The second half of the day went by smoothly. Before she knew it, the bell was ringing to signal the end of the day, and Adelaide was heading outside to wait for Aunt Claudia to pick her and Dustin up.

Aunt Claudia was not even a second late. As soon as Addie and her cousin stepped outside they spotted her pulling up to the pick up zone, waving with one hand wildly and smiling.

Addie waved back and said through gritted teeth, "Holy shit. I don't remember her being this peppy. Is she always like this?"

Dustin also waved at his mom and replied tersely, "You have no freaking idea." He smiled widely at his mom and hurried down to her van.

Dustin hopped into the passenger seat, meaning Addie was stuck in the backseat.

Aunt Claudia turned in her seat and grinned, "Soooo…. How was it? Was your first day as amazing as I told you it would be?"

"You were right, Aunt Claudia. It went just fine," Addie reassured her.

Dustin snorted and mumbled under his breath, "Yeah except when you told everyone you're a satanist."

Aunt Claudia whipped her head back around, "What was that?"

"Nothing," Addie and Dustin said simultaneously. When Aunt Claudia turned back to the steering wheel Addie reached up and pinched Dustin's neck.

"Ow!" He screeched.

"What's wrong?" Aunt Claudia asked worriedly.

"Nothing…" Dustin replied, "Just an annoying bug or something." He sent a glare at Addie through the mirror in front of him, she just stuck out her tongue in response.

"Oh Mom, I'm going to take Addie to the video store later. I want her to meet some more people."

"What a nice idea! You're such a sweetheart Dusty," Aunt Claudia reached across and pinched Dustin's cheek.

"Yeah yeah… I just want her to find someone else to bother instead of me."

After supper Aunt Claudia let Addie borrow her van to drive to the video store.

They had barely walked through the door when a voice called out, "Harrington! Your child is here."

The voice was coming from a girl with short, light brown hair standing behind the counter.

"Henderson!" came a yell from one of the stacks of movies. Addie turned to see a boy with messy brown hair. He looked to be around Addie's age, if not slightly older. Addie had to admit, he was very attractive.

"Harrington!" Dustin yelled back, a giant grin on his face. "Addie, this is Steve Harrington, and Robin Buckley." He gestured to the girl behind the counter.

"Steve, Robin, this is my cousin I was telling you about."

Steve walked over and leaned on the front counter. "Addie, is it?" he smiled at her, "Henderson didn't tell me his cousin received all the good genes in the family."

From behind the counter Robin snorted and rolled her eyes.

Addie smiled at Robin, "Is he like this with everyone that walks into the store?"

"Only the pretty female ones. He can't help it. It's like a disease," Robin replied with a chuckle.

Addie turned back to Steve, "Oh you poor thing, is there no cure?"

Dustin and Robin both laughed, Steve's face was just getting red.

"There is a cure," Robin added, "He could get a freaking girlfriend, or just get laid for once."

Addie snorted, "Sorry handsome, can't help you there."

Steve glared at the three of them, "Jesus Henderson, is everyone in your family such smartasses?"

Addie reached back and pulled Dustin in for a hug, "Nah, we're special."

Dustin pulled away, "Anyways, I told Addie I would introduce her to some people, since she'll be here for the year. Robin is in senior year too, she's in band."

Addie smiled at her, "Nice, love a musical chick."

"And I love any chick willing to tell off this idiot," Robin says and nods towards Steve.

"Oh great," Steve exclaimed, "So glad you two can bond over my failed love life. Lovely to meet you Dustin's edgy cousin, I am going to keep taking inventory and living the life."

Addie and Robin laughed, and Addie blew a kiss Steve's way as he walked away. Dustin followed after Steve. Once they were far enough away Addie turned back towards Robin and grimaced, "Do you think I actually hurt his feelings?"

Robin laughed, "Oh my gosh no, Steve's so used to me teasing him about girls. You might have bruised his ego a little bit, I'm sure getting shot down by a pretty girl wasn't a great feeling for him."

Addie cackled, she already liked this girl.

For the rest of that week Addie spent a lot of time with Robin. She had started sitting with her at lunch, and went to Family Video every evening to hang out with Steve and Robin. Steve had quickly gotten over his bruised ego and Addie found that he was really fun and easy to talk to.

There had been one or two times Addie had been sitting with Robin at lunch when she had looked over at Dustin's table and had found Eddie watching her intently. The first time he had looked away quickly, the second time Addie caught his eye and stuck out her tongue at him. He had smiled lightly and went back to talking with his friends.

It was now Friday and Addie was once again hanging out at Family Video, chatting with Robin.

The bell rang at the front entrance and Dustin, Mike, and Lucas walked into the store. "There you are!" Dustin exclaimed, gesturing at Addie.

"Here I am! What do you need?" Addie inquired.

"Do you think you could drive us to Hellfire Club? Lucas' bike broke, Mike's parents won't take us, and mom is with her book club tonight. She told me you had the van tonight and we could ask you to take us." Dustin pleaded, holding his hands together as if begging her.

Addie rolled her eyes, "I guess so… but only if I get to stay and watch. Isn't it almost the end of your campaign?"

"Yes we have like two more sessions so we can not miss tonight!" Mike exclaimed.

Addie sighed dramatically, "Fine… I guess I could spare some time. I think these two losers can survive without me."

Steve flipped Addie off and Robin just waved them off, "Have fun with the nerd herd."

Addie grabbed her backpack off the counter and led the boys out to the van. She made the boys stop at the local coffee shop first so she could have some caffeine to get her through the night.

They finally arrived at the school and Addie walked beside Mike into the school. She liked both of Dustin's friends a lot so far; Mike definitely talked to her more but Lucas was a huge sweetheart.

The four of them headed down to the basement and Dustin knocked on the club door, "Enter adventurers." She heard Eddie call out. She smiled, he really was a huge nerd.

They entered the room and all the boys looked up from where they were setting up.

"What the hell Henderson? No uninvited guests!" The boy Addie knew now to be named Gareth yelled.

Dustin held up his hands in defense, "She only agreed to drive us if she could stay and watch."

The other three boys started to protest but Eddie held up a hand, "It's fine. Firecracker can stay." Though he smiled at Addie, she thought he seemed a bit uncomfortable with her being there.

She pulled up a chair and placed it by Eddie. He shifted in his seat and Addie could have sworn he scooted away from her.

She leaned over to him and whispered, "Are you sure it's okay I'm here? I know some DM's are weird about people watching them."

Eddie shook his head and glanced over to her, "I don't tend to let outsiders observe… but I suppose I can make an exception for you princess."

Addie gave him an odd look, "Princess?"

Eddie nodded but didn't say anything in response.

They finally got started and Addie felt a rush as she watched them all play. She loved this game but hadn't played in so long, ever since everything happened with her ex.

Once again, she was enamored by how engrossed Eddie became in his role as dungeon master as they played. She found herself watching him more than the actual players. He had definitely caught her looking, but was too focused on the game to bug her about it.

After a couple hours they finally finished up. They had gathered their things and were walking back to the vehicles. The rest of the group were walking ahead, excitedly talking about the events of the night. Eddie had hung back and was walking beside Adelaide.

"So…" Eddie paused for a moment, "What did you think?"

"About what?" Addie teased, elbowing him in the ribs.

"About…that. The game." He explained.

"Ohhh… that. I think…that you are very good at your job as Dungeon Master."

Eddie smiled at that, "How would you know? Do you know a lot of Dungeons Masters?"

At this Addie's smile faded, she looked down at her shoes and cleared her throat, "Uh, yeah. Actually my last boyfriend was a DM as well."

Eddie was silent for a moment, "And? How do we compare?"

Addie grinned cheekily at him, "Oh, you are much better than him."

Eddie pumped his fist in triumph, he spun so he was walking backwards in front of Addie, "I'm probably better than him at a lot of other things too."

Addie's stomach fluttered, she was pretty sure he was flirting, but she was also fairly certain this is just how Eddie was.

She shrugged, "Maybe, I'll have to find out someday."

Eddie raised his eyebrows suggestively then went back to walking beside her. It was quiet for a couple moments before he spoke up again, "So you've been spending a lot of time at Family Video Dustin said. I'm guessing you've met Harrington?"

"Steve? Yeah, he's a super nice guy."

Eddie let out a "Hmph" sound. "Isn't he a giant tool?"

Addie squinted, "Eddie Munson, are you jealous of Steve Harrington?"

Eddie stopped walking abruptly, "No fucking way in hell am I jealous of Steve Harrington. I'm just surprised you would like someone like him so much."

Addie stepped up and poked Eddie in the ribs, "Now Eddie, I'm surprised someone like you is so judgemental."

"It's not that… it's just, he's such a player."

"Well he's nice to me."

Eddie looked away, clearly frustrated, "Okay, whatever." There was a moment of silence, "I'm guessing you don't need me to drive you home this time?"

She shook her head, "Nah, my aunt let me borrow her van tonight. Though I have to say, it is a bit of a downgrade. There are significantly less cigarettes and beer bottles in her van."

Eddie laughed, back to his regular laidback self, "Yeah, well…" They had both reached the parking lot. The rest of the boys were standing around the vehicles parked there, still talking excitedly. "I'll see you around, princess."

Addie smiled and flipped him off, "See you soon freak." She hopped into the van, honked the horn to signal to the boys to get in, and sped off.
