That's all."
Lacy smiled and shook her head while moving to another table as Tamaki stood up and the rest of the Host Club, minus the twins joined Haruhi and Arai. Lacy turned around just in time to see Haruhi smack Hikaru.
"Hikaru, That's not something you decide. I won't let you insult my friend any further."
This caused Hikaru to snap a little.
"Why cares about other people? Look, we're the ones who are your friends!"
Hikaru sneered before dashing back upstairs with Kaoru not far behind. Tamaki made a comment about the twins' world still being small. Lacy just shook her head and went to the kitchen to retrieve an order before walking back out to see Haruhi and Hikaru were gone.
"What did I miss?"
Kyoya turned and smiled at her.
"Hikaru went on a date with Haruhi."
Lacy smiled.
"Well that's interesting."
Kyoya noticed Lacy's purse and smirked.
"Would you like an escort around town?"
Lacy smirked and nodded.
"I would like that very much."
The pair walked in silence until they were far enough from the Host Club before holding hands and smiling at eachother.
"I can't believe we got away to have an actual date!"
Lacy giggled and walked closer to Kyoya as they approached the charming little town.
"Tamaki will be too preoccupied with Haruhi being on a date to notice we're missing."
Kyoya commented while looking down at Lacy until she pulled him over to an ice cream stand.
"Why here?"
Lacy grinned and asked the teller for two ice cream cones.
"They're supposed to be famous. Might as well try some."
Kyoya gave her an amused smile and paid for the treat before they took a seat on a bench, Lacy taking a bite of her ice cream before smiling.
"It's really good! I haven't had ice cream since I moved. I missed it."
She smiled sadly to herself while Kyoya looked at her and bit into his thinking about the girl and everything he had learned about her, what all she had been through.
"Do you miss the states?"
Lacy gave a heavy sigh before jumping and grabbing Kyoya's hand and ducking behind a wall before looking around it.
"What is it?"
Kyoya asked with concern.
"It's Haruhi and Hikaru, I didn't think you wanted us to be spotted."
Kyoya peeked around the corner to see that Lacy was right and the pair were buying some yams.
"That was close."
Lacy sighed and grabbed Kyoya's hand and started walking.
"To answer your question. I do miss it on occasion. I miss my friends, well, looking back I guess they weren't my real friends like you guys. They didn't have my best interest at heart."
Looking around, Lacy pulled Kyoya into a local shop to look around as Kyoya thought about what she said.
"What happened in the states that caused your mother to disown you?"
Lacy paused as she looked at a necklace.
"Are you sure you want to know? I don't want your perception of me to change."
A sad look crossed her eyes until Kyoya grabbed her hand and used his other hand to gently raise her gaze to his.
"Nothing you could say is going to change how I think about you."
Lacy nodded slowly before walking further into the store where it was a little less crowded.
"I'm sure you've heard about the hectic schedules some artists have?"
Kyoya nodded his head.
"I couldn't keep up without some help."
She paused before continuing.
"My friend at the time, the one you saw me singing with at the house, he introduced me to some pretty hard drugs. Methaphetime to be precise. My mother warned me the first time she caught me strung out that if I ever did it again then she would disown me. I didn't believe her, who would? Especially knowing who my father was. So I pressed my luck and continued using. When I realized what it was doing to me I stopped, but the damage had been done and she told me I had three weeks to get out and move back in with my uncle and Haruhi. I've been clean ever since."
Lacy wouldn't look at Kyoya, shame washing over her until Kyoya smiled and gently hugged her and gave her a kiss.
"Thank you for telling me."
Lacy smiled at him.
"Still want to secretly go out with me?"
She giggled and winked at him.
"Absolutely."
With another quick kiss the pair exited the store and noticed the storm clouds.
"That doesn't look good. There's a church close by, we can wait out the storm there."
Kyoya nodded in agreement and allowed Lacy to lead the way to a beautiful church, the pair entering just as it started to downpour.
"Hopefully it won't last long."
Kyoya pulled her to his side as they watched the storm outside, every thunder and lightning strike making Lacy jump causing Kyoya to sigh and move them deeper into the church away from the windows and held her close as the storm raged on. The pair were oblivious to the fact that Haruhi had snuck in after they were out of sight and was hiding under one of the tables. Kyoya kissed Lacy as lightning struck again causing her to jump closer to him. At the sound of the door bursting open the pair jumped and walked around the corner to see Tamaki holding a sleeping Haruhi wrapped in a sheet.
"Kyoya? What are you and Lacy doing here?"
Tamaki questioned.
"I was escorting Lacy on her errands and it started to rain so we came here to seek shelter."
Kyoya's simple explanation seemed to make Tamaki happy as everyone left the church and climbed into the twin's limo and rode back to the pensione. Kyoya waited until the rest of the club was distracted by making sure Haruhi was taken care of before pulling Lacy into her room.
"I enjoyed our little outing, Lacy."
She grinned at him and nodded.
"I did as well Kyoya. We will have to do it again sometime."
With a sly smile Kyoya pulled her against him, giving her a passionate kiss before pulling back and smiling down at her.
"This is going to be a fun summer break."
I know the date with Hikaru is supposed to be the next day but I really couldn't think of anything as a filler so I skipped right to it!
Hope everyone enjoyed!
Until the next one!
