Shiro, Hunk, and Keith all spread out around the control panel, with Pidge hunched down behind it she would be out of harm's way while she focused. Lance was right there, he wasn't leaving her side no matter what. He had no doubt that the information was as valuable as she claimed, and it was coming with them when they left.

The fight was loud and even with the paladins using there bayards they were still outnumbered five to one. The shots from the sentries were making it difficult to get a shot fired out, and each one they hit was replaced by another. In a growl of frustration he took cover behind the control panel as he took aim with his bayard.

"Pidge, I'm not sure how much longer we can hold them." Shiro called over the comms.

"Just hold them for one more minute!" Pidge called back. She mumbled to herself as she watched the download bar inch closer to the end.

Lance picked off two and then another, Hunk knocked off a couple more and just when they all thought that this would be the end…."Let's go!"

With their shields still up they made a beeline for the door directly behind them. It led to a storage closet and the hole they had cut in the side of the ship. Lance was nearly to the door when Pidge's cry from behind him sounded.

He stopped and the other's behind paused as well. He could have sworn that Pidge was right behind him. Halfway between the control panel and the door Pidge had been grabbed by a sentry, her arm pinned behind her back. She grimaced as the sentry pressed her arm further back threatening to break it. Pidge gasped and just as Lance was about to come to her rescue, Pidge layed her blaster firmly against the sentries leg and jolts of electricity flooded through the robot.

Pidge was left gasping with a sparking sentry crumpled behind her. She met Lance's gaze with the flame that challenged him before, only this time it wasn't for him. She moved to head towards them keeping her head low as she attempted to avoid the sentries' blasts.

"Lance!" Shiro's voice drew his attention. And just for a split second he glanced back at his leader to respond.

That's when all hell broke loose.

Lance strolled into the kitchen making a bee-line straight for the cabinet with the coffee mugs. He had spent the night in the infirmary, more time was spent watching the sleeping form on the bed next to him then actually sleeping. And every movement was feeling the lack of sleep.

The coffee machine whirred to life, Lance placed the coffee pod into the machine once it quieted. He turned his back to the machine crossing his arms as coffee poured behind him. At the table Shiro met his gaze, his own cup of coffee sitting in front of him.

"You want to talk about it?" Shiro asked.

Lance turned his back to Shiro, "Not particularly." He added sugar and cream to his coffee before settling at the table.

"One of us could easily take a watch so you can catch up on sleep." Shiro said, watching as Lance rested his head in his hands.

Lance shook his head with a small groan. "I can handle it."

"No, Lance, You can't. I'm sorry but you look exhausted. You need sleep. One of the others can watch her tonight."

"No!" Lance dropped his hands to the table with a thud. His hardened gaze met Shiro's concerned one before softening. "I-I can watch her."

"You think this is your fault don't you." Shiro said as realization dawned on him. "Lance-"

"She might not remember anything because of me." Lance checked a non-existent watch before getting up from his chair. "I've already been away too long, I should get back." Abandoning his mug he headed for the door.

"Lance." Shiro said, following him in pursuit. Lance had moved down the hall and around the corner before Shiro had cleared the kitchen. Shiro stopped short in the door to the infirmary. In front of him Lance paused just a few feet inside the door. Shifting to the side Shiro managed to catch sight of Pidge who stood at the foot of the bed. Her fingers danced along the sheets in a nervous movement. Her eyes flicked between the two of them, the debate of whether or not she should make a run for it evident in her eyes.

"Pidge-"

"Who are you?" She cut Lance off. Her hand gripped the sheets in her fist.

Lance was frozen to the spot and Shiro stepped up next to him. The movement sent Pidge retreating a few steps placing the bed in between them.

"My name is Shiro." Shiro gestured to himself before placing a hand on Lance, "And this is Lance."

"Where Am I?" Pidge asked, her voice sounding more confident. Her grip on the sheets didn't release.

"We're on the Castle of Lions." Shiro replied. "We're-"

"Where's my dad, and my brother?" her eyes widened, "Kerberos. T-They went on a mission to Kerberos." Her eyes focused on Shiro. "You! You were with them."

"Yes I was But-"

"Where are they? Are they here?" She came out from behind the bed, her grip on the sheets releasing at the last second.

"Pidge I need you to listen-" Shiro couldn't get a word in edgewise.

"If you're alive then that means that they're alive too right?" She grabbed Shiro's arm, her grip tightened as she clung to him. Looking up at him with hopeful eyes. "Please tell me where they are."

"Pidge, They're not here." Shiro said. Before Pidge could ask another question Shiro launched into an explanation."

By the time Shiro was done Pidge had retreated to the bed, her face pale. "That can't be right." She said, shaking her head. "The last thing I remember is my dad and brother leaving with you."

"Pidge, are you alright?" Lance asked. He had broken from his frozen spell shortly after Shiro had started his explanation. He had given Shiro a look questioning whether or not he should be explaining everything to Pidge right at that moment. Now Lance was starting to think he should have gone and gotten Allura or Coran. Pidge was pale, too pale for his liking. He found himself gravitating towards her, instinct taking over as she tried to process the information given to her.

"I-I want to talk to Matt." She said finally. She rose from the bed and went to take a step. Lance caught her before she hit the floor, her head rolling towards his chest unconscious. Shiro took a step towards them as if to help but Lance stopped him with a look. His arms tightened around Pidge as he glared at Shiro, "You've done enough. Go get Coran." It came out in a growl and he wasn't sure what had come over him; the need to protect Pidge was overriding the respect he would have normally shown the black paladin.

Shiro gave him a sympathetic look, before leaving the infirmary, understanding plain in his eyes. At Least he understands. Lance thought as he looked down at Pidge. She looked so peaceful, the pain and confusion from earlier not currently evident on her face.

Gathering her in his arms he lifted her from the floor and placed her in the bed. He settled on the edge of the bed brushing a strand of hair from her face. He could only imagine the stress of having information being told to you about things that you have no recollection of. In this case the emotional stress was enough for her to lose consciousness.

Lance rubbed a hand over his face with a sigh. They should have talked about what there were going to do next, how they were going to break the news to Pidge. Maybe…Maybe then this wouldn't have happened.

His gaze flicked towards Pidge, his eyes welled with tears as he kept watch over her. He was beginning to be tired of seeing her more unconscious then awake. And then there was the issue of her memory, she seemed to have no recollection of the garrison forward. He supposed it was a plus that she recognized Shiro, but at the same time Lance wasn't too fond of the guy at the moment.

He leaned forward as if to press a kiss to her temple but stopped short. No. It wouldn't be right for him to kiss her when she had no recollection of their relationship. So instead he simply whispered.

"Please remember me, my love."
