Hey, everyone! Gotta cut this short because I am totally running late for work, but I just had to get this up for everyone to R&R. The story is nearing the end sooner than I had even planned it, but I like how things are turning out for this story. I have really enjoyed writing this for you all to read and I hope everyone has enjoyed reading it as well. Well, without further ado, here's the next chpt.
Yuna narrowed her eyes at the dark figure before her. Anger was surely present within those narrowed eyes as well. She breathed deeply, her hands formed into a fist.
"You." Yuna said through clinched teeth. "You did this! You are the cause of all of my pain, my tears, and my living hell!" The psycho just crossed his arms over his chest. "And you don't even give a damn." The psycho just shrugged his shoulders. "You unimaginable bastard!" The psycho let out a small, evil cackle. Yuna slowly approached him and he then withdrew his gun and Yuna just scoffed. "Is that suppose to scare me?" The psycho said nothing as she watched Yuna walk towards him. She at last came face to face with him, the barrel of his gun pressed firmly against the center of her chest. "Pull the trigger." The psycho just stood there, which only annoyed Yuna. Therefore she gave him a violent shove. "Pull the trigger, you coward! You wanted to kill me! Well, now here I am! KILL ME!"
The psycho was completely baffled by Yuna's attitude and rage. He couldn't make heads or tails of the situation. Therefore, he pulled his gun away from Yuna and began to study her. In her eyes was nothing but a blank look. Like she didn't have a care in the world or no reason to even live. "Lost your love, did you?"
"You took him away!" Yuna said coldly.
The psycho just chuckled. "What are you going to do, go crying to daddy?"
Without warning, Yuna squealed out in anger, leaping onto the psycho. She managed to get several hits in as the psycho tried to peel her off of him where she also caused him to drop his gun. Yuna had her arm locked around his neck, literally choking the life from him. She then reached around and dug her nails into the side of his face. She psycho shouted in pain, grabbed Yuna and threw her off of him, however, not only was Yuna removed from him, she had grasped his mask, which was tore off as she fell to the ground. Upon realizing this, the psycho darted off into the darkness. Yuna managed to stumble to her feet, looked around and then looked at what she had in her hand.
"His mask!" Yuna said. She then took a few steps forward only to have her foot hit against something. She looked down, moving her hair back out of her face as she examined what was underfoot. There next to her foot was his gun. She picked it up, looked it over and a cold, sinister expression played upon her features.
Shuyin escorted Lenne out of the burning building where numerous people were running in fear for their lives. The police had swarmed the place and the ZFD were also on the scene. Nooj fought his way through the crowd and at last met up with Lenne and Shuyin, however, was quite bewildered as to why Yuna and Tidus wasn't with them.
"Are you two alright?" Nooj asked with concern in his voice.
"We're fine!" Shuyin shouted over the rabid crowd and sirens.
"Where's Yuna?" Nooj asked.
"She's still inside!" Shuyin said. "I have to go back in and get her! Take care of Lenne for me."
"And what of Tidus?" Nooj asked. Shuyin fell silent. Nooj looked to Lenne who turned away. He then looked back at Shuyin who couldn't find the words to say it.
"Tidus. . . laid down his life. . . protecting these girls." Shuyin said.
A sad expression crossed Nooj's face. "I see." He lowered his eyes to the ground and took a step backwards. "Go save Yuna. We don't need two tragedies. Besides, if something were to happen to Yuna. . ." Nooj then looked back at Shuyin. "May Yevon have mercy on our souls." Shuyin nodded his head and ran swiftly towards the burning building.
Yuna stood perfectly still, her breathing slow and steady. Her eyes were the only things that were moving at this time. She could hear noises off in the distance and proceeded to go in the direction they were coming from. She continued to walk until she was at last at the back entrance of the of the stadium. The door was swaying back and forth, making small tapping noises. Yuna stopped dead in her track and watched the door was it swayed back and forth. She held the gun to her side, ready for fire at anything that moved. She gulped and then took a step forward. . . another step. . . and then another till she was only inches away from the door. She switched the gun into her right hand as she took her left hand and pushed the door open. It creaked every inch of the until it was fully open. A gust of wind blew by, barely caressing her hair as she stepped into the doorway where she found herself in an alley way at the main back of the building. The light from the burning building reflected off the ground before her, flickering in the darkness.
"Where are you?" Yuna whispered to herself as she stepped forth and began to walk slowly down the back alley.
Braska fought his way through the crowd and found Lenne and Nooj. He forced his way over to them and was he ever full of questions. Not to mention the concern and anger he was feeling.
"Nooj!" Braska shouted. Nooj and Lenne turned and faced Braska. "Where's my daughter?" Nooj didn't reply. He only looked at Lenne and then at the burning building. Braska's eyes slowly gazed upon the burning building and he shook his head. "It can't be. Say it isn't so!"
The blaze had gotten far beyond control. The efforts that the ZFD had put forth were done in vain because nothing was helping. Suddenly, the entire front of the stadium collapsed. Anyone and everyone who was near or around ran in fear. Screams erupted all around and the hysteria had grown out of control.
Yuna could hear the hysteria, see the light flickering upon the dark ground before her from the roaring flames, however, she continued her path down the darkened alley. One foot at a time was placed with nervous, frightful ease as she continued to walk. She could hear her heart pounding in her ears, the sweat dripping from her brow. One could hear the fear in her uneven, deep breathes that exhaled from within her lungs. A noise in the distance startled her. She gasped from fright, dropping the gun to the ground below. She looked around as she lowered herself to the ground, never letting her eyes leave her surroundings. She felt around on the ground, her fingertips at last coming in contact with the gun. She firmly grasped the handle of the gun and slowly stood to her feet.
Suddenly, someone jumped Yuna from behind. She screamed out as they both fell to the ground. She lost grasp of the gun, which went sliding across the ground overhead. She struggled to get away, however, was greatly overpowered. She was forced over onto her back while whoever had jumped her straddled her. Her arms were pinned down against the cold pavement.
"Now I have you!" came the sinister voice of the psycho.
"What do you want from me?" Yuna asked trying to hold back her tears. "What have I done to you?"
"It's what you HAVEN'T done for me that has led you up to this point." the psycho said.
"What?" Yuna asked bewildered.
"I wanted YOU all to myself." the psycho at last admitted. "But what did you go and do! You gave your heart to that damn cop!" Yuna narrowed her eyes at him. "I watched you two that night at his place." Yuna's eyes went wide and a disgusted look crossed her face. "I watched as he held you in his arms, kissed you. . . touched you. I saw the pleasure of ecstasy that was in your eyes and upon your face."
"You're sick!" Yuna shouted at him.
The psycho just chuckled. "We're all sick and twisted in our own ways, my dear."
"Maybe in that fantasy world you live in, but not everyone is as sick and twisted like you are!" Yuna snapped.
"You wretched little bitch!" the psycho snapped loudly only to back hand Yuna right across the face. She yelled as the slap echoed down the alley only to place her hand to her cheek to try and minimize the sting. He then withdrew his knife and held it high into the air, Yuna seen it, her eyes went wide and she let out a blood curling scream. And just before he was about to bring the knife forth, out of no where, someone grabbed him from behind. One arm was placed around his neck while the other grabbed the hand that the knife was in and the struggle was on.
Both staggered backwards as the psycho struggled to get free and the stranger struggled to keep a firm grasp on him. Finally the psycho broke free only to swing his elbow backwards, however, the stranger ducked down and dodged his blow only to retaliate with a punch to the face. Angered that the stranger had gotten the better of him, the psycho began to slash at him. Yuna screamed as he leaped forward at the stranger who moved out of the way just in time and pushed him up against the side of the wall. The stranger backed up towards Yuna who stood up. He looked at her, motioning for her to stay back. The psycho was indeed furious. He growled out loudly as he turned and faced the mysterious hero that had came to Yuna's rescue.
"You venomous snake!" the psycho said while slowly placing his eyes upon Yuna. "All I ever wanted was you, but you never wanted me!" He struck the blade of his knife against the side of the wall as he began to approach the stranger and Yuna who began to back away. The side of Yuna's heel hit against something. She looked underfoot only to see what she had previously lost and looked at the psycho with sly eyes. "What are you planning, my dear?" Yuna didn't respond. "Without warning, the psycho threw the knife only to strike the stranger in the arm and he fell to the ground. Yuna cried out "NO!" only to see the psycho running straight at her. She quickly grabbed the gun, stepped forth and began to fire it like crazy. The psycho took three bullets to the chest and one to the arm before at last going down. The stranger removed the knife from his shoulder, struggling to his feet. Yuna lowered the gun, letting it slip form her fingers before at last breaking down. She then turned to the stranger behind her and ran into his arms.
"Thank goodness you're here, Shuyin." Yuna said through sorrowful tears.
The man slowly placed his hands upon Yuna's shoulders. "I'm not Shuyin." Yuna's eyes went wide, looking the stranger face to face.
