It took a week for those in the future to finalise their plans for returning to the past and for Hermione and a team of Unspeakables to modify Time Turners to bring everyone back like Portkeys. They'd determined the location of the children and hoped that the Order had them safe and well but understandably they were worried about them and wanted them back in their own time as quickly as they possibly could. Many people wanted to return to the past; all the Weasley's wanted to see Fred again but in the end, it was decided that five adults would go to the past, each of whom would bring back five children.
After much arguing on the merits of different people going to the past; it was eventually decided that Harry, Ron and Hermione would go to the past with Draco and George. So, on a blustery day over a week after last seeing the children, each of the five stood out in the garden of Grimmould Place a Golden Time Turner wrapped around each of their necks, the hourglasses spinning, ready to send them to a time none of them had wanted to see again.
"For the children," Draco muttered as a blue light emitted from his Time Turner, brightening to the point he had to close his eyes and then he was spinning through time, hoping his babies were all right. His feet hit earth, hard and fast, his knees buckling as he fell forward onto the ground, dry heaving into a thick uncared-for lawn that was far different than the manicured lawn filled with toys that the Potter's kept in the future.
"GET UP," a gruff voice grumbled a wand pointing into his back.
"Nice to see you too Mad Eye," he grumbled rising to his feet, arms in the air as a sign of peace.
"Still a brat I see," the one-eyed man said, his mechanical eye whizzing frantically.
"We mean you no harm," Harry's voice sounded from his right, the Auror cool and collected even with Kingsley's wand against his throat.
"We'll be the judge of that," Remus spoke, his wand against Hermione. Draco could see both George and Ron also had wands pointed at them by Order members.
"He's telling the truth, we are from the future, our children were in an accident and should be in this time, please say they are here," Hermione spoke her voice that of a panicked mother, Draco could see Remus' wand waver at the sound of her worry.
"They are safe, Hermione," he told her.
"That may be the case but, in our time, it is a time of war, so safety first, constant vigilance aye Mad Eye," a cheerful voice called from the doorway of the townhouse where his cousin Tonks stood, wand out, her hair acid green.
"Right, you are Nymphadora," Moody grumbled.
"So, security questions, ask us anything," Harry spoke.
"Malfoy, when you were five your mother brought you to visit my family. What did my mother give you before you returned to the manor," Tonks asked him?
"That's the question you asked the younger version of him when he was brought here yesterday, it was a bad question then and it is still a bad question now," Moody snarled at her.
"I think it's a great question, I guess my younger pompous self refused to answer. Auntie Andy gave me a yellow rabbit teddy with a blue bow, I named it Crème puff and it was my favourite teddy," he told his cousin, as those around him stifled laughs.
"Correct, welcome to the past cousin," Tonks told him happily.
"Will that suffice, or do you have questions for the rest of us," George asked quietly, he'd been pensive, since it was decided he'd come back with them.
"That will do for now, I doubt Death Eaters can get a hold of five working Time Turners, poliduce into older versions of teenagers and clone said teenager's magical signatures and get into a property hidden under the Fidelius the old Auror grumbled, lowering their wand's the Order Members led them into their headquarters.
"DADA," the excited scream met his ears, and his whole heart melted as he took in his Aquilla wriggling desperately to get out of Mrs Weasley's arms, her eyes on his.
"Come here sweetie," he said, rushing forward and taking her into his arms. Behind him he heard Hermione sniffle at the sight and Draco found himself smiling. The children were safe and soon they'd have them all home where they belonged.
