* Hi guys! I apologize in advance for how short this chapter is compared to the last few. This is very much a filler chapter, and should get back to fun Eddie/Addie banter next chapter :) Please leave a review and tell me your thoughts! *
Addie had Eddie drop her off at Family Video after they left the woods. When they pulled up to the video store Addie went to hop out but Eddie grabbed her arm to stop her.
She paused and looked back at him, "How about next time we study half the time, and work on building your character the other half?"
Addie smiled at him, "Sounds like a plan, freak. I'll see you at school tomorrow."
He nodded and watched as she got out and hurried into the store.
Addie swung open the door and found both Steve and Robin standing at the checkout counter staring at her.
"Adelaide, do my eyes deceive me, or did you just get out of Eddie Munson's van?" Robin asked incredulously.
Addie rolled her eyes and threw her backpack down by the counter, "I told you I was helping him study, didn't I?"
"Yes," Robin confirmed, "But we assumed you were just meeting for an hour or two after school or something. I also did not expect you to be driving around town with him."
Steve had his arms crossed and was giving Addie a withering stare, "Be careful with him Wolff," - Steve was the only person who called Addie by her last name - "I know Henderson thinks he's the shit, but he's pretty messed up."
Addie smirked, walked over to Steve and gave him a kiss on the cheek, "Oh Steven, you are such a mom."
He wiped his cheek and glared at her, "Yeah, whatever."
Robin laughed then turned to Addie, "Are you still coming over for supper? I told my mom you would be, and we're gonna be done here in like 20 minutes."
Addie nodded, she had spent a decent amount of time recently at Robin's house, and had grown to really like her family. "Yup, I told Aunt Claudia I'd be at your house for supper so we're all good."
Steve looked between the two of them, "Seeing as neither of you have a vehicle, I'm assuming I am expected to drive you both?"
Both girls turned to look at him and smiled sweetly. Robin said in the sweetest voice she could muster, which was hard for her seeing as she was being sarcastic majority of the time, "I'll let you stay for supper if you do. You can join us for girl talk."
Steve sighed, "And what makes you think I want to be a part of girl talk?"
Addie smirked, "Come on Steve, you know you want to."
He closed his mouth tightly and breathed out his nostrils in frustration, "Yeah, fine. I'll come."
After Robin and Steve had closed up the store, Steve drove all three of them to Robin's house. They ate supper and then excused themselves to go hang out in Robin's room.
Robin closed the door behind her, which her parents only permitted if Addie was there as well (they were unaware of their daughter's sexuality).
Robin spun around, "Okay spill, what the hell is going on with you and Eddie?"
Steve had sat himself down in an armchair in the corner, "What the hell are you on about? She told us they're just studying."
Robin sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, "Oh Steve, you are so naïve when it comes to women."
"Come on!" He protested, "Addie, tell her I'm right."
Addie just looked down at her feet and bit her lip guiltily.
"See?!" Robin yelled, pointing at Addie, "I'm right aren't I?"
Addie groaned and put her hands over her face, "Okay… we may have made out a little bit-"
Robin clapped her hands together loudly and laughed, while Steve threw up his hands in frustration.
"- but that's it! I swear! It's not going to go farther than that!" Addie promised.
Steve held up a hand in front of himself, "Wait, but do you want it to go farther than that?"
Robin looked at Addie expectantly but Addie just groaned and laid back on the bed, "I don't know! I mean it's been awhile… it might be nice."
"Jesus," Robin muttered, "If you need to get some so badly I'm sure Steve would gladly step in. We both know he's just as deprived."
"Ew no!" Both Steve and Addie exclaimed, scrunching up their noses in disgust.
Robin held up her hands defensively, "I'm just saying, then both of you could stop dealing with so much drama."
Addie shook her head, "It's not drama. We just made out, it's no big deal. We're just study partners… and he's letting me be a part of his Hellfire Club."
Steve crossed his arms, "I'm telling you this now Wolff, I guarantee you Eddie wants more than just some make out session."
"You have no way of knowing that," Addie said back.
He shrugged in a 'whatever you say' way, but didn't continue on.
"Can we discuss something else now?" Addie pleaded, "Robin, any progress with that band chick?"
The three of them spent a couple hours sharing stories; though the majority of the time was spent with Addie and Robin bothering Steve about his love life.
Finally it was time for Steve and Addie to head home. They said goodbye to Robin's parents on the way out then hopped in Steve's car. As they drove Addie rolled down the window and sang along to a song on the radio.
When they were almost at the house, Steve turned the radio down so Addie would stop singing.
"Hey," Steve said.
"Yes?" Addie asked, knowing he was going to say something about the Eddie situation.
"It's just, you know I've only known you for like a month, but you're Henderson's cousin and I care about you, you know that right?"
Addie smiled , "Yes, I know."
Steve nodded slightly, "Good. It's just that, if you like Eddie, I support you. He's the luckiest son of a bitch if you do."
Addie laughed, "That is very sweet Steve, but like I said, we were just messing around."
They had just pulled up to the house so Steve slowed down and put the car into park. He looked over and studied Addie's face, "Sure…if you say so."
She stuck her tongue out at him, "I say so you dork. Thanks for the ride." She squeezed his hand, hopped out the car and headed inside, waving to Steve before she closed the door .
Aunt Claudia was sitting on the couch watching her nightly soap opera, Addie walked up and gave her a kiss on the head, "Hi Auntie. Did you have a good night?"
"Oh hi sweetie, I hope you had a good night!" She was too invested in her show to really pay attention to what Addie had said.
Addie walked down the hall towards her bedroom; as she passed Dustin's room she could hear noises coming from the room. She paused outside the door and leaned in to hear better. From what she could tell, Dustin was talking to his girlfriend Suzie.
Addie knocked lightly and opened the door; Dustin was laying on his bed talking into his weird long distance radio he had created specifically to talk to Suzie on. Addie poked her head in, "Hey, say hi to Suzie for me," she said quietly.
Dustin waved at her in acknowledgement, and spoke into his radio, "Yeah that was Adelaide, she says hi."
"Oh, hi Adelaide!" Addie heard Suzie's voice over the radio. She smiled and waved, closing the door behind her. She had only spoken to Suzie once over the radio a couple weeks ago, but she seemed like a sweetheart, and Dustin liked her a lot, so Addie approved.
She went to her room, dumped her bag on the floor, and started getting ready for bed. She threw on her favorite sleep shirt and shorts, threw up her hair, and went to the bathroom.
As she was standing in the bathroom brushing her teeth, Dustin came out of his room and stood in the doorway, "Were you with Eddie again today?"
Addie was washing her face when Dustin spoke, so she took a moment to splash water on her face before standing upright and answering Dustin, "Yeah, we were studying again…why?"
Dustin crossed his arms, "And he's letting you join Hellfire?"
"Yes…is that okay?"
Dustin looked down at his feet, "Is that all?"
"Dude, are you going to keep answering my questions with more questions?" Addie asked with a laugh, "What do you mean is that all?"
Dustin tore his gaze away from the floor to look at Addie, "I mean… is that all you two are doing? Or is there something else going on? Because I really don't want you two to date and then break up and then Eddie won't want me to be in Hellfire because I'm your cousin or some shit like that."
Addie snorted and turned back to the mirror, "Don't worry Dusty, you do not have to worry about us dating. I have absolutely no desire to date."
Dustin narrowed his eyes suspiciously, so Addie held up her pinky finger, "I pinky promise, okay?"
Dustin kept his eyes narrowed but locked his pinky with hers and shook it.
"Fine, but you better kick ass in Hellfire."
"Oh I will," Addie confirmed, "I'm going to get Eddie to help me build my character. You and I will be the most kick ass D playing cousins of all time."
Dustin grinned and did a little happy hop, "Hell yeah we will! Okay, hurry up, I need to shit."
"Ew, that's disgusting Dustin," Addie exclaimed, but she laughed in spite of herself.
When Addie was finally all done, she curled up in bed and tried her best to fall asleep. Unfortunately, her brain wouldn't stop replaying her kiss with Eddie in the woods. After a half hour she grabbed her headphones and walkman off the floor and blasted the music, focusing on the lyrics to force herself to think of something else. It took her another half hour to finally fall asleep.
As she drifted off she prayed that she wouldn't end up screwing up Hellfire for Dustin somehow like she screwed up her last experience playing D .
