Hey, everyone. Guys, thank you so much for your reviews. I thought I had lost everyone for a while. lol Anyway, here's another exciting chpt for everyone. Enjoy!
Yuna was certainly captivated by the words that her ears had just captured from the stranger's mouth that stood before her. Could it be true? Was he truly there? How was it even possible? These questions and more ran through her mind as she gazed into the eyes that was looking into her own.. Such seriousness they bestowed, but beyond that Yuna could see the gentleness that his soul truly harbored within. And she knew exactly who that was before her.
A single tear of happiness escaped her eye and it trickled down her cheek. "How. . . how can this be?" She placed her hand to his cheek, tracing the outline of his bottom lip with her thumb where he greeted it with a timid kiss.
"Always believe in miracles, Yuna." Tidus said as he took Yuna's hand in his own and kissed it. "Believe in them like you believed in us and never lose faith."
Yuna was most certainly shocked and at a loss for words. She tried to utter what she was feeling inside, but could find no words to describe her inner joy. Therefore, she allowed herself to get lost in his eyes and be carried away by the kiss that he placed upon her lips. Tidus pulled her into a loving embrace, deepening the kiss where it soon became pull of passion and love. They soon parted and he cupped her face within his hands, leaning his forehead against her's. Yuna looked at him only to smile.
Suddenly, a loud growl broke the silence of the night as the psycho leaped and grabbed Tidus from behind. How was this maniac even alive after what Yuna had done? Either this psycho was wearing a bullet proof vest or he just refused to go down. Yuna screamed as she watched Tidus and that crazed maniac viciously struggle to gain control over the other. Finally, Tidus lost it. His temper flared, his blood boiled and he just saw red. Therefore, he let out a growl of his own as he ran backwards, slamming the psycho up against the back of the wall and he groaned loudly in pain. Tidus then took his elbow only to strike him in the faced with it three times and still the psycho refused to let go. Reaching around and getting a death grip on the psycho, Tidus somehow managed to lean forward a bit and flip the psycho over his back and fumble to the ground before him. Before the psycho could stumble to his feet, Tidus managed to swipe the gun that was laying on the ground and aimed it straight at the psycho's head. He looked up only to be staring at the barrel of the gun. Tidus certainly had an itchy finger right now. All he needed was one small reason to pull that trigger. Yuna ran to his side, clinging onto his arm.
"Stay where you are!" Tidus said through clinched teeth. The psycho threw him an evil glare. "You might have the looks, but you don't have the balls to kick my ass."
"Nor the skills." Yuna added. Tidus glanced at her only to glare back at the psycho.
"Just who the hell are you?" Tidus demanded to know. The psycho only cackled. "Either you say your name or I kill you right here and now. Personally speaking, I like the second option better."
Through narrowed eyes, the psycho took a few steps back and walked into the streetlight that shined dimly onto the street below. Tidus instantly lowered the gun out of pure shock. Yuna shook her head, for she had no idea who that was standing before her.
"You low life bastard!" Tidus said still in shock as he shook his head. "Of all the people in Spira why you!"
"Who is that?" Yuna asked.
"His name's Cain." Tidus said. "My old partner. . . my best friend."
"That was until Shuyin came along!" Cain added.
"And with a friend like you who needs enemies?" Yuna spatted at him.
"You little- -" Cain said angered as he stomped towards Yuna.
Tidus instantly responded and pointed the gun straight at him. "Don't you dare come near her."
"You would kill your best friend for that?" Cain said with a mocked chuckle.
"Not only that." Tidus began and Cain narrowed his eyes. "I would die for her."
"Just like the hero stunt you pulled on stage." Cain said and began to clap his hands. "Bravo! Bravo!"
"Enough of your sarcasm, Cain!" Tidus warned.
"How was it you managed to survive something like that?" Cain asked
"I have my ways." Tidus said with a crooked grin.
"Too bad you didn't meet your maker then cause Yuna would have joined you on this night." Cain said
"Why do you hate me so?" Yuna asked.
"I wouldn't call it "hate", my dear." Cain said. "I DESPISE the very ground you walk on! You have all that money, all that fame. . . and the power. Braska is your father. I figured to kidnap you and Lenne, have my way with you two girls and Braska would give me the proper amount for his little girl and best friend, but time and time again I failed. So I just figured if I couldn't get you, then I'd just get rid of you both. And what does daddy do?" He then chuckled. "He goes and hires the best damn cop in Zanarkand!" He narrowed his eyes straight at Tidus.
"And here we are!" Tidus finished for him.
Angered by Tidus' mockery, Cain darted at him. Tidus pulled the trigger several times only to find that the gun had jammed. He cursed only to take the handle of the gun and strike Cain up side the head with it. Cain went down only to grab Tidus' foot and jerk it out from under him and he fell backwards, his head hitting hard against the pavement. He grabbed the back of his head and drifted in and out of consciousness for a moment or two.
"Tidus!" Yuna shouted as she ran to his side. She could tell he was in a bit of a daze and tried to help him in any way possible. Cain slowly stood to his feet. Yuna saw him and she stood up as well only to back away into a frightful run and Cain gave chase. Yuna ran down the dark alley and had to choice but to run back inside the burning building. Cain slowed down to an eerie walk, slowly approaching the door.
"KAIN!" Tidus shouted. "I SWEAR TO YEVON IF YOU HURT HER- -" He struggled to his feet. Cain did not heed Tidus' warning and entered the burning building.
Moments later. . .
The main back of the stage area was dark. The fire had yet to reach this part of the building. Yuna looked around. She could hear her heart pounding in her ears. She breathed nervously, very nervously. She looked all around walking backwards when suddenly someone grabbed her from behind. He placed his hand over her mouth to silence her screams. He dragged her kicking and screaming towards the back of the room and placed her behind some rather large crates and boxes that contained equipment for the stage area.
"Yuna!" the man said. "Shhh! Yuna, it's me!" He then released her.
Yuna spun around and glared at him. "Shuyin!" Shuyin nodded his head where he then placed his finger to his lips, signaling to Yuna to remain as quiet as possible. "That mad man is outside with Tidus!"
Shuyin's eyes went wide. "Tidus?" Yuna nodded her head. "Should have known that crazy thing would escape death yet again. He's like a damn cat with nine lives."
"Enough with the jokes, Shuyin." Yuna urged. "I know who that creep is. He goes by the name of Cain."
Shuyin's eyes went wide. "What!"
"Yeah." Yuna said. "I don't know him, but Tidus does."
"I know who that sick bastard is!" Shuyin said. "Damn! Why didn't I see this before?" Yuna looked at him confused. "He had this shrine made of you and Lenne. All he talked about was how beautiful you two were and how he'd give anything to get close to you two. And he got very angry when Nooj teamed me and Tidus up. He said we were the best two he had and that the best should stick together. Cain disappeared after that."
"But- -" Yuna began, however, was cut off by the distant sound of a slamming door. She and Shuyin gasped, peaking around the side of the large crate only to see Cain standing in the doorway.
