Hello everyone! I'm back with a brand new fanfiction.
Here is the Pilot chapter.
Here are a few details to know:
- Ellie has not died in S3. She only disappeared without telling Peyton.
- Peyton left Tree Hill not too long after the High School shooting.
- Nathan got drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats and has just finished playing his 1st NBA Season.
- Haley is teaching at Tree Hill High.
- Lucas is travelling the world with his girlfriend, Lindsey.
I also want to confirm that the confirmed couples are Brucas and Naley. There will be some Leyton as I'm known as a Leyton shipper but I'm looking to write something different for her future relationship. Let me know if you've got some ideas for her future boyfriend!
"I should have taken the wheel. You are such a slow driver, P. Sawyer." Brooke Davis declared after a long sigh. "If I had driven, we would have arrived in Tree Hill in less than 8 hours."
Peyton Sawyer chuckled. "Do you think I'm going to speed with my four-year-old son in the back seat?"
"But you are under the speed limit." Brooke Davis complained.
Peyton Sawyer sped up, and she glared at her best friend. "You're happy now?"
Brooke nodded, and the two friends started laughing. They were on their way to Tree Hill to pay a surprise visit to their friends and especially to Peyton's father. They hadn't announced themselves. It was the first time they had returned to their hometown in several years. Since graduating, Brooke hadn't set foot there, while Peyton hadn't visited her hometown since her abrupt departure a few weeks after the high school shooting.
After a tough summer between her Junior Year and her Senior Year, when she met her biological mother, her relationship with her father became challenging, especially when she found out that he had lied to her for many years regarding her adoption. Everything got worse when her birth mother, Elizabeth Harp, left suddenly after their relationship got a little bit better. It destroyed Peyton; she couldn't handle another departure. There was also the infamous Tree Hill High School shooting, where she sustained a significant leg injury.
After she recovered from her injury, she joined Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy, who she met at the launching of the Friends With Benefits album. She left everything behind her: her studies, her cheerleading squad, her friends, and most importantly, her longtime best friend Brooke Davis and her father, Larry Sawyer. In Los Angeles, she finished High School at home, but she also found out that she was pregnant. Only two weeks after her arrival in Hollywood, her life changed forever. Pete, who also became her boyfriend, helped her, but it didn't last forever. Two months after the birth of her son, Noah Sawyer, she moved to New York City and joined Brooke Davis, who had moved there with her mother after High School to found the Clothes Over Bros business.
Brooke quickly involved her best friend in the company since she no longer had a job and had to support her baby. Peyton Sawyer held 10% of the company's shares, Victoria Davis held for her part 40%, and the majority of the shares obviously belonged to Brooke Davis.
Even though they hadn't come to Tree Hill in years, they welcomed a couple of close friends in New York for Thanksgiving. Nathan, Haley, and their son Jamie came over for a couple of days during the fall. It was a nice reunion, and Peyton was delighted to see her son getting along with Jamie Scott. A few times a year, Larry Sawyer visited them as well. Larry had retired from his job on the sea during the past year and had more free time to spend around his daughter and his grandson. Before his retirement, Larry brought Noah for a week with him on the sea. He has a special bond with the child.
"Are we going to see grandpa soon?" Noah Sawyer asked from the backseat. "I miss grandpa!"
"Yes, baby, we're getting there," Peyton replied.
Noah was the spitting image of his mother. He had her eyes, her hair color, and her personality. He was a rather reserved kid who was very interested in the music his mother listened to. In addition, his primary passions are baseball, basketball, and going fishing with his grandfather. He was also very close to his godmother, Brooke. As Peyton and him lived with her in New York, he spent time with her on a daily basis. Brooke Davis loved to bring him on red carpets and basically, everywhere she went.
Peyton Sawyer finally arrived in front of Larry's house, and she couldn't help but laugh when she noticed that he was mowing the lawn in front of the house. He hadn't seen that a car had parked. Noah quickly got out of his booster seat and opened the door of the Range Rover before Peyton had even stopped the engine. Peyton and Brooke got out of the vehicle afterward. Larry had his grandson in his arms, and the kid had his hands wrapped around his neck.
"What are you guys doing here?" Larry Sawyer exclaimed. "What a nice surprise!" He put his grandson on the ground and hugged his only daughter.
"We decided to take a week off and come hang out at Tree Hill for a while. It's been a while!" Peyton said with a smirk. "The house has not changed from the outside."
"I'm happy to see you as well, Brooke," Larry said. "You're part of the family, you know."
Brooke chuckled. "I hope so."
"Okay, let's go inside! The lawn can wait for me." Larry declared.
They followed Larry inside, and Peyton was nostalgic about seeing the living room. Nothing had changed. Painful memories quickly surfaced.
FLASHBACK
It was a rainy day. After a long weekend at Rachel Gatina's family cabin, Peyton came home and cleaned up her things. Her clothes were scattered all over her room. The last few weeks had been very trying for her, and even though she had had a great weekend with her friends, she didn't feel good about herself; Ellie's sudden departure, the shooting, high school, everything had become heavy for her.
"P. Sawyer? You there?" Brooke Davis yelled from downstairs. She had just gotten to Peyton's place.
"Upstairs," Peyton yelled as well.
Within seconds, Brooke was in Peyton's room. She could see that something was wrong.
"Is everything okay? You were silent all the way to Tree Hill." Brooke asked her. "I came over because I found your shirt in my bag."
Peyton sighed. "I'm just exhausted, Brooke. My life has been an entire mess since the beginning of the year. I think I should leave for a while."
"What do you mean?" Brooke asked.
"Pete asked me to follow him in Los Angeles, and I think that's what I'm gonna do." Peyton declared. "At least, for a few weeks."
"Peyton, please. Don't do this." Brooke couldn't believe what she heard from her best friend. "I know that Ellie disappearing without giving you a sign was tough for you and that it's still pretty hard to get back into school since you were shot. But we're all here for you. Lucas, Haley, Nathan, Mouth, Skills, and I."
"I can't do this anymore, Brooke. I'm just tired." Peyton was close to bursting into tears.
"And what are you going to tell Larry?" Brooke questioned. "He's gonna be heartbroken."
"He was off to see my grandmother this weekend. So if I leave tonight, I won't have to give him any explanations."
Brooke began to cry. "Please, Peyton. Don't leave me like that."
"I'm sorry, Brooke."
END OF FLASHBACK
"I'd offer you a beverage, but, I didn't buy anything special. You know I'm mostly eating out." Larry Sawyer declared. "I'm so happy to see you all in this home." He was almost emotional, which was unexpected coming from him.
"It's alright, dad." Peyton chuckled. "Are you alright with us staying over for the week?"
"Are you kidding me?" Larry replied. "Brooke even got her room here when you left. Remember when I told you that I did a little makeover of the third bedroom I used for storage?"
"Yeah, to store your fishing gear instead of putting it in the basement like every dad would do." Peyton laughed.
Larry was so excited, he grabbed his keyring from his jeans pocket. "Check out this key." He took it away from the keyring. "I put a padlock on your bedroom door. It has remained intact ever since. Please take it. I'll go to the supermarket to get some food and especially something for dinner."
"Just relax, Larry. We could order something for tonight." Brooke replied.
"And what will my grandson have for breakfast tomorrow morning?" Larry asked. "I insist on going shopping. Make yourself at home! I mean, it's your home too, girls."
Peyton had never seen her father so outgoing. He was really, really happy to see them at Tree Hill. Larry quickly left the house, and Peyton headed upstairs with her son and Brooke.
"I can't believe he put a padlock on my bedroom door." Peyton laughed. "It must have been his way of keeping the memories at home."
The blonde-haired young woman unlocked the padlock and entered the room. She felt a pang in her heart. The room had remained truly intact. Clothes were still strewn on the floor, and her records were misplaced. She noticed that a cap hadn't been put back on one of her markers and that one of her old algebra books was lying on her bedside table.
"Mommy, you didn't clean your room." Noah Sawyer said.
"Yeah, but don't do that, buddy. That's not very nice." Peyton replied with emotions.
She looked carefully at her walls and all the details of her room. It was emotional for her as well as for Brooke.
"Mom, what's that on the wall?" Noah asked. "Is that your drawings?"
Peyton nodded. "Yeah."
He referred to the three drawings at the top of his headboard: a tombstone, a man holding a baby, and one of a woman in a mirror. Each drawing represented an important part of Peyton Sawyer's life.
"I missed this place." Brooke Davis affirmed. "Oh my God! Look at this!"
She had found a picture of Peyton and herself at the costume party that had been held at TRIC at the start of their senior year of high school. Brooke was dressed as the devil, while Peyton had an angel of the death costume.
"It feels weird to be here," Peyton whispered.
Brooke smile. "But it's so good to be home. Welcome back to Tree Hill, P. Sawyer."
I hope you enjoyed this pilot.
I'll try to update quickly.
