Binky, Molly, Rattles and the Dog Boy walk past the Sugar Bowl.

Binky said So I never saw that glasses kid again. Probably never will.

Arthur runs after them.

Arthur said Hey Binky! You dropped your pen when you ran out of school, kind of sideways, at the end of the day.

Molly said Here's the chance you've been waiting for.

Dog Boy said Show him, Binky! Pop him one!

Binky looks around at the Tough Customers who grin expectantly.

Binky gulps) He looks at Arthur, who holds the pen, and hits him on the arm. Arthur falls down.

Arthur said Ow!

Molly said Okay, you're right. He will hit anybody.

Dog Boy said All right Binky, you're still in the club! Binky? Where are you going? Hey, Binky!

Binky walks away.

Arthur said Ow!

Arthur sits beside the kitchen sink and his dad hands him an ice pack. And the next thing I knew, I was on the ground. It hurt, and it was embarrassing, and...

David said Well, maybe that's how D.W. felt when you punched her.

Arthur said Maybe. But what's that got to do with this? Binky Barnes is huge!

His parents look at him.

Jane said Don't you think D.W. thinks your huge?

Arthur said Maybe, but even so, 'all I did was return Binky's pen while D.W. broke my plane!

Arthur's parents look at each other.

Dave said True but I'm hoping that you learn something from this.

Something broke in Arthur's mind when he heard that, as he realized the two were all too willing to make excuses for D.W. and even Binky, but not for him. Come to think of it, he didn't even know how they punished D.W. but it wouldn't surprise him if they didn't.

Arthur (softly said I think I have.

Jane smiled said that's good.

Both parents walk away. As they did, Arthur was left alone.

This wasn't the first time he felt alone, but it has never felt like this before. Grabbing his sweater, Arthur jumped off the counter. He went up to his room closed the door to think.

Time passed but Arthur didn't feel any better. Strangely the better his arm started feeling the worse he felt as the pain was distracting him from the mess that his life was. Upon realizing that, an idea came to Arthur.

He then went to the bathroom to pull out a few things, a bandage, some antiseptic supplies including a few alcohol wipes, and one of his dad's spare razors. Afterward, he went outside and climbed up to his treehouse. Once Arthur got to the top, he stared at the view for a little while before taking off his sweater and laying everything out on his sweater. Then he took his father's razor and drew it across his forearm to make a small cut.

Arthur could only stare at the blood that came from the small cut. It hurt and yet it somehow took his mind off his loneliness. After a few movements, Arthur grabbed the rest of the supplies he brought and began to clean his cut. He did this once before when he got cut at the dump when he tried to cover up before D.W. talked him into telling Mom. Once he was done cleaning the cut, he wrapped Brown Bandage over it and place his sweater back on. Then he took an alcohol whip to clean his father's razor blade.

Once he finished cleaning the blade, put it back into his pocket and started to climb down and head for home. but that Night at Bedtime Arthur began to cry himself to sleep. The aardvark was surprised at how good it felt but he knew now was the time to act like everything was fine even though it wasn't.

...

The next day The world wanted him like this. Fine. He would be.

"Arthur!" Buster shouted.

Arthur merely walked past him.

"Arthur, please."

Arthur sneered, walking back to Francine and Muffy, gripping both of them by the collars of their shirts before throwing them into the wall.

Coldly, Arthur left them behind, deeply surprised at what he had just done but also not caring.

Muffy declared, "We did this. We made him into a monster."

Francine stared down. "We have to do something to get Arthur back to his old self."

Buster said agreed but What can we do"?

Fern said we can try talking to him after all we didn't get his side of the Story'" right"

All day, they tried to talk with Arthur, but he avoided all.

In class, they hadn't been able to talk, for he worked by himself on the project Mr. Ratburn had given them.

When it was time for everyone to eat lunch, Arthur snuck away without a sound and hid in the boy's bathroom nearby. He was well aware that someone might have seen him, but he hardly cared about it just like everything else. In one of the stalls, the aardvark opened his lunchbox and started dining on what had been prepared for him. Arthur knew that to carry out his Plan. he had to have tons of energy- that meant he had to eat something. He remembered that he had some money his parents had given him to buy his lunch from the cafeteria the previous day. He recalled predicting what would've happened if he had been in the cafeteria, searching for a place to sit and eat. That was the inspiration for him to sneak into the boy's bathroom and wait for the period to be over. It was dreadful for him to go without a meal for a short time, but it was worth it keeping himself distanced from everyone else.

At recess, the same happened. Eventually, it was time to leave. all of the students went outside, waiting for their respective rides, walking home, or choosing to talk with their siblings and friends.

"Okay, everyone," Brain announced. "I'm adamant that you all saw Arthur's meltdown. today I'm sorry to say this but I think He finally exploded under all the pressure. We have to go to the park right now and confront him about this."

And they all agreed, walking to the Park They knew one place where Arthur would be.

They approached the treehouse.

Francine knocked on the door. "Arthur, open the door."

"NO!"

"Arthur, if you don't open this door, we are going to break it down," Francine said

"You can try. It is locked." Arthur said

"Arthur, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for how we all treated you throughout the years and I'm sorry for what I'm about to do." alright just stand Back" please" Francine said

Arthur didn't respond.

Francine swing back her fist and slammed it against the door, breaking it. When they all entered the treehouse, they saw the most horrifying thing that they never thought possible: Arthur Read cowering in a corner, with a bloodied razor in his hand, and his clothes appearing ripped.

"Arthur!" Sue Ellen shouted.

"I need to end it," Arthur replied coldly. you aren't my friends nobody care Goodby"

Francine and Sue Ellen slammed against him, tackling him onto the floor while Muffy recovered the weapon. "George! Go get the Reads!" now

He followed as ordered, going to get Mr. and Mrs. Read,

Buster said um Guys Arthur's Parents can't fit inside the treehouse we have to get Arthur To the Ground'

Brain said you are Right Buster Lucky I have an emergency exit built now Plance Arthur on the Bed" we are heading down as he presses the emergency exit t button to for down once on the Ground

as Both Parents ran out of the Car with DW, seeing their family member was scared and shaken.

"Arthur! My baby...!" Mrs. Read exclaimed.

Both girls get off of him.

"Arthur..." DW said weakly.

"Now you care!" He growled.

"I'm sorry, Arthur!" DW cried, bending down next to her big brother. "I'm sorry."

"We all are." Mrs. Read agreed.

"You-you are?" Arthur asked weakly.

"Yes," Mr. Read replied.

There was a mutter agreement.

"I'm sorry too, for hitting you."

fade to Hospital ER room

a Nurse Bring Arthur in on a wheeled bed and close the privacy curtain Arthur has a hospital gown on now but his Clothes are in a Hostpes Bag by the Nurse Feet"

Jane said Yes was Arthur Timothy Read, brought here"

Nurse Stacy said yes but I had to sedative, him for a bite, and here are his clothes

David said thank you can we see our Son"

Nurse Stacy said yes but just for a bite he will be heading to Sugary soon"

...

Arthur opens his eyes and saw that the doctors and machines have been replaced with Jane, David, and D.W. along with Buster

Jane said "you're awake. How do you feel, Arthur?"

Arthur (Groggy "A little funny but mostly sleepy."

David said, "That's from the sedative, it only just started to wear off."

Arthur (Whispering "Hey D.W. and Buster, I'm okay."

Jane said "I don't understand, how Arthur could have done this under our watchful eyes!? I mean his first cut was a week ago, now his whole arm!" Buster, did he tell you why he was so depressed?"

Buster said "No Mrs. Read but we did have a little fight." yesterday afternoon

David said, "this has to be about the plane that D.W. broke weeks ago."

Buster said" um, I have to go. My mom will be worried. Just have Arthur call when he's ready."

Jane said, "Well we just have to wait and see what the doctor says first."

An hour later and Dr. Bailey walked into the room.

Dr. Bailey said: "Could I talk to Arthur alone please."

David said: "Sure, we will be in the waiting room."

Dr. Bailey said: "Arthur I'm here to help you. Please tell me everything that led up to all this and made you want to leaven this word. No 8-year-old should feel that way and I want to make it right."

Arthur said: "It's kind of hard to see you without my glass on. Where are they?"

Dr. Bailey said: "I give your glasses to your Parents for right now. You can't have anything sharp around you alright. But I am listing"

Arthur said: "Alright, it just seems like my parents always show favoritism to Dw... she got away with everything and I always seemed to be getting punished... but the final straw was when I told her several times that week not to touch my plane and yet she kept doing it until she threw it out the window and broke it. So, I lost my cool with Dw and I hit her lightly, but she made it seem like I hit her hard, and then she was crying like a 2-year-old and ran inside the house to mom. I wound up in trouble for it but Dw still could watch TV, so I know that she got off the hook as usual. Then when I returned Binky his pen he hit me in the arm and yet Mom and dad took D.W.'s side again with Dad saying he hoped I learn a lesson from Binky hitting me, yet Dw didn't learn anything at all. I'm getting tired can we stop talking now please"

Dr. Bailey said" Sure Arthur, you did the right thing by telling me this and I am proud of you for it. For now, just take it easy. I will be in and out of the room throughout the night to check in on you."

Arthur said" Alright Dr. Bailey"

In Dr. Bailey's office: "I have just spoken with Arthur and I want to keep him here overnight to make sure he is stable, you can take Arthur home in the Moring but you both have to keep a sharper eye on him"

Jan said: we are going to keep Arthur home for the next week and I am taking a week off from work. I can have his school email me his homework and he can do it in my home office in the second living room so I can keep an eye on him while my husband is out catering and Dw is at Preschool till lunchtime."

Dr. Bailey said: "good if he talks about harming himself again call me. He can wear his glass but at bedtime, you have to take his glass off and take it with you. This is an appointment card for his next one on one session with me and this is the contact information of Dr. Carole, she is a therapist who is great with kids and finally, a prescription for mild tranquilizers one tablet every six hours for the next few days or until you and husband feel that Arthur mood has even out; it will make Arthur wanted to sleep more but that is a good thing for now"

Jan said: "We been doing so well in till the plane accident, that is when Arthur Mood started to change."

Dr. Bailey said" "Arthur mentioned D.W. wasn't in trouble for the plane incident?"

David hesitantly said: "...Well no"

Dr. Bailey said: "Mr. Read, if Dw can break something, then she is old enough to be grounded for it. You and your wife are setting your daughter up for the wrong path in life. Furthermore, your blatant favoritism to the point where you're justifying a bully's unprovoked attack on your son to side with your daughter has left Arthur with a severe depression disorder. Either you make changes to your family or I will have them removed from your care for their sake."

Jan said: "We almost lost him today, can we see Arthur before we Head home, please?"

Dr. Bailey said: "Sure you have a few minutes, and Mr. Reader I would suggest to please keep your Razors out of Arthur's reach once he goes home."

David said, "I know that now, thank you Dr. Bailey." as they headed to Arthur's room.

Jane walks up to Arthur's bed, gently shaking him: Arthur?

Arthur wakes up: "Hmm Mom, dad."

Jan said: "Arthur sweetheart, me and your Father are leaving now'?

Arthur Whispering: "oh alright."

David said: "You will be able to go home tomorrow, but we should have listened to you about Binky but don't forget your friends are pretty shaken up from today."

Arthur said: "I never meant to scare them, dad. I m sorry, I won't do it again."

Jan said: "We know you won't but Arthur why didn't you come to talk to us. We're always here to listen, you know that right?

Arthur said: "Yes I know Mom." Looks around the room. "Great, no phone in this Room. I will have to call Buster tomorrow afternoon. Wait, if I am here then where is Pal?"

Jan said: "Don't worry Grandma is watching Pal and Katie at home for us now. goodnight dear, I love you."

David and Jane then walk to the Nurse station: "You have our house number if anything happens please called us."

Nurse Stacy said: "I will but Arthur is in the best of hands-on this floor, Ms. Read. No need to worry."

David said: "DW time to go. We have a few things to talk with you about in the car"

Once D.W. was buckled into her car seat

Jan said: "D.W. there will have to be some changes around the house now."

D.W. said: "why?"

Jane said: "It's about Arthur's plane and what happened today."

David said: "First of all, we'll be doubling your allowance-"

DW said: "Really?"

David said: "Yes! But we need to discuss some consequences for your actions, you will be doing some chores and you are only earning that money to pay back Arthur the 20 dollars he spent on his last plane."

DW said: "Chores?! But he hit me and he built the plane all wrong!

"

Jane said: "We understand he hit you. But you were told by Arthur to not touch it several times, but you didn't listen. Just because he's your brother, not the parent, doesn't mean you don't have to listen to him. You need to learn your lesson as well."

DW said: "But-"

David said: "No buts, you need to learn to listen to others when they told you "no" and you need to respect others' property and boundaries. So starting tomorrow no TV for a week.

DW said: "but Mary moo-cow is on tomorrow I'm sorry! I am"

Jane said: "D.W. no buts about it. we made our mind up." As they pull into the Driveway of the House.

Jane unbuckled D.W. From the Car seat while Dave went inside where to meet Grandma Thora who was holding Kate.

Grandma Thora said: "Back so soon, how is Arthur?"

Jan said: "Well they're keeping Arthur overnight and we will need your help in watching Kate for a while."

Grandma Thora said: "Of course."

David said: "Thanks, Mom. we are picking Arthur up after we take D.W. to preschool tomorrow. then I have to get this prescription filled after I drop Jan and Arthur back at home."

Late In the kitchen after D.W. was sent to bed.

Jane said while washing the dishes: "What if we had been at work, Arthur could have…? Oh, I can't bear to see Arthur in some much pain. He was fighting those paramedics all way to the Hospital. I have never heard Arthur yell this much since he was a baby… By the time we saw him in the ER, they had him sedative when they had to do emergency surgery on his left arm. Then we weren't given any updates until an hour later but when finally saw Arthur on the 6th floor he didn't come around in till a few hours later and even then, he was pretty out of it.

Grandma Thora said: But you both were Home. that all matters is that you were home Jane and David. And if you two are feeling guilty about not being home enough well I'm here to remind you both that you have jobs, thank you very much"

David said: "Yes but what about our own kids' lives. One of us will have to stop work to be home for their sake. Also, regarding Arthur's babysitting job what were we thinking? He is only eight-year-old for Pete's seek. We should have known better to let him be babysitting at such a young age."

Transitions back to the Hospital, specifically Arthurs Room 208

Arthur could hear all sorts of sounds as he lay in his bed and just wanted to go home but tried to make the best of it by hiding under his pillow while thinking how they will let him go home tomorrow.

The next morning after Drop D.W. off at Preschool

Jan said: "I already call Mr. Herb Haney this Morning and let him know the situation with Arthur and he hopes Arthur will get well soon."

David said: "Great, thank you, Jane. I think Arthur is awake now."

Jane said: I still have Arthur's glasses with me. Along with a shirt and the blue shorts that he wears when we go to the beach." in the summer

David said: "Right, the pants Arthur normally wears have a belt around it."

After parks in the Hospital Parking lot, they go up to the 6th floor and wait.

Dr. Bailey said" "Mr. and Mrs. Read, Arthur been asking for your two all morning since 7:20 am. He will be a bit tired when he gets home but that is normal with patients that are out of the hospital, so don't worry if he wants to take a little nap, it's fine. Just have a cup of water on his desk in a non-breakable cup for now."

David said: "Alright."

TRANSITION TO:

INT. ARTHUR'S ROOM - DAY

Arthur has just gotten home from the hospital. He is in his pajamas and is climbing into bed. for a little Nap

David take his glasses off "Your Mother is downstairs if you need her"

Arthur said" Sure Dad but why can't you leave my glasses on my nightstand?"

David said Have a nice nap, Arthur. I love you."

As David headed to the Kitchen: "Arthur is asleep now. He wanted me to leave his glasses on his Nightstand and I used one of Kate's sippy cups for the water."

Jane said: You didn't leave his Glass upstairs did you?

Davide said: "No Jane. here, I brought Arthur glasses down with me."

Jane said: "Thank you. I will keep them here until Arthur awakes up. Maybe it is time we get Arthur a cell phone, that way he can call us, or we can call him."

David said: A cell phone isn't a bad idea. okay, so prescription and more non-breakable cups. I won't belong."

Jane said: "Alright Dear."

TRANSITION TO:

That afternoon, Arthur sits on the couch at home wearing pajamas. He drinks apple juice and eats crackers while watching TV.

TV: "The Bionic Bunny Show!"

D.W. said: "I'm home!" She comes in and stands in front of the TV. "Why are you watching your show if I can't watch Mary Moon cow?"

Arthur said: "Mom put it on for me D.W., you are blocking."

D.W. said: "Oh, I see. Big test tomorrow? Or did Binky threaten to crush you?"

Arthur said: "For your information, I have to see Dr. Bailey in a few weeks."

D.W. said: "Uh-uh, sure. She walks out of the room

Mrs. Read comes in with a tray for Arthur.

A short while later, Arthur eats from his tray on the couch, while D.W. sits at the dinner table.

D.W. said: "Why do I have to eat the table?"

Mrs. Read said: "Because you're not sick." Mr. Read serves spinach.

D.W. said: "Blech! Spinach? She watches Arthur. How come Arthur doesn't have to eat spinach?"

Mr.+Mrs. Read said: "Because he's sick!"

D.W. said: "He's not sick!" (sticks out tongue at Arthur, Arthur blows raspberry)

D.W. chuckles: "Heh, heh." She tries to look innocent while her parents stare at her.

D.W. said: but Arthur was watching tv and I don't"?

Jane said: "Yes I know D.W. but I needed to keep Arthur preoccupied when I was on the phone with my Office"

INT. THE BOTTOM OF THE STAIRS - MORNING

Arthur is walking down the stairs when the phone rings.

He runs down the remaining stairs and answers the phone.

ARTHUR said: "Hello?"

Buster said: "Arthur? You still alive?"

ARTHUR said: "I know, It's terrible! it seem like everyone had been watching me and I'd just been sitting at home! or when Kate cried, Mom was busy so I ran up to D.W. and Kate's Bedroom. Mom was upstairs in like 10 seconds and I was already done changing Kate."

BUSTER said: "Well, that doesn't sound so bad."

ARTHUR said: "It wasn't at first, but it got boring after a few days."

BUSTER said: "Any idea when you'll be able to go back to school again?"

ARTHUR said: "Actually, we're going to the Doctor's office soon to have them check me over. Hopefully, they'll tell me that I can go to school again."

BUSTER said: "That's great! Tell me how it goes."

Fade in to a physician's examining room.

Arthur is sitting at the table in the middle of the room.

Jane, and David, .sit in chairs in the room.

Dr. Bailey enters: "How Have you been holding up?"

Arthur said: "A lot better than before"

DR. Bailey said: "Well, let's take a look." Examines Arthur's with a few general checks, similar to a normal checkup. "Well Arthur, I would have to say I see no cuts anywhere. Your throat, nose, and eyes look fine.

Arthur said: "So can I go back to school now?"

DR. Bailey said: "Arthur look for right now you can see your friends outside of school but till you see Dr. Carole, you will have to keep doing your School under your Mom's watchful eyes for right now."

Arthur said alright: "Dr. Bailey but can I still head to the Sugarbowl? That is where my friends hang out."

Dr. Bailey said, "Yes you can Arthur."

that afternoon with Arthur at the Sugar Bowl

Jane said: "Yes Dr. Carole's office please."

Dr. Carole said: "Hello this is Ann Carole how can I help you?"

Jan said: "Yes Dr. Bailey recommends you for our son Arthur Timothy Read, he was hospitalized for severe depression disorder that involved self-harm.

Dr. Carlo said," Well I have an opening at 2 pm next Monday for the first visit you and your husband can come and bring any paperwork Dr. Bailey give you."

Jan said: "Thank you we will. Bye."

that Follower Monday Jane was driving Arthur to the hospital wanting him to go see Dr. Carole.

Arthur said: "I can't believe you're making me do this Mom and dad! I was Planning to meet Buster at the Suger bowl!

Jan said: "This isn't a punishment, Arthur Dr. Carole is a therapist. you can go to talk about what you've been through."

Arthur said: "I don't wanna talk about it, Mom. I just wanted to see my friends. I wanted things back to normal again"

David said: "Then don't talk about it! Just go and listen! We can't pretend this didn't happen, it happened, and you need help! And there is nothing wrong with asking for help

Jan begins to cry] It's really hard to see you in this much pain! And I am scared that you're gonna try this again! without us knowing Arthur. You've put so much into life. Your life is precious. Please."

Arthur said: "Fine, okay, I'm going! but I'm walking to the Suger bowl once we are home again Mom." Gets out of the car and goes inside the hospital. Jan cries hard.

David said Jan this just the First Meeting"

Jan said I know but Arthur is only 8 years old"

David said we better catch up with Arthur" you have the Paperwork"

Jan said yes' Let go"

Arthur said: "I can't believe Mom and dad made me do this might as well get it over with sight" as he headed for the 6th floor. "

an hour late the Reads sit in the therapist's office for the first visit.

David said: "He's been jumpy and having trouble sleeping."

Dr. Carlo said: "I think that was a good idea."

Arthur said: "I'm fine. Really. You guys don't have to worry about me."

Dr. Carlo said: "You know what, why don't you let Arthur and I talk alone for a little bit? Would that be okay with you, Arthur?"

The parents leave the room.

Arthur said: "Um alright"

Dr. Carlo said: "Okay"

Arthur said: "I'm not crazy, you know."

Dr. Carlo said: "Who said anything about being crazy? Arthur's depression can't be taking Lightly' it takes time to come out of Severe depression can't be brushed off. How do you feel right now?"

Arthur said: "Great... Okay, a little nervous, I guess."

Dr. Carlo said: "So tell me, what was it like when you first cut your knee. kind of shocking, right?"

Arthur said: "It was fine. I try to cover it but D.W. made me tell Mom about it.'"

An hour later, Arthur said: "It just seems like my parents always show favoritism to D.W... she got away with everything and I always seemed to be getting punished... but the final straw was when I told her several times that week not to touch my plane and yet she kept doing it until she threw it out the window and broke it. So, I lost my cool with D.W. and I hit her lightly, but she made it seem like I hit her hard, and then she was crying like a 2-year-old and ran inside the house to mom. I wound up in trouble for it but D.W. still could watch TV, so I know that she got off the hook as usual. Then when I returned Binky his pen, he hit me in the arm, and yet Mom and dad took D.W.'s side again with Dad saying he hoped I learn a lesson from Binky hitting me, yet D.W. didn't learn anything.

I mean some days I just feel drained. I don't get joy from what I love to do. I feel lifeless, and everything has become meaningless. I don't know why I'm so sad or can't even feel glad. I've never felt this way before. Is that clock right? Have I been talking for an hour?

Dr. Carlo said: "Yeah, time flies when you're having fun, huh? And when you're in therapy. How are you feeling now?"

Arthur said: "Better. Hey, maybe I'm cured!" moves to the edge of the couch. Dr. Carlo closes the door, "Sorry about my Draught Arthur." Then Dr. Carlo sits down beside Arthur.

Dr. Carlo said: "Arthur, listen. It's gonna take a little time to feel like your old self is aging It's not easy the first time you get truly depressed. Even the happiest people can become depressed."

"Depressed?" Arthur Asked

"Sometimes, even when things are at their most content on the outside, inside, we are still not as happy as we make ourselves out to be. I'm convinced that when Binky hit you it took a lot out of you. right?" Dr. Carlo said

"I'm confused and sad. I know it all worked out in the end. Yet I feel anxious it might happen again. All of it was overwhelming. So much terror, anxiety, and rage. It isn't easy to process it all. Arthur said

Dr. Carlo said: "Arthur is sad and truly depressed aren't the same thing. Depression affects you physically as well as emotionally. It will take an unknown time to figure out how to pull yourself out. Don't expect it to be an overnight thing. Sometimes all you need is someone willing to listen but not judge."

"Like you're doing right now? " Arthur said with a little smile

"Yes, if you need to talk, I'm here. It doesn't just heal overnight. You'll have to do that on your own. Remember though. You'll do it in your own time. For now, try writing down how you're feeling. I have a Notebook that I want you to write in and I will check it over the next time"

Arthur said: "I would but Mom has my pencils in her office. She is worried I may start cutting again."

Dr. Carol said: "It's easy to slip back to old habit Arthur, but we're gonna work on this together, okay?"

Arthur nods.

Dr. Carlo said: "Good now head to the waiting room so I can talk to your parents."

Jane said: "How did it go?"

Dr. Carlo said: "This will be a bumping road to recovery for Arthur. Some days he will be fine and will want to hang with his friends and other days he may not sleep thought out the night and will want to sleep in a little. So for right now keep his glasses with you at night but if Arthur makes improvements from now until April 5th then I will talk to Dr. Bailey about trying to bring Arthur back into a classroom setting."

David said: "Sounds like a plan."

Jane said: "Yes, he has been doing great so far."

And I say hey! (Hey!)

What a wonderful kind of day

If we could learn to work and play

And get along with each other

You gotta listen to your heart, listen to the beat

Listen to the rhythm, the rhythm of the street

It's a simple message,

And it comes from the heart

Oh, believe in yourself, (believe in yourself)

For that's the place to start (place to start)

And I say hey! (Hey!)

What a wonderful kind of day,

If we could learn to work and play
