AN: Okay, Okay, this will be my last chapter before I switch to weekly releases, I just wanted to get something out that wasn't mostly a retelling of the anime. I don't want to burn myself out, but I really enjoyed writing this chapter, and I think it has some fun stuff, yes, I will release chapter 5 on Saturday still, and no I definitely haven't already written 1000 words for that one. Forgive me if I'm moving our two along too fast, I do like the slow burn, but I also like fluff, so that's what some of this is, but a lot of hiding feelings and insecurity will keep the actual relationship at bay, for now. I do also plan to have plenty of content after an actual relationship forms. Review reply at the bottom

"Did you just call me Mei? Sniff." The girl looked up into Izuku's eyes, her own stained a bloodshot red from her tears.

"Uhh, n-no, I, uhh, said H-hatsume, you probably j-just didn't h-hear the whole t-thing" Izuku said, immediately turning into a babbling mess.

Mei looked around his face, seeing his freckles on a backdrop of bright red instead of his usual peachy skin. "It's okay, dummy. I've called you by your first name before, besides, we've known each other for a decade, surely we should be on a first name basis by now. Wouldn't you say I-zu-ku" Mei said, teasing Izuku as his face grew a somehow brighter shade of red. The mood lightened as Mei began giggling as Izuku fell further into his mumbling, slowly growing redder.

Izuku finally looked up from the floor to see her face, with a smile splitting her face as she doubled over in laughter, easily making him just as happy as she was. He couldn't help himself from laughing with her, and soon both found their way to the floor, hiccupping and catching their breath.

"What's so funny you two?" Miss Hatsume spoke, from the entrance to the garage. "Do either of you know what time it is?"

Izuku's eyes widened at that comment, and he immediately stopped his remaining chuckle. He looked up at a digital clock above Mei's workstation, only to see it was almost 11:30 at night.

"BYE MEI!" He screamed, gave Mei a quick hug and promptly sprinted out of the garage, before realizing what he'd done.

Mei couldn't even realize that her own cheeks had more blood flow than usual, she was too busy thinking. "Did he just hug me? He never hugs me."

"You know you really ought to take him for yourself, before another girl steals him from you." Yukiko told her daughter, casually slapping her on her shoulder. Mei's blush only rose further from that comment.

"You say that as if I like him, we've been just friends for 11 years, that won't change." Mei responded, although hiding her face from her mother.

Yukiko could hear a hint of sadness in the last words of her daughter's response.

Izuku quickly realized how bad he'd messed up when he arrived back at his own home, opening the door to find his mother sitting on the couch, replaying the news clip of him rushing to save Kacchan. Inko turned around with tears in her eyes, down her cheeks, and frankly soaking her shirt too. Inko promptly tackled him, wailing the whole time.

"HOW COULD YOU DO THAT! YOU COULD'VE BEEN KILLED!" Inko screamed at her son.

"K-Kacchan needed help! I couldn't just do nothing!" Izuku attempted to reason with his mom. "Besides, it all ended well enough, right?"

Inko then went from sad to livid in a matter of moments, blowing up at her son and demanding he be more careful. But also switching back to happiness for her son when he mentioned he had plans tomorrow with someone other than Mei, although he left out that it was with the number 1 hero.

Going to sleep a little later than he should have, Izuku prepared himself mentally for what would happen at Dagobah beach tomorrow morning.

"IZUKU!" Mei screamed at the top of her lungs and promptly tackled her green haired friend into the sand. The sweat all over his body was a clear sign he'd been exercising for hours.

"Young Hatsume! Good to see you! What gadget have you brought us today?" All Might asked, sitting atop a fridge being dragged by Izuku. It had now been two full months, and Izuku was already shaping up fairly nicely. In preparation for the UA entrance exam, in 6 months, Mei had decided that she would prepare by building useful items for him while he trained.

Mei whipped out a small package, unwrapped it, and proceeded to strip Izuku of his shirt without warning, Causing Izuku to nearly jump out of his remaining articles of clothing.

"Mei! What are you doing!" Izuku Squeaked out, his face red not from the exhaustion of his exercise, but the fact he was shirtless in front of the only girl he ever talked to.

"Well, this baby needs skin contact to work, so get over here!" Mei yelled, running after Izuku, barely managing to catch him. "Dang, he really has gotten faster!" She thought to herself as she sat over his back, his face in the sand. She quickly began poking and prodding at the muscles all across his back, and started placing electrodes across all of the lesser muscle groups. Hatsume quickly grabbed his right arm and flipped him over, proceeding to do the same with his chest and arms. Izuku looked as if he was going to pass out, not quite realizing what she was doing poking him, as his mind was only on the fact that she was now straddling his waist, leaning over him, her hands on his chest. "Wow, his pectorals are developing nicely." She thought, completely oblivious to the effect her inspection had on her companion. After placing more electrodes across his lesser muscle groups on his chest, abs, and arms, she finally stood, her own blush rising as she realized what she'd done.

"Done! This baby will stimulate all the lesser muscle groups you probably haven't focused on. That way you'll be able to train all of those muscles, while you're training the big ones!" Mei giddily pressed a few buttons and turned a dial on the remote control and watched excitedly as the gadget let off a few noises and lights, prompted by Izuku immediately straining in pain. Giving a few loud grunts and yells. "Don't worry! That'll pass soon enough once those little muscles are stronger! It works in pulses, so it'll happen randomly, adds suspense!" Mei chuckled as she watched Izuku attempt to stand, only to get shocked again and fall headfirst into the sand.

"You're a sadist, young Hatsume! I like it!" All might watched as his successor slowly gained will over the shocks and was able to stand again.

"Told you! It's already working, now, get back to training with him, while my baby works it's magic!" Mei said finding a comfortable pile of junk to sit on while she watched Izuku intently, still shirtless, haul junk around the beach to a truck. She found it funny feeling his heart rate increase every time she watched him almost fall. As Mei watched his muscles periodically tense, along with the sweat dripping down his already fairly toned body, she could only think one thing. "Wow, he looks like a man now!" Occasionally she'd spot a potential scrap treasure, and have Izuku put it in a separate pile for her own later use.

As Izuku sat on Mei's couch, positively exhausted, a now fairly common occurrence since he'd been training with All Might, he felt the sensation of being watched. He tilted his head backwards to see over the back of the couch, only for his green eyes to meet the honey colored irises of Mei Hatsume. He promptly became as red as a tomato, and a dusting of rose appeared on Mei's cheeks as well.

"I, uhhh, d-do you want something to drink?" Mei quickly muttered out, turning her face away from his, and rushed to the kitchen.

"She never stutters, I wonder if she's sick or something." Izuku thought, absent-mindedly, too exhausted to read into it any further, and too insecure to think she was actually staring at him for any other reason than to ask that question. "Uhhh, sure? Do you have any apple juice?" He asked, hoping for some natural sugar to give him some sort of energy to move, he still had to walk home after all, even if it was only a 5 or 6 minute walk from Mei's house.

Mei walked back over to the couch, avoiding his eyes as she handed him a glass of the requested juice. She sat next to him and fiddled with the TV remote. A slightly uncomfortable silence lingered between the two.

"Do you want to watch something?" Mei asked, attempting to get rid of the lack of their usually talkative friendship.

"Not really. But do you want to go build something? I have an idea written in my notebook." Her eyes instantly met his and lit up at that. Excitedly jumping over the back of the couch, Mei ran to the garage door and sat at her tinkering table, waiting extremely impatiently for the sore Izuku to make his way to his own table they had for him. Once he finally got down onto his own seat at his table, he realized he of course didn't have the notebook with him. He tried his best to rack his brain to remember what the idea was, but after such an exhausting day, he couldn't figure it out.

When Mei realized what was going through Izuku's head, she stood and began walking towards him. "Here, go home get the idea from the notebook, but instead of coming all the way back here, just text me the idea and I'll draw up some plans we can use tomorrow. Here!" Mei told him as she wrote her phone number on his arm with a marker she'd had at her desk. "That way you can get some rest when you get home." She looked up and flashed him a smile.

Izuku however was simply trying his hardest not to blush again, the blood flow to his head would be too much for him to handle at the moment. But he failed, even if it was his very best friend, he never had been given a girl's phone number.

"O-Okay, Mei, I-I guess I'll see you tomorrow." He told her as he slowly turned to leave, but before could get out the front door, he felt a pair of arms wrap around his chest.

"I just wanted to say, good job! Your training is going great and you look so much happier and healthier than you used to!" Mei said, running her fingers over his developing muscles.

"Bye Mei!" Izuku said as he bolted out the door, attempting to get away from her before she made him pass out. "Why does she make me feel like this all of a sudden, she's only being touchy like she always is." He thought as he stopped to catch his breath a block down.

Mei pouted, staring at her front door, now empty of her green haired friend. She took a look at her hands and realized what she had done and started to blush as well. "Why does that feel different now? I've always been fine inspecting how he was growing." Mei thought to herself, startled, she turned to see her mom leaning on the wall of the entryway.

"It's because you've got feelings for him now, you even picked up his muttering." Yukiko said, stifling a chuckle at the scene she had just witnessed between the two.

"I said that out loud?!" Mei hid her face in her hands, and surprised herself when she could feel the heat of her cheeks on her hands. "I swear it's just because I'm getting older, that's a natural reaction! It'd be the same for any other guy!" Mei waved her arms in front of her face, trying to reason with her mother, and herself.

"Sure, whatever you say Goggles."

"I told you to stop calling me that!" Mei retorted to her mother.

"I'll stop calling you that when you stop cuddling with them at night, but sure, you definitely don't love Izuku."

Mei's face only got hotter hearing that word, and she stomped past her mom to the garage door. "Whatever, Mom! Izuku's probably texted me his idea for our next baby by now!" Mei yelled back at her mom as she slammed the garage door behind her.

"Oh so he's got your phone number now too!" Yukiko teased her daughter through the door, the only response she got was a loud thud of something being thrown at the door.

As Izuku made it back home, the only thing on his mind was food. He practically busted down the door, and quite quickly made his way to the dinner table, seeing his mom was already making something. "Smells good, mom! Whatever it is!"

"I'm making takoyaki tonight. Goodness Izuku, you look awful!" Inko said after turning away from her cooking for a moment. "Are you sick? You look redder than a firetruck!"

"Is that blush seriously still there? Or maybe I am just sick, I went a lot harder on my training, especially with Mei's latest torture device on the whole time." Izuku thought to himself, shuddering at the thought he'd have to use the same device again tomorrow. "I'm fine, just went a little harder on my training today and I'm pretty exhausted." Izuku explained to his mom.

"Well then you'd better eat a lot, you'll need it."

As Izuku was settling in his bed, a thought of Mei came to his head, which quickly reminded him he had forgotten to send her his idea. "Crap, I hope she forgot too!" He quickly shot her a text to apologize and let her know what the idea was, to which she immediately responded.

"Oh it's no worry! I'd been doing other stuff and kind of forgot!"

"Yet she responded that fast? I hope she hadn't really sat at her phone and waited that long, although that does sound like something she would do." Izuku thought, and felt bad he kept her waiting so long.

"Well sorry either way, we can start work on it tomorrow right?" He asked her.

"Sure! Can't wait to see you!"

"SO WE CAN BUILD IT OF COURSE!" She quickly added on, hoping he wouldn't think she would be that excited just to hang out with him.

"I wonder why her heart rate just increased?" "Excited to build with you too." He sent, figuring it was the most appropriate response.

Izuku found himself slowly drifting to sleep on Mei's sofa. Today was especially rough, especially since Mei decided it would be a good idea to add weights on his ankles and wrists, AND increase the shock rate. Mei came back from the kitchen with his once again requested apple juice and a snack for herself, only to find Izuku's head leaned back, upon closer inspection she realized he was, in fact, asleep. He had never fully fallen asleep around her, if he had, her first thought might not have been, "He looks cute when he's asleep. Wait, what am I thinking about!" Mei shook the dusting of red off her face and turned away from him. Mei decided she'd go tinker around in the garage until he woke back up.

After a few hours of messing with old inventions, attempting to fix broken ones, or adding features to some already finished ones, Mei felt Izuku's heart rate increase. "He must be awake!" She thought, setting down her notebook she was doodling in. As Mei returned to the living room, she didn't find Izuku awake, but instead stirring heavily, and groaning occasionally. As she walked around the side of the couch, she saw Izuku was sweating heavily. "Oh no, he's probably having a nightmare!" She sat next to him and decided, rather absentmindedly, to put her arms around his head and pull him to her chest. She felt the warmth from his head under her chin as she rested her head on top of his, keeping him close. He kept rustling and she was getting uncomfortable, so she moved his head to her lap and leaned herself backwards. Mei began running her hand through his hair, and after that he quickly stopped his trembling and his heart rate decreased.

"He's sleeping peacefully again, I guess I can get back to work now." Mei thought, only to realize Izuku had subconsciously grabbed her hand. She suddenly began blushing, "But, if I move now, he'll probably wake up." Mei leaned her head back and sighed, figuring she'd just have to wait for him to wake up on his own. She continued playing with his hair, with her only free hand, and ended up drifting off as well.

"Well well, what do we have here?" Yukiko walked into the living room, spying upon the two sleeping soundly on the sofa. She had already seen Izuku sleeping alone on the couch earlier, and Mei in her workshop, so she knew that meant that Mei had snuck her way in. She looked at the wall clock and saw it was already 10 pm. "I guess I should text Inko and let her know he won't be coming home tonight." Yukiko snapped a quick picture of the two and sent it to Izuku's mother.

"Forgive me Inko, I don't have the heart to wake them. I promise I'll feed him a good breakfast and get him home after that!"

Yukiko mischievously grinned as she took a few more pictures she could hang over her daughter's head, plenty of ideas to tease her with filling her mind. But first she figured she'd better cover the two up, throwing a blanket over Izuku, and wrapping one around Mei's shoulders, making sure not to cover Izuku's face. She took one last picture to seal the deal and decided she could go to bed herself. "Don't need to cuddle with the goggles when you've got the man himself huh, Goggles?" She laughed at her own joke and made her way to her bedroom.

94blake: That's the idea for the first few chapters, unfortunately, it is boring, but that should end here. I'll be giving a few scenes that are similar to canon, but will have Mei included, and she'll change a lot of things.
