Year 3
Chapter 1
Sirius watched his husband and son race across the grounds with the other wolves. The Greyback pack welcomed Harry with open arms and Sirius was thankful for that. After two weeks he watched the most important males in his life get closer and renewed the bond they share.
Now it was their first full moon together as a pack. It should have been sooner, but Harry and Remus weren't ready. Sirius was happy that Harry's wolf transformation was easy, it made Remus' transformation easier than it had ever been. The animagus looked at the two wolves, one tawny with streaks of grey and the other black and tawny. It warmed his heart to see them romp around and being happy.
Sirius knows both Harry and Remus are not looking forward to the start of the new term. He and Remus are worried about sending Harry back to Hogwarts. The news of Dumbledore's escape arrived just before they left Malfoy Manor. Their first thought was take Harry and run, but Harry told them that running wouldn't solve anything. Sirius with Severus and Remus wouldn't listen to reason, Fenrir who had arrived back that day made them see reason. Told them that Dumbledore doesn't know Harry's status, whether he's alive or dead after Vernon attacked Harry.
So a plan was made, or so they thought. Sirius, Remus, and Severus agreed to send Harry to Hogwarts as Harland Romulus Prince. Harry would be listed as Severus' French cousin who's father was Lord Prince's great nephew. Dumbledore couldn't contest it because Severus really does have Prince relatives in France, they just aren't from the main branch. The Goblins at the France Gringotts will provide false paperwork and inform the Prince family. Also added to the plan, Sirius' idea, when things with Dumbledore ends Harland Prince will disappear, Harry Potter will stay dead and Harrison Prince will appear happily married to Severus Snape-Prince. Harry hated that plan and made his own.
The Black-Lupin parents will protect their cub with their life. Dumbledore won't stand a chance or have any success of gaining control of their son.
Before leaving they owled McGonagall, asking her to meet them at Spinner's End. Once she settled in Severus, Remus, and Sirius told her everything that happened with Remus and Sirius. When they were done the older woman was cursing in Gaelic, her brogue was thicker than normal. She in turn told them that the Ministry was sending Dementors to the school, so they made a plan. Remus will teach DADA with Sirius as his assistant. Sirius will be able patrol the halls during classes and at night. After she left Fenrir stepped into the room and told them that he and the pack will patrol the lands of Hogwarts.
Everyone will be alert and Dumbledore will be caught again.
(*v*)
Harry was happy to be with his fathers, grandfather and the Greyback pack. He was also upset that Severus and his aunt wouldn't be spending the summer with him. He vowed that one day every member of his family will be together all year round.
The start of the summer may have been terrible, but it was changing into something wonderful. His fathers were going to be at Hogwarts with him. His grandfather and new pack will be there as well. Harry wasn't worried about Dumbledore being on the loose. He knew the man would get caught again. After all the man was a creature of habit. Harry knew Dumbledore would be too focused on getting his power back to see his arrest coming. Dumbledore will forget that people know who his supporters are, making it easier to eliminate his support before going after the man. No, Harry wasn't worried about Dumbledore.
The only thing Harry hated about the plan was faking his death. He didn't want to be someone else. So he took it upon himself to fight the adults all summer to change the plan. Harry had a great plan, one that will benefit them and their side. If the adults don't listen Harry will go to Gringotts and set everything up himself.
(*v*)
August first came too soon. Harry reluctantly said good-bye to the pack. He had learned so much from them and saw them as family. He was so grateful they accepted him into the pack.
Harry and his fathers left the pack just as Guinevere and her parents showed up. Fenrir had told Harry that they were going to hide Argus. Argus, when he arrived told Harry he was against the whole idea, but his daughter and wife ganged up on him and he couldn't tell them no. Harry hugged the man and told him that they will all be together again. Together in a world where Dumbledore does not rule or be around to ruin their happiness. Argus just smiled and responded with a 'make him pay'. Harry promised that Dumbledore will feel it until his last breath.
After lunch the Black-Lupin family left via port-key, landing in the foyer of Malfoy manor. Lucius greeted them before leading the family to the sitting room. Draco had jumped up and hugged Harry while shooting off a bunch of questions. Harry answered the best he could as he untangled himself from Draco's limpet form.
"Draco, dear, let Harry breathe and settle in before you ask more questions." Narcissa cut in with a soft smile.
"Yes, mother." Draco pouted. He had missed his friend.
"Hello, Cissy. How are you?" Harry politely asked as he sat next to Draco on the sofa.
"I'm fine, Harry. How was your trip?"
"Excellent. The pack was very welcoming. I didn't want to leave, but I missed you all."
Narcissa smiled warmly at the teen. "We missed you too. Are you ready for your second trip?"
"Yeah!" Harry exclaimed. "What time will Severus be here?"
Narcissa gave him a sad smile. "He didn't send you an owl?"
"No. The last owl I got was my birthday present."
"Oh, Harry." She gave him a sad look. "Severus sent an owl here apologizing. He can't leave the conference. There was a debacle between two Masters about stealing, and Severus says he has to be one of judges."
Harry felt deflated. He really wanted to see Severus, this will be their first summer apart since they met. He wasn't completely upset, he understood that his husband had other responsibilities. Harry wouldn't begrudge his husband for wanting to spend time with others his age. After all Severus encourages Harry to spend time with his friends.
"That's alright. He'll meet us there if he can." Harry gave her a reassuring smile. "Good. Now let's go." Sirius exclaimed.
Barbados was really beautiful. Crystal blue water as far as the eye could see. White sandy beaches that looked inviting and made you want to stay all day. The local attraction had charm, promising a good time. Putting it all together they were looking at a great vacation that might be too tempting to leave.
The house was two stories and completely muggle. Since it only had three bedrooms Harry and Draco had to share the room, not that the teens minded. The adults on the other hand argued over who would get the master bedroom. So Harry flipped a knut, Lucius and Narcissa won, Sirius complained for a good hour until Remus pointed out the privacy they would have with the downstairs bedroom. After they unpacked they went to dinner where Narcissa was able to get people to sing 'Happy Birthday'. Harry had glared at the woman after they were finished, his glared was switched to his fathers when they had laughed.
Their official day they split, so every pair can do what they wanted. Remus and Sirius had decided to rent a boat and go sailing for morning. Lucius and Narcissa travelled around the island. Harry and Draco spent the day at the beach. At lunch they met up at the diner that was close to the house. They spent the hour talking about their morning. When they split up again Harry and Draco went hunting for potion ingredients. They didn't pick anything, but marked the area so that they could come back before leaving the island.
Once the hunting trip was finished they went back to the house. The teens watched the television for the next two hours until they had to meet their parents for dinner.
"Harry?" Draco spoke not looking away for the television.
Harry looked at his friend. "Yeah, Dray."
"Are you worried about Dumbledore?"
"No. The man doesn't have any power anymore. All he has is loyal sheep who are stupidly ruining their lives."
"Ry, why did that potion work? You and Uncle Sev said that you had protective spells on you and he gave you a potion to counteract any one you unwillingly take."
"I looked it up because I wanted to know as well. Apparently for some odd reason when your body is in a panic it caused the potion to work. The protective potion couldn't do it's job because it couldn't tell if the potion Vernon gave me was willing or forced."
"Why didn't the protective spells work?"
"For the same reason. Vernon had slit my throat so my body went into overdrive with panic and distress. My core and magic didn't know how to react to the situation with the dual reactions to save me from Vernon before he forced me to drink the potion."
Draco twisted around to hug Harry tightly. He pressed his face into his chest. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that. For now on we are using sticking charms on our hands whenever we are at the station. That way one goes with the other."
Harry held Draco just as tightly. He too had remembered the fear he felt when Draco had been kidnapped. "I agree. Just like I know our parents will put tracking spells and portkeys on us every year."
The two teens quickly settled in their new position. They had always felt comfortable with each other and the closeness. Both felt safe, content, and happy every time.
"Ry, are you going to go along with the plan the adults came up with?" Draco asked after a few minutes of comfortable silence.
Harry chuckled. "Nope. I'm going to Hogwarts as Romulus Graybeck. Harry Potter will be in Switzerland recovering from an attack that almost killed him."
"That sounds so much better. What will you do with Graybeck?"
"The public will be told he went back home to America. The school will be told that I'm there as part of an exchange program that Ilvermorny offers. The goblins will set it all up."
"When will you tell the adults?" Draco looked up at his friend.
"Before we go get our school supplies." Harry shared an amused look with the blond.
The two went back to watching the television. A few minutes later Draco broke the silence again.
"Harry?"
"Yeah."
"When will you kiss Severus?"
"My fifteenth birthday. I told my aunt just before she and Arabella left. That's why she released Severus from his vow."
"Are you going to tell Severus?"
"Nope." Harry laughed when Draco did.
At the two hour mark they left to meet their parents.
They all loved the trip. Some days they spent the whole day together as a group or the teens went with their parents on separate outing. By the last week none of them wanted to leave and Lucius ended up buying the house. The day they were leaving Harry and Draco went out to collect the ingredients. Harry was a bit disappointed that Severus didn't show up at all.
(*v*)
The day after they got back Griphook and Ragnarok arrived at Malfoy Manor. The adults were surprised by the visit. Harry on the other hand just greeted them and offered tea. Once everyone was seated Ragnarok started.
"Everything is set, Mr. Potter. Ilvermorny's Headmaster agreed to send a transcript, if you agree to portkey there and take the tests."
"That won't be a problem. What about the MACUSA?"
"The President signed the paperwork and sent it to the Ministry. She really doesn't like Dumbledore or Fudge." Griphook answered with a toothy smirk.
"Good more people on our side." Harry commented with a smile. "Was Headmistress McGonagall informed?"
"Yes." Ragnarok answered. "We purged her then told her. She is now protected from mind magic since Dumbledore obliviated her mind two hundred times in the sixty years."
"How she hadn't gone mad is a miracle." Narcissa stated looking horrified.
"It was her magic that prevented it." Griphook replied.
"Will I need anything else or just the glamour?" Harry asked bringing them back on topic.
"We will need to give you a ring to hide your accent. Also you will need to remember to avoid all British terms and slangs. If you plan to stay more than a year you can slowly add anything English to your vocabulary."
"Okay. So where will I come from?"
"Louisiana. We chosen a state to match your life here. You come from money, old money, your family is Pureblood. You can study up on the state's history and other trivial matters to answer any questions, but I doubt anyone would." Ragnarok answered.
Harry nodded. "I can do that."
"Will you be telling anyone else?" Griphook asked.
"No. The less people who know the easier things will be. I will have the Hat sort me into Ravenclaw to avoid anyone looking too closely if I go to Slytherin. Sorry, Dray."
Draco shook his head. "Don't be. We'll slowly become friends and I'll introduce the others to you. It will just mean we can't spend a lot of time together."
"Actually you can." Ragnarok spoke up. "Mr. Potter will be listed as under you care, Lord Malfoy. You will be his sponsor of a sorts. So it will give the two of you a reason to be together."
"Thank you." Harry told the goblins with a bow. "What about Switzerland?"
"Things there are handled. The Head Healer agreed to keep things quiet and make sure no press find out the truth. We will slowly leak a progress report with the Healer's signature." Ragnarok explained.
"Thank you again."
"No thanks needed, Mr. Potter. The Goblin Nation will protect you from Dumbledore."
"Here is your ring, it is also set to block any revealing spells. Here's the portkey, its set to take you and your parents tomorrow morning their time. Good luck, Mr. Potter." Griphook handed over the items Harry needed.
The three of them exchanged bows and the goblins left.
"Were you going to tell us?" Sirius asked.
"Yes, but the goblins beat me to it. I didn't like the plan you all came up with. It was too complicated and I was not going to allow Dumbledore to think he won. If he thought I was dead he would have go after Neville. That can't happen." Harry's voice was hard and determined.
"Alright, pup. Your papa and I will go with you then leave for Hogwarts. McGonagall granted us the extension because Remy sent the lesson plans when we were with the pack." Sirius explained.
"Do you need to study for anything?" Remus asked.
"No. Severus and I went over all seven years before I started Hogwarts. I have been independently studying other subjects including Muggle subjects."
"Alright, we'll have an early dinner then spend the rest of the night relaxing."
(*v*)
Harry and his parents toured the school while his tests were being graded. In all honesty Ilvermorny was better than Hogwarts. They offered both Muggle and Magical subjects. Everyday was a full day for the students. The first and second years didn't have free periods like Hogwarts. Instead they picked their electives like all the other years. The Headmaster told them the earlier they start on subjects the easier it will be to choose a profession by their fifth year. The muggle subjects will not only help them in the muggle world, but it will help them take the muggle tests for a diploma, if they wish to live and work in the muggle world.
Once they were told that Harry passed his tests, the Headmaster allowed Harry to be sorted. The Black-Lupin family was escorted back to the entrance hall where Harry was told to step on the Gordian Knot and face the wooden statues of the school's mascots. The teen confidently stepped on the golden knot and waited for a reaction. He eyed the four statues-the Thunderbird, Horned Serpent, the Wumpus, and the Pukwudgie.
To the surprise of everyone the Horned Serpent's crystal glowed the same time the Pukwudgie raised its arrow. Harry picked the Horned Serpent as his house. The Headmaster gave Harry a Gordian Knot with the Horned Serpent on it. Harry beamed at his fathers. They congratulated him in return and promised to celebrate with the rest of the family.
Before leaving Harry set up an independent study with the school. He would send his work in, then take the tests during the summer. Harry had decided to wait on his potion work.
The trip to Diagon was eventful. Harry was under a Parsel glamour so Dumbledore or Moody, who Lucius warned him about, couldn't see through. His Romulus look was simple, he had chestnut color hair which was long and pass his shoulder blades. Harry likes braiding it or putting it up in a bun. His eyes were a burgundy color, more violet than red. For his features and body build he used the mixture of Fenrir and Orion. Cheekbones were sharp and angular, the nose was roman, all came from Orion. From Fenrir he used the square jaw and slightly pointed chin. He took Fenrir's broad shoulders, but Orion's thin and long body. If anyone knew his grandfathers they would think Harry was their love child. Personally Harry thought it was funny, though his fathers looked a little green.
They had just walked out of Slugs and Jiggers when they were stopped by the Weasleys and Granger. Harry wasn't all that surprised to see them away from home. The other unsurprising thing was the Weasley Matriarch opening her mouth first.
"What did you do to Harry Potter?" Her voice was still annoying.
"We didn't do anything, Madame." Lucius drawled.
"Then why is he in a hospital in Switzerland?"
"If you had read the paper then you know the answer already." Narcissa answered dryly.
"Mr. Malfoy, can Draco show me the bookshop?"
"Who are you?" Granger glared.
"Romulus Graybeck."
"Greyback!" Molly Weasley screeched.
"No, Gray-beck. G-R-A-Y-B-E-C-K." Harry spoke slowly.
"Where did you come from?" Granger demanded.
"Louisiana. I'm doing an exchanged program from Ilvermorny." Harry answered. This was the quickest way to get the public to know.
"Your Headmaster did you a disservice by leaving you with the Malfoys." Arthur Weasley's voice was filled with disgust.
"They were the only Purebloods on the list. My family didn't want anything less for me." Harry taunted the man.
"So you are one of those." Ron Weasley sneered. "A slimy good for nothing evil snake."
"I'll have you know snakes are not slimy, snails are. Also snakes are useful for potion ingredients and keeping your house rodent free. And finally snakes are not evil even the venomous ones."
"You're just a Death Eater in training!" Weasley shouted, face red in embarrassment and anger. The crowd was laughing at him.
"Pay no attention to him, Romy." Draco drawled. "He, his girlfriend, and his sister are breaking their probation and house arrest. They did some illegal things and are bitter that their plans failed."
"You are right Mr. Malfoy," Madam Bones spoke announcing her presence. "Aurors Dawlish, Avery, and Gibbon arrest Ron and Ginny Weasley and Hermione Granger. Escort them home and re-enforce the wards."
"Amelia, that is not necessary. They are only here to get their schools things." Arthur protested.
"Their things were being owled to them. You and your wife along with Miss Granger's parents were told that. One more violation and the three of them will be spending the year in a holding cell at the Ministry, You and your wife will be keeping them company until your new trial. You will be subjected to Veritaserum and tell us how you were let out of Azkaban." Amelia drew her wand and put the body bind on them. She will be getting her answers, and there will be hell to pay.
The Malfoys and Harry smirked at the screaming Molly Weasley. Harry turned to Lucius. "Why wasn't their escape in the Prophet?"
"I think the Ministry was too focused on Dumbledore. We need to keep an eye on the paper, Dumbledore might know your father isn't in Azkaban anymore."
"We'll beat him to it and have Madam Bones release his pardon. That way it will be easier to have him at Hogwarts. If they were released that means Podmore was as well. Also how did they get Ronald and Ginerva and Granger out of their homes?"
"Its very likely Podmore is out, but I'm not worried about him. As to how they got those three, I'm sure Amelia will asked Molly and Arthur and fix that error."
"Things are changing, Lucius. Dumbledore and his sycophants will be gone and the Dark Lord will be sane." Harry responded with a slight smile.
"Are you any closer?" Lucius asked lowly as they walked to the bookstore. He didn't trust someone not to have found a way through the privacy ward.
"No not really. Midna said he did a ritual, but doesn't know which one. Grandfather Salazar said it was soul magic, but he doesn't know which one it could be. Apparently there are dozens of different rituals." Harry grimaced.
"I'll Rookwood when we get back. As an Unspeakable he'll know or at least know where to look."
"Thank you, Lucius." Harry looked at the older man. Lucius was like an uncle, but since Harry is married to Severus he should think of the older man like an older brother instead.
The rest of the Diagon trip was mostly uneventful. The only odd thing that happened was Ollivander stepping out and asking Harry if he needed a wand. Harry withdrew his new wand, knowing it was risky since he was someone else at the moment. The fury didn't go unnoticed as Ollivander eyed the Kingswood, the light and dark brown checkered wand, the wood was smooth and polished just like a chessboard. When asked about the core Harry informed him it was braided Thestral and Unicorn hair that was soak in Basilisk and Phoenix blood. Ollivander had called him a liar before storming back into his shop. Whispers started up as soon as Lucius guided Harry to the Leaky Cauldron. Harry on the other hand just figured the man was angry and jealous that the wand was made by another.
The next morning the Daily Prophet came early. The main article was about Sirius' release and pardon. The reporter put in how Sirius didn't get a trial, but was given one under Vertiaserum and found to be innocent. There was a small paragraph that mentioned how Peter Pettigrew was still alive and was the real secret keeper. It even mentioned the man being a rat animagus. At the end of the article was Madam Bones' statement. She told the Prophet that Dumbledore had been the one to cast the Fidelius Charm. She also mentioned how there was more evidence against Dumbledore, ensuring that the man will never leave Azkaban.
Harry was honestly surprised by how they made his dad look good while making Dumbledore look evil, which the man really was. He knew Dumbledore was going to be hunted by everyone but his unwavering supporters. The teen wouldn't be surprised if someone curse the man with a deadly spell before contacting the Aurors. He had heard Lucius mentioning how Madam Bones was hoping one of the supporters would turn the man in. Harry and the others wasn't going to hold their breath. Those people thought the man was the second coming of Merlin. Harry personally thought they were nuts to think something like that.
(*v*)
Aurors and Hit Wizards of darker leanings patrolled the station. Harry kept a tight hold on Draco, going so far as to putting a sticking charm on their hands. Neither was going to risk getting separated in the packed station. Both knew Lucius and Narcissa put the anti-portkey and anti-apparation charms on them.
Lucius told them that Aurors and Hit Wizards will be at Hogsmeade. He told them it was to protect the village and school from Dementors and Dumbledore. The older man also mentioned that Aurors will be inside the school, along with a Board member. Draco and Harry knew that that meant Lucius would be taking a shift. They relaxed a bit knowing that their fathers and Severus will make sure nothing happens to them.
Harry was sitting in a compartment with the other Slytherins. He was introduced as Romulus and spent the entire trip talking about Ilvermorny. Theo was the only one interested in learning more about the school. Marcus had just rolled his eyes fondly as he squeezed Theo's waist, the younger teen was sitting on his lap. Draco and Harry had exchanged surprised looks when they walked in. Harry had figured Theo wanted the closeness since it was Marcus' seventh year.
The Slytherin group talked about the new year and the classes they were taking. Harry had signed up for Arithmancy and Ancient Runes, Theo had signed up for the same classes while Blaise took Arithmancy and Care of Magical Creatures, and Draco was taking Care and Runes. They all bought the Magical Theory book and was going to do an independent study. It was there that Harry changed his mind about sorting into Ravenclaw. He didn't want to be separated from his friends, but he did want to change some of his habits.
As soon as he stepped off the train the rumor mill started. Everyone was talking about Romulus, and Harry Potter being away. When he was standing in line with the first years he listened to the questions around him. Some were talking about him, others about his dad. There was also talk about the Annoying Trio, Dumbledore being hunted by the Ministry and the Dementors. From what he could tell the majority was more afraid of Dementors than Dumbledore, but he blamed that on the Light and their sheep like personality.
After a short conversation with the Hat and reassuring the thing that Argus was protected, Harry sat next to Draco. McGonagall introduced him as an exchanged student, then introduced Sirius and Remus. The new Divination professor was Firenze, Magical Theory Professor Perenelle Flamel, the new Care of Magical Creatures professor Rolf Scamanger who took the position because his father had extended his overseas trip. McGonagall also touched briefly on the Dementors, telling them to stay far away and told them to get an Auror if they see Dumbledore. All in all Harry knew it was going to be an interesting year at Hogwarts.
The Ilvermorny information came from Pottermore, HP-Lexicon, and the Harry Potter wikia site. The exchange program and independent study are the only things I added to fit this story.
