Addie raised an eyebrow and gave this "Eddie" a once over, "Well Eddie Munson, Dungeon Master, I would never interrupt a man during his campaign. Please continue, I'll just sit by and watch."

Eddie's eyebrows knit together, clearly trying to determine whether Addie was making fun of him or not.

Dustin groaned, "Come on Addie, this won't be interesting to you."

Addie walked around the table and plopped down in Dustin's chair, "On the contrary Dusty dear, I am very interested in this." She looked towards Eddie and winked at him.

He shook his head but smiled softly, "She can stay Henderson. I don't want any more interruptions, let's go."

Dustin groaned but grabbed another chair and pulled it up beside Addie.

It only took a couple moments for everyone to get settled and for Eddie to jump back into his story. Addie had to give it to him, he knew how to tell a story. He was incredibly invested in the campaign and it was obvious he put a lot of work into his job as the DM. Addie found herself watching him almost the entire time. More than once when she managed to drag her attention away from him, she would look back to find his eyes on her as well.

She felt a shiver run down her spine. What the hell was that? She thought, but played it off as the excitement of watching the game, she hadn't played since her and her ex had broken up.

Finally they came to a spot in the campaign that everyone decided was a good breaking point.

Eddie gave a theatrical bow, then they packed up all their things and headed out of the school.

Addie walked alongside Dustin quietly as the others discussed everything that had happened in their session. When they reached the school parking lot Dustin turned towards Addie, "Wait, my mom brought you here right?"

Addie inspected her recently black-painted nails, "Yeah, why?"

Dustin looked between the guys, "Well, we all biked here. How were you planning on getting home?"

Addie had not in fact planned on how to get back to her aunt's house, but she shrugged nonchalantly, "I'll walk."

Dustin and what seemed to be his two best friends looked between each other, "You'll walk? Adelaide it's like past midnight. You can't walk on your own."

Addie snorted at this, "Dustin, if I can wander around Chicago at night by myself, I think I can handle Hawkins."

Dustin shook his head, "No, my mom would kill me if I let you walk alone. I'll just walk with you instead of biking."

Just then Eddie piped in from where he was standing behind him, "Or, I could drive her home. In case you forgot I am not an infant like the rest of you and I do in fact have a vehicle."

Dustin started to protest but before he could say too much Addie gave Eddie a shrug and said, "Sure, why not?"

"I don't want to bother Eddie..." Dustin said, his voice trailing off.

"It's fine. I have to go that direction anyways," said Eddie, raising his eyebrows jokingly at Addie.

Dustin sighed, "Fine. I guess that's fine." He grabbed his bike and started heading towards one of the two vehicles in the parking lot when Addie held her hand up to stop him.

"Um, where do you think you're going, Dusty?"

He looked between her and Eddie confused, "I'm going to Eddie's van. What do you think?"

Addie threw back her head and let out a harsh laugh, "Um, no, I don't think so. You ditched me on my first day in town. As punishment, you can bike home alone."

Dustin's two friends laughed behind them, but Dustin just looked exasperated, "What!? That's not fair."

Addie smiled sweetly at him and kissed the top of his head, "I think it's perfectly fair. See you at the house baby cousin." Then she turned on her heels and strutted towards the van parked in the lot.

Eddie laughed behind her and she heard him tell Dustin sorry before jogging after her.

He unlocked the van and slid into the driver's seat, watching Addie as she hopped up into the passenger seat. She looked around the contents of the van and nearly laughed. She hadn't wanted to stereotype Eddie before, but it truly did seem like he was the stereotypical metalhead stoner.

"What's so funny?" He asked her as he started the van.

"Nothing, just didn't expect to meet someone with your particular..." she paused as she gestured at the music collection, the pile of cigarettes, and discarded beer bottles, "...style, here in Hawkins."

"Ahhh..." Eddie smiled and looked around at his van as if seeing it through her eyes, "Well I'm sure you'll find out soon enough, but I'm known as the village freak around here."

Addie looked Eddie over and smiled, "What? You mean the town of Hawkins doesn't take well to your heavy metal rocker style? I am shocked. Let me guess, you're also the resident bad boy."

Eddie laughed, "Well that really depends on who you ask."

There was silence for a couple minutes as Eddie drove towards Dustin's house. Finally it was Eddie who broke the silence, "I couldn't help but notice when you barged in on my campaign, that you're wearing an Iron Maiden shirt."

Addie looked down at her shirt then back at Eddie, "I am, ever observant one, why?"

"Well you don't see many of those around here. Are you a fan?"

Addie suddenly felt defensive, "Is that so hard to believe? What, because I'm a girl I can't like metal? I'll have you know I have a wide taste in music and yes it so happens to include Iron Maiden and also -" She was cut off by Eddie holding his hand over her mouth. She hadn't even realized he had stopped the van.

"Easy firecracker, I never suggested that. I just haven't met many other fans in this area."

Addie was instantly regretful, but didn't want to show how embarrassed she was for her outburst, so instead she shrugged and turned away, wiping her mouth. "Yeah well, you never know. I've met a lot of asshole guys that think because I'm a girl I have to only like Madonna or Blondie. Which, don't get me wrong, I like them too, but like I said... wide taste in music."

"Hey, I might be the resident freak, but I'm not an asshole," Eddie said sincerely, looking at Addie.

Addie quickly looked away, "Yeah well, I have the whole year to determine whether that's true or not."

Eddie just chuckled and started driving again. They were nearly back at the house.

Addie cleared her throat and looked down at her shirt again, "My dad actually got me this shirt. He works with money or finances or something like that, and he has a lot of wealthy clients. Anyways, one of his clients works for Iron Maiden so my dad asked if he could get me a shirt from the band."

Eddie slapped his steering wheel, startling Addie. "You're fucking kidding me? Your dad has a connection with Iron Maiden?!"

Addie laughed, "Yeah, he works with a lot of music executives. He's always getting me band merch, it's pretty cool I guess."

Just then Eddie pulled into the Henderson drive way. He put the car into park and looked over at Addie.

She smiled awkwardly, "Well thanks for the ride stranger. I guess I should have been more hesitant to get into a creepy van with a guy I just met, but if Dustin trusts you I figured you couldn't be all that bad."

Eddie laughed, "Yeah your cousin's not half bad, I like the kid..." he trailed off, looking around as if trying to find something to say.

Addie cleared her throat, "Do you um, do you live this way then?"

"Nah," he replied, "I live in the trailer park. I'm just meeting a friend right away."

"Ooo, is it a late night lover?" Addie teased, smiling at him.

Eddie shook his head and laughed, "Nah, you think there's any girls in this town that are my type?"

Addie grinned at this, "Well... maybe there is now." She raised an eyebrow teasingly, opened the door and hopped out. "Bye Eddie Munson, dungeon master... I'm sure I'll be seeing you soon."

He smiled at her, raising an eyebrow back, "I'll see you soon...firecracker."

She closed the door and he reversed the van and sped off.

Maybe Hawkins wouldn't be as dull as Addie had thought it would be.
